Sandra is so nice! She greets you by name and her english is actually great. She does only solid color gel mani/pedis but it gets the job done. It was easy to make an appt, she's very responsive. I only did a pedi this time, and it was good! She was also so sweet and let me try out a few colors to confirm I liked the one I chose. I'd support her again, although she did mention pedis weren't her favorite to do since it hurts her back. LOL! read more

I've had a few pedicures from her and she's is not only always responsive to my requests for booking but does a great job at cleaning my feet, buffing them, giving a light massage, and making sure my nails are painted nicely. Sandra is hands down the best manicurist I've seen. Her attention to detail is amazing. I never find a little gap, bump, or smudge. Her gel mani lasts a solid three weeks, and I'm a nurse! She is super friendly and funny. I've been going to her since Jan 2022. It's a no frills place; I don't go for the spa experience, I go for the expert nails. Sandra's space is located inside of Sisters Salon. I highly recommend her. She is a one woman show so she books up pretty fast. First, the service was great, she was really nice and easy to talk to. But the execution itself I was not fully satisfied. It is $28 to get a gel manicure and $5 to take off my previous gel (free if your previous one is by her). I just think that she is not as detail-oriented as I wanted her to be, comparing to my past experience with other people. While she was shaping my nails, a lot of them were slated and I had to point them out to her before she start painting my nails. For one of them, she couldn't really see in what way they were slated and I had to clearly show it to her. She flipped my hands so that my nails were facing up and that's when she made the shape better. The painting part was fine through out. Until I left the store, came home and saw that on my ring fingers, there are these three random black dots on the nail. And they are under the top layer of the polish. I was very upset about this. Good thing though I went back the next day and she quickly fixed it for me and then my nails looked great! Now, a week and a half later and my nails have started to grow out, you can see that the border of the polish on my pointy finger has polish that is lifted up a little. This is due to the fact that she did not clean out my nails properly and there are still polish sticking to the skin on the side of my nail. Kudos to good price, great service and using my favorite gel polish brand (gelish). But not detail-oriented and I do not want to be staring down at each of my nail for her to get my manicure perfect. read more

I went to Sandra for the first time yesterday. I was in her neighborhood and was desperate for a pedicure. I called her and was delighted that she was available. I had tried to get into 3 salons the previous day and nobody could take me! She is as most of the other reviewers have described her: friendly, fast-but-not-rushed, detailed, and thorough. She speaks English well and I had no trouble understanding her (even though I have a hearing problem.) It took about 45 minutes to make my toes look beautiful again. She even had the brilliant idea of putting my sandals on before she applied the polish, so that the polish would not get messed up by trying to get my feet into the straps with wet polish on my toes. (I wore the wrong sandals.) I really appreciated that. Even though she is a 25 minute drive from where I live near Japantown, I would still go back to her. read more
