Overall good experience, but not great. Prices are great, you sit yourself, overall good tasting food. Cheese bread was like cake, not awful but it's a preference thing. Wait staff rather sparse.The place is rather small, outdoors is not bad if you are packed in like sardines on the inside. Not a place to go eat with family (on a weekend) unless you plan on bumping elbows all night. Parking was not terribly bad, but if you arrive late, good luck. I had the shrimp and avacodo salad. It was a well balanced creamy salad. I would order it again and again!

Never had a bad meal there but I love their Philly Cheese sandwich. The weekend night ambiance is good. They have a variety of bands that play on different nights. The one drawback is that they don't have mixed drinks. read more

Eh. This is definitely a place to avoid. We went on a Sunday, and it was very dead on the inside, maybe 4 to 5 tables were filled. We were there for a couple hours visiting with family after our meal and all of the tables that were dirty at the start of our visit were still dirty when we were leaving, and we had been there close to 3 hours. In that 3 hours there were maybe only one or two other small families that came in during that time. I could understand them being slow to bus tables if they were busy, but was very slow... Cleanliness and appeal of the restaurant certainly is not a concern to them. I have served before and even at places that aren't that fancy - tables were to be pre-bussed and bussed immediately after the table got up and left. Lord knows how long the tables that were already dirty when we walked in had sat there dirty. Onto the food - I was highly disappointed. The garlic bread they offer is disgusting and tasted old. I ordered the quesadilla and they need to lay off the seasoning. I can get down with some heavy seasoning - but this was to the point that it was disgusting. I had to brush all that off to even make this edible. One person in my party ordered their potato wedges, which to me should be edible but these were hard like a rock. They also complained about their sandwich and that it was incredibly bland. For the price we paid? You can get a way better meal at a chain restaurant. I was also concerned about cleanliness in a back as they were cooking things on the stove that were in pans that looked to be covered in burnt food. :/ I personally would never come back here. read more

Having loved Spankies back in the day, I talked my husband into stopping in for dinner on a Sunday evening as we passed through Cookeville. There was only one other couple when we went in so not busy at all. The waitress was pleasant and took care of us but it took quite a while to get our food. It has been at least 15 years since I had been in but the "spin-dip" was as fabulous as ever. The sweet chili salmon very good. I would definite recommend if your not in a hurry read more

Good bar with great drink specials on different nights. I have never ate the food but most people say that it is very good. The outside patio is a nice place to hang out and listen to live music. They have this year round. read more
