Winter in NYC with a kid is no joke. Before becoming a parent, my main goal on freezing weekends was staying cozy. Now? It's finding places where my child can actually burn energy when outdoor playgrounds are basically off-limits. Enter Space Club, the solution to this problem. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place was thoughtfully designed with both kids and parents in mind--exactly as they describe on their website. Getting tickets at the door was easy, with no wait: you just provide the phone number associated with your account, and that's it! I really appreciated that tickets aren't strictly timed: you can drop in anytime that day, which takes a lot of pressure off planning. The socks-only policy and large shoe-off area also immediately set the tone for cleanliness (and yes, my white socks stayed white). There are tons of well-padded play areas, obstacle courses, sensory rooms, and quiet corners[1]. Also, unique to this location, a bounce house. Unlike many indoor play gyms, this place is actually enjoyable for adults too. The café offers smoothies, coffee, and snacks[2], and you can bring your own food/drinks. Parking right outside is a rare bonus for Greenpoint. One small downside: despite clear signs saying no food or drinks in the play areas, I saw several parents bringing large coffee drinks (even into the bouncy castle). Not Space Club's fault (in fact, I saw staff members going to some of these parents to ask them to bring their drinks outside the pay areas), but I do wish this rule were enforced more consistently. The temperature runs a bit cooler than at their Fort Greene location, perhaps due to the fact that this is one single, large, floor. While it wasn't uncomfortable at first, I did start to feel chilly after being there for about three hours. Overall, it's clean, well-run, and totally worth it. Had a birthday party here . Kids had a blast ! You get a room and everything else is up to you . They'll help you bring everything up [no elevator] and they'll help clean up the room but you have clear everything up that you're taking by the end of the party . I wish they gave a little more time in between parties but they do give a lot of time to play which is awesome . They have the best smoothies . I had a great iced latte and great matcha ! we love space club in general and frequent the fort greene location. but my kid always gets sick after leaving there two days after. do you all have a no sick kids policy or how often are you sanitizing things? I've been there for up to four hours and never see anyone cleaning. paying this high of a price for play for your kid to get sick and wreck work week and travel plans is a bummer. read more

This spot is unlike other indoor play places. It's huge, bright and clean, and actually can be fun for adults. My family and I spent about 1.5 hours here. It was mostly kids under 3 in the early hours, though it starts to have an older kid crowd by 11, I'd say. The cafe is a nice touch, though note that the drinks need to stay in the cafe. There are a lot of unique things to interact with here, like a whole electronic music/instrument section and really incredible swings. It's safe to say that this spot is also very instagrammable. There are a lot of options here. The beads seemed a little risky, but things were relatively clean. Just note that I saw some kids putting beads in their mouths, yikes. read more

This play space is amazing for kids of different ages, with different areas for kids with different interests. I can see how parents with younger (toddler-aged) kids may be concerned, as the space is huge and you really have to keep an eye on the kids. But for older kids, it's awesome to be able to freely roam different areas. The space is kept clean and workers are friendly. The party areas are also quite spacious (for NYC and even LI party spaces), though it would be great to have a few more stools for the grownups. There's ample free parking right across the street. This is a pretty cool place to bring your young ones. It's 3 levels of fun and excitement, although only 2 levels were open when we went. There's a pit with inflated star shapes for all to jump in, climb different ladders and have fun. There were a number of people there but it didn't seem crowded. What a place that is truly outta this world! Space Club is a great place that is better than your local play gym; this play is not only HUGE, but offers a quiet corner and spaces for overly sensory stimulated children. This place puts kids first in cleanliness, good lighting, staff available on the floor, and quality place spaces. Came here solely based on the recommendation for a play date with a friend, and it worked out well! Upon checking in, we were given free socks for our indoor play experience, and my son RAN inside, heeding little to my yells to wait up for me. The pink obstacle course and the room filled with foam blocks was the highlight of the experience for my son. Children of all ages were running, laughing, squealing, jumping, and playing. The parents also seems to enjoy the space just as much with chilling in the quiet corners, or opting to have a snack and hydrate at the tables and benches stationed at the front of the establishment. Two birthday parties were being held at the same time during our visit, and they had little to no impact on how we enjoyed our stay. The place is very well cared for, and I will more than likely be looking into a membership, since my boy was exhausted after 2+ hours of play, but insisted we come back tomorrow. Space was awesome! We came here for a birthday party and had three hours of nonstop fun. There's truly something for everyone, even my 9-month-old had a great time. That said, I do agree with some of the comments about security. The place is divided into three sections, and to access one of them, you have to pass by the front entrance/check-in area. I really think there should be a gate, turnstile, or some kind of barrier to prevent little ones from wandering out. My 4-year-old was exploring freely, and before I knew it, she had made her way past the entrance, definitely gave me a mini heart attack! Aside from that, it's a very cute, bright, and clean space. Space Club in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, is an absolute disappointment and a potential ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) violation that needs to be investigated and shut down until brought up to compliance. Went a few months ago when they first opened. The building has three floors and no elevator, making it impossible for families with disabilities, mobility challenges, or adaptive strollers to access the space safely. Each floor has multiple stair landings ...roughly six flights in total and there are no accommodations in place. This is a clear failure to meet ADA accessibility standards for a public family venue. As a mother, it was physically exhausting and unsafe to carry my autistic toddler up and down all those stairs, especially while also assisting my child's grandmother, who struggles with mobility and had great difficulty managing the steps. Families should never have to choose between inclusion and safety, yet this facility makes that impossible. Beyond accessibility, this environment is not autism or sensory friendly. It's overwhelming, loud, and poorly designed. The "bead pit" is an obvious tripping and choking hazard beads were scattered across floors, staircases, and the entrance. It literally felt like stepping on Legos barefoot while balancing a child in your arms. For children with sensory sensitivities, this kind of setup can trigger distress, meltdowns, or injuries. The first floor ball pit is another major safety risk. The entire climbing structure including the ladder and slide is made of metal with no padding. While trying to play with my child, my foot became jammed between the metal bars hidden under the balls, and it swelled immediately. I could barely walk afterward. No play space should expose parents or children to such preventable injuries. The staff never cleaned or maintained the area, the café was overpriced and nearly empty, and several swings and play structures were broken. The lack of supervision and upkeep shows complete disregard for guest safety. Only one bathroom on the main floor was working. The rest were out of order. Adding insult to injury, the owner announced a "members-only" policy that would have restricted weekends to non-members and made Monday through Friday for members only. The cost was outrageous -- $3,229 per year, $299 per month, a $299 annual sign-up fee, and $99 per additional sibling. For a facility that isn't ADA compliant or inclusive of children with disabilities, these prices are exploitative and unethical. After public backlash, the owner retracted the policy but then sent an unprofessional email to all customers titled "we f*cked up." That language alone shows a stunning lack of professionalism and respect for families. Overall, Space Club is unsafe, discriminatory, and poorly managed. It excludes children with disabilities, endangers families, and fails to meet ADA Title III accessibility requirements for public spaces. The City of New York and ADA authorities should immediately investigate this business for noncompliance and safety risks. Until this facility installs an elevator, ensures sensory-friendly design, and meets proper safety and maintenance standards, it should not be allowed to operate. I will never return and strongly urge other families especially those raising children with disabilities or sensory needs to avoid this establishment entirely. I'd love to give it zero stars but unfortunately can't. The only positive I can say was the bathroom was clean with a nice changing table And they have lockers. That's it. It's a very cold winter in NYC. Before I was a parent, my only priority was to stay nice and cozy. Now, I am trying my best to keep my kid entertained since outdoor playgrounds are not really an option most winter weekends. My wife was able to find this spot, Space Club, and I am very delighted with it! Just like they described on their website, they truly did thoughtfully apply great design features into the space to make it easy for parents and children to have a good time. Getting tickets at the door was pretty easy. There was thankfully no wait when we got inside. What I like about their ticket is that it is not timed, so folks can drop in anytime on the day they purchase their ticket. I also like that there is a big area where you can take off your shoes (socks only place) and then you can go inside and enjoy the rest of the facility. They had a lot of cool little things kids could do. The vast majority of the spaces kids can go into are cushioned, so you don't really have to worry too much about your kids falling and getting hurt. One of two features I didn't like is the wooden ball pit, as it was a little painful for me (and other parents I saw wincing) to step on them. The other one are the slides which I think need a little more of a good cushion on the bottom so kids don't slam their little heads on the floor. Overall, I would highly recommend parents come to this place and check it out! As my kid gets older, I'm sure he'll get even more out of being in this place. read more

Place is great, but this to me is a huge security issue. There needs to be a gate separating the play part from the entrance/check in/front door area. It would also be nice for the cafe to be up and running and for more staff to reorganize as the day goes on and stars, etc end up in the wrong area. For other parents to know, this space is amazingly huge, so unfortunately you can't stand in one place and always have an eye on your little ones. read more

We have been to many indoor space playgrounds and this place was extraordinary. It felt cavernous. Big spaces filled with fun sensory activities. My grandchild is four and had the best time. The only problem was getting her to leave. Two hours of laughter, running around and loving this indoor well thought out space. Bravo! read more

BE CAREFUL!!!! We are a non profit who serves young people in foster care. We registered a young woman and her baby for a monthly membership to Space Club. She never used it and then sadly disappeared. Space Club would not cancel the membership, even though our name was on the card and we had registered for the membership on behalf of this youth. They insisted that the young person for whom we were helping had to cancel, even though we explained that was not possible. They continued to charge our card and were unmoving, rude and unyielding when we tried to speak with them. They were charging a non profit with limited funds every month, even though the membership was not being used.We finally had to cancel the card. Do NOT trust this organization with your credit card. They are completely untrustworthy and unkind. read more

Great addition to the neighbor. Fun and entertaining for kids especially during cold weather when the park is not an option. My one year old loved the slides (not the ones with wooden balls though), all the crawl space on the elevated foam floors, the ball pit, and unique swings. The blue room was also a hit. For littles, will need to be extra cautious that older kids don't bump into them when running around (like in any place space). Also appreciated the baby friendly bathroom.
