We have eaten at Spaghetti Western twice. Once we dined in, a year or so before the Covid-19 pandemic. We ordered a calzone and Italian enchiladas. Both were good. The second time was take out for my daughters 2020 graduation luncheon during the Covid-19 pandemic. The food was horrible. An expensive tasteless mess. I mention the pandemic only because the restaurant may have been understaffed or the original chef may have been furloughed or laid off. Something has to explain the drastic difference. Out of all the choices in the area, the bf wanted Spaghetti Western for his birthday lunch. I honestly had forgotten this location was here since we normally go to the Shepherd location. But after visiting, I think we may have to frequent this location more often. First of all, the parking situation is a 1000xs better than the Shepherd location. You have plenty of spots to park since it's in a big shopping center lot. When we went in, we were greeted warmly by the bartender who was serving some other patrons who were feelin pretty good at the bar lol Our waiter brought out our menus and drinks quickly and was very friendly. I have to agree with David N. that their breadsticks are better than Olive Garden. They're soft and buttery with the perfect amount of sprinkled parmesan. For our entrees, we ordered the chicken caesar sandwich and the Pasta Man Special. My sandwich was very good and plenty of gooey cheese, definitely would have again. This location has better parking and it has less hustle and bustle. Surprisingly it was not busy at all when we visited. (4pm on a Monday) I guess since it wasn't busy, the staff was relaxed because once our food came, our waiter kinda took off and we had to get his attention when we needed refills. It may have just been an off day. I liked this location, especially since it's less busy than Shepherd. They also have a nice patio area as well. A neighborhood casual Italian restaurant and bar. Service is always great. There is a bit of a musty smell the few times I've been in here that they should look into cleaning up. The food is always good. I prefer the pizzas to the other Italian dishes. The salads are always a nice addition to a meal. Value for what you get is great. read more

The Timbergrove/Oak Forest residential real estate market might be thriving, but the dining industry has yet to truly follow suit. So when longtime Heights Italian staple, Spaghetti Western announced a second location in the area, residents like myself rejoiced. There aren't many options for flavorful, local Italian nearby as Cavatore's better days are behind them and Fratelli's has since moved to Memorial. I had only dined at the original Spaghetti Western once five year back but recall the kitschy space surprisingly pleasant and endearing in an Americanized Italian sort of way. By no means did I expect a Tex-Mex / Italian fusion restaurant to be at the caliber of my personal Italian favorites like La Vista or Antica Osteria (but then again, Bellissimo gets rave reviews). I had the best of intentions to add Spaghetti Western to our regular nearby rotation. After a month and a half past their opening date, we figured the kinks would be smoothed out and ready for our dining pleasure. The space still boasted the kitschy vibe from their Heights location which suits the neighborhood's growing new family population well. Starving, we were happy to be seated immediately with wine, local beer, starter salads and breadsticks greeting our table shortly after. Unfortunately, I had to file both the salads (garden and caesar) and the breadsticks under EMPTY CALORIES. Each salad proved to be bland and watery while the warm and garlicky breadsticks seemed somewhat artificial. Our main entrees didn't help turn the corner for Spaghetti Western. I played it safe ordering classic spaghetti and meatballs. Albeit prompt, my dish arrived lukewarm and again, watery. Once rewarmed, the meat sauce was palatable, but overall leaving me with carb remorse. Meanwhile, my fiance attempted the portabella crab cake on a bed of orzo pasta topped with grilled shrimp. The dish had a lot of promise with many of our favorite elements. Unfortunately, only the orzo was up to snuff featuring a microscopic 'shroom, tough shrimp and the crab cake tasting less than fresh. I sure wanted Spaghetti Western to be my neighborhood spot to carb-load seeing as I could actually run to it from home. Turns out, I am still on my "cheat day" search. read more

This is a solid new Spaghetti Western in the Shady Acres/Heights area of Houston. For those of you that don't know about SpagWes, it is a great place for delicious, Italian comfort food at a great price. The Western part of the name is visible in the great collection of old western movie posters hanging in and around the restaurant. This location lived up to everything we were expecting... the Veal Parmigiano I ordered was overflowing off the plate, and deliciously flavored. The hot, buttered bread, with a light sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, served before and during dinner is always a nice supplement. And lastly, the desert cannoli was fantastic. Everything about our experience was positive and we definitely plan on eating here again. BOTTOM LINE: Great place for some family dining Italian comfort food. read more

The name of the restaurant really does describe this place. I had the spaghetti with meat balls and a Boston creme cheesecake for dessert (tasty and exactly what it says it is). The value for price feels very affordable. This is Italian American food served in a venue tastefully decorated with posters of Clint Eastwood's "spaghetti westerns". The spaghetti was not the best spaghetti I have ever had. It was good. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The food came out quickly and correctly. If you enjoy the ambiance of Texas themed Clint Eastwood and like spaghetti with meat sauce then you should try this place out. The cons were the spaghetti sauce was not the most flavorful and there was that watery sauce at the bottom. I dipped the bread into the sauce and that was great. Had dinner here with my daughter Friday night, Restaurant was comfortable and charming, Wait Staff was attentive and prompt, the food however wasn't what i expected. I ordered the Chicken Scallopini and it tasted cheap, perhaps i was expecting more in the way of quality, than what they typically provide. My daughter had pizza and it tasted good however the crust was partially wet and soggy..so we at around the wet/soggy parts. Last but not least, the two toilets in the women's restroom were both over flowing, I think it may have been an OFF DAY for this place :) read more

We came for a private party and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The decor is much nicer than the other location. We had been to the other location the night before and the quality of food at this location wasn't as good. Dinner was set up buffet style and there were several choices. Everything was just ok nothing stood out as "I have to have this again". Will stick to the other location, decor is better here but not the food. read more

I tried this place again and was sorely disappointed. We went at 5:30 and waited for our food for 45 mins with three small children. The waiter said they had a big order ahead of us....never did a manager check on us. This place is NOT child friendly even at the early hours. I was thankful when this restaurant opened last year. There are a few options close to my neighborhood, but we were pretty excited about this one. We've been here a number of times over the past year. The food has always been good, big portions and good service. We've never had any issues. We enjoy a large number of things on the menu, but some of my favorites are the calazones, lasagna, formal wear and the tombstone chicken. Great breadsticks. And they serve sweet tea. Oh yeah, boston cream pie cheesecake is pretty delicious too. It's family friendly and a fun place. The food is good, and a little different. read more

I am so glad to see something viable move into the old Yen Jing building. Lazybrook and Timbergrove have always deserved a few more good eating places and this is definitely going to be one of them. Hopefully, it will also encourage some updating and leasing of the rest of that kind of sad strip center. Lots of seating, including seating around a TV (it was Sunday and apparently they play football games on the television on Sundays? I don't know much about this). We were happy to sit in the back and had a large table with nice lighting. Food was great, and I know my kid alone ate about ten of the breadstick things (which beat Olive Garden by a longshot, my friends). Sadly, this new years' brought the need to drop carbs for a bit so I can wear pants without elastic, so I stuck to the stuffed mushrooms (soooo good) and the Portabello Chicken (great as well). Everyone at the table enjoyed their food - pizza was great, pasta was great and the veal was a hit as well. I love me some spaghetti western, we always went to one in rice military & loved it. Their service is always great, they always make u feel like family, wh/ was the case here. However, the food here was not as good as the original. My shrimp pesto was divine, but I tried the pasta my hubby & son had & it was meh. The marinara sauce & meatballs on my kiddos penne were bland, & my husband's lasagna was also a snoozer. The breadsticks were fantastic as usual & my Pinot Grigio was crisp & perfect. So ups & downs, but I think they should probably run through the menu in the kitchen & check on how the food is being cooked. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in town the food is spectacular and I normally get the fettuccine alfredo anf I always finish it because it is so delecious! about the service the waitresses are really great and helpful and the food gets here in a very short amount of time. Went here for lunch today for the first time. Wow - amazing. Loved it. Location: Close to Garden Oaks/Oak Forest and the Heights. Plenty of parking. Lots of "Spaghetti Western" posters - which my husband and sons love. Plenty of seating and a relaxed atmosphere. Service: Attentive and friendly. Food: Lots of Italian favorites. Appetizers: We had calamari - it was lightly fried and came with flavorful red sauce. We also had mushrooms with crabs and a yummy cheese sauce - served with slices of garlic bread. Entrees: I had risotto with crabs, mushrooms and fresh veggies. It was topped with 3 big shrimps. It was good. My mom had a huge salad full of veggies and a lovely penne pasta salad chock-full of fresh roasted vegetables. My sons had spaghetti and a personal pizza (with pepperoni and sausage). All was good. Amazing Food at Great Price! We have been eating here for years and have tried almost everything on the menu. My son is lactose intolerant and the completely remake a dish for him so he can enjoy. My mother-in-law loved the lasagna and it did look pretty good. Our server got our order correct but he did not let us know the special for the day. We heard him tell another customer after we received our order. It was the ribeye for $13.99, my husband was thoroughly disappointed about not getting that information. He ordered the pork chop with jalapeño kiwi sauce, but it was over cooked. He said it tasted like it had been microwaved. For some reason as soon as he was done with the meal he spent 15 minutes in the bathroom some kind of reaction to the food. When he came home he barely made it to the bathroom. I ordered a signature dish with Tilapia, Angel Hair Pasta, Shrimp, and Crawfish in a garlic butter sauce. When it arrived it appeared to be missing the sauce so he brought me some. My dish in some places tasted cold. I finished my plate but felt a little let down. The ladies bathroom was out of paper towels. The cleanliness was a little below par.
