Just a wonderful restaurant. It was very busy as usual but we had reservations and were seated immediately. Tallas was our server. He is a seasoned server for sure and checked on us just enough to not be a bother. We started with goat cheese stuffed artichoke hearts.. served with some tastily dressed arugula greens and prosciutto. So good! I had an appetizer for my entree'. It was shrimp with spicy rapini served on a nicely piece of grilled bread. Yummy.. he had the amazing short rib in a demi glaze sauce with a fantastic mushroom risotto. I always have a taste of what he's eating and vice versa. Just a fun thing we always do. We each had a martini of our choice.. regular for me and espresso martini for him. The only reason it's not a 5 star is my shrimp were a bit over cooked and the bread became soggy which is never pleasant. But all the flavors were terrific. Pretty special place to dine. Very mediocre. Have been ~4 times in maybe the last 6 months. Started with takeout on a busy family night and the food was on point. Coupled with their desserts from Modern Pastry end up a great dinner. Thought it was a resurgence from a place we once loved. Dropped in a few times since and service and food are all over the map. Had a date night with one of my daughters and the waitress knew us, predicted our order, paced the food, food was meh, but service made it memorable for us. Red sauce varies week to week so much it's like different restaurants. Red sauce goes from bland to delicious to one night it was laden with jalapeño chunks! I mentioned that to the manager and they claim the supply chain is all the same for many years, which leaves it to training and consistency in the kitchen. I had dinner here with my colleagues while on a recent business trip. My manager tends to pick nice restaurants for team dinners so I was confident this would be a hit. This place is unique, beautiful, authentic, cozy and fun. The decor is unique and beautiful. The ambiance made me feel comfortable and cozy. This place is great for all occasions. Great spot for a romantic dinner for a large gatherings like ours. The food tasted very authentic. I ordered the chicken Parm, which was delicious. Everyone at my table really enjoyed their food and drinks. Very tasty and large portions. Cocktails were amazing. The service was great as well. I previously gave a 5 star review awhile ago. I ordered takeout recently got home and discovered an item was missing. I contacted the restaurant and spoke with the manager, told him about the inedible gnocchi, and missing balsamic sauce served with the pork chops and peppers dish. I ordered online and requested light on the Marsala sauce served with the chicken saltimbocca . The order had to much sauce the potatoes were ruined, what a mess. The manager just gave lip service. This type of food problem has happened a few times in the last couple of years, too bad. read more

Went there this Saturday night with a group of four. All o have to say is awful. Food really went down I went there about six months ago. Service awful the waiter said he use to wrk in the kitchen. Saw him once and then never again. The restaurants are all kids we complained about the cold coffee, my fruit Demario came with mussels and I said I was allergic they still brought them. We paid the bill left a 20 percent tip. And called the manager after we left she said oh I heard some issue at your table. Didn't even care I'll never go back. Food as awful. Reservation on a Sat night. Walked right in to table. Our waiter Rory was very pleasant and attentive. Colin our busboy was also very good. Apps of meatballs over sauce were good. Two big meatballs. The mussels looked huge but the actual mussels were rather tiny. Also tasted a tad fishy. Not enough t broth to dip bread in to . Entrees were chicken saltimboca that looked delish and I'm told tastes the same. I got an off the menu order of shrimp and scallop Fra diavolo...plenty of shrimp and 4 scallops. One issue off the bat was it can without my fettuccine. Kinda weird getting a plate with no pasta. Somehow someone forgot it.can't blame Rory because he didn't bring it out. I wasn't too fond of all the parsley in it. I find fresh parsley too overbearing in my sauce. The desert was a chocolate peanut butter mousse cake that was fresh and tasty. Always drove by Trattoria San Pietro Restaurant for years but never tried it. Decided to give it a try tonight. Nicely decorated restaurant located right off route 53 in Norwell. Waitstaff we're excellent. Our servers Allie and Dennis were awesome. Attentive, courteous, friendly and professional. The food was a bit disappointing, ehh. Ordered the Delmonico steak and wife ordered the shrimp scampi. The steak was cooked to perfection (rare) and delicious but the smashed potatoes and green beans were bland. The shrimp scampi was not good. Also bland. Shrimps we're well done, No garlic or seasoning and the pasta was swimming in some kind of tasteless oil. Desserts and drinks were ok. Prices were on the pricey side. Wouldn't rush back anytime soon. read more

The complimentary focaccia bread was good, but the Cesar salad we started with had such a strong garlic flavor it actually burned and left a terrible flavor in the mouth. The Fusilli with sausage and Broccoli Rabe was not much better. Huge chunks of the BR needed to be cooked more and cut up. It overpowered the dish, more BR than pasta. The sausage was tender but cut in large chunks that seemed like they were just thrown in. We opted to skip dessert. read more

We've been on the South Shore for 20 years now and have lived within 2 miles of this restaurant for the last 5 and we've never eaten here before. Not sure why. I think it's just not top of mind since you don't see it easily from the street. Anyway, I was able to get us a reservation last minute on Friday night, so we were excited about that. It's a very cozy, quaint authentic feeling space. Lots of attentive staff members. Food coming from every which direction. The meatballs were just OK - a little dense for my liking. The bread (focaccia) was really good and they gladly brought over more to go with our meals. The shrimp scampi was excellent. Just big enough of a portion. Our son had the chicken parm, which he enjoyed. The mousse cakes (chocolate, and peanut butter - all made by Royal Pastry) were excellent, and the cannoli, while a little runny, was still flavorful. This lovely atmosphere is perfect for nearly all occasions. Whenever my grandparents visit, we always eat at Trattoria. Many years ago, we brought my grandparents to Trattoria for the first time. Ever since that night, it is the only restaurant we go to with them (and the one they always specifically request). From the moment we sit down to the instant we leave, the experience is always pleasant and memorable. The drinks are delicious and refreshing. The food is flavorful and cooked to perfection. There's not much else I can ask for. We have created countless fond memories at this special restaurant. Lastly, I cannot end this review without including my personal favorites. I always order the Ravioli Di Zucca Canella (Cinnamon ravioli filled with pumpkin) as my entrée. These mouthwatering ravioli are served under a delicious cream sauce with dried cranberries, baby arugula and grilled chicken on top. It may sound like an odd combination to some, but trust me, the flavors work and it is delicious. This is my favorite Italian entrée I have ever had. We generally go to the Trattoria for a special occasion, but it could easily become our go-to any time we just want good food well prepared. My only fault might be the lack of a reasonable beer selection, but there are plenty of good breweries in the area when that's what I really want. They don't have a menu full of your traditional pasta and tomato sauce entrees. What they do have are inventive and interesting Italian takes on things like pork tenderloin, lamb and seafood. read more

We just left from our first visit at San Pietro, and it was very good! We shared a caesar salad, and each had pasta dishes. The pink cream sauce was delicious. I'd asked the waiter if the ravioli were made in house. He said they were not, but they were very good and he recommended them. I appreciated his honesty and tried the lobster ravioli. They were good, but the dish also had 4 good-sized shrimp, and some zucchini. As an accompaniment, rather than the entire dish, the ravioli were very nice. And the sauce was great, and they gave us extra bread to mop it up. Our martinis were very good, too. A very good first visit, and we'll likely return soon. read more

Superb first time dining here during a torrential down pour evening in the midst of the pandemic. The vibe was very cozy yet romantic. The food was delicious! Their braised beef was fantastic and their carbonara was heavenly. Will definitely dine back here, especially during the warmer months as they had a nice outside patio seating. PS. First time here such a hidden gem!! We booked reservations for Valentines Day and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is quaint and takes you back to a time with NO TVS. Such a nice atmosphere and wonderful staff that were on top of cleaning and catering to anyones needs. We got the Bolognese and Carbona pancetta pasta and they were absolutely delicious. Spilt a bottle of champagne for the occasion and can't wait to be back!! read more

I dined on April 15 and we ordered bolognese w fettuccine. chic saltimbocca and beef shanks. all wonderful. liked it so much that I came for takeout the following night... saltimbocca and the bolognese. By ACCIDENT, our host gave us the saltimbocca and lobster ravioli. she said "do you like lobster?" I replied yes. Because of the inconvenience (barely none) she gave me the lobster dish AND COMPED the bolognese! This is what makes a great restaurant! on another note, we dined at Square Cafe in Hanover. the crab cake came out ice cold! we commented and at the end of the evening, they would comp dessert. Very nice indeed, but we don't eat sugar. therefore we felt somehow compromised in this situation. I feel Square Cafe should have compensated differently if you cannot eat sugar. on a positive note, we will dine at both restaurants in the future. Trattoria San Pietro has become our go to restaurant for outdoor dining this fall. They have converted an outdoor area they share with a gardening shop to create a comfortable and intimate dining experience while observing all the appropriate pandemic protocols for outdoor dining. Their food has always been great, both delicious and generously portioned at a good price. If you are avoiding carbs their Veal Cutlet Milanese is to die for, otherwise their pasta dishes are always amazing. Their servers have especially stepped it up with shout outs to Kerri, Tucker, Maicey, and Matt for their outstanding service during our visits these past few weeks. We wholeheartedly recommend Trattoria for their outdoor dining but take it in before the weather gets too cold. Seating inside is now limited so reservations are a must for indoor dining. read more

Party of 3. We waited almost an hour to get 2 appetizers. We waited some more to get our entrees for 3 people. We were chowing down on free bread we were so hungry. When apps came, we shared our experience with the Manager (Amy) about the hour wait time for 2 apps while fully understanding of COVID precautions but at the same time they were only at 50% capacity, because again, of COVD - she was rude enough to tell us she can pack our entrees to go if we were in a rush. We didn't say we were in a rush; we were just informing her of our experience in her restaurant. If we wanted to order to go, we wouldn't have waited almost an hour for 2 apps (Caesar Salad and Stuffed Mushroom). She sure knows how to assure current patrons to never comeback to her establishment. Side note: $35 Rack of lamb was so measly that we were surprised they would charge that much with only a few pieces of small lamb racks and 2 small potatoes. Mussels on the $25 Frutti di Mare were so overcooked that they shrunk to tiny bits and the clams also over cooked that they were chewy. read more

Trattoria did not disappoint as it was our first experience there. Due to local power outages we chose this restaurant and we couldn't have made a batter choice. Our server Kerry was absolutely amazing, listed off all the specials without skipping a beat. Great team effort as multiple servers came by to check on us. TSP merits a five-star rating for the food/service on this Saturday night. However, it gets a zero-star rating for "atmosphere" but still adds up to a five-star rating because 5 + 0 = 5. (And who said you don't need to know math in real life? Balderdash, I say.) Let's analyze: Food: I felt that TSP is well-above the norm for Italian food. First and foremost, they make their own "paaah-stah" and sauce and offer items outside the usual dishes by offering Wellfleet Oysters and Venison. This could be seen as a double-edge sword (pos or neg) as these are not Italian but cater to the situation that some diners may not be Italian-food fans (like myself) and thus have the options for food that is more up their gastronomic alley. Others may view this as a neg since TSP ia billed as Italian and thusly should offer only traditional/typical Italian food. But since this review is all "my-yin" I hereby declare this as a pos and not a neg since it catered perfectly to my gastronomic needs. We got the Oysters and the Snausage Stuffed Peppers and Meatballs for apps. The Oysters were fresh and excellent. The other two items were great and had a lot of tasty sauce and decent-sized portion. We all enjoyed these apps a wicked lot. We enjoyed our entrees of Seafood Di Mare and Fish Something-or-Other and Snausage Something-or-Other entrees. I do believe, though, I was the most mental of all about their dish. I got the Venison Chop which had tons of demi-glace and featured risotto and H2Ocress. It was VERY heavy and rich. But the star of my show was the bone-marrow of the chop which could and should be boasted about in the waitress's description of this Lynyrd Skynyrd-approved "Saturday Night Special." It was the "most bestest" marrow ever. I scooped out big goopy bites with my knife and it was DTF. It was worlds' better than any ossobuco you may've (Is "may've" a legitimate contraction? -it looks weird) had elsewhere. This was true ossobuco. The real McCoy and unadulterated. And it was "built in" and "free" with the entrée to boot. In my experience, most all ossobuco offered at most all restaurants is just jive. In fact, they often just serve "whatever" and call it "ossobuco" which is a term that has become jejune. We also had various toddies. I do find it ubiquitous and surprising of how often you order a basic classic cocktail and you have to explain to the staff what it is. I ordered a Vodka Martini and had to explain what was in it. I ordered a second same toddy at the meal but what I received this time was just straight vodka with lemon. Oh well... no biggie (smalls). Service: Service was "on point" and "off the chain" as they say in today's lingo. Friendly and fast with emoji-like smiles from all of the staff. I was most impressed with that fact that there were NO MESS UPS -a true rarity when dining out. I asked for extra ice and got it. I needed and extra fork and I got it, etc. Everything was kosher service-wise (except for the toddy thing). We had dessert of a lemon cake and a chocolate cake with whipped cream and a chocolate boom-boom sauce. These sugar-laden goodies appeared in-house made and are "Aunt Bee-approved." Atmosphere: Unfortunately, though decorated decently, this place is cramped seating-wise and LOUD AF. Literally LOUDER than a sports event at Boston Garden. We could hardly hear each other or the waitress. Everyone had to raise our voice, a.k.a. SHOUT, to be heard. This is not the fault of TSP but the fault of the human phenomenon known as THE LOUD PRINCIPLE in crowd dynamics. CAN YOU HEAR ME? I said, "THE LOUD PRINCIPLE! -I'll have the VENISON PLEASE!!" Trattoria San Pietra was recommended by my cousin who lives in the Hingham area. We were meeting him and his girlfriend for dinner one night and they suggested this place in Norwell. I had no idea what to expect, but is soon as I walked in and it reminded me of my favorite Italian restaurant in Plymouth, Cafe Strega. Come to find out later, it is their cousin who owns and runs the restaurant. It makes perfect sense. I was very happy with this restaurant before I even sat down. We made a reservation ahead of time and were able to be seated a few minutes early. We were approached by our server, I think we got off on the wrong foot as she seemed a little bit condescending and rude at first. I don't really like to be corrected, especially when I am a patron at a restaurant. I ordered a martini, and my sister ordered Rosè. When my cousin and his girlfriend arrived, we put in our order, right away. My sister and I decided to share the salmon, and also the brown butter ravioli (ravioli di zucca). We decided for a balance of healthy and unhealthy. My cousin ordered the squid ink pasta, and my cousin's girlfriend ordered the veal. Our drinks were delicious, the bread was good, our meals were fantastic, the environment was great, and the service, again definitely could've been better and friendlier. Absolutely the best Italian food I have had in many years. Went there for my birthday and could not have been happier. It seems to have become a recurring theme in my reviews to talk about food allergies, but I feel it's important for a growing population of people, and it's info I always appreciate seeing myself. That said, I was actually able to order my entire meal, appetizer, entrée, and dessert, without ANY substitutions having to be made. And no leaving anything out which then makes the dish less palatable. What a thrill it was to eat something which tastes exactly the way it is intended to. (People without this issue truly have no idea what a big deal this was!) Fantastic wines by the glass, far better than is typical. Reservations recommended on Saturday night (which we did not have), so we wound up taking seats at the bar, but we were absolutely just as well taken care of there as the level of service we saw in the dining room. In fact, a table became available just as our appetizers came out, and I was so cozy and happily settled in that I did not remotely feel the need to move. I saw on earlier reviews that they had a 90 minute seating limit during pandemic days, but fortunately that has been lifted. Can't wait to go back. Thank you for feeding me so well. read more

Very poor manager she was very rude and ignorant to me and my sisters I was so embarrassed I told them they would just love this restaurant boy was I wrong second time here. My sisters food came out burnt and my dirty ice after parting $15 a drink never got it then they wouldn't bring me any rude never will I go here again never ever ! read more
