This was my first time visiting Ann Karen Day Spa. The front desk staff was friendly. The women's and men's areas have separate entrances and lead to different waiting areas, with their own saunas, steam rooms, and jacuzzis. The Himalayan salt room is the only shared area. The interior is well maintained, although it feels a bit outdated. the cleaning staff was attentive and kept the spa clean. I arrived 45 minutes before my massage so I could use the Himalayan salt room and sauna, and take a shower before my 60-minute massage. Overall, my experience was good. They charge $50 for a day pass. I would love to go back and use the spa again sometime in the future. read more

Nice getaway in the middle of the city! Pretty sizable spa with salt/detox rooms, a quiet area, jacuzzi, wet & dry saunas, and showers. Men's and Women's locker rooms have room attendant who's on every wet towel and makes sure you're always with water. For the service, I supported a charitable auction and received a certificate that was applied towards their machine conducted "Hot Stone" massage. I had slight communication issues between my mid Chinese and her pro level Chinese, but I think it helps detox, healing and circulation. If you've ever gotten a facial that incorporated NuFace, it was a larger, higher voltage version of that for the body. The technician targets certain muscles that essentially make you move involuntarily like a puppet. I was refreshed following. Parts of the treatment were painful for me but bearable. I came here to get cupping very recently. I had a very pleasant experience exploring their facility while waiting for my cupping appointment. I very much enjoyed their herbal scented sauna but I ended up loving their sea salt pebbbled sauna more. It is very calming and zen in these zen filled spaces. I also tried their dry sauna which was great but you just have to make sure you have the capacity to handle really high temperatures. The cupping experience was the highlight of the day besides getting quality bonding time with my favorite friend who brough me here. Great customer service, very spacious spa with lots of parking in lot. There are two sections: male and female locker room and the spa rooms are inside. There's a jacuzzi steam room showers and dressing rooms all inside. They have a separate quiet (cell free) room for you to drink your cup of tea/water while you wait to be called for your treatment. At first I was a bit hesitant of this spa because of the variety of services they offered: from eye lash extensions to body treatments so I wasn't sure which choice would be subpar compared to main concentrations.. But the combo package we got was great! It was a great experience. We overall do recommend this spa. Communication: front staff is bilingual Masseuse: I had a little bit of trouble communicating with her, and wish I had a better run down of what to expect with the different steps of the process: ie) i felt a bit strange initially sitting in the tub with her watching me for 15 mins (lol, then after when she asked if I had felt some perspiration and I said yes she said ok let's move you to the table) haha, got it.. tub initially is to open my pores, scrubbing occurs on the table. Treatment done: I did the milk bath package that was recommended to me since I was looking for a massage and facial package with a scrub so that was perfect! It even included a head massage! I feel really clean and relaxed after the treatment thank you!! Also to mention they are very pushy from standing in front of your exit route to going into the dressing room and jacuzzi to find you and try and sell their promo packages. They offered $3000/30 one hour massages which seemed like a steal but when we went to buy it then found out bait & switch the $3000 is now not with the worker we liked but instead is for a prepayment to get 20% off future visits. The other day I went in for a full body scrub and full Swedish Massage and left lighter than a feather. I really needed a day to relax and recharge and I was able to find that at the Ann Karen Spa. I went in not knowing what to expect but I am glad I did because they have all these different services and rooms to explore. Before my body scrub with CiCi I sat in the salt heated room for a bit, yea that's right, HEATED :) laying on the warm salt rocks felt grounding and relaxing. After the salt room I ventured out to the hot tub and then to the scrub. CiCi did a amazing job and I am very thankful for how gentle she was. I highly recommend and I will definitely do again. After the scrub I had a healing massage from Kaliq and I can not believe the difference I felt after. He is a healer who truly understands how to help someone when they are in pain. I have tension in my shoulder, neck and he has the skills to release that tension, and I am super grateful for that. POOR SANITIZATION. Been struggling with some skin rash ever since I got the Korean body scrub a month ago. Tried emailing the CEO but never got a response. The entire spa is poorly sanitized and I'm praying I don't have a skin infection. The sauna's smell horrific, truly a biohazard. I think that is what mold would smell like if I'm not wrong. I was so relaxed after my session I had to wait a whole day before I wrote a review. I just wanted to law there lol. So, I've been here twice so far and I absolutely loved every second of it. I would spend all day here if I could. The first time around I was able to get a full body scrub down. It's a little rough. But it's EXACTLY what I needed and wanted. 2nd time was sooo great. I was in need of a relaxing spa day, so I decided to give this spa a shot because of it's convenient location to me. I called over the phone to make an appointment for one of their services, but the person who picked up only spoke Chinese, so I was unsuccessful at that. When I came, there was only one employee who spoke English. I just walked in without an appointment and that person at the front showed me a booklet of their services. Contrary to what's listed in the booklet, they do not offer all of those services. They said that they no longer give manicures and pedicures, and they only give some of the massages/body scrubs, even though there are so many listed. After choosing what I wanted, I was given a tour of the place, and was told to relax in the ladies' area until it was ready. The showers and locker room are pretty clean. There is also a jacuzzi, which I did not use. No swimsuits are allowed. I like that they offer self-serve tea and water. I ended up getting a Korean body scrub, which was my first body scrub ever. I felt very clean after, but the lady scrubbed some areas of my body too aggressively. I developed a big bruise, but didn't think much of it because I thought it would just go away soon. However, it has been about 3 weeks since the body scrub and the bruise has only gotten worse even though I have been putting medicine on it. At this point, it seems like the bruise is going to be permanent and that really upsets me. This scares me from getting a body scrub ever again. There is a small, heated room that both genders can meet in, which also leads to the pink salt room. I did not see anything special about this, as plenty of other spas offer these as well. I was given a pair of sandals and there are pajama-like clothing that are available in the locker room. For the price that I paid, this experience was not very worthwhile. I would rather drive a little further for a better spa. Amenities are decent and the employees were fairly nice, but it can be difficult to communicate with them if you don't speak Chinese, more specifically Mandarin. read more

I checked in for my appointment and got a tour of the facility. Then a locker was assigned to me to put my belongings. Inside the locker was a robe, towel, and slippers. The shower room has shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. They also have pink jammies to wear. In the Pink Himalayan Salt Room, I relaxed and drank hot tea. I was also offered tea, water, and a bowl of red bean soup as I sat in the lounge area. ::Facial:: I got 75 minutes facial, it was nice and refreshing. The facial also came with an upper body massage. As a Chronic Neck & Back suffer, the various Eastern Type Massages that they offer are a welcome relief from the traditional limited options you will find at other establishments. The cupping massage utilizes a cupping machine that, from, head to toe (in my case, neck to toe, works out knots, improves circulation and oxygen throughout the body (this would be a easy definition of the term used in Chinese Medicine as "meridians") I have been to this spa over 10 times and have never felt out of place or pressured to purchase any services other than those I have requested. read more

Many better massage spas available, save your money. I called in and asked the price for a couples massage and they quoted me a price of $125. That's a standard price for a couples massage. I went in for service and the spa was empty and bare bones, and the massage was solid. However, after services they insisted that the price they quoted was for one massage and not two. I don't know about you, but I hate when businesses do these kind of deceptive bait and switch practices. Tells me all I need to know about them. If they're reading this, know you can't get away with that kind of stuff. People will talk. Your spa is empty because you do dishonest stuff like this.
