You get multiple opinions at one time and there's always someone with a new idea. Science is alive and well at Cedars Sinai. The staff is amazing. The nurses and the clinical partners work as a team. No one ever waits for the other one to do their job. They do their jobs together. It's very proficient and efficient. Even the cleaning people are friendly. They always have a smile on a good morning. I think whoever hires staff at Cedars deserves accolades for their ability to find the best of the best in every aspect of the hospital. Believe it or not I enjoyed the food. I more than often ordered the salmon and the sweet pea soup. I was moved to a long-term care Hospital and I really miss the salmon :0) I would give Cedars Sinai 10 stars if I could.

Unfortunately, the administration needs to address the patient care experience. My father has been in a hallway instead of a hospital room for two days. He has had no privacy, has been forced to sleep with the hallway lights on all night, and has no direct access to a bathroom. While I understand hospitals can become overcrowded, these conditions are not appropriate for any patient and make an already difficult situation even more stressful for both patients and their families. The medical staff has done an outstanding job despite these circumstances, but the hospital administration needs to ensure patients receive the basic dignity, privacy, and accommodations they deserve.

With 13 chairs, there were 15 people in the waiting room. The front desk staff were reminding people that there is another waiting room on a different floor. But why do this. Why stagger the patients like this. I'm sure there is a reason, but this is LA. We had plans and reservations. Made these plans because a 10 minute procedure at 1:15pm would allow us to skip traffic. But by the time we were actually done, it took us an 1:20 minutes to get home. By the time we left there was 1 person in the waiting room. Unless the doctors and nurses love ending their day by 3pm, it just makes no sense to overcrowd your facility, your waiting room and cause such a painful delay in being seen. Ridiculous! While the professionalism, the care and the procedure were outstanding - this isn't a heart surgery. And the overall experience takes away from the hard work that the doctors and nurses put into their patients. Do better please with time-management, over-scheduling, over-crowding, and if people are late to appointments - fine them, but don't create a system of waiting for over an hour if you asked us to be there at a certain time - we expect to be seen in a reasonable time.

Woke up in recovery to a lot of noise in the form of nurses talking very loudly. So much unnecessary anxiety brought on by a seemingly unempathetic nursing stuff. The billing department made it worse as an error on my bill could not be resolved. No one would call back and when I finally did get somebody all they wanted to do was gaslight and obfuscate! Paying for it today. As a patient of a doctor that uses this facility it's unfortunate not to mention impossible to avoid. Maybe that's the part of the problem? They don't need to care because theres no accountability? If you have a choice, I would not even consider this surgical center.

The front desk lady Linda unfortunately made me feel rushed and as if I was just a number.. I get it, you may have a job that you are use to, and that everyone comes in as if they don't care about you. But believe it or not, we do! I do! I care about you because you are part of an important journey for something that's so important. MY SURGERY! This is my eyes and anxiety is high! Maybe not for all, but for some. So please Linda be patient and just slow it down, speak to us as people that are just as important as you. We want to be nice and speak, we are humans! So don't get all upset or assume we are upset because we want to take our time with the paperwork and read to understand what we are signing. We are all on different journey's in this thing called life! So I hope you the best and care for those that you help today and any day moving forward. Again nothing against anyone here, because you are all great people and I'm forever grateful that I came in and had my surgery done with Dr. Hura and all the nurses cared for me. -Rommel/ Small Paws Cremations

Let me start by saying that the only reason this facility is receiving a negative review is because…read moreof our interaction with Linda O. at the front desk. My mother had a scheduled retina surgery at this surgical center, with a 6:00 AM operative start time and a 5:00 AM check-in. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Linda, who immediately appeared disengaged and uninterested. While checking us in, she requested an ID and insurance card, which is standard protocol. I explained that we had an electronic copy of the insurance card. She responded, in a noticeably dismissive tone, that they require a physical copy and could not accept an electronic version. As someone who works in the medical field, I am fully aware that electronic insurance cards are widely accepted. I politely offered to email or fax the information, but she stated that it "wouldn't matter" because their emails can take up to 30 minutes to come through. Shortly after, she located a copy of the insurance card within the paperwork already sent over by my mother's doctor's office the week prior. This lack of preparation was concerning, as these documents should have been reviewed well before the day of surgery. The remainder of the check-in paperwork was not clearly explained, and the overall delivery made us feel uncomfortable and, frankly, singled out. After our interaction, we observed her demeanor with other patients checking in. The tone and level of service she provided to them was noticeably warmer and more accommodating. Most of those patients appeared to be Caucasian and self-pay, while my mother is of Filipino descent with darker skin. The contrast in treatment was difficult to ignore. For a surgical center, where patients are often anxious and vulnerable, the front desk staff sets the tone for the entire experience. Compassion, professionalism, and preparedness are essential in that role. Unfortunately, our initial interaction fell far below that standard. That said, I want to emphasize that the remainder of our experience was excellent. The clinical staff, both pre- and post-operative, were attentive, professional, and kind. The anesthesiologist ensured my mother felt safe and well cared for. From a medical standpoint, she was in very capable hands. I sincerely hope this facility takes patient experience seriously and reevaluates the expectations and training of its administrative staff. What we encountered at check-in was unacceptable and does not reflect the quality of care provided by the clinical team.
