The cost for a one hour massage rivals other spots I've been to that had memberships for similar services. It's like a mini day spa hidden in North County without the resort fees. The space is cozy and calm, with no distractions or disturbances from outdoor settings. My tech, Jeanine, has been so wonderful and attentive to my body's concerns that I can't not recommend her. This is a cute little hole in the wall place to get a nice massage. They have different categories of massages and the pricing is fair. Lian T. Always does my massages and I get the deep tissue with cupping and her hands are amazing! The ambiance is very zen and clean and you feel relaxed from the moment you walk in through the door. It took me a while to get an appointment here because the website didn't have openings. I eventually called and left a message and someone called me back. The place is clean and comfortable. I hate leaving negative reviews but the massage was disappointing. The therapist used only one hand for at least ten minutes, repeating the same motion and pausing randomly for seconds at a time. It seemed like she was on her phone. I tried to look up at one point because it was so unusual but I felt weird about it. Also would be weird to say, "Hey can you use two hands please?" I went for a deep tissue massage and paid for it. The environment was unwelcoming and the therapist T. was rude. I am familiar with deep tissue massage since I received it multiple times in the past from other therapists in other locations. The massage Miss. T. performed was NOT a deep tissue treatment: It was a shallow, and mild massage that did not release any tension or muscle ache. I feel disappointed when people take advantage of other people. It is unprofessional and unethical charging someone for a treatment they did not receive. It was my first and obviously last time in this place. read more

I've been coming here for over/almost 2 years now. I've been to bunches of masseuses all over San Diego over 25 years now. This place by infinite miles is the best in San Diego. 500 stars. They are kind and talented people with magic hands and great energy that really care about their customers. Energy vibes are important (not just technique). The location is a vintage building in the older part of downtown and is a cool little spot for a real relaxation groove. Honestly, I've never had a sub par massage here. Never, never... There are lots of options for services. I usually just get massages, but last month I partook in a facial by Rachel. Wonderful!!!! I went to the Relaxology Room today for my first massage. I was greeted by Alana. She is warm, inviting and friendly. I did some brief paperwork and then was brought to the massage room. Claudia was my masseuse today. She is very methodical and caring regarding your comfort. Her massage was really excellent. She used hot compresses, she rub me with hot stones and just seemed to know where my sore spots were. I never had this hot stone treatment before and was very impressed with how deep it puts heat into your muscles. Needless to say I was impressed and I will be back and I will be asking for Claudia! FYI I'm a big guy and she was still able to work all my Kinks out. read more

I hesitate to write this review because I don't want the word to get out. I have been around the massage-block in San Diego, and this place is by far not only the BEST, but CONSISTENTLY the best I've ever been to. It is small but beautiful, intimate, and extremely clean. I immediately feel relaxed when I walk in, not like I'm entering an over-priced pretentious spa where people are nice to you just because of the high price tag. Everyone here is friendly in a calm, relaxed, honest way. I tend to ask a lot of questions and they are always so happy to share their knowledge. So professional and patient, really listen and adjust treatments accordingly. I have had massages from at least 4 different therapists here and each one has been just as good as the last (Tai, Tori, Kristin, and Alana to name a few). I always get deep-tissue and they are truly the best, deepest deep-tissue massages I've ever had in 15+ years of massages. They found muscles I didn't even know I had. They understand that I really want to be worked on, not just pampered. I have had massages at more expensive well-known spas/resorts around S.D. but those all pale in comparison. I also just had a facial here for the first time, and that treatment was also the best facial I've ever had. Rachel was awesome, the experience so relaxing I almost fell asleep, and most importantly I didn't just feel pampered, but actually FELT and SAW visible results. I can't believe my luck in finding a place that has the best massages and the best facials in one easy place. It's about time I wrote a review for Alana's business! I have been a client of hers for quite awhile now, and she is short of nothing but amazing. I have never had such great massages until finding Alana. She is super receptive to what level of pressure you like, and is very consistent. She will ask if there are certain areas of the body you want to be focused on, and if not, she will give an overall body massage. I always feel great after leaving. I've had lower back issues for quite some time now. Alana's massages have greatly helped my back and from keeping it from acting up. She really knows how to hit those sore areas. The environment of her business is super calming, warm and you don't ever feel rushed. Not only is she affordable, but extremely knowledgeable, understanding and flexible! I have been suffering with horrible neck and back pain. I kept coming back to the Relaxology Room ratings in Yelp due to the reviews. I thought the prices were a bit high compared to some of the other places and for a senior citizen that is an important piece of the decision. I called and spoke with Alana who is very cheerful and inviting. I scheduled the appointment and Loni was my masseuse. When I arrived the place is very calm and inviting. No wait at all. I told Loni where my pain was and proceeded with 90 minutes of massage. Loni is a petite young woman with fingers of steel. She did a awesome job every step of the way. I had the deep tissue so it does tend to be very uncomfortable when your muscles are like a rock but she was great. I'll be going back for sure and would highly recommend this for massage therapy. read more

I've been to this place multiple times and up until yesterday, I only had positive experiences. I had Luciana who did Swedish with cupping. I've had hundreds of massages at this point in my life and she had the least pressure I've ever experienced. I asked for more pressure and she stated that would be considered "deep tissue." I've had deep tissue before and there's no way that level of pressure provided could be construed that way. Cupping experience was also less than prior massages I've had with different therapists there. She didn't use as many, the treatment was shorter, and I went away having the same issues I came on with. In conclusion, if I do return to The Relaxology Room, it would be with a different masseuse and with clear expectations of pressure and cupping time outlined beforehand. read more

First off I want to thank Alana ( the owner ) for being so understanding about my crazy work schedule. She contacted me when a desired time I wanted opened up, which worked out perfectly. She went above and behind to accomdate me, for which I am very thankful. I was able to enjoy a relaxing massage right before the holiday. The ambience is perfect, and lots of parking in the back so theres no need to walk a far distance to your car. This was my second massage at the Relaxology room, the first time I had Hannah which was phenomenal. My second time was with Courtney, also another spectacular massage. I fell asleep at the end, which is really hard for me to do. Courtney also made sure to ask me what areas I wanted to focus on.
