If you take a immediately a left, you will find building 5 and look for the blue door on the right hand side of the building (if you're facing the building). My first appointment I just had medium pressure (deep tissue is an additional 10 dollars), it was pretty good but I definitely would have enjoyed it more with more pressure. After my first appointment, she helped me schedule my next appointment on the spot. I had to reschedule my second appointment due to a schedule conflict, but again, Spa Zone was prompt at returning my phone call to reschedule my appointment. This time, I asked for deep tissue and it really helped relieved some of the muscle aches and tightness I've built up. I really like that she does a bit of the face and scalp massage as well. Unfortunately, my massage experience fell well short of what I expected, particularly for a service that ultimately cost nearly $250. My therapist spent considerable time asking about my sleep habits and other matters that felt more diagnostic than relevant to the massage. Yet surprisingly little attention was given to the basic questions I expect from an experienced massage therapist: Where are you hurting? Are you comfortable on the table? Is the temperature comfortable? Is the pressure appropriate? I had to initiate those conversations myself. I had to stop the massage because I was uncomfortable on the table. I also endured the temperature until I finally spoke up. Even small details, such as repositioning the leg pillows, were overlooked unless I said something. Individually, these may seem minor, but collectively they are part of the care and attentiveness I expect from a high-end spa experience. The most frustrating issue was the pressure. I specifically booked a deep tissue massage, yet much of the massage felt closer to a light Swedish massage. I had to stop the therapist multiple times to request more pressure. After my first request, the pressure increased briefly and then returned to the same light pressure. After asking again with little improvement, I finally asked directly whether the therapist realized I had booked a deep tissue massage. At $200, I should not have to repeatedly ask to receive the service I reserved. After another request, the pressure suddenly increased dramatically. I was told this was a shiatsu technique and asked whether I was comfortable with it. I said yes. In fact, I enjoyed that portion of the massage enough that I was considering returning and specifically requesting shiatsu with the same therapist. Then came the problem: I was never told that using this technique would result in an additional $30 charge. I did not request an upgrade. I requested more pressure from the deep tissue massage I had already booked and was already paying for. If responding to that request meant changing my service to something that cost more, that should have been clearly explained to me before the additional charge was incurred, not discovered at checkout. With the added charge and mandatory 20% gratuity, my massage ended up costing approximately $250. The amount itself is not the primary issue. The lack of disclosure is. A customer has the right to know when a service is being changed in a way that increases the price and to decide whether they want to accept that additional cost. That is ultimately what disappointed me most about this experience. I was asked plenty of questions, yet the questions that directly affected my comfort, the quality of my massage, and what I would ultimately pay were not asked. I genuinely enjoyed the spa itself and would like to feel comfortable returning. My hope is that greater attention will be given to communication--both about a client's comfort and about any change in service that carries an additional cost. I certainly understand that different techniques may have different prices; I simply would have appreciated being informed and given the opportunity to decide. Just as the therapist needed information from me to provide the service, I needed clear information from the therapist to make informed choices about the service I was receiving and paying for.

The day started with my arrival at 9:45am for a 10:00am appointment. I stood in the front entrance for a good 15-20 minutes before anyone came out to greet me. I also walked around and said "hello" a few times but still nothing - thus the 4 stars instead of 5. Yes the entrance as other reviewers said is that of walking into a boutique or someone's house who has a bunch of knicknacks. They do sell a bunch of products and items that all have to do with love, light, and healing; but they do not try to sell you anything which is nice. After the initial greeting, I filled out the paperwork and was handed a nice big glass of white wine...yummy! I was taken to the back by Hilary...note: everyone here is super friendly. The first was a body scrub which I've never had done before. You keep your belongings with you, so there's on lockers or anything like that to deal with. For those of you who are modest, you are able to keep on undergarments should you choose, but wear something you don't mind throwing away after the scrub. Hilary was nice enough to warn me of this when I made the appointment. They do offer disposable underwear if needed. The scrub was AWESOME! I would totally do this again. I was nervous because I didn't know if this had to be applied on the front of my upper torso or not. To clear things up, this area is not touched at all for a massage or for the scrub :-) - For those who are claustrophobic...no fear...I am as well and had no issues here. It's like being cuddled in warm blankets...on a really cold day, that's super nice. The application of the scrub felt awesome. It's like an awesome mini massage with exfoliation. After the scrub you get wrapped up and lay there for 25 minutes. It's a bit long to lay there when your back is hurting, but I got over it with some meditation. You can also choose to not lay there for so long. After the shower comes a massage....So nice! Hilary takes queues from the customer. If you want to talk, she talks. If you want silence, she's quiet. Such a great experience. I had a facial as well, but the person is the same person who gave me the wine but never told me her name. She was very friendly and did well with my sensitive skin and tinted my brows and lashes. The room this is done in makes you feel a little exposed. While there are sheer lace curtains from the bottom to 3/4 of the way up on the windows...it's still a little hard to relax in that room feeling exposed and hearing all of the outside street noise and voices from people walking by. But this has nothing to do with the service. Just be aware of the ambiance so you know what to expect. All in all, I would go back for sure. The downside is that it's in Smyrna/Marietta area and I live in Cumming, so it's quite the haul for a spa treatment.

She booked me with Renee. I got a call day of for an earlier timeslot, which I accepted. Well Kneaded is easy to locate in Decatur. I arrived about 10 minutes early. Renee greeted me as soon as I walked in. She told me all about the great services that are offered. They have classes for couple massage, and a few other. Let me say I have a shoulder issue being addressed via PT and meds. Renee took such amazing care to give me a great full body massage and lightly addressed my shoulder. She was a wealth of knowledge and extremely pleasant. I had a wonderful experience with her. I would definitely return after my shoulder is healed or closer to 90%. For the past 7 months I have been coming here for great service and because they are black owned. I always saw the nail tech, Nish, who always did an amazing job on my nails and I received several compliments and I always tried to refer her services. I was never late to my appointments and always tipped well. I even purchased 10 boxes of girl scout cookies from the cousins of one of the employees as well as purchase jewelry from their salon. I got my nails done for an upcoming cruise and a day before the cruise my thumb nail completely broke off. I went online to try and schedule an appt but none were available so I messaged Nish on IG asking if she could squeeze me in to fix. Please realize, I was just there and got my nails done and we talked about the cruise I was going on. Nish responded to my message indicating that she was sorry my nail broke and and said she could see me but it would have to be before 5:30. I responded back indicating I could come at 12:15 or 1:45 and asked if I should soak my nail in acetone. I didn't hear from Nish so I came to the salon during one of those times I mentioned but I don't recall which one. Nish was able to fix my nail we all chatted I bought jewelry from another employee and actually over paid for it because I wanted to be supportive! Not once was I told that I didn't use correct procedure with coming to the salon. Nish just told me that she doesn't check her IG that often and she made sure I had the salon's number in my phone which I saved for future reference. Fast forward a few weeks, I tried to schedule a new appt and I got a message that I couldn't book online. I called the salon because I had the number saved now and I was told the owner would call me back. I didn't get a call back so I called the next day and asked for Joye to see if I could book over the phone. Nish answered the phone and said she blocked me from scheduling appointments because I made her feel uncomfortable with my walk in appointment. To say I was flabbergasted is an understatement. First, I apologized for making her feel uncomfortable because that definitely wasn't my intention. I asked why she felt uncomfortable and she said it's because they don't take walk ins. I then asked why she just didn't say she wouldn't be able to take me until I scheduled an appointment and she didn't really answer that. I once again apologized and let her know that her continued conversation with me on IG implied that she could squeeze me in without an appointment and perhaps she could have clarified at that time because I could have gone somewhere else and just gotten my nail painted white. It's not as if I wanted it done for free...I paid for my nail to be fixed. I asked Nish if I could give her feedback if she was open to receiving it and she cut me off and said no, she was not open to receiving it. I asked if it was possible to see one of the other nail techs considering I made her feel uncomfortable as I still wanted to support the business and she said no. I don't want to gaslight anyone so if she felt uncomfortable I can respect and acknowledge that even thought it was not my intention to make her feel that way. However, a business should always be open to feedback. Considering Nish was not willing to listen to that feedback I will post it here in hopes that the owners can use that in the future so they don't lose clients that faithfully advocated to others about the services received for a situation that could have been prevented. 1. If a tech is messaged about appts on IG chat immediately let the customer know that all appointments have to be booked online. 2. Don't reschedule appts via messaging on IG because I have had an appt rescheduled even though looking back, this is something I could have done on the app. 3. On your online booking engine...put your phone number on it so it's easily found and I don't have to do a separate google search to find it. 4. Be clear about what your expectations are up front and save everyone time and money.
