Nichol is so patient with all of my requests and makes all of my nail dreams come true. My latest request was to have the space heater brought closer to me and there were no questions asked. Aside from personal requests, the quality of my nails have improved dramatically. On average, (prior to coming to Nichol ) i would suffer from (MULTIPLE) broken nails syndrome after just a week of service. My nail artist Kim just started there recently and she's the absolute best! I've followed her from an Oakland shop and am so excited for her new adventures in the city. Sparkle is definitely known for their superb nail art game. I dare you to peruse everyone's IG page and not fall in love with a design. I typically show a few pictures of nail inspiration and have Kim run with it. Never disappointed and I'm left staring at my nails all day. Right now with Covid times they are definitely taking precautions to keep people safe. On Saturday afternoon I got lucky with metered parking on Mission. It's not too bad but definitely give yourself time. When I arrived there's an open air courtyard to wait in before giving the heads up to come in. I had my and shield on and coming in was asked to wash my hands and be phone free as to keep everything clean. I appreciate that! I am so sorry if you're not already seeing her, because her client book is currently closed, but follow her on IG (@heartandsolnails) because she will periodically have openings for new clients. First of all, Sparkle SF is amazing. The energy at this nail shop is unlike any other. I take my manicures very seriously because I believe that it's often someone's first impression of me. If you're someone looking for a quick and cheap mani, this place is not for you. If you value creativity, quality products and nail care, then look no further! Back to my girl Estasha. Not only is she top notch at what she does, she genuinely makes me feel like she cares about me... not just as a client, but as a human being. Once you've experience her gentle gel removal and cuticle cleaning, there's really no turning back to your average nail shop. I made the mistake of not seeing Estasha for a few manis, and the rough gel removal at other places left my poor nails so damaged that my nail beds were detaching from my nails. Almost a year later, my nails are finally back to a healthy state, and I have Estasha to thank. I am happy to make the trek from Daly City to the Mission every 3-4 weeks to see her. Her schedule is often booked solid for 6-8 weeks out, so I joke (but not really) that my manicure appointments are more important than anything else on my calendar. I took my friend here to get our nails done before she got engaged. Estasha and Nikki did such a good job for us, we were both super happy! Estasha took her time, helped me pick out colors and come up with ideas to make my nails unique. I don't get my nails done often so I wanted to do something extra unusual, and Estasha was all for it. I appreciated her fitting me in even though I'm not one to get my nails done a lot, from what I understand she's got a very full client list. Sparkle is a super cute place and is not like your typical nail salon. It's warm, inviting, and the decor is homey and has a lot of personality. When first arriving I sat in the waiting area for almost 10 minutes. It wasn't busy so I just wondered when the manicurist was going to get me. Eventually I noticed that one of the artists didn't have anyone so I had to guess if it was her. I guess I was just surprised that no one came to greet me. I was there for an hour and a half. I literally just left and am having a drink next door and thought - woah, I love my nails....gotta leave a review. I saw Lila tonight for some subtle, wedding-appropriate nail art. I showed her some inspirational photos and she totally delivered, giving it a little bit of her own spin with her own designs and very subtle embellishment. We did six nails with negative space design, two of which have the tiniest little gold studs. They look awesome, and the price was reasonable ($60+tip). The space itself is really cute. It's spacious, very clean, no chemical smells, nice decor, and really legit supplies. Plus, there's an adorable Frenchie named Nacho. I'll definitely be back here. Booked Gabbi months in advance to get my nail art done for my bachelorette party. She texted me at midnight the week before without stating who it was and asked a bunch of questions about my nails. The following day at work, I was texting her photos of my nails so she could adjust the time of my appointment. 3 hours before my appointment, she cancelled without any explanation, no solution to refer me to a colleague or squeeze me in some other time during the weekend, nothing.... this screwed me over with my planning to get my nails done before my bachelorette party. I'll start by saying Sparkle obviously has some talented nail techs. So 5 stars for the nail art, but I don't think it's quite worth the hassle. Also this review is for Nichol, I can't speak to the level of professionalism of the other ladies that work there. I got my nails done about 3 weeks ago by Nichol and it was a decent experience. The salon itself is cute and well kept, the building is a little odd and run down however. I arrived and was not greeted, I had to introduce myself. We had nice conversation, and when it came time for me to show a photo of the art I wanted I was made aware I had booked the wrong level of nail art (I booked 15 mins not knowing tortoise pattern took more like 30-45), so she'd only be able to do a design on one nail. I was fine with that, but I did ultimately feel rushed - she said she kept running over time with clients and wanted to finish me on time (not really my problem?). Anyway I was trying to be understanding. When she was finished, I didn't get any lotion, little hand massage or anything, but the nails themselves looked great. Fast forward to about 3 weeks later, Nichol and I were trying to work out a time before her vacation that worked for both of us, settling on 530 on a Saturday. I was happy she was able to fit me in, and about 2 days before the appointment, I sent her a photo and told her what I wanted done via text, and received no response. She did send me a random Booksy link that day, but didn't let me know if I should or shouldn't book via the link, as she didn't give me any further instructions via text. It was also odd she hadn't texted me this link 3 weeks prior when we confirmed the date and time. Figured she was busy, so I assumed we were still on. Got to the salon, and I noticed her station looked pretty packed up but I waited anyway. Someone else was in there doing nails who didn't greet me when I came in, but I eventually asked if Nichol was there. She let me know she'd already left for the day. Perfect, I love wasting my time traveling from Oakland to SF to get a manicure. Needless to say I won't be returning. My first experience wasn't spectacular and then I was ghosted on my second visit. If you are going to spend a premium on your nails, I may suggest looking into other options before Sparkle if you want a hassle-free experience. had read more

I discovered Sparkle SF during a search for a nail artist and ended up getting something I never thought I'd find -- a brow expert who shapes by tweezing! I'm on prescription-strength retinol and can't wax right now, and Brandi did amazing work in sculpting my challenging Asian brows. I'd almost given up because all of my other experiences have been disappointing except one (at a salon that turned out to be inconsistent). Brandi has a great eye for shape and a very gentle touch. There is no doubt that this salon has the most talented nail artists in the city. I had been going to Lila for almost two years, who is a very skilled artist. However, there is no amount of artistry or instagram hype that can make up for poor customer service. About a month ago I had an appointment with Lila for a detailed gel manicure. Two hours before the appointment, I got a text from Lila saying that the appointment was cash only, something that's never happened before. I want to stress that I was not asked if it would be convenient for me to grab cash (spoiler alert: it wasn't), I was informed matter of factly that the appointment was cash only with no concern for my work schedule or calendar. So I hustled to go to the bank after work to grab cash and then hustled to the nail salon. I was between 10 and 15 minutes late only because of this last minute cash request and texted Lila in advance that I was running behind. When I got there she was unhappy that I was late and I told her that I was late because of her request to get cash. To expect your client to respect your time when you just showed them a complete disregard for theirs is unprofessional to me but we moved forward and the finished product looked great. After simply speaking up for myself this one time, she has blocked me from booking her on styleseat. This is after 10 appointments without any issues and me paying her a 20% tip every time.
