Spago felt more like a lovely dinner spot than a destination for celebrating a special occasion, as our anniversary wasn't acknowledged during the meal by our main server. We had been quite spoiled at the Fairmont restaurants and at Ferraro's, where we were given wonderful sunset-view tables and where our anniversary was warmly acknowledged. At Spago, we were seated three rows back near the bar. Fair enough--only so many tables can have prime placement--but unlike Ferraro's, there was no acknowledgment of our anniversary at all. No "Happy Anniversary," and no sense that it had been noted. I assumed I must have left it off the reservation, as there was no recognition during service. The only mention came from Vicky, the assistant server, who remarked on how unusual 31 years of marriage is and asked our secret. That was appreciated, but it was the extent of it. Our main server was professional but somewhat perfunctory and not especially warm. Vicky, on the other hand, was friendly and genuinely pleasant. On the food side, there were some bright spots. I enjoyed the Guava Lava--a lemon, coconut, and pineapple cocktail that drinks like dessert. The bread platter was a highlight: onion sourdough focaccia, Samoan rolls, and wheat-and-thyme flatbread crisps served with butter, yuzu, and baba ghanoush. I also enjoyed the macadamia nut-crusted mahi mahi, which was well prepared. For dessert, we ordered the Lemon Zinger. Only ten are made each night due to the labor involved. It was light, refreshing, and nicely done. "Happy Anniversary" was written in chocolate on the plate--there, we were finally celebrated, Spago-style, thanks to Vicky. If you're there on a Saturday or Sunday evening, you can catch a partial view of the Fire Knife show, which takes place at 6:30 pm and is visible from the balcony.

Delicious food with a peaceful ambiance. We watched the sunset on the terrace while we are the pea pappardelle, Wagyu Ragu gnocchi, and jalapeño mocktail. Friendly, delicious, highly recommend.

This restaurant is fantastic. One of the best service experiences I've ever had. The waiter and bus team went above and beyond. We came on valentines day, the weather was nice and we sat outside. They had a prix fixe menu which was very good. I think for the price and portions very good gets 4* though part of me wants to give 5* because of the service and ambiance. A true 4.5 I guess. Would recommend, would go back, would try different menu items.

We had a great experience at Spago's. Yeah, it was expensive dinner and I know most folks won't want to use their dollars for $100 bottles of wine (low end) and $95 plates. This is definitely an experience for a special occasion. We saved money to have this dinner because it was important to us. We paid the cost of four dinner dates. It was worth it for us. No photo for our appetizer. I forgot about it. Our steak and fish dinners were amazing. We received three desserts. Two were complimentary and one we purchased. Service was top tier. And the ambiance was unforgettable. Our view was amazing and we watched the sunset while eating. (I created a collection of all the restaurants we visited on Maui from fine dining to food trucks and all in between.)

Food was amazing! The staff were not. The 3 stars Is only to reflect the treatment from Staff. The 2 young front desk workers were very unwelcoming. Tried to prove we had no reservation. Said they found it but it was for 3 days later, and currently had no space. We obviously see a lot of tables available. I showed my phone confirmation, but they said we are now 8 mins too late. Did another reservation in front of their faces. They didn't expect another available spot, so they made me wait an additional 15 mins longer than my new reservation time. The waiter - David with the Shirley temple curls was decent AFTER realizing we actually had money to spend. I noticed we didn't fit the color of the restaurant... after people in the restaurant saying how we looked so Hawaiian / local, fees like they sure try to keep our look out. Ugly America displayed in my favorite Chef's restaurant. We'll continue visiting other Wolfgang locations, but this one is definitely a prejudice feeling spot. Definitely ruined my night. Hard to enjoy my dinner after feeling so unwelcomed. I didn't want to leave after already tipping the Valet parking only at the 4 seasons. Wolfgang recipes are always next level though, no doubt.

"Truly a spectacular meal celebrating our 44th anniversary. Andrea was an informed engaging waitress and all her suggestions spot on. Kudos to Connor her assistant as well. Our meal was phenomenal! I had wagyu sirloin which was superb. Seasoning amazing. The Hearth Bake Bread was wonderful. My husband had the special with lobster added to it - Thai style Pineapple Coconut Red Curry with Kona lobster- not to be missed. Finishing up a nice bottle of wine with POG soufflé - another special. Thank yo

Spago is an LA establishment known for founding Michelin star worthy food within the city, perhaps even the state. Thus, for visitors to Maui and especially those from California, Spago is a familiar sight. Located in the Four Seasons hotel where the first season of White Lotus was filmed, there is certainly plenty of fun of enjoying this location whether visiting the hotel or staying in it. When it comes to Spago Maui, it is certainly a much less formal version of its sister restaurant in California and presents a tropical vibe. It is not focused on multi course dining experiences or meticulous details, while the service is relaxed, albeit friendly while still being attentive. Presentation of dishes is also simple, while portions are fairly generous. Spago Maui is not about pushing the boundaries of creativity, but rather focuses on pleasure of food. Thus, it is important to arrive to Spago with the right expectations that this is not a dining experience that would typically land any Michelin stars, but is more centric around comforting dishes in a tropical atmosphere. Dishes like Asian style steamed fish with bok choy are remarkably satisfying. Curried catch of the day is amazing. Rolls are constructed attentively. Pavlova was sadly extremely over-sweetened, so maybe skip the dessert. The wine list is impressive with an amazing sommelier on site from Wolfgang Puck's sister restaurant in Vegas. So, order what looks most pleasing at the moment, chat with the somm and enjoy the sunset.

Culinary Review: Spago Maui Dining at Spago Maui strikes an impressive balance between refined culinary execution and the relaxed elegance that defines the island itself. While the restaurant certainly delivers the caliber of cuisine expected from a Wolfgang Puck establishment, the experience feels refreshingly unpretentious--elevated without ever becoming stiff or overly formal. From the moment we arrived, the service set the tone for the evening. Manager Danny made a point to check on our table several times throughout the evening, ensuring everything was running smoothly, while our waitress Emma delivered truly exceptional service. She was attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and warm in a way that felt genuine rather than rehearsed. An additional staff member--whose name I unfortunately did not catch--noticed an opportunity to enhance our experience and moved us to a table with a better view. It was a thoughtful gesture that was not requested but deeply appreciated, and I regret not getting his name to recognize him properly. Small acts like that demonstrate an attentiveness to guest experience that goes beyond routine service. The bartender also deserves recognition. The drinks were prepared beautifully, and the individual who crafted them was equally kind and welcoming. It added another layer to an already enjoyable evening. What stood out most throughout the restaurant was the atmosphere among the staff: every single person seemed to be smiling and genuinely happy to be there. In hospitality, that level of morale is rare and speaks volumes about the culture of the restaurant. The culinary execution was equally memorable. I ordered the New York strip steak cooked medium, and the kitchen delivered it flawlessly. Achieving a true medium without scorching the exterior is not always easy, but Spago's chefs managed it perfectly--the steak was evenly cooked, beautifully tender, and expertly seasoned. Our meal began with bluefin tuna, shishito peppers, and mushrooms, which turned out to be the highlights of the evening for both my wife and me. The tuna was exceptionally fresh and clean in flavor, while the peppers and mushrooms offered a satisfying contrast of texture and savory depth. These dishes were simple yet refined, allowing the ingredients to shine. We also tried the Thai-style seafood coconut curry. While the dish was well-prepared and flavorful, it leaned slightly too sweet for my preference. That said, the seafood itself was fresh and well cooked, and the dish remained enjoyable despite the sweetness. Our drinks complemented the meal nicely: a classic Arnold Palmer, a crisp Prosecco, and a glass of ice wine to finish the evening. To close the evening, the kitchen surprised us with a birthday dessert--a generous gesture that added a thoughtful personal touch to the experience. The Basque cheesecake was outstanding, with its signature caramelized exterior and luxuriously creamy interior. Alongside it came a beautifully prepared profiterole that provided the perfect contrast of textures: light choux pastry, rich filling, and indulgent sweetness. Overall, Spago Maui succeeds in delivering a high-end dining experience that still feels distinctly Hawaiian--relaxed, welcoming, and joyful. Excellent service, thoughtfully executed dishes, and a team that clearly enjoys what they do make this restaurant stand out even in Maui's competitive dining scene.

Spago Maui was the perfect choice for a special dinner during vacation. The beachfront views were incredible, it made the entire experience feel extra luxurious. The menu has a great variety of seafood, pasta, and Asian fusion dishes. Our server also let us know of some off-menu items and chef specials. We ordered a number of things and our server arranged them in a way that would be best enjoyed- from starters to small plates to our main course. Just about everything we got was a standout dish, but I especially loved the Hand Cut Tagliatelle Pasta with Local Mushrooms. The complimentary focaccia also deserves a mention. I also *needed* to try Wolfgang Puck's signature smoked salmon pizza topped with Kaluga's Caviar. The NY steak was cooked to a perfect medium and had a yummy homemade steak sauce too. We ended the night with their ice cream and espressos for the drive back to our hotel.

Is outside wine allowed and if so what is the corkage fee?

Yes, $65 per bottle but only two are allowed but if you have a magnum it's $160 I believe

    Is there a kids menu?

    Yes they have one

    Do they have happy hour?

No, but they offer kamaaina with two forms of Hawaii I.D. Only on food!

Would khaki shorts and a button down shirt or collared polo shirt be appropriate dress wise?

Yes! That's what my BF wore most nights we went. Very Hawaii dress up, which is casual

We came for the Sushi, but never in my life have i tasted such heavenly steak! The exceptionally aloha-friendly staff, such as Ronson and Iggy, were above and beyond helpful. Be sure to include an order of mussels, and you can't go wrong with anything Hamachi, such as the carpaccio. The atmosphere is somewhat traditional sushi bar, with an aloha flair. It is not very spacious, and will fill up in both guests and noise. Tune those out and you'll be fine. By the way, be sure to make reservations! A Word of warning, this is a sushi bar in the heart of Maui, and is it priced accordingly. That said, it is well, well worth the splurge!

I had Thai-Railway Fried Rice, which has diced, cooked NY steak chunks, in a bed of brown rice, as well as peas, carrots, scallions, Maui onions (yum!), with an egg over easy on top, with toasted onions. I dialed the spicyness at "medium". It was *perfect*! My wife had Pad Thai with chicken, and she left it at the default spicyness (medium), which ended up being too hot for her, but she soldiered on nevertheless enjoying the wonderful flavor. Perhaps because of the noodles and curry, the spiciness of the Pad Thai seemed much stronger than the Thai-Railway fried rice dish. Of course, we had leftovers and I'll probably end up eating hers, and she'll eat mine. The service was prompt, and the girl waiting on the tables was courteous, with a beautiful smile. The restaurant is deceptively roomy, seeming to be smaller from the outside, but once inside, it was quiet, clean, with comfortable chairs, clean tables, and large windows to enjoy some of Kihei's views (like today's gentle rain). As with most things these day on Maui, where everything comes in a shipping container, food costs are very noticable. Our meal, including thai ice tea and a soda, with a coconut ice-cream to finish it was about $44/person. Not cheap, but also not as bad as, say, Tommy Bahamas.

We opted for the Omakake (Tasting) Menu along with the Wine Pairing for each course. We knew it would be expensive (prices intentionally deleted), but we felt it would be a wonderful experience. We have eaten at Morimoto at Sea on several Holland America Line ships, including our recent cruise on HAL's Nieuw Amsterdam that has a dedicated Morimoto Restaurant mid-ship on deck 11 -- those meals have always been fantastic. Back to last night. Disappointment #1 -- The wine for the first course arrived 5 minutes before Course 1, the Toro Tartare. The wine had lost most of its coolness, and intended flavor and aroma, by time the dish arrived. Disappointment #2 -- The Intermezzo dish, the Sudachi cucumber sorbet was a bit sour. Other intermezzi that I have had were a slightly sweet, perhaps lime or lemon sorbet. AND they typically were paired with a splash of champagne or a sparkling brut (why not include the Morimoto Dream Rosè?) Disappointment #3 -- Course 5, the Surf & Turf, was bad! The very small portion of the Wagyu beef was Medium Well to Well Done and appeared to have been burnt over a flame. When we told our server, his comment was, "That's why I recommended the Japanese A5 Wagyu [at an additional $80 per person!]." Sorry burnt beef if burnt beef, no matter what the price. Training/Expectations seem low: Where do they get their water glasses? On the discount table at Walmart? These two are different styles on the same table; at least our two were the same style, although different from those two. And the dessert spoons -- two different styles given to us. I expect (and I am sure others also do) a much higher standard at this famous Iron Chef restaurant. DELIGHTS: Course 1 - The Toro Tartare was so tasty. We are used to a tartare to be chopped, perhaps even finely chopped, but this one was made into a puree. The toppings (caviar and rice crackers were tasty, and the rice crackers looked like little sweet ice cream toppings. Course 2 - Red Snapper Carpaccio was liked by someone who does not normally like raw fish. The light sauce added a subtle dash of flavor, and we were able to roll the pieces with chop sticks and heat an entire price at once. Course 3 - Lobster Takoyaki. The three "lobster balls" were served warm, and they were very tasty. A large piece of lobster in each roll was a true delight. Course 4 - Sushi. The 5 pieces of nigiri were Chu Toro, Hamachi, Salmon, Campachi, and Big Eye Tuna. There was a light smear of wasabi between the fish and the rice; I had already asked for more (and hotter) wasabi that I mixed with the soy sauce. We brought a few pieces of the sushi back to the condo for a later snack. Course 6 -- the dessert was so-so in my opinion. Sharon liked it, so it was probably just my tastebuds and not the actual dessert. We had planned to go back to Morimoto Maui next week for a special Wagyu and Wine pairing, but based on last night's Wagyu failure, we have cancelled the reservation. I hope that our next dinner at a stateside Morimoto restaurant (probably Morimoto Napa in 4 weeks) is a much better experience for us.

If there is a line, the wait can be lengthy. The staff are kind, friendly and even offered area activity recommendations. The ocean view is incredible-- it can be enjoyed best on the patio, and from many of the indoor tables. The buffet includes unlimited coffee, tea, juices (love the POG juice), coke products (you can ask for a to go cup on your way out! I recommend asking for ice)-- as well as a made to order omelet. Then there is the entire buffet. As a vegetarian, I had plenty of options. Loved the avocado toast bar-- it was so flavorful! I loved the scones were different flavors each day. I eat eggs, so I sometimes had the scramble, sometimes a veggie omelet (I liked to top it with parmesan cheese from the avocado toast bar). I enjoyed the breakfast potatoes (they changed them up a bit each day), and the variety of salads. They even had a marinaded tofu! The place is kid friendly. There is a parking garage.

Humble Market Kitchen feels like a restaurant that knows it has a captive audience and has stopped trying very hard. The food was uninspired, generic, and significantly overpriced for what was delivered. Nothing was particularly bad, but almost nothing was memorable either. Breakfast was especially underwhelming. Skip the buffet. The eggs were watery and soupy, and the "Hawaiian sausage" turned out to be little more than sliced hot dogs. For a resort of this caliber in a destination known for incredible food, it felt surprisingly low effort. Service was probably the strongest part of the experience, but even that was average at best. I'd call it a 6 out of 10. Friendly enough, but not the level of hospitality you'd expect given the prices and setting. The disconnect is especially noticeable because the Wailea Beach Resort itself is fantastic. We genuinely loved our stay and would absolutely return to the property. That's what makes the restaurant so disappointing. It feels like a business operating inside a great resort rather than an extension of the resort experience. If you're staying at the Wailea Beach Resort, do yourself a favor and explore the many excellent dining options around Wailea instead. Maui has too many great restaurants to spend your vacation settling for this one.

Came to Three's for happy hour! Mai Tai's and sushi rolls. They make a delicious Mai Tai here and…read morethe sushi is tasty too! Service is fast and friendly. Is Three's touristy? Yep you betcha it is. But the sushi is cheap and the drinks are strong so that tourist vibe wears off pretty fast around the end of round two. Since the sushi is reasonably priced, that leaves you more money for round three! Located on Kihei road in a cute little cluster of souvenir shops, restaurants and other interesting establishments. Walk around after dinner and buy something. Be patient in parking something opens up every few minutes. Recommend.

The next few groups got the better seating along the edges at tables that weren't in high traffic areas, slammed against a wall. Our waitress, wow. Disgraceful. Maria I believe? She showed disgust at our order and was the most unfriendly waitress we have ever had. We ate as quickly as possible, slammed our drinks (they were actually just water, absolutely no flavor or color for a margarita), and got out in under 30 minutes we were SOOOO uncomfortable. The quesadilla was still amazing and the kalua pork nachos were good too. Everything else has 98% room for improvement - structurally, professionally, beverages, everything. We will not be back after that one.

Happy Belly blew us away and honestly saved our trip after a disappointing dinner the night before at a nearby grill. This was exactly what we needed. We ordered the Garlic Noodle with Pork Belly, Chicken Katsu Panang Curry, and the Pulled Pork Sliders -- and every single one delivered. The garlic noodles were rich, savory, and packed with flavor, topped with crispy pork belly that had that perfect golden edge but was still tender and melt-in-your-mouth in the center. Absolutely addictive. The Chicken Katsu Panang Curry was a combo I never would have thought to put together, but somehow it just works. The crispy katsu with that creamy curry sauce was such a good pairing -- and the spice level was mild enough that even I could enjoy every bite without reaching for water. My husband went for the Pulled Pork Sliders and was equally happy -- soft bun, good portions, great flavor. We genuinely could not believe this was a food truck. The quality, the flavors, the care in the food -- it felt like a legit restaurant. If you're staying in Kihei, do yourself a favor and put Happy Belly at the top of your list. We only wish we had found it sooner.

We went all in on the pork belly (no regrets ) and ordered the pork belly fried rice and the garlic noodles with pork belly. Both dishes were packed with flavor and super satisfying. The pork belly on the garlic noodles had that perfect crispy edge with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth center--easily the highlight. We went on a Sunday night, and the place had a fun, lively vibe. There are tables available, but it does get busy, so come with a little patience. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
