Just moved out here in the city looking for a new "home" salon for myself. After trying many other salons around the neighborhood and before I found this place, nothing compares to the service they do here! First impressions was the location is nice, very local and the staff are all so friendly and accommodating. Very professional attitudes and attire along with great customer service. Their place just got renovated and it looks fancy and stunning. Every time I have went in for my nails they took great care of me and made sure I got what I wanted. I always look for Brittney and Sammi, they know how to shape and design my nails with ease and precision, it shows how much care they put into making their customers happy! Do not go here. I paid nearly $100 for a fill that took an hour and 45 minutes and wasn't even done properly. When I got home, I realized the polish was completely uneven and see-through as that he only did two coats. Throughout the process, I was nicked with the electric filing razor that he was using. He did not apologize nor did he thanked me for my generous tip of $15 for a subpar job. I requested a refund and they hung up on me even after I sent photos and video. I am so disappointed I'm going to have to have my nails completely redone wasting more money. Sloppy and unfriendly service. Avoid. Oh and I requested GEL X and they didn't tell me that they were doing hard gel which is completely different and this ruined my set. I only know because it took so long and he spent 45 minutes putting on a clear something he didn't even tell me about. What a frustrating experience. read more

Response to owner: my concern was not to suggest denying service to the elderly (I am also a senior) but to draw your attention to the visible and obvious lack of a hygienic work flow and practice. Having said that, my late father had similar toenail condition (possibly affected by trauma, infection or illness) to that of the said gentleman. Such a condition should be treated and maintained by a trained PODIATRIST, a medical professional and not a pedicurist. Patients with such an affliction usually have to follow a prescribed course of maintenance and treatment. I don't suppose your technician is a trained PODIATRIST? If she is trained and licensed, I would suggest you advertise your services with this qualification. I note that you emphasised the lack of a tip. Understand that tipping is appreciation of quality service. In my experience, I was not satisfied with the service from your technicians. Also, when I returned home, I noticed that the clear polish I had on was not properly and entirely removed from some of my nails. The mani I had did not last a week. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I decided to book a mani and pedi at this salon after an absence of more than a year. This nail spa has recently renovated its premises so I thought the quality of their services may have been elevated. Unfortunately, I have experienced a rather revolting situation today. An elderly man came in for a pedicure and sat in a chair one spot away from me. As soon as he took his shoe and socks off, I noticed his fungus nails. They were gray, raised and extremely thick! As his pedicure progressed, his attending technician asked a nearby colleague for an emery board (previously used on the colleague's client) to use on the man's nails. This was shocking to me for sheer hygiene purposes. E-file bits were used on the said gentleman's toe nails with no sterilisation process in place. Likewise, file bits were also seen being taken out of boxes for other surrounding clients. When checking out, I spoke to the female owner discreetly about my disappointment. While I understand, the business cannot discriminate clientele, I would not have felt sick to my stomach to witness this man's badly afflicted toe nails and their hygiene protocol. Said owner said sterilisation of equipment do take place but cutters and tools are all stored in wicker baskets reused on clients. They are not taken out of sterilisers or packs. As for the quality of their service, my manicurist is someone who has taken care of my nails before (I was not chuffed the last time) but I was equally not pleased with her work this time. I had to ask her 3x to trim my cuticles after she had finished the mani. I paid in full for my services but chose not to tip because I did not think the quality of work has improved and professionally this place needs to do better for the future. read more

Haven't been here in a long time because I moved. Vibe is still calm and peaceful. I called and they were able to accommodate me last minute. Whitney did my hands and was fantastic. She immediately recognized me. Tommy(?) was great with toes too. I balled out and got heels scrubbed + metallic for the first time and it was $138 plus tip. Sammi Lau is still the owner. My friend and I stopped by this spa for pedicures. As the kind person who did my pedicure was helping me into flip flops to go over to the dryers, another person working yelled at me as I was struggling with my coordination to get the flip flops onto my foot. I was thoroughly confused why she was yelling at me, and telling me to stop looking at my friend. I hadn't even been looking at my friend and just had bad coordination which is why I was struggling to follow instructions get my flip flops on. I felt very disrespected and didn't talk to or look at my friend the rest of the appointment. I would not come back here because it's inappropriate to yell at customers, especially if they were doing nothing wrong like just having bad coordination. Called day of on a Saturday and got two pedicure appointments midday no problem. Tulip did my toenails with regular polish (not gel). She did a great job! My friend was not as happy. Then I finally pay and rush out and one of the ladies has the audacity to make me stop and show her proof of payment...also the lady didn't even do the shape I wanted. I wanted pointy almond and these are oval. Also she used a regular clear coat instead of gel I guess because it's easier for her but now makes it even harder for me to continue with my day because I have to wait 20 additional minutes for them to dry. I am writing this review to warn others that this place DOES NOT DO GEL X. The staff will be misleading on the phone and say they do but once you get there they will pressure you to get Hard Gel (which is not the same thing). I am writing my experience with hard gel and the staff. After requesting Gel X 3 times, the staff at the salon pressured me to get Hard Gel. The results were extremely dissapoiniting: the hard gel was poorly applied, it was very uneven, bulky finish and the shape was not Almond as I requested (picture attached). When I brought that up, the technician insisted she had left it thick so it could last longer, I left the salon unhappy but didn't want to make a big deal at the time. After 2 days, I still couldn't stand looking at my botched gel nails, so I decided to go back to get them fixed. When I returned, I encounter even more issues. Thuy, the technician who worked on my nails, was rude and not helpful. At first she didn't want to fix my nails because she said there was nothing to fixed, she blamed me for not speaking up at my initial visit (which I did) and her whole attitude, tone of voice and facial expressions were very rude, she made me feel super uncomfortable. While she was fixing my nails she kept making remarks about my nails to her colleagues and they all kept coming up to me to look at my nails like a lab rat. The whole experience was awful. And on top of that I had to pay FULL PRICE TWICE! I know the issue is not everyone at this salon, but I just had a bad experience twice, that being said, I will not be recommending this place or going back. read more

A little disappointed with my visit this time. I had a different nail tech and all was going well, arguably even better than last until one of her regulars showed up 30 minutes after my appointment (with an appointment). She did a great job shaping until this point. As soon as her regular came in, and said she had to be done in an hour and a half (including waiting time from me to finish) I could tell my nail tech started to rush. Some filing was painful, and I felt like she was getting a little sloppy since she was trying to wrap up my nails to move on to the next customer. I don't think the quality of my nails should've been sacrificed to make sure she could get her regular out the door at the time she requested. They should have allowed for more than 30 mins for my nails to be done. I still like my manicure and feel cute, it just could've been better. read more

I had an extra hour before a hair appointment in San Francisco so I decided to get my nails done at this salon. Big mistake. The nail technician, Thuy, was rough, unprofessional, and unattentive. She had headphones in her ears during my appointment and I could hear the sound of whatever she was listening to. She managed to dig her nail into the side of my finger at the beginning of the session causing me to bleed. I brought this to her attention and asked her to be more gentle. She agreed and then continued to be very rough with my hands and nails for the remainder of the session. I felt very tense as I was afraid that she would cause more damage. She then shoved a Kleenex box under my arm to adjust my position without even communicating. I found it very odd. I have had my nails done a hundred times at different salons and never had this experience. She then decided to apply super glue to the area that was bleeding. She also didn't even bother to ask me what shape I wanted my nails to be. By the end of the session, my nails felt very raw and tender and I asked her to stop filing them. She continued to file causing me pain and I had to firmly say "that's enough!" after flinching from the pain. Her colleague then brought a random ointment for her to apply to the cut and as she prepared to apply it without explanation or my consent, I had to ask her to stop. Save your money and go somewhere caring, gentle, with better costumer service. read more

I went to this nail salon because it had great reviews and my regular place was booked up. When we got there (with an appointment) we had to wait about 20 minutes before we got started, it seemed like they were not equip to take that many appointments. When it was time to remove my previous nail polish the woman went at my nails with a drill after I voiced that I wanted to be careful and not take off too many layers of my natural nails, something my regular salon is very good with so I can keep my nail strength. The woman didn't listen even when I said it was painful, my nails are so thin to the point where they still hurt and it has been exactly a week since I got them done. Additionally she layered the nail polish on so thick that it's not the best quality and they also charged an extra 15 dollars for chrome, which is incredibly steep compared to other places in the city. Overall very disappointed and not impressed, perhaps I should have voiced my concern and pain more, even though the pain was causing jerk reactions. I probably won't be able to get my nails done for a long time now because I'll have to regrow them. read more

Super impressed! I was looking for an October themed full set and called Mani Pedi to see if they did nail art. They told me to come on down. Lien got me set up with a beautifully shaped set of new acrylics and then Sammie took over to do the nail art. She did a fantastic job. One of the worst manicures I've ever had. I asked for almond shape and came out with pointy triangles, uneven, mis-shapen, jagged, slanted the wrong way in multiple directions. Was able to (sorta) fix them at home with a file. Cuticles aren't evenly trimmed either and were nicked multiple times. Also have gel polish uneven and stuck to multiple cuticles. Pedicure was fine, but the manicure was horrific. Won't be back. read more

Great quality results... with a few caveats. The technicians here are perfectionists and you definitely get what you pay for. On the other hand, I'm not a fan of spending upwards of $100 on my weekly pampering, so I would consider this gel mani/regular pedi service a splurge. Some highlights worth mentioning: No bubbles, smooth even gel, the results have lasted 10 days so far with minimal chipping of the very edges. I docked a star because there wasn't any soaking of my fingernails and I wish there were 2 technicians to do my mani and pedi at the same time to save time. All in all, the results were beautiful but I would go somewhere a little less pricey next time or learn to do my own nails so I don't end up broke from this addiction! read more
