I was in Escondido at the Welk for vacation and I ended up getting the worst migraine ever! The spa there was fully booked for a massage. I started looking on yelp for local massage places and found this one so I called and let them know that I was having a bad migraine and pain in my neck and shoulders. She told me they could take me right away, so my husband drove me over there and they were super friendly and nice as soon as I walked in. The place is very relaxing and it's a little dim and very clean. They took me in right away to my room and explained everything to me. The woman who massaged me did not speak English, but she had a translator on her phone so she would put her phone up to my mouth so I can speak to it, and it will translate everything into her language. It may communication very smooth and easy. My massage was amazing! I walked out of there with my head feeling better and by the evening time I felt so much better that I was able to enjoy the resort with my family! read more

I came here to try the head spa and it was my first time ever doing one. However I definitely expected a more in depth treatment. I felt relaxed the entire time and the guy who did my massage + head spa treatment was very friendly and professional. The massage exceeded expectations and the pressure was amazing. If I was coming here only for a massage I would have given 5 stars. But as far as the head spa...they didn't do the scalp analysis that I see most places do, nor did they blow out my hair completely. I wanted to love it, but I didn't. Reviewers are right, they are very kind, but definitely need Improvement in their actual massage techniques. When we arrived they seem very confused about our appointment, although we had called 40 minutes prior. Apparently they have a person in another area that takes calls. They scrambled to find two people to do our couples massage. It was an older man and an older woman. The massage portion for me was just two hands pressing up and down my legs and my arms but zero actual massage. No head, neck, shoulders, feet or hand massage. It made me question whether this person has been trained in massage at all. My husband's experience was a little different. He noted they skipped all the same areas for him but at least there was some back massage. I'll be looking for another place to try in the area. I also feel bad leaving the less than stellar review, but I want my reviews to be accurate to help others. read more

This was a terrible experience! I found a Groupon for a scalp treatment and purchased for me and my daughter. On my way to the appointment they called to say machine broke and could we come in early? So we did! The people were nice but spoke ABSOLUTELY no English and could not even communicate what they were doing. Also, there was no scalp treatment! She washed my hair and it hurt so badly! She kept trying to brush with some barbaric device that was pulling my hair out! They seemed like they had no idea how to work their machines and absolutely no idea how to even wash hair! It hurt so badly that I had to stop mid service and leave! I walked out with product in my hair because they could not understand enough to know that I wanted them to stop! This was awful and I highly advise that you do not come here! I am certain that they are not licensed to do this and who knows what kind of damage they caused to my hair! I left with dripping wet hair with some kind of nasty product in it and my head is killing me! You have been warned!!!!! Don't lose your money like I did! read more

Sure are friendly, just like most other customers said. But a couple things are definitely off. They only have each customer separated by curtains, and during my 90 min massage I could hear incoming customers AND the most awkward moaning from another customer in the next "room". Yikes. The technique was good, definitely relaxing - although I wish I was given the opportunity to request a female since I am uncomfortable with a man masseuse (but I was able to get past that). Never had someone stradle the table to get leverage either...so that was odd/alarming - but maybe it's because I'm a larger woman so he needed to get around differently, I'm unsure. I'd say the icing on the cake that took this experience from okay to nope was that the man ASKED FOR a tip! On my way out the door I thanked them and said I felt great - but then he said " hey, lady, can I get a tip?" Maybe my etiquette is subpar, but from what I know is that you NEVER ask for a tip (and I'm in the physical service industry). Definitely changed my opinion of their staff. Also, the language barrier may have been part of that because they consistently referred to me as "lady" instead of "ma'am" or "miss". Personally I'm never returning here, this place leaves much to be desired. read more

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO. The scalp treatment is JUST A HAIR WASH. I wish I could give them 5 stars. The male and female older couple who greeted us were friendly and kind. I had called 3 different times to confirm my appt for TWO scalp treatments for the same time and they still were confused. We had to wait 30 minutes for them to make arrangements. The place is calm, serene, and clean. The massages are not professional level but they were nice. The scalp treatment was 20 full minutes of just shampooing and another 20 min under a steamer. NO scalp pressure, no neck or scalp massage, no combs or scratchers for the scalp. Then wrap up with 20 min of hair dryer. So, I drove 40 min for a hair wash I can get from my local salon. I hope other clients have better results! read more

I booked this place last minute for my dad the same day and I had set an appointment for 2:30. We get there at 2:25 no one was in the front for 5 minutes of waiting. A man had written down my information over the phone but when we got there it was alone and dark and no one was at the front desk. I asked for an Asian fusion combo massage. 60 minutes. A woman came out rushing asking us to wait 20 minutes. We were suprised but waited anyways. She looked rushed and was doing all the work alone. My dad felt rushed and he also did not enjoy the experience. She kept coming and going from the service. I think that's very unprofessional. We will not be returning. My wife made a reservation for a couples massage and Facials for the two of us for my Birthday. When we arrived they didn't have a reservation in thier system for us and then couldn't do a couples massage because they only had one masseuse and one person that does the facials. When I started to say that that's not what we wanted, that we wanted a couples massage, the lady started to say that they could do a couples massage. I was like wait a minute, we were just told that you only have one masseuse. So now we are being lied to so they could get the business and the result would be getting lied to and one of us getting a massage by someone that doesn't do massages. End result was reservation for my Birthday was never entered entered, they didn't have the correct staffing to do the services but was caught in a lie that they were trying to say they did. Place is very clean and upon walking in we were greeted by staff. They were very pleasant. We made 630appointments and got lost but they waited for us to arrive. I got the head spa massage and it was so relaxing, my hair feels great. Please note that this place is not as advertised. The staff and the owner do not know how to speak English. The service is definitely not friendly and not you first come in I purchased a Groupon scalp spa massage could not believe my experience. If you are expecting a spotlight environment and a relaxing massage do not come here. The massage I received was like being beaten up in a boxing ring and I wasn't given any instruction. It was cold and noisy. They have noise canceling blocks on the wall, but obviously it doesn't work. The was even worse. I literally went through 45 minutes of being massaged by somebody so vigorously that I thought all seven layers of my skin were being ripped off relaxing. Hell no feel good. Hell no it was absolute torture. When she was done massage, she blew hair and I came out of there looking like a scary hairy monster. I wouldn't recommend this whatsoever. Additionally, the Groupon said that this was a scalp treatment that you would get a follicle review and a lot of great products for your hair, which I don't believe I received. Even the picture showed a water massage which also didn't happen. There was a lot of banging around the tub around my head, very noisy disruptive, and again, not a good spot environment read more

My girlfriend and I went here to get a 60 minute couples massage. To start with we had a 1:30 appointment and they called twice to change the time of our appointment. When we got there they ushered us into separate rooms. We thought they were going to open the curtain between us to put us together but they didn't. After only a few minutes my girlfriend told the lady giving her a massage that she was uncomfortable and wanted to stop. The lady kept going and wouldn't stop. My girlfriend started crying and continued to tell her she wanted her to stop and wanted to get dressed but the lady would not let her up. Then she was able to get off the table and told the lady again she wanted her to stop. The lady told her to lay back down so she could get the oil off of her and when my girlfriend did she continued the massage again. My girlfriend asked her to stop and let her get dressed for 40 minutes while crying. I finally heard her and got up from my massage in the next room and went in there and told the lady to stop. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My girlfriend will probably never get a massage again after this experience. There was definitely a language barrier but the people that work here should be able to understand the word stop. read more

This is the second time we called and booked couples massage. First time they said they Dont have it here and we went to Poway location. This time my husband called and confirmed 3 times that this is for the Escondido location, but still when we reached it didn't appear we had an appointment and the manager told us to travel to Poway location. Due to time constraints we couldn't drive. I hope we had just canceled and went to other spa places in Escondido. But the lady said she will arrange someone in half an hour and we waited. There is no room so I went behind one curtain with the manager lady and for my husband they made him sleep outside where there is not even a curtain. That was not the worst part. The worst part is the lady didn't know how to massage and she was just oiling me and shaking me in so many directions. I have never been shaken this much in my so many massage appointments with different salons over years. She went out of the room almost 10-15 times for dont know what reasons maybe for supplies not sure but one time She just stayed there for almost 1 min and on massage table which seems to be too long.. Especially when everything is open and its rainy day and the room temperature is not maintained for massage. It was cold for me. Even with a sheet and blanket over me. We just fell into the Groupon trap and we will never book this place again. Hope this review helps someone else. read more
