My husband and I decided on a mini-getaway to Atlantic City this week. We got a great deal on a room at the Borgata, and booked an 80 minute Swedish Couples Massage at Spa Toccare. Our appointment was at 1pm, so we arrived 30 minutes early as suggested. We paid prior to the massage, and including tax/gratuity it came to $683. Definitely the most we have ever spent on a couple's massage, but it's not often that we get to do these things together. We were sent back to separate waiting lounges. I was given a short tour of the spa facilities (which we had access to for the entire day). They had a living room waiting area with nuts/dried fruits/tea/juices to enjoy while waiting, and comfortable couches. The spa was fully equipped with showers, and a large area to do your hair and makeup afterwards. The jacuzzi area was also very welcoming (see my check-in photo), and a nice sauna. When it was time for my massage, my therapist came to get me and escorted me through several dimly-lit (calming) hallways to a private spa room that my husband and I would be receiving our massage in. The private room had a couch, fireplace, full bathroom, snack and drink bar, and our own private jacuzzi. The spa beds were nice and warm when we undressed and slid in. My massage was so relaxing. My husband and I both commented to each other that the pressure could have been a little deeper (typically a few minutes into a massage a therapist will ask how the pressure is, but ours did not). My therapist did offer a glute massage, which I've never had before. It was really nice, and I never once felt overexposed or uncomfortable. After our massage was over, we were given 30 minutes to have the room to ourselves and enjoy the jacuzzi. I really liked that because often times I feel rushed to get dressed and get out of massage rooms. After I returned to the women's area, I did end up taking a shower, but I felt the shower area could have been cleaner. The shower that I stepped into (which had fresh towels at the door and a fresh floor mat indicating that it would be clean for the next person), had a dirty/used wash rag in the shower and several hairs on the shower wall that were unappealing to me. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves. It was a nice way to have a relaxing experience together. read more

This time I got a therapist with warmer and softer hands. she was nice but she didn't use enough pressure and she didn't ask if the pressure was okay. Maybe I should have said something but it's the therapist's job to ask when they start. I don't think I'll ever be able to fully relax getting a massage b/c I used to be a massage therapist so maybe I'm too critical. Maybe I should teach my husband to massage :) read more

They ask you to pay and they include tip BEFORE you have the service done. My experience was awful. I went for a bikini wax, the wax was too hot and burnt my skin. I went home to shower and had to peel the rest of the wax off. I will never go back. I called twice and left messages no one got back to me. I live local and will not recommend this spa to anyone!! read more

Love the Borgata Spa and especially the people who work the main desk. They make the experience extra special by accomodating every possible request you might have. They are the true talent behind this operation. My massage therapist was also terrific and the services associated are ok, but not exceptional, The property would do itself a favor to upgrade the amenties that come along with the service, namely snacks and drinks. Again a big thank you to the people who work the desk. Can't remember the gentleman's name but look for him to help you. He was terrific. read more

My massage was wonderful. Went on a birthday spa date with my twin brother who is disabled. The staff showed extra care to him to make sure his experience was relaxed. The men's and women's steam and sauna and hot tub areas are separate for privacy which was nice. read more

I just got off the phone with the manager of the spa - my daughter and I were very unhappy with how we were treated at the end, we were there for the day and at 8pm the lifeguard told us we had to leave - and would not let us use the bathroom to change out of our wet bathing suits. The spa attendant would not let us quickly change either - at the end of the day, with no one there. we were only there for the day so we had no room to go change in, but even if we did we would not want to walk around dressed like that. The manager offered us a day pass for our trouble - we won't be going back and I will be contesting the (very high!) charges on my credit card. read more

Had 3 days use of their spa. You can have a massage taken care of and then head to the spa area. Enjoyed the clean and attentive care at Borgata Spa Toccare. Upon check in at the front desk - I was directed into the men's Spa area. Once there - the staffer gave me a tour and gave me direction on use of their electronic mens private locker. In the locker was your slippers and robe. Your choice to enter the mens Spa area in swim trunks (since family swimming pool is next door) or nothing at all (back to nature). Just showered down before entering into the warm heated jet pool / lounge. Fresh clean towels was plenitful. Staffer always checking on spa pool chemistry, towels for all the guest, making sure guests are fine etc.. Both the Steam room and Dry Sauna room were clean and large. The warm spa had terrific strong jets to work on your sore arms and back from the slots. Great place to VEGETATE for half the day before working out at the casino again. read more

I visited this spa for my birthday, on March 26, 2016. The massage was a gift from my husband, since we staying at the Borgata for the birthday weekend. I have received easily hundreds of massages in my long life, and the massage I had at Toccare was near the bottom. My masseuse seemed to have lacked any training in massage. She poured oil directly onto my skin in large amounts, and it splashed on the sheets and back onto me. She had no technique, and did not appear to know anatomy. Rather, it felt as if she was trying to rub lotion into my body instead of applying any kind of pressure, and in directions that didn't accomplish anything. I called the spa six days later to offer my feedback, since I didn't want to complain in front of my husband. I asked to speak to the spa supervisor, and when the man answered the phone and I explained my experience, his response was displeasing: "Ma'am, it's been a week." This isn't a respectful way to speak to a client who has just dropped $125 on a below-standard 50 minute massage. I explained that the purpose of my call was not to get anything from him, but rather to provide feedback that he can use with future clients. Needless to say, he sounded less than gracious. My advice: Save your money and get a massage at a legitimate spa in your hometown. read more

This spa is unbelievable. My BF booked me a massage and facial back-to-back, so I was able to enjoy a few glorious hours here. I should have arrived earlier - they let you spend as much time as you want enjoying the hot tubs and small pool and snacks (fruit, cheese, water, tea) in the tranquil lobby. Def bring a bathing suit to enjoy the pools - they are female or male only so no need to feel self concious. Staff was very friendly, professional and proficient. Prices were reasonable for massage ($100 for 1hr) and average for facial ($140). Highly recommended. read more

Would give this place 0 stars for the unprofessional attitude of the staff. I tried to book a spa pedicure at Immersion spa and was transferred to Spa Toccare. We were told to arrive 10 minutes early. We arrived at 1:45 for our 2:00 pm "plush" pedicures. The pedicure was supposed to be 50 minutes and it was slightly less. We started late and ended early. My nail tech was nice enough but couldn't wait to be done. It is not a spa chair, but I have seen similar set ups at the Norwich Spa at Foxwoods. The difference is Norwich (and Red Door etc) treat their customers with respect and it is a truly relaxing experience spa experience. I cannot recommend coming here for a spa experience or anything really. Maybe if you're desperate, and even then avoid. They charge spa prices ($65) for a pedicure but you get the same service as a regular nail salon--for more money. No warm towel or access to spa amenities (steam room/sauna). Horrible management. My polish job was patchy and uneven. You are guaranteed to leave feeling ripped off. Ask to speak to the manager "Renee" and you'll get A condescending retort that it isn't a spa but a salon. Ah, so that's why you charge spa prices. She has clearly never been to a spa outside of Tocarre. All other spas that offer pedicures offer amenities. To get rid of me, she offered (aside from her contempt) a "free" pass to the spa side. I was too upset to enjoy it. I wish I had listened to the other reviews. I thought the experiences they described were unique to them. Mine was almost the same (right down to the snot nosed boy behind the desk). Disappointed is an understatement. read more

Not as great an experience as you'd hope given the price. Almost $400 for 100 minute deep tissue massage, $200 for 50 minutes (once they add in tax/automatic gratuity). The massage itself was only OK, she worked out some kinks, but she used this slick lotion/oil that made feel cold and slimy. The robes they give you could use an update. The waiting area isn't relaxing, there's bright lights and it is right by the reception so you hear people talking and see them walking in and out the entire time. I went to Borgata spa/salon for some facial waxing. I never expected to walk out with a 1 inch wide "burn." I have had waxing done for years. Sometimes I have had some pinkness but never a noticeable rough patch. It looks awful. Even worse was their reaction -- lots of bureaucracy about having to go through medical and then their risk manager to offer a discount for the inconvenience. Who needs it! Really unthinkable -- poor customer experience. I will not be using the salon in the future for anything. read more

Amazing experience! Thank you, Dawn! I have been to many spas and this by far was one of the very best. The spa was well equipped with high protein snacks and beverages in the waiting area. The 100 minute deep tissue massage with Dawn made my eyeballs roll to the back of my head! The whirlpool and steam rooms were wonderful. I was annoyed I had to get in my car to drive home. :(. Let me start by saying I get massages every month and am familiar with the typical massage/ spa experience. I was excited to get a massage at Spa Toccare and assumed it would blow me away given the hotel and high price point. Unfortunately my therapist was less than stellar. She was not very friendly and i definitely felt like "just another number". The woman manning the lounge on the other hand was warm, friendly and helpful. When I told my therapist I had a few problem areas and asked for more pressure she said that was not within the parameters of the massage. The pressure was very light and I wish I was told the Swedish massage is light pressure before paid. My therapist claimed with an attitude it was medium pressure, that's all she could do and she was trying to "help me". Giving me an attitude is not helping me. I received terrible service, bad bedside manner and for $160 for 50 minutes it was unacceptable. The fact that tips are included does not incentivize therapists to be friendly nor accommodating. I would not visit this spa again. read more

I went to Spa Toccare today, which was the second time I've been here. The first time was a great experience - attentive staff, quiet atmosphere, just peace. This time couldn't have been more different. It started with one of the attendants giving me a hard time for coming in without paperwork, even though I had already been there this morning and left to grab breakfast. Thankfully, the attendant I saw first thing in the morning came by and set things straight. After a couple hours getting into relaxing mode, I was informed by the same attendant that I was not allowed to use my phone in the pool / lounge area, but I could use it in the tv lounge area. I asked if I could read my kindle in the pool area and was told I couldn't use anything with a camera because people complain that I might be filming them. Annoying, and it sucks when I just want to read in a relaxing atmosphere. Get with the times and if you are walking around naked, then you don't care what's happening around you obviously. When I let the attendant know I was going to the main pool (to talk to my girlfriend because I couldn't text from my phone), he asked if I had my bathing suit on. I felt like I was treated like a child the whole time I was there even though I'm 32 and been to my share of spas before. On top of this, there was a group of stereotypical jersey shore guys that used all of the towels in an hours time and the towels were not replenished the entire time I was there (arrived at 9:30 and left at 3:30). There's something wrong with that. There was also a patron that stuck his toe in a jacuzzi jet and got shocked. He proceeded to make this an ordeal that lasted two hours, where the jets weren't on as a result and maintenance was talking to the patron in the "relaxing" lounge for 30 minutes. Additionally, the shower curtains had mold on the inside in two different stalls I used. No excuse for that...Needless to say, I was not able to relax at all today and I'm very disappointed in how the staff handled all of the problems that occurred today. read more

When you go to a spa you expect great service and to be pampered. What we got here was the exactly the opposite. John the manager was completely unaccomdoatiing, condescending and rude. My friends and I had 3 appointments at the barbershop and wanted to use the locker room to clean up before our shaves. Access to the locker room is given to people who receive spa treatments no matter how minimal yet the 30 minutes at the end of the day that we wanted to use the locker room for would not be accommodated and were told we each would need to pay an additional $60. Keep in mind that this was at the end of the day and we wanted to use the locker room for 30 minutes. Hotel and casinos make these accommodations all the time to show their customers they care. At this place they simply say "there is notning that I can do" and keep repeating themselves like mindless robots. Needless to say neither my friends nor I will ever return to this place that puts so little effort into making their customers happy, especially by not allowing use of a facility that would cost them nothing extra. read more
