We were excited to try an AYCE sushi spot closer to home and decided to check out Space Bistro in Rockland, MA. With very little social media presence, we assumed it might be a hidden hole-in-the-wall gem -- unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. The menu was difficult to navigate, with most of it written in Portuguese and only vague English descriptions. It honestly felt like we were trying to study with a dictionary just to place our order. The AYCE option was also steeply priced at $60 per person, which made the overall experience even more disappointing. Service was slow and unhelpful -- there were no check-ins, simple requests like ginger and wasabi took a long time, and not everything we ordered even arrived. It also felt like we weren't particularly welcome, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. We also noticed that most of the guests dining there were European, and we were the only Asian customers in the restaurant, which added to the feeling of being out of place. Although their online presence did not indicate that reservations were required, we were told we could have a table only if we agreed to leave before the next reserved party arrived -- even though the restaurant was still more than half empty at the time. After nearly two hours, our group of four had only managed to receive about 12 pieces of sashimi, 5 hand rolls, and 5 maki rolls total. At that point, we gave up and realized we should have just ordered à la carte. The sushi quality itself was decent, but overly "bougie" in unnecessary ways -- the nigiri seemed brushed with oil and salt instead of showcasing clean, fresh cuts of fish. Additionally, many rolls contained cream cheese even when it wasn't listed, which is important for those who are lactose intolerant. Overall, we really wanted to like this place, but between the confusing menu, slow service, high price, and inconsistent execution, it fell short. Hopefully, they refine their process, because the concept has potential. We will not be coming back.

Went into space bistro this evening as a first timer. I had been seeing a lot of hype on tik tok with some very cool and interesting options they offer. I sat at the bar and told them I was there to place a takeout order and they were super friendly. I ordered a glass of wine to have while I waited for the food. They offer beer, wine and sake options for cocktails. The bartender was so nice and actually came over and gave me a sample of a sake beverage with passion fruit juice. I thought that was incredibly kind and it was very good ! It's something I wouldn't normally order but now that I have tried it I would definitely consider. The two menu options I took to go were the shrimp temaki and the shrimp hot dog thing lol. They aren't cheap that is one downside so unless you know this type of thing is up your alley, I think you're better off sticking to more simple menu items. Both things were great. Different. Lots of texture and flavors. Excellent crunch (even to go!). I will say that I believe they would have been more enjoyable had I dined in and my husband agreed. That being said I will absolutely be back and try more on their menu for dine in.

Really interesting sushi cuisine! I feel like I saw dishes I've never seen before at sushi restaurants. I came on a Friday night and had to wait a bit for a table but it was ok because they let us sit at the bar to wait. The service was solid. I really liked the Caesar salad and the Brie jow

That actually is a Cesar salad. Tons of cheese, and the flavor... out of this world.

I saw it in tik tok and had to heck it out. It did not disappoint. Great food, excellent service, quiet, fancy. Great for date night.

New place on the South Shore with some excellent sushi and rodizio. Great new concept. Wanted to try the all you can eat buffet. Spacious, clean, comfortable seating. Nicely decorated, delightful ambiance and music. Plenty of off street parking. Excellent service. Our waiter was attentive, polite, professional, courteous and friendly. A very big help with menu suggestions. Great menu variety. The all you can eat buffet is $60 per person and the selections are on a separate menu from the regular menu but with the extensive selections is quite a bargain. All you can eat sushi, top sirloin cap slices and desserts. Every dish, sushi, rodizio and desserts were prepared perfectly, fresh and absolutely delicious. I'm sure we've devoured our fair share. Highly recommend. Will definitely return and try the other items on the great menu.

I've been here multiple times and every time I go the food is hot , fresh , and so good! I usually don't post reviews but this is one of my favorite restaurants and service is always 10/10. Super clean and the staff know how to create a good professional vibe.

When we arrived just before 7 the restaurant was busy not not full. Our server, as he passed our table, said he would be right with us. We waited. And waited. And patiently. Because I could see our server. He was at a table of 7 and I knew he wasn't forgetting or ignoring us. Then he was at a table of 4. Then one of 5. Then ANOTHER that appeared to be about 7 people again. He also had at least 4 two tops. I couldn't see far enough behind me to expand on that count. When he did come to us, an undisclosed amount of time later, he was kind and thorough and not at all showing the stress I'm sure he was feeling. I saw only one other server the entire time we were there and I'm sure he was taking all of the tables in the dining room we couldn't see. I'm sorry I cannot remember our servers name. Both men were bald and one was wearing glasses. Ours was the one without the spectacles. He remained busy through our meal, and we enjoyed the entire thing. Burrata with prosciutto to start, and then a Wellington to split. Both were phenomenal. The drinks were amazing, even with accommodations for one ingredient I am allergic to. At one point one of our cocktail glasses was broken accidentally by someone not at our table and it felt like the entire FOH staff (all 5 of them lol) came to help clean up and make sure everything was cool. They were all so kind and had smiles on, even though I'm sure they were still too swamped to clean up the mess. Honestly, for our very first visit I'm sure I could have been upset at the wait and complained that our server was too busy, but erring on the side of caution I prefer to presume it was either an unusually busy night or someone had called out, leaving the restaurant short -staffed. Kudos to the whole team for working together and keeping positive attitudes on the floor. We loved our experience and look forward to returning.

Oysters were fresh and briny, octopus was very tender and the Chilean sea bass entree was a hit. My mom ordered the swordfish and although it was also tasty, if you're debating between the two fishes, definitely go with the sea bass. Hubby's 2 lb cowboy steak was impressive and cooked perfectly with plenty leftover. The kids' meals and all the sides were enormous, enough to feed an army. The dinner went off without a hitch and our server surprised us with a mile high chocolate cake on the house. Very memorable night and I would highly recommend for a date night or a special occasion.

Sunday evenings you would think aren't usually busy, but this past Sunday was crowded but luckily there were open seats at the bar. We love sitting at the bar. It's like a front row seat to all the action! They also have a great wine list. I ordered a glass from Burgundy and my husband had a beer. We skipped the starters and went straight to the entrees. I had their Roasted Cod which I did enjoy but lacked a bit of flavor. Although the sauce that came with it was superb! My husband had their Burger which looked nice and juicy. Oh and they have the best fries too. I couldn't help myself in grabbing just one. If you have not yet been to Alba on 53 then I highly recommend you add this as your next date night spot! Cheers~

The place is order at the counter and online with table seating inside and smaller table seating outside. The food menu offerings include pizza, calzones, salads, subs, paninis, pasta, burgers, sushi, poke bowls, fries, onion rings, fried calamari, chicken dumplings, meatballs, wings, chicken fingers, street tacos, mozzarella sticks, kids menu, cooler drinks (Coke & Pepsi), and baklava. The pricing seems pretty reasonable. Before going inside, I checked out their online ordering platforms, Toast (in-store menu prices) and DoorDash (higher prices/a few deals). I almost ordered the Haven roll on DD (BOGO), but I decided instead to order on Toast. I ordered the Baked Poblano Peppers ($9 plus tax) and the Bolognese ($14 plus tax) served with garlic bread. The estimated order time on Toast was 15 minutes, but my order was ready & packed in 25 minutes since my items required more prep time. I actually enjoyed some of my hot food at an outside table despite the wind. The portions were generous. The 2 baked stuffed poblano peppers with stuffed with a sweet ricotta & sausage mix with spinach and smothered in a savory tomato sauce, sort of like lasagna, but with peppers instead of noodles. The Bolognese was packed heavy into a foil container with pappardelle noodles, slow cooked meat, carrots, celery, herbs, in a rich creamy tomato sauce. The hot baked garlic bread was buttery. I repacked my food when I enjoyed enough and enjoyed the rest of the food the next evening.
