The amenities are incredible here. The locker room has a steam room, sauna, showers and a hot tub. I spent a good hour enjoying these before my massage and another 30 after. I love when a spa includes thoughtful items like a shaving kit, toothbrush, face wash, etc. The employees were all extremely gracious and kind. They definitely wanted you to enjoy your experience. The only downside is that they automatically include a 22% gratuity. I understand including a base 10% gratuity with the option to add on depending on your experience, but it did feel a bit unreasonable. read more

The security person who had it said they found it that way. Complete broken. I talk to the general manager and he was a waste of time. Ive been going to this spa for years but will never go back. I have a home in Deer valley. I take responsibility for accidentally leaving my watch after my day at the spa but it would have been nice if they took some responsibility of destroying it. read more

I enjoyed a massage while visiting the Montage. I spa amenities were amazing. Very relaxing. The spa was out of robes when I arrived and I was one of very few gentlemen in the spa area. This was disappointing. I continued to request a robe and was told they are still out. I had a 90 massage and was never offered a robe. I was forced to enjoy the amenities using a towel only. The staff were amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. My massage was out of this world. They allow you to completely customize your experience with extra focus on any areas you select. The comfort of a warm bath robe is part of the experience and without it I did not enjoy the experience as much. That alone, is the reason I am giving Montage Spa 4 stars. read more

I have been here twice and both experiences left a lot to be desired. First, the good - certain amenities are done very well, such as the pool and gym. On both occasions, I came early to use the gym prior my services. Unfortunately, the first time I went to this spa I booked a 90 minute service that ended about 20 minutes short of that. When I discussed with the front desk staff, they were willing to adjust the price, but I am disappointed that it happened in the first place. I was also disappointed at the 22% automatic gratuity, as the massage itself was underwhelming. I think this illustrated the worst part about automatic gratuities... that there leaves no incentive to perform a quality service. The second time I went to this spa, the massage was better quality. However, what struck me was that both times I ordered lunch from the pool and it was so bad that it was almost inedible. The first time, I ordered a Caesar salad with salmon which was cold and undercooked. The second time I ordered a veggie wrap which tasted like it came from a cheap cafeteria and had been sitting around for days to the point where everything was soggy. In both cases, I would have spent more time at the pool (and ordered more drinks) had the food been passable. As one might expect, being The montage, prices are astronomical and in my opinion there is no excuse for serving such awful quality food. Next time, I will likely try St. Regis or Stein E. I am saddened and confused as to how this spa has some less than stellar reviews. My boyfriend and I had a couples massage recently, and I still feel like a relaxed pile of goo after the experience! We arrived 3 hours early to use all the amenities. I thought that was a little too much time, but my BF insisted, and I sure am happy he did! We enjoyed such relaxation in the sauna, steam room, pool, and hot tub(s). The front desk and attendant employees were all great. We each received a tour of the facility, and I, embarrassingly, got lost trying to find the pool, and I guess they could see the lost look on my face, because the nice girl asked if I needed help and guided me to the pool. Silly sidenote, the dried strawberries in the lounge were delicious. I had like, six tiny cups! They also have complimentary fruit, nuts, cucumber water, and orange water. Onto the massages! Kristin was my massage therapist, Madison (I think) was my boyfriend's. Kristin was GREAT. I have had a hard time in the past when I tell massage therapists I like the pressure pretty firm, and it is never quite firm enough. Kristin did not mess around! The pressure was firm and perfect, and she spent some extra time on the areas where she could tell I had extra stress/knots/etc. I overheard Madison ask my boyfriend how the pressure was (he had never had a massage before, so he said to maybe start light/medium) and he said he could use a little more pressure, and she adjusted and he said it was perfect for the remainder of the treatment. The only negative part of the experience was that we eventually had to leave, haha! This is probably the nicest spa in the Park City area...I have been here 4-5 times over the last 2 years and it has been my favorite experience to take out of town guests. Unfortunately, they have started stripping away amenities (access to use the outdoor pool for day passes) and now have really jacked us the prices. Day passes are now a whopping $75!!!!! CRAZY!! I made an appointment 2 days in advance and I then received a phone call to confirm and I did confirm. When I pulled up to valet they charged me $50 in CASH to park and explained I was going to the spa and I was told I still needed to pay so I did because I was going to be late for my appointment. I arrived and checked in for my 11 am appointment. I went to the relaxing room waiting for my therapist to call my name and they were calling other names for the customers waiting for their 11 am services. After waiting for over 20 minutes I finally got up and asked to find out they had nobody available to preform my service. They barely said sorry and I had to basically beg for my $50 valet parking to be returned. If this had only happened to me I would not have written this review, but it also happened to my daughter two days before. It truly was such a bad experience. Fantastic spa. If you're based in Northern California, it's comparable to Spa Terra, with the addition of a beautiful pool where you can order lunch and drinks. The spa menu is optimized for skiers - I got the Alpine Rescue, which was essentially deep tissue. Ideally, I'd have preferred a mix of shiatsu and deep tissue techniques but the massage was effective nonetheless. I have been to this spa twice. Both times their women's jacuzzi was broken and there was no other option but to use the jacuzzi at the shared pool. My first time here, I got a really great 50 minute massage. I ordered food poolside which did take a while, but was good. I asked for herbal tea because they had none available in the relaxation lounge. One girl said she would go to find me some and never came back. As far as snacks, there were only green apples. My husband reported many different options for snacks on the mens side. Overall, this experience was better than average. My second time here, I got a facial which really was subpar. My neck and chest were never touched. I have never received a facial anywhere (even from my dermatologists office) where I didn't receive a short neck/chest massage. There also was no music playing so it was this weird kind of awkward silence which made me feel as if I needed to have a conversation with the esthetician which is the last thing I want to do when getting a facial. No herbal tea, only green apples. Again, we ordered food and the front desk told us we could only order from the small spa menu. I knew this was not correct because I ordered from the room service menu two weeks before. Finally, someone came by at the pool to take our order. She assured me we could order from room service. We ordered two salads, jumbo shrimp cocktail and coffee and orange juice. She came back after about a half hour to tell us they could not make the Caesar salads so my cousin ordered a different salad and I stuck to just the shrimp. Food came, but the drinks never came. Could never find anyone the entire time we ate to ask for our drinks. Had to later call the hotel to request them to be taken off the bill. This experience was much more lackluster than the first, and the first experience wasn't a 5-star one. I've decided to book with Remede at St. Regis for my next service and I hope for it to be much better than both of these. Unfortunate. read more

Spa Montage is hands down the nicest spa I've ever been to. Granted the overall Montage Hotel/Resort is beautiful but this modern designed, slightly Asian influenced spa is truly the complex's gem. Of course, it has a price point to match... Make sure to get an appointment as early as you can because they fill up (honestly, as in call now). Note that parking is free if one is using the spa UNLESS one is skiing as well; so if you want to get a massage after skiing, you'll have to drop off your gear separately in order not to get charged. read more

In the same week my mom and I tried out both the St. Regis and the Montage spa (it's a tough life, I know hehe), and I thought the Montage was second to the St. Regis. They both had high points and If I could take pieces from each, that spa would be perfect The things that bothered me about the Montage was that the sauna/steam room/ hot tub area were on the path to the sitting area, meaning all of the people going to get massages walked down the middle of the area. Now I'm not a bashful person, but all of the doors face this walkway directly and they are clear, therefore the people walking through see all of the nude people sitting in this area. Now obviously you wouldn't be doing this if you were embarrassed in the first place, but it seems they could have routed the passer-bys somewhere else. Secondly the showers have no kind of ledge or anything to prop your leg up when shaving. This is especially important when using one of the cheap disposable razors, because you inevitably cut yourself. There were also some good things too. Compared to the St. Regis, their facilities are huge! The decorations were nice and the service was nice. It may seem that I am being too picky, but after being to two of the nicest, most expensive spas back to back, it is amazing to me that neither of them seem to hit it out of the park in all areas - especially amenities and design. My mom and I always tease that spas must be deisigned by men who do not visit spas or else they would know you need somewhere to put your foot while shaving in the women's shower! Don't get me wrong, everything was very nice, but it is extremely pricey so let's hope you really love it! P.S. if you are not so much into the amenities like sauna etc. and are just looking for a good massage, Mountain Body on Main Street is a really good, less expensive option! read more

Only 1 type of herbal tea in relaxation lounge- other 3 types were caffeinated and then there was VERY cold iced spa water and 3 types of trail mix. Staff were nice. It was a bit crowded - this is ski season and starting around 3 it really filled up. Amenities were fine though I hadn't heard of the brand. Spa shop is nice if you like $200 sweatpants etc! :) Main problem was my massage therapist had really long nails and they hurt my skin! Maybe I shouldn't have requested a female! read more

Spa Montage has something for everyone. I've never seen such an extensive spa menu, or so many amenities at a spa, in quite sometime. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I decided to go with Reflexology pedicures and my experience with it wasn't 100% what I would have expected. It was off the hair salon, so quite loud and quite bright. We're in robes and slippers and there is a man getting his hair cut 100 ft. from us. It just wasn't the most relaxing experience. Do not order food in the spa unless you have hours and want mediocre food! I visited the spa early in February with a group of 8 girls. We were from out of town and had very limited time to spend at the spa. We ordered are lunch and waited over an hour and a half to get it. After an hour of waiting, WE had to find someone to check on our food, they said it would be right out and AGAIN we waited. The food finally came and was cold. All of that would have been easy to deal with, but the lack of acknowledgement and concern was a bit odd. At such a well known and beautiful hotel, I expected more. read more

Sad to write this review because I expected better from a Montage resort. My massage therapist was so lovely, and the massage itself was wonderful. However, I booked a 90 minute massage and the massage started 10 minutes late but still finished on time. Ten minutes in terms of a massage is a lot of time to shave off. There were also a group of very loud ladies in the relaxation room and overflowing trash cans by the water and tea stations. There were children in the spa pool that were being loud and reckless, and splashing significant amounts of water outside the pool, creating a slipping hazard. I understand that they were allowing family time in the spa pool ( I myself am a mother to 3 children under 3) because of ongoing construction, however, there were about 15 extremely loud and disrespectful children to only two adults, and no lifeguard on duty. I will likely start going back to the St. Regis Spa after this experience. read more

I am an aesthetician and owner of a skin care facility and spend my day taking care of others, so my girlfriend and I, (who is also a spa owner), decided to treat ourselves to a luxury experience while on vacation in Park City Utah. I had high hopes for Spa Montage, but unfortunately I can only offer two stars. The 2 stars are for the scenic drive up to the magnificent property, and the gorgeous Fatali artwork they have displayed all over the spa. My facial was for 90 minutes and cost $290 excluding gratuity. My shoulders, neck and chest were never addressed during the entire treatment. This was the "Signature" facial that was so highly recommended? What is a facial without having your neck and shoulders massaged? She applied little to no pressure at all on my face, hands and feet which made the experience irritating as we all know that to truly relax, these pressure points must have PRESSURE. There was no music in the background through the entire treatment so it was awkward to be able to hear cabinets closing in the next room and conversations happening down the hall. Not to mention my facialist's tummy grumbling! (poor thing) I would rate the facial a 1 star and would have justified paying $50 for it. My next experience was in the spa area where the swimming pool is. We were told on the phone that we could order lunch there. We waited 45 min before anyone addressed us, and then when we finally got an attendants attention he told us he would be right back and never showed up. We were finished at that point. We went to the front desk and told the woman about our experience and she proceeded to tell us their system for music was down, and that they only had one person on staff, and on and on... excuses, excuses... that we didn't care to hear. She did offer 15% off the service, but we felt insulted by this, as the mandatory gratuity was higher than the discount offered! We will NOT be returning to this facility, as lovely as it appeared. My in-laws, my wife, and I went to this spa because the girls wanted to get spa treatments and my father- in-law and I wanted to use the amenities. The front desk staff was the best part of the entire experience for me. They were really friendly and professional. I knew everything was going to hit the fan when I was given two different colored slippers. We were not given a tour of the spa and were shown to our lockers. We had no idea where anything was and had to figure everything out on our own. After getting lost an employee noticed we were looking for the pool and showed us the way. After awhile at the pool we asked to pool boy for a cocktail menu to get some drinks. He came back with an appetizer menu so again I asked him for a cocktail menu for drinks. The poor pool boy pointed to the shrimp cocktail and I had to explain to him what it was and why a shrimp cocktail is not a drink. We ordered drinks not knowing it would take an hour and a half to get our drinks. After forty five minutes the pool boy came back to tell us it will be fifteen to twenty five minutes until our drinks would show up. After the swimming pool we went to the steam room to find six towels from people that had been in there before us. This made us uncomfortable so we decided to use the hot-tub. There was a weird smell coming from in or around the hot-tub so we decided to just take showers and leave the spa. Going into this spa I had high expectations and was excited to see the spa facilities. as of right now I will not be returning to this spa and will continue to try other spas in town. read more

I did not expect to love this spa as much as I did since the Montage is a little too snooty and conservative for my taste, but I was blown away by the space and services! In the summer, you can sit on the sundeck, take a hot tub or swim in the huge indoor pool with a view of the whole valley -- and the place is practically empty. In the women-only area, there are endless chairs, saunas, steamrooms, hot tubs, products, showers, etc. And they are all huge and tastefully decorated. It is $40 to access all this for the day -- a steal once you see the place. Services are similarly spectacular, but SUPER-pricey. However, you get free access to all spa areas and amenities, so if you can spend the day there, it makes it more worth it. I've had many massages in many cities, but the one here was one of the best of my entire life, in every way. I also had a great experience with my hair with Whitney in the salon. The hotel is great but the spa has terrible management--Amy, I believe is her name. Very unlike the rest of the property. I was there for my 50th birthday despite reading the reviews. I saw how bad they were but I really wanted my family to enjoy the resort. I told Sarah when I booked I saw the reviews and I hoped they improved. Although she assured me they had, they hadn't and unfortunately, lots of things went wrong that weren't their fault (my friend got sick and canceled and when I asked to replace her with another friend the man at the desk refunded the money). But later when I realized my services had been scheduled with an over two hour gap I asked for solutions and the manager just said "no refunds". I NEVER asked for a refund, not even in the first instance. I was in tears. I was asking for more service, not a refund. There was no offer to accommodate, reschedule, or add services and when I asked they refused. My friend was there with me and she asked for a last minute service and was accommodated in a room with a view. I got a room with no view--not the 50th birthday experience I was hoping for at all. I left without getting my facial because Amy was so rude to me. I didn't feel welcome at all. If I could give them zero stars, I would. If you're celebrating something special, don't chance it. They don't care. They make their money and have no reason to treat you well once they get your money because of their draconian policies. Also, it was noisy, no quiet room and the furniture looked to need a good cleaning. Lunch in the pool area took about an hour and forty five minutes to arrive, staff said they would check on the food but then never returned, and when it finally arrived the food was literally cold, as if it had been sitting outside in the snow. The worst part of it all was the lack of acknowledgment or any attempt at rectifying the experience. The Spa manager blamed the restaurant, took our info and said she would have the restaurant manager contact us. Never heard from anyone. We sent an email to general management. Never heard back. I would expect far better from a resort of this supposed caliber. Mistakes get made, yes, but this type of resort should know how to recover and rectify. Will not go back. read more

My husband and I had a horrible experience visiting the Spa at the Montage Deer Valley this past week. We booked a 90 minute couples massage which was great. However, our true extreme disappointment was due to the service by the staff at the Spa. We weren't notified that if we had treatments at 5:15pm that we'd receive the short end of the stick service. When we checked in we weren't told that by the end of our service we should just shower and leave. We even asked them about ordering food poolside and they told us that we just needed to bring our cc. Upon completion of our services, we went to the lounge to unwind a bit and they surprised us and told us we only had 15 minutes left to go to the pool with no food available to order and 45 minutes left to utilize the amentities... you'd think that with the amount of money we are paying for the both of us to enjoy that we'd actually get to indulge and receive the best of the best service from this supposed five star spa. During the last "45 minutes" the lounge didn't have any tea, snacks, or even water. The staff had already began to turn down and clean the lounge/lockers despite the fact that there were still customers trying to relax. I was going to soak in the jacuzzi for a bit but I felt so uncomfortable because they kept coming in and checking on me and made me feel as if they were trying to kick me out. So in the end I decided to just not use the amentities, shower, and leave.. Then at the reception, same thing, they started cleaning and even closed the gate. My husband and I checked out and left. I asked him how his experience was and not surprisingly he went through the same situation on the men's side. We left at 6:15pm. All in all, we were extremely disappointed that we could pay $800 (before tip) to relax and replenish in one of the most renowned spas, but got this kind of treatment. Visited the spa over Presidents' Day weekend 2017 and I must say the service was impeccable. Started my day off at the gym. Which was really impressive. State of the art work out machines with an amazing view while running on the treadmill. The facilities were extremely clean. After my workout I became a bit hungry so decided to try out their new spa lunch menu. I ordered the grilled chicken wrap with a side salad and was not disappointed. The portion was perfect. All the ingredients were fresh and presentation was lovely. Service was outstanding. Ordered my lunch and received it within a half hour which was perfect so I could enjoy my soak in the hot tub beforehand. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and there was always someone there when you needed them. Definitely will be returning to try out the other services they offer. I've been to Deer Valley a dozen times by now. And I've stayed at the Montage about 4 times by now. I have to say that it pretty much doesn't get any better than this at Deer Valley. There are some things I wish were different, but I could still live with them. Their ski-in/ski-out is just a little annoying because it's not downhill right away. You have to push your way to the nearest ski lift and take that up. At the St. Regis Deer Valley, their ski-in/ski-out is more convenient because you can just start skiing down immediately and then take a lift up. They also changed their dinner menu at APEX which was a bummer. I rather enjoyed their steakhouse, but now it's more of an all-around restaurant. Still great food though. Their spa is fantastic. They have an outstanding indoor pool/jacuzzi. I was also able to order food and beer to the spa. They also have a pretty cool pub downstairs. It has arcade, pool tables, darts, and two bowling alleys. The best part though is their fish and chips and their pizza cooked in their wood burning oven. read more
