It appeared that was the only clean up these bathrooms received. I would not date step any the shower without shower shoes on. There were also several people hanging around outside the bathrooms smoking. It's hard to believe there are still so many people who are so oblivious to how nasty smoking is. My husband confirmed the men's restroom was every bit as bad as the women's. I feel really bad for the people living there (and there appears to be a LOT of permanent residents) & having to use the showers daily.

Fort McAllister is a Confederate earthen fort built along the Ogeechee River to protect Savannah during the Civil War. It's famous for for withstanding multiple Union naval attacks before ultimately falling during a land ambush in December 1864. By capturing the fort, Union forces had a clear path to the city of Savannah and kick-started Sherman's infamous March to the Sea. Today the park contains a visitors center, a small (but jampacked museum), campgrounds, the historical fort site, and more. The museum may be small, but it's packed with in-depth exhibits. You'll easily pass at least an hour here if you really take your time to read through everything. I especially loved the unexpected Henry Ford connection to the fort. Walking the grounds of the fort was the real highlight though. Fort McAllister is one of the best-preserved earthen forts from the Civil War, and you can explore the ramparts, cannons, and earthworks. Whether you're a casual visitor or a die-hard history buff, this park delivers a great walk in history's footsteps. Highly recommend carving out a few hours here!

Breakfast was hearty and delicious, but the best thing was her presence and the conversation with her and her wealth of information with a keen sense of humor woven in her stories. The only flaw was that we arrived close to 11:00 pm, and it was very dark and the house number had been painted over with white paint and it was indistinguishable from the rest of the door frame so we had to ask the front desk of a neighboring hotel that were able to show me a road view of the building that we recognized after driving by it. All-in-all, a very positive experience, highly recommend.

HUGE chunks of fat left on the ham, canned pineapple, sunny D versus orange juice, etc. 5. Colleen (the innkeeper) talks about her political beliefs. I hate to give her a bad review but it just wasn't an experience I would suggest others visiting Savannah pay $100 a night for. We stayed at the Best Western Central Inn for 2 nights prior to coming to The Confederate and let's just say I would have rather stayed at The Best Western and it was only $60/night!!

The balcony French doors don't catch the latch to lock up. Thank God this room has an elevator. But, I am thankful they upgraded us to this condo, because it is gate protected. The Brass Rail is the place to stay on the island !
