Another reviewer suggested using earplugs, but trust me: nothing is going to save your sanity when a full-blown freight train blares its horn at 3 a.m. every morning! We booked way in advance online for a week-long plus stay, only to be placed in a spot with absolutely zero shade. When we asked to move, the head staff, Leslie's favorite catchphrase was "just call us next time." Good to know & thanks so much for this lovely help, Leslie! To cool down, you can always hike an eighth of a mile to their very nice pool. Just be prepared for the "gravel gauntlet" (similar to your site, by the way)--navigating loose rocks in flip-flops while carrying pool gear in the heat isn't much fun. Ultimately, we've stayed in cheaper, friendlier, and much more accommodating places. Unless you really love the blazing sun, constant noise and unhelpful office manager, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

There is no lock on one of the back showers. The water goes out if the washers are in use and you cannot use the showers. "Bill" Bruner passed June 2022 and now his grandson Michael Bruner is running Sunshine RV Park LLC. We stayed here 20 yrs ago and much has changed and for the better. Sunshine RV Park now has about 70 level concrete RV sites. The RV sites are about 65 ft in length of which 50 ft is poured concrete with a concrete patio. We have a 45ft motorcoach and we fit on our site just fine. All of the sites have 50/30/15 amp electric, water (good tasting/good pressure) and sewer. No problems with electric voltage even in the hot Georgia summertime. And new concrete sites are being added at this time. Lots of area to add more RV sites. Michael is doing a great job as the new owner of Sunshine RV Park. Michael manages the RV park full-time and has help. Someone to cut grass/weed trimming around the RV sites and someone to pick up any trash and help maintain the RV Park. RV sites are being improved ongoing. We use T-Mobile and get a consistent 550-600 mbps down and 10-15 mbps up speeds. With T-Mobile we achieved 5GUC 2-3 bars the majority of the time at the RV Park. We also have a T-Mobile 4G hot spot and achieved speeds of 15-20 mpbs down and 5-15 mbps up. No problems streaming at all. Sunshine RV Park is big rig friendly. No rocks to navigate around and no overhead tree limbs to worry about. Plenty of room between RV's. All of the sites are back-in except one site which is pull-thru. Sunshine RV Park is pet friendly and has lots of grass for your pet. Just make sure to pick-up after your pet, keep them on a leash at all times and no disturbing of neighbors by your pet. All commonsense rules to live by. Now let me say this... Sunshine RV Park has mostly long-term contract area workers. Advance reservations are needed to stay at Sunshine RV Park. Rif-raff is not tolerated at all by the owner, and it is very quiet here after dusk. I would say that about 60 of the 70 sites are long-term RV'ers. This being said, if you are a traveler and are looking for someplace in the Savannah area to stay, consider Sunshine RV Park IF you want to stay for 1 to 4 weeks or more. You must have a self-contained RV - no tenters. No playground/swimming pool or other RV resort amenities here, but you are only 7 miles to the Savannah Historic District, a 7-minute drive to Kroger grocery and CVS/Walgreens or a 10-minute drive to a Wal-Mart Supercenter. Lots and lots of fantastic area restaurants to choose from that feature great southern-style cooking! Sunshine RV Park is a safe and quiet (an occasional jet flying overhead) place to park your RV as it's in a residential area. On Sunshine Avenue is the Georgia Public Safety Training Center - a training complex for all Georgia state and local public safety agencies. The Garden City Public Library, the Police/Fire Dept/EMS are all less than a mile from the RV Park. The owner's home is next to Sunshine RV Park, and he drives around the RV Park to ensure its safety. Amazon local delivery, Wal-Mart grocery local delivery, UPS and FedEx all serve Sunshine RV Park as we had deliveries from all four during our stay. There is a farmers' market at Forsyth Park every Saturday year-round from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM featuring a variety of farm goods and prepared foods. We did encounter a minor problem with USPS mail. USPS does not deliver to this address unless you register with the Post Office prior to receiving postal mail. To have our USPS postal mail received, we used Post Office General Delivery Service and picked up our mail at the Savannah Post Office downtown. The Savannah Visitor Center on MLK is a great resource to help plan your area adventure. Savannah is a walking town. Savannah has squares and parks, and these are the community's most beloved icons. Originally designed with 24 squares, 22 remain today to be enjoyed by the millions who walk these grassy utopias every year. If I was to mention a negative, driving down Sunshine Ave. we did encounter some tree branches. No damage to our RV but do drive slowly. Sunshine Ave. is only a half-mile long street and the RV park is on the left side at the end of the street. The RV Park's office has a large sign on it with the address and phone number of Sunshine RV Park. We truly enjoyed our 1 month stay here at Sunshine RV Park and absolutely enjoyed our visit to beautiful and historical Savannah, Georgia. We hope the information we have provided will help you plan your visit to Savannah. Update - I had given a copy of our review of Sunshine RV Park to the owner about a week prior to a departure. Michael had read that I had commented on our encounter of some tree branches along Sunshine Ave. and trimmed them back nicely! But the worst was the bathhouse. Hair, trash, mold were in all 3 shower stalls. & Stayed that way for all 4 days. A sign on the mirror stated for women to please clean up after themselves. It appeared that was the only clean up these bathrooms received. I would not date step any the shower without shower shoes on. There were also several people hanging around outside the bathrooms smoking. It's hard to believe there are still so many people who are so oblivious to how nasty smoking is. My husband confirmed the men's restroom was every bit as bad as the women's. I feel really bad for the people living there (and there appears to be a LOT of permanent residents) & having to use the showers daily.

JF Gregory Park (JFGP) seemed like the perfect place to enjoy the day and burn some energy. We met up with friends to play at the playground, went for lunch and then returned to hit the trail, the kids on bikes and me on foot. Named after J.F. Gregory, basically Henry Ford's right hand man for all of his operations in Richmond Hill, the 335-acre community park includes: 3 plus miles of walking and biking trails; a fenced in playground that is recognized by the Playful City USA program; 25,000 square feet covered pavilion (most of the food vendors set up here at The Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival that occurs every year); picnic areas, The Veteran's Monument; Richmond Hill City Center; John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center. Parking: There is a parking all over the park, but for the trail, we parked in the dirt lot before the trail head, near the Richmond Hill City Center. Trail Description: The trail is over 3 miles and is just one giant loop. When you get to the "Rice Cultivation on the Ogeechee River" historical marker, whether you go straight or left, you will find yourself back at the marker. If you go right of the marker over the bridge, this will lead you near the John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center. I would say about half of it is paved, the other half a dirt gravel road, but well worn for bikes to get through (I would use mountain bikes or bikes with thicker tires and treads). There is a lookout deck, benches and trash cans along the way, as well as the exercise stations (VitaCourse 2000, similar to the ones seen at Tom Triplett Park in Pooler, see my review). Difficulty Level: Easy for all ages in terms of terrain, moderate in terms of length. What we did: We did the entire loop and also went right at the marker to explore that path which led us to the John W. Stevens Wetland Education Center so we walked around the front and then walked back to the car that way. JFGP is such a great spot in Richmond Hill to enjoy the outdoors. Whether you just want to sun bathe, spend time with kids, have a picnic, walk, run or bike the trail. There is something for everyone to do and most importantly, do it together.

The location isn't fancy such a beautiful farm. However, it's worth the visit because the riding trails are great, covers different terrains which was a challenge (I was nervous) for me because I have never rode a horse. It was a great experience. The staff of three was friendly, professional and helpful. Only reason I didn't give five stars is because there is no restrooms or place to wash hands after ride.

The ceilings were extremely high, there was art all around us and because it was empty, it seemed even bigger. As soon as we entered we were greeted by a man in the front shop and he let us know that he was there for any questions we had. Since we were just killing time, we decided to just stroll around the building. There was a booth selling drinks and snacks, a nice touch for visitors popping in on their way to tour the city. We decided to head further up the stairs and stumbled into a spot that had tour brochures for so many local Southern cities and some sweet ladies behind the counter to help guide visitors. I ended up walking to the gift shop and began chatting with another sweet woman behind the counter. I was in awe of the most beautiful handcrafted miniature version of the Forsyth fountain and we talked about it for 10 or 15 minutes. It was truly one of the most beautiful pieces I've seen in a minute, obviously delicately crafted with so much love and intention. The woman at the counter told me stories of customers who have purchased the piece for special reasons, such as a mother who flew in to buy it as a surprise cake topper for her son's wedding as he proposed to his fiance at the fountain. How beautiful! Although we weren't there very long, I really enjoyed our visit!
