The cleaning was ok but I wanted to be a regular customer and in the 5-6 weeks I was with them they didn't come 3 times at the last minute with random excuses why. The last time they texted me late that their daughter was in the ER the night before my cleaning. They never showed up again and I finally texted to see what was going on. I requested a move in clean for a 1 bedroom condo. The previous tenant had already moved out and everything was gone. I hadn't moved in yet, so the place was empty. I got in touch with a bunch of cleaners and ended up going with Sparkle N Shine (Jennifer and her team). Communication was great and setting up an appointment was easy. The prices were also very fair ($110/h for 2 cleaners). Unfortunately I was disappointed in the overall quality of clean. The clean was estimated to be about 2 hours for a deep clean of the condo. Jennifer was clear that maybe it would even go over since I also wanted particular things done. I ran some errands as they cleaned and they ended up finishing in about 1.5 hours. I was hesitant as it seemed really quick. I looked over the place and there were a bunch of places that they missed... even the ones that I emphasized that I wanted done. As I pointed them out, they would quickly clean it and move on. I felt very uncomfortable having them stay as they seemed so eager to go. I did not end up having them go through everything again. Jennifer reached out after the clean to check in (as she wasn't there), which was very nice of her. Since there were still places missed, she sent her husband to finish up. We had a three person team who came and did a deep clean for our 3 story, 4bed/4bath house. They were efficient, thorough, quick and friendly. They take the final walkthrough seriously, and spot clean any additional areas that we wanted further polishing. Don't be fooled by the 5 star ratings like I did and just look at the other low rating reviews. This place is definitely just mediocre at best. The cleaning job itself was acceptable, but tbh I've had other cleanings done before where it actually smells nice and clean or just adding those extra touches of making your bed and fluffing the pillows on the couch. Don't expect much of that from here. The main problem with them though is their pricing model which charges you an hourly rate for the first visit and then a more reasonable flat rate as long as you agree to keep a recurring service. Before I even decided to move forward with them, I asked Jennifer if I would still be able to keep my flat rate even if I wanted to extend my recurring service to once every 2 months. She told me it was not a problem but after that time came around when I asked about my next cleaning, she then told me that it would go back to an hourly rate since I did not keep my recurring service to every 4 weeks. Apparently, she would be losing money if I wanted to keep my flat rate for service to every 2 months. Unfortunately, everything we agreed to earlier was over the phone, so shame on me for trusting them to keep their word. I'm certain she will respond here saying that she never agreed to any of this, but I know what I heard and it was the only reason why I decided to go with them in the first place. Very deceptive business practices from my experience at least. Btw, in case anyone is curious about pricing specifically - I was quoted $120/hr for 2 people and $150/hr for 3 people for my 3BR/2.5BA. It took them about ~2.5 hours for the first visit which came out to $280. Then it would be $165 for the recurring rate. I do NOT recommend them but if you still decide to try them out, proceed with caution and get everything in writing from them. EDIT: Since we're going to be more specific, let's be clear that I only booked two cleanings, not three since there was a miscommunication on the third cleaning date so that never happened. And of course I would want to book more than once, isn't that the whole point with trying to keep a flat rate? I also never said I was unhappy with the cleaning, I said it was acceptable but like I mentioned above, there are other places that are just better. I would have looked elsewhere after the first cleaning, but no one wants to have to start all over again with a new vendor esp after dropping $280 for an initial cleaning and I didn't want to lose out on my flat rate either. I'm just trying to be very transparent so that no one else makes the same mistake that I did. There was obviously some poor communication that happened here, and I'm surprised that someone in the business this long wouldn't even try to offer any resolution as a sign of good faith towards a new customer. read more

I recently purchased a deep cleaning from Sparkle N Shine as a birthday gift for my 24 year old son. I spoke with the owner a couple of times about what I wanted to be done, we discussed how is apartment was clean (tidy) but was in need of a deep clean. I texted her exactly what I wanted to done (maybe everyone has a different idea about what a deep clean is)listed item, by item, and she agreed to my list. We also messaged via Yelp. So there was a lot of communication beforehand. The cleaners showed up on time, got to work and to my surprise were done in an hour and 15 minutes. My son's apartment is small, but 1.15 still seemed quicker than I had expected for a deep clean. My son lives about an hour and a half from me, so I was not there to do the walk through at the end (and the owner knew I wouldn't be there). I texted my son the list of things to check and I assumed the owner would also go over the list with her crew as well when they were done. My son was happy with their job and the cleaning crew left. I paid the owner and was excited to see the deep cleaning the next day on my visit to my son's apartment. Ok, so here it is. The apartment was clean, cleaner then it had been but It was not deep cleaned. For example, the inside of the oven was clean but the inside of the oven door was still sticky and dirty. If you run your finger on the top of surfaces (picture frames, tops of lamps etc.) there was dust. Not cleaned. Window blinds, dusty, not cleaned. Some areas of the baseboards were dirty. I texted and asked the owner if she wanted feedback about the job that was done. Since she's not on site with the cleaners, I assumed she would. And she did. We spoke on the phone and I told her exactly what I'm writing here. She heard me but kept going back to "well your son did a walk through and was happy." She didn't really acknowledge that a deep cleaning was not done, even though I went over the items listed above. She did offer to send out someone (within 24 hours) to deep clean the areas that were neglected on the condition that I was there when that happened. Due to my schedule, I was unable to do that. I asked her if she could do that next week when I will be there and she told me no. So here is my takeaway-for a regular quick cleaning, this company is fine. For a true deep cleaning, I have no idea since that's what I ordered and that didn't happen. On our call I even told the owner I would have happily paid more for them to be there longer to get the job done. In fact in our previous communications, we discussed my budget which was almost twice the amount I ended up paying since they were done so quickly. read more

Awesome team of cleaners, always on time, always masked up. Communication is great too -- they even text reminders for your appointments. Since there's often 2-3 (and even sometimes 4 people) cleaning, they're in and out in under two hours, which I'm super grateful for. They get all the basics done and then some, always remembering to clean oft-forgotten things like baseboards and light fixtures. I just moved into a pretty dirty place with some old coworkers of mine and it was near terrifying to live in with how filthy it was. I called Jennifer and asked for someone to come by and just get the normal living areas cleaned: bathroom, living room, and kitchen. This used to be a good cleaning company but they've steadily gone downhill lately which I is why I recently terminated their services. They cleaned my home for the last year but during the past few months I've had to call the owner multiple times to complain about hair left on the floor, trash not being emptied and bathrooms not being properly cleaned. I will say that the staff is always friendly but they just don't pay attention to detail. They are also unable to commit to an occasional change in schedule but it's a totally different story if they need to come on a different day. Bottom line, just average service at best. Not a fan of this company. They billed me an arm and a leg for the first cleaning (upwards of 300) despite the fact that I've always had regular cleanings at my house previously. I justified this by figuring I was starting a long term relationship for consistent cleaning, and then a few cleanings in they dropped me as a customer. The cleaning itself was mediocre - no moving of items, lack of cleaning under the raised couch), they offer no laundry service. I practically had to beg to get them to pull towels and even that was inconsistent. At 175 a cleaning I'd expect more. Long and short: mediocre. read more

I've been with Sparkle N Shine for nearly a year now and I'm so glad I hired them. Jennifer is great to work with and her team is the best. We've had Melisa for the last several months and she works her tail off. Melisa isn't just a hard worker, but she's super friendly and kind to our animals. On occasion, I have to leave shortly after Melisa arrives and she always locks up for us and makes sure to let our dogs back in before she leaves. The owners Jennifer & Greg are not afraid to get their hands dirty and will come and work alongside their staff about every 4th of 5th cleaning (it's usually Greg because Jennifer is running all the behind the scenes stuff). Also, there's been a few times when Jennifer has asked if I'd be willing move my time because she's trying to work around an elderly client's dr's appointment and I love that she's looking out for the needs of her elderly clients.
