Okay so My review is more like a 3.6 but I just couldn't give them 4 stars. So I came with to Spa Lounge because my friend was having a private party there . I was pretty excited ! Things I noticed 1. They are black owner ( yessssssss) 2. They are inside what looks like an office building Pros : 1. You can have a cute private party ! 2. My massage was really good the Lady did a great job and really got in there 3. You can get your nails done too ! It's perfect for a relaxing day 4. The lady who greeted me and told me what to do Was very nice 5. They provided bubbly and little Appetizers Here's some critiques that can bump the stars - I was 9 mins late and they were still setting up the room and figuring out what service will go in what room - the decor could be a bit better with small details - although my massage was bomb ! The music outside my room was way louder then the music inside my room. It was hard to have the chill environment with cardi b bumping loudly - my masseuse did a great job but didn't seem very personable at the time I felt like she was annoyed with something not related to me - Im use to getting a robe to change and so I'm prepared for my message ( I kept my pants on because I wasn't given directions on taking them off or not because I'm Use to the robe ) - the bday girl didn't like her massage ( sad face ; we had different ladies ) All in all this place has soooo much potential ! Trying to book an appointment here is IMPOSSIBLE. You cannot schedule online and they do not answer the phone so you are forced to try to schedule an appointment via email. After several emails back and forth, I never received a confirmation for my appointment. Absolutely unprofessional! I gave up as I do not wish to do business with such an impossible business. Horrible service I went there with my friend who booked an appointment for herself around 11 and they didn't tell her till 11:05 that the person giving her massage wasn't coming till 11:30 and they told her she had to reschedule for another day because they already have an appointment for 12 and they couldn't squeeze her in for the day . So I didn't plan on coming to Spa Lounge until my boyfriend decided to surprise me for my birthday. I got an hour long full body massage by Trinece (sorry for the misspell) and I must say it was one of the best massages I've ever gotten. She got the knots out of back/shoulders and rubbed my feet so well. I honestly was falling in and out of sleep during my session, I even found myself snoring! All in all the massage was great, I walked out feeling nice and loose. Relaxed. The only thing I would say I didn't like was that after my massage I was offered a cold glass of water. Which at first I thought was a very nice touch but when I took a sip and then looked at the glass it was ridiculously dirty. It didn't even look like it was washed, so that caught me off. Then I got a mani/pedi with shellac. They had a lot of colors to choose from which was pretty cool. The woman doing my nails was Myra. Myra was super sweet, we talked about an array of things and the out come of my nails were great! She definitely took her time to make sure that my nails looked good. Again, I would've never thought of visiting this place but after I did I saw that the prices are reasonable, the service is great, and the ambiance is super cute! First visit to this spa & had a great experience. I called to book a massage a week ahead of time & their schedule was open to fit mine which was great. I arrived & was asked to sign-in & fill out a short form about your massage history, what kind of massage your looking for etc., I was promptly called in @ my appt time by Angel who gave a great massage. She had great conversation & gave feedback on areas of your body that she felt needed more work than others. She used a strong peppermint oil that was wonderful for opening up your pours & very relaxing. There was light jazz playing & the room is lit very dim. Angel does a great deep massage working out kinks & relaxing muscles. They finish with a hot towel. My (hour) massage lasted about 45 minutes which is standard because they usually include dress & undress time. I was greeted @ the door by Angel with a bottled water & a pleasant goodbye. I've been coming here for a little over 1 1/2 years. Used to love this place. The business here has gone down drastically. You can't schedule an appointment over the phone anymore. If you come in person the revolving receptionist never knows what their doing. I came here 2 weeks in a row requesting just a pedi, I'm asked to leave my info and no one calls me back. I said maybe they were busy and try again a few days later. They say I'm sorry and handle it just the same. It's literally 2 weeks today and I'm here again... receptionists told me and I quote "I have 2 more days and I'm leaving I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you." I came here for a baby shower or "sprinkle," but I could definitely see some areas for improvement. For starters, let me just say that I think the concept is quite nice with them offering mobile services, especially since right after a massage all I want to do is go to sleep! Plus, the ambiance and setup of the place is relaxing and has great potential. There were robes and slippers for guests to put which is a nice touch for such a small venue. The music they had was also very nice and befitting, however just a tad bit loud in other areas. Now the cons, not sure if it was due to the group size of our event or what, but the logistics of getting everyone serviced was confusing. No one knew exactly when they were going to go into a session until your name was called. :/ Also, when I went in to have my massage I was halted until another-lady- took a restroom break! I was a bit delayed in realizing that our sessions were going to be shared. Imagine my disbelief. Trying to be a trooper because she too was a guest to the party- I endured it, but it was definitely awkward and a bit unprofessional. I have NEVER shared a room with someone else getting a massage aside from husband! She felt the same.I also had a facial which was supposed to be an "express" facial, but it truly only consisted of some liquids and a lot of rubbing. I did not receive a scrub, no blackheads were removed or any evaluations of my skin whatsoever. Such a shame. To add to it, there were appetizers and drinks served (provided by the hostess), but when the disposable glasses ran out- they magically appeared with glass cup that was wet. It seemed as though it was just washed or maybe rinsed, but I wasn't trying to figure that out. I just politely sat that right back down. The groupon states that it's worth $75, however, when I inquired my nail technician about the original price, she told me it was only worth $45. Hmmmm... Nail Tech, Deedee, was pleasant and told me she had been doing this for over 20 years, however, I felt VERY rushed as my appointment was at 530 and I didn't see her until after 6 because she was the only person there at the end of the day on a Friday. My biggest complaint - my nails weren't painted all the way to the cuticle or sides so it looks as if i have had about 1 week's growth! The interiors aren't even finished yet and it looks a tad messy and definitely not presentable. Nail polish selection was sparse. How do you open a nail salon with barely any nail polishes? She informed me they weren't honoring walk in appointments yet - only groupons and their regular customers. So if you're not yet officially open, why would you want to introduce your new business this way to potentially new clients?! Not really a great experience for a new client that was looking for a regular salon to go to . I received a Groupon from my boyfriend for Spa Party 2 U (which is why he is on probation for the next two years). This place is horrifying. There was dead skin in the water that soaks your feet for a pedicure. The woman (small asian) got upset with me after the second time I begged her to make the water warm (it was FREEZING). That's when I noticed the floating skin. She did not cut or file my nails during my mani or pedi!! What the heck?? Also, when she was doing my mani, she did ONE layer of polish. Huh? And then she got upset when I pleaded to do at least one more. I couldn't have run out faster. I was in tears on my way home. My cuticles were not cut, either. The condition of the "spa" is just dirty. Any woman experienced in nail salons will immediately recognize the cut nails on the floor, the loose hair in the massage/facial rooms, the disgusting GREEN water used to clean the tools..etc. I do plan to file a complaint with TDLR. I would be concerned if my mother came here to get her nails done. Please, reconsider. I do hope that some of you visit and also report this business to TDLR after you see the conditions. After 23 years of experience in the spa industry, you can tell she definitely knows what she is talking about. The place is nice, private and relaxing. I'm thinking of going back for a massage. I got a deal out of Groupon and making the appointment was so easy, just go to their website and book your appointment. I definitely recommend this place . I'm updating my review, because since I reviewed in 2014, I've gone back periodically for shellac manicures and pedicures, and I've always had a good experience. First, a bit of a rant: I think there is a misunderstanding due to naming and semantics when some reviewers visit Spa Lounge. It seems they believe they are going to a luxurious spa like at a 5-star hotel. Guys, come on. This is a small neighborhood business with a wonderful staff, and excellent prices that allow us normal gals to pamper ourselves a bit without breaking the bank. And you know what? That's great! There's nothing wrong with marketing to that clientele. If you're so high-class that you can't appreciate Spa Lounge for what it is, then go spend 5 times as much at the Houstonian. That said, I've enjoyed my services here every time I visit. My nails and toes always come out nice. If there are any small imperfections, I simply point them out politely and they fix it. I've never gotten a facial or massage here, but I certainly would. I've never noticed any issue with cleanliness, in fact, I think it's the opposite. They seem almost hyper-vigilant about cleaning tools and equipment and unwrapping fresh tools in front of the clients to ensure you feel comfortable. The staff is incredibly sweet, and they aren't overly talkative with me or with each other. When they say a service is and hour or 30 minutes, they stick to that time frame. That, in my opinion, is respectful and professional service. Every time I visit, they are upgrading their facilities or equipment. They've also utilized the cube for credit card payments and have improved their website and online booking experience. Lack of communication to say the least. I've tried to book an appointment at least 3 times and they failed to call me back and/or email me. I finally was able to book an appointment and they were an hour late. On top of that I went with a friend to get our massages together and they changed both our appointment times . I went there yesterday with a Groupon for a shellac manicure and a spa pedicure. As you can see in the pictures the shellac was done carelessly and unprofessionally. My toe nail was not dry even after 4 hours. I called them the next day to see if they could fix it. First time I called nobody answered. Second time, she said she would check and call me back after putting me on hold for several minutes. She asked me what was wrong and who did the job, and told me they had two available appointments in the afternoon. She NEVER called me back. I called again since I had to get it done quickly and I had mentioned to them that I was travelling. They kept me on hold several minutes as you can see in the pictures. Three different girls took the phone and spoke with me. Each of them gave me a different appointment availability which was very confusing and also made me feel they were not being honest about it. One of them started yelling at me saying that she was the one who talked with me in the morning and she didn't say that they were available in the afternoon. Then she gave the phone to another girl. She was very rude. She said they are not available today and tomorrow. I asked what I should do then? She said they couldn't do anything about it! I asked her to return my money to Groupon, so I could go somewhere else to fix my nails. She said they couldn't return my money, and I had to file a dispute with Groupon and get my money from them. I told her that they could just return my voucher so I could get my nails done before my trip. She said she couldn't make a decision. She told me to call back to talk with a manager and she didn't know when the manager would be available. I told her I had already spent a lot of time being on hold on the phone with them today and I cannot try to call them tomorrow hoping that they won't drag me around like today and not fix my nails. I asked her to talk with manager and call me back. She said she couldn't and hung up on me!!!! So now I'm stuck. I'm not sure if I can find another place in one day and their mistake will cost me again. They didn't care that they put me in this situation and they told me they are busy to fix their own mistake. Not to mention, the place was old and not clean, but I was trying to give them a shot for a good service. Two different girl did my manicure and pericure. They both seemed nice. When she was painting my toe nails, she didn't apply base coat and she was applying all the coats on top of each other very fast without waiting for each layer to dry. I was wearing flip flops so for 4 hours after I left they looked good, but apparently they were not still dry. because I could move the polish around when I saw the mess on my toe. read more

My office recieved a gift card for $600 towards a mani/pedi and facial/massage party. It was a bit difficult to set an appointment since they seemed to be all over the place with their schedule. Upon arrival, I could tell this was unlike most spas. The older woman who greeted us behind the reception desk was truly a sweetheart. She seemed very nice and asked us to wait or choose from colors on the wall. I was seperated from my group since we had to take turns getting massages. The massage was pretty good! I liked the masseuse (even though she was a little chatty). I enjoyed her services and she made me feel comfortable. She did tell me that she usually feels out customers on whether or not they want to be talked to. I didn't mind it, but some other customers do and she respected my much quieter coworker's massage experience. I felt that this was the best experience at the spa. The pedicure was mediocre and it seemed a bit rushed. The maniucre was very, very bad. Please don't get me wrong; I really liked the people who worked there. They seem like hard-working individuals who are trying to make ends meet, but I don't think the salon business might be for them. The location, the ambience and the service areas are not up to par with spas I've been to. Even basic nail salons I've been to were much better looking than this spa. When I asked for shellac, the lady wanted to upcharge me (even though I brought a $600 gift card in). When I said that was okay, she actually said no because she "had another appointment". I was there for over two to three hours and she did not have another appointment. She made the older woman who was initially the receptionist do my manicure while she made phone calls. The manicure wasn't done well and they were very stingy with their polish. I almost feel guilty for posting this because the ladies who worked on me were very kind (I tipped accordingly), but it seems as the owner/manager of the salon is not capable of handling it. If you want customers to come back, you need to accomodate them at least minimally. If you're looking for a relaxing, nice experience at a spa or salon, I would not reccomend. If you're looking for a decent message at a place nearby your area, I would tell you sure; I guess, why not? Otherwise, find another place. I like the staff, but it was just a little to low budget for me. I had a massage, based off a recommendation and a Groupon. Construction is horrible!( not The business fault, but be aware of delays and reckless driving) The parking lot is shared with other stores within this very tiny strip mall setup( don't park by the temp agency, people are in and out, they will hit your car, chasing after their checks) at 10am no slots are lefts. Arrived by 10am with another couple ahead of me, the doors were locked until 10:07am. The receptionist was kind and very professional, but she seemed overwhelmed and understaffed. The reception area is chic, but the seating area is tiny and the cloth seats are worn down, when you sit, you sink and they need reinforced pillows and a good refreshed steam to restore them to their former glory. Noticed electric outlets without their cover plates ( dangerous for children), the nail spa area was nice until I looked at the spa seats, old, worn down, the caramel colored leather seats are splitting and cracking on the arm rests and back portion. I said "Hello" to whom I presumed to be the masseuse, she looked at me and walk pass me without a peek (I am loud person, so I knew she heard me, but she was my guest's masseuse, still rude) Went to the restroom, it's nice and big and chic ( modern) but no toliet paper on the roll, it was sitting on the top of the towel stand to the left of the toilet. We were being rushed by the rude(Treniece) masseuse( which she sailed in at 10:12am, which after opening time, with bags of stuff). So my guest and I had to share the restroom to speed up the process to get to the session. I had Angel, nice but robotic. She asked me basic questions( pressure, areas of concentration, physical activity) then she left me to undress( no robes or slippers no choice of essential oils) room was tiny, bed barely fitted, a crockpot pot with warming towels, a tiny chair and stand and hooks to hang your clothes, a lighter dimmer covered with decorative tape. ROOM was warmer than normal, didnt feel air circulating, ( but that didnt bother me, but others might sweat bullets)Bedding was paperthin, found a pair of wrap around sunglass on the bed, water damage spots on ceiling, spotty paint job on the walls. Walls are paperthin, heard All the comings and goings of the front area and someone kept squeezing what sounded like a mop bucket of water. Massage: Deep tissue with hot towel. Angel held out fair well with the upperbody( arms, back fine, the upper neck was barely touched) Pressure was good, but she loss steam 15 mins in with the lower body ( thighs were tested, but never cracked any of major muscles, felt like a light feathery attempt) Calfs were done the best, felt the intensity, then it slowed quickly and then stopped). The Light remained on the last half of session during the lower body. Hot towels were lukewarm and soggy, went cold within seconds of it touch my back, I became soggy for the next 5 mins or so( skipppp it). TIME was knocked off, due to restroom break, so ended up being more like 45 mins. Overall, the massage was robotic and underwhelming. Was left to put my clothes on, I looked down for my shoes and saw a can of HOT Shot Roach Spray, slight peeking out under the bed, it was black with pinkish red lettering, didnt see when I first came in. Hurried and put my clothes on , with lightening speed, got my bottle of Ozarka water from Angel, thanked her from her time and flew out the door, barely wrapping up the transaction with the receptionist. Wanted this place to be a win for me, because it's close to where I commute, but alast, it was ment to be. I tried this salon because I thought it was a great deal on Living Social. My 1 hour massage appointment was scheduled for 10am. The massage started at 10:15am, the therapist finished the message at 10:50am. During the message the therapist's music played commercials, she had poor customer service, during the commercials I could hear the male repair man talking right outside my door. While I was receiving my manicure, one of the employee's family stop by to visit. They had a loud conversation about food and gambling in the middle of the salon... The atmosphere in general is far from relaxing, and the customer service definitely needs improvement. Unfortunately Houston has too many excellent salons for me to recommend this one. (Keep in mind I'm on a tight schedule because I was flying out the next day early morning and there were issues with my other appointments but this one took the cake) Since my initial visit and review I've gotten my nails done twice and on my third and LAST where I booked an appointment online went in for said appointment and she said she was closed and thought she called everyone on schedule. Places did close due to the impending hurricane so I understood that, but THEN she proceeded to tell me that she would do them if I could wait an hour. My initial appointment was for 12:55pm. So I waited as she finished 2 clients she was working on. Around 2pm another lady walked in for her appointment. She advised that it was only a refil it'll be quick. Around 2:45pm she asks me to pick my color. I picked my colors and told her I wanted a simple line design. She proceeded to tell me I'm going to have to come back because the girl that do designs better isn't there and besides she forgot all the equipment at her house after taking it home for them to practice. So you mean to tell me I've been waiting here for almost 2 HOURS for you to tell me to come back. I was pissed but instead of acting out I said ok thank you, because I had already made up my mind that I WAS NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN. Now as I turned around to leave the customer whose refill she was still working on asked her if she needed to see when I wanted to reschedule my appointment and she said I DON'T CARE along with something else she mumbled. Go at your own risk!!! This place is beyond unprofessional and your nails are based on her mood. Don't let me start on the other nail tech that was suppose to do my nails 2 of the times I've gone here and she didn't show up!! I removed a star for each bad experience and another for her comment!! That's also not the first time I've heard her insult clients behind there backs so I wasn't really surprised by her behavior. To be a relatively new client, I've heard a lot of things and she needs to learn the difference between her living room and work!! I have really mixed emotions about this place. It definitely isn't the nicest of facilities but it gets the job done and for cheap. Most of the ladies are nice too. Definitely not "spa" worthy for the lack of luxury though. I bought a Groupon for a $30 Shellac manicure and pedicure which is a great deal and they honor it every time I go in which is nice. However, one morning I went after a run around 9:30 cause their website said that's when they open. I arrived and the doors were locked so I called their number and the lady that answered said they didn't open until 10:30. I mentioned their website stated differently and she said oh that's only with an appointment. Well they should note that. DO NOT goto this glorified nail salon. They should be sued for fraud and false advertisement to call themselves a SPA, because nothing could be further from the truth. We made a 10:00 am appointment for my friends birthday, and there were four of us and we had each purchased a Groupon spa package which included a shellac manicure, pedicure, one hour massage, and for an additional $25, a facial. The first clue that this place was subpar was that it was in a strip mall, the decor was cold, sterile, and extremely dirty. The face pillow on my massage table was broken so I literally had to continue to turn my head every so often in order to take breaths during the massage, you don't receive new clean bathrobes or slippers, they appear not to have been washed and just re-hung after each use. There is no locker area to store your personal clothing and things so they just hang in the hallway. In between services, your just out in the open in your robe. The manicure was rushed and the polish wasn't down to the nail bed and it appeared like a one week grow-out. The massage was enjoyable, as was the facial but overall this place needs to be shut-down by the health department. If the Groupon is too good to be true...don't buy it because it's likely a dump like this place. I don't expect it to be in existence for very much longer. AVOID!! read more

I have been to Spa Lounge twice now, and I absolutely love it and will keep going back. The first time I went I had bought a Groupon for a Shellac manicure and a spa pedicure. The second time, I was still only charged the Groupon price- it is a part of their loyalty program I think. I love this little place because it is very clean, small, and the nail technicians are not Vietnamese ladies talking about you in their language. Dee Dee, the manager, is very friendly and she actually remembered me from my first visit. They really try to get to know their customers. Dee Dee took so much time doing my pedicure and manicure. She was never rushed and she made sure I had a great experience. I would HIGHLY recommend Spa Lounge, and ask for Dee Dee. read more

Worst experience of my life. Came in to get a shellac manicure and pedicure done by a professional, however I seemed to have gotten one from a five year old. The job was so poorly done and even after coming back to get it fixed a second time my nails didn't show any improvement. The shellac on my nails peeled off on most of my nails just 2 hours after leaving the salon. To which i was told that the chemicals in the shellac didn't get along with my body chemicals. Like seriously?!?!?! I was supposed to get french tip toes , but umm I have no clue what that was. read more

Loved this salon! Our cruise was delayed by 5 hours so on our way to Galveston we decided to get our nails done. Picked a random spot and ended up having one of the best nail salon experiences.
