TLDR: Amazing people. Above and beyond service. Heavenly atmosphere. I can't recommend them enough! Read on for more details of my personal experience with Spalation. This place has fantastic hours. My group only had free time to go to the spa on Sunday, and no other place could accommodate an appointment for 4 people on a Sunday afternoon. Billy had great communication when I called for an appointment and sent me a confirmation email afterward. When we first walked in, the reception area smelled and looked wonderful. We were given water (deliciously flavored with fruits frozen in ice cubes) while we filled out forms on what we wanted for our massages. Billy was very helpful and walked us through the forms. When we weren't sure what scent we wanted for aromatherapy, he gave us samples to smell. Just past the reception area is softly lit with a modest water fountain; the lighting and sound of water enhanced the relaxation experience. After we changed into our robes, we were treated to complimentary foot soaks and scrubs. We were given the most adorable mittens during the foot scrub that kept our hands warm, and they smelled amazing. After our feet were dried, we got slippers that matched the mittens. The slippers were also so warm and smelled so good. For the actual massage, we all got the 60-minute Swedish. My masseur Kimberly was very professional and helped me feel comfortable. She made sure to ask if I needed more/less pressure. I was only expecting a body massage but was pleasantly surprised with a scalp massage and a warm eye mask. The rest of my group also had glowing reviews for their masseurs. The music was soft (we got to choose what kind of music plays during the session), and the light was dimmed. We were all lulled to various stages of sleep. After the massage, drinks and snacks were laid out for us. We got to choose water, hot chocolate, tea, etc for our post-massage drinks. The snacks were a variety of fruits, nuts, and pastries, some of which were made by Billy himself. Everything was delicious. Billy was so welcoming and easy to converse with while we snacked. We never felt rushed to the door. After we left, we got a "thank you" email from Spalation. read more

WOW- this place is the best. If you are looking for a spa to pamper you and make you feel like you are the only person in the world that matters - you have found it! They provide you with robes and slippers and even give you a snack before you leave. You get to choose everything: the music, the oil/lotion, the smells, the massage style, and pressure-absolutely everything is thought out and made just for you! If I could give it 10 out of 10 stars I would, it is that great. We actually came across this spa through reviews while visiting Kansas City for a business trip. It is hands down the best massage I've ever gotten and if I'm visiting again, this will be top on my list of things to do. What an amazing experience. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Kansas City and wanted a couples massage from a spa that was not a chain. Spalation outdid our expectations in every way. The personal care and comforts are unmatched by any other spa we've seen. Our therapists, Joe and Christina, were professional and clearly knew what they were doing with not only techniques, but with reading the body and knowing exactly where the problem/tense areas were and how to best handle them. This was the best hidden gem that we found years ago when we lived at the river market. I can't believe I've never reviewed it! The staff is always incredible and the quality of the massages never disappoint! My husband and I have had massages in other countries/Hawaii and it still can't match up to the experience we have at Spalation. We recently moved to Olathe and we still drive 50+ minutes because it is SO worth the drive! We got the couples massage package 60-minutes with foot ritual and hot stones. You get to pick your aroma, how you want your massage, if you want to opt out of hot stones or not. They offer your drink of choice after with a snack! This is THE BEST massage I have EVER had in my life. And I've had massages all throughout Ohio, SC, and MO over the years. They came by recommendation of a good friend, who said they were the best around. I think that was an understatement. I've never had a massage truly work out all my kinks and felt this great on the way out the door. The atmosphere is great. And the owners are wonderful to talk with. You have your own personal room with closet instead of the traditional cramped group locker rooms. Youre greeted at the door with slippers and infused water. This is a relaxing and luxurious experience from the moment you walk in the door. Very welcoming, knowledgeable and affordable. Quite honestly, they could charge double what they do and I would still pay it. Billy and Joe are so friendly. From the moment u walk in, the extra care they take to make you feel welcome is noticeable. I highly recommend Moses as a massage therapist. He does an excellent job making sure the pressure is perfect and has the amazing ability to take all my stress and tension away. Totally blown away. Spalation not only thrives in the small details that set it apart from competitors, but is affordable as well. We did a couples massage for our anniversary, and the amount of things that are included with a standard experience included things I've never experienced from another massage place. Spalation is a great place to go. Got a couples massage as a gift and it was perfect. Konesha and Shelly were awesome! Very nice and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. On top of the foot, sport, and swedish massages, we had an iced green tea, water, fruit and a delicious dessert waiting for us in the waiting area. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I booked a couples massage easily via email and based on other Yelp reviews that were fantastic. I was NOT disappointed. This was one of the best massages and most "spa-like" experiences I have had. The little extra touches that are included were so nice!
