So naturally, I felt like a VIP. I took a nice, warm shower in the super-clean shower stalls. Afterwards, I soaked in the hot tub for about 10-15 minutes, as I was accompanied -- the whole entire time -- by a lovely woman who "was assigned to me" to make sure my entire stay was extraordinary. (By the way, my attendant regularly served me cups of tea. . . talk about personalized client service!) So, from the in-floor hot tub, I went into the steam sauna; I could've chosen to walk into the dry sauna, but I just didn't feel like it. Once again, I had the whole sauna room to myself! I loved that! Then, I was directed to go to the Quiet Room to relax and meditate for 15-20 minutes before my full-body scrub (which included a deep soak in a wooden tub), and full-body massage. I HAD A FANTASTIC TIME. I stayed for a little over three hours!!! Ann Karen Day Spa was simply a beautiful place. It was tastefully decorated. Every attendant was so friendly. The Himalayan salt room is the only shared area. The interior is well maintained, although it feels a bit outdated. the cleaning staff was attentive and kept the spa clean. I arrived 45 minutes before my massage so I could use the Himalayan salt room and sauna, and take a shower before my 60-minute massage. Overall, my experience was good. They charge $50 for a day pass. I would love to go back and use the spa again sometime in the future.

worst massage in town. no lie…read more at least for my experience. i brought my girlfriend here for a couple massage for her birthday. 90 minute couples massage. first five minutes was mild at best. we had to ask them to massage with a little bit more effort. shortly after it was pure sharp elbows, digging into our backs from the weight of their bodies, which overhang above. they use gravity and their elbows in an effort to avoid actually expanding effort or using their muscles at all. i don't know about you, but that's not a massage to me. shortly after i looked over to my side to notice that the man that was massaging, my girlfriend was sitting down on the bed lightly massaging her upper back with no more than a few fingers contact. there was no effort or work there. just sitting lounging doing the absolute minimum contact possible. this was almost the same for me however, my masseuse, also using only one hand, would pause for many seconds at a time before exerting some pressure then again another break of many seconds before pressure again. she was systematically conserving energy and then applying the minimum level of pressure from one hand only. after a couple warnings, she finally started to get that. i am not gonna leave us alone and she started massaging more correctly. then excuse the man who was pretending to massage my girlfriend and replaced him with a woman that was massaging me. then they sent one man to massage me who was lazy and barely doing anything so let him go when they sent him them yet. another one who is doing the same thing. at about 45 minutes i finally told him to leave me alone and just continue with my girlfriend. i don't know how it's possible that others aren't reporting this more often, but i cannot speak on what i do not know but what i do know is if you are sore, tired, and just looking for some muscle, relief and relaxation and you expect some discernible level of quality and effort than do not come here. these people do not care at all about giving you a good experience and i gave them multiple chances they are lazy and do not care about their customers at least not for my girlfriend and i if you doubt me at all, please read my other reviews. i'm very honest in my reviews and i take great care to be fair. and i write these to help others. it certainly doesn't provide me any benefit other than that. thank you for reading and feel free to contact me if you'd like more information

Based on those previous experiences, I had no hesitation spending the money to do it again. Unfortunately, this time was completely different. I walked out with my skin feeling dry and tight, with none of the results I had experienced before. My skin wasn't moisturized, plump, or glowing. For $390, I expected to see and feel a noticeable difference, especially since I already knew what this treatment was capable of. The technician was informative and explained what she was doing throughout the facial, which I appreciated. However, the overall result was still extremely disappointing. I don't know if the products have changed, the treatment has changed, or if something else was different, but something clearly wasn't the same as my previous experiences. I thought that sounded like a great price, but as with most things, when something sounds to good to be true, it most likely is. This spa is inside the Arcadia Athletic Club (previously Arcadia All-pro). When we first arrived, we heard loud, blaring music coming from upstairs, where the entrance to the spa was. There was a dance-cardio class going on at the same time as our scheduled massage, and it was literally on the other side of the wall where we were getting our massages. The masseuses were very gracious in putting us in the same room to give us our massages, which was about the only pleasant aspect of the massage. For the first 15 minutes of the massage, we heard what sounded like a club remix of massage music and salsa (from the class outside), so it was very distracting and hard to tune out. Second, the masseuses did not use enough lotion/oils, so much of the rubbing was not smooth and caused some chaffing. Lastly, my fiancee's masseuse did not ask her if her massage pressure was alright, and my fiancee's neck has been extra sore for over a week now as a result of too much pressure. I know what you're thinking, if the pressure was too much, why didn't she say something? Well, as a male, i know that for one thing, ego is a factor, and you rarely tell your masseuse that her pressure is too much. Regardless, it's the masseuse's responsibility to make sure that her pressure is appropriate, and for a Swedish massage, the pressure should not be comparable to a deep tissue massage. Finally, though the massage grants you access to the gym facilities, Steam room, Sauna, etc. don't expect a Burke Williams' type experience. You would be using the gym facilities with other gym members who are there for their workout, and you will not get that isolated, peaceful experience. I'm sorry, but this was a one and done for me.
