This was one of the most frustrating home improvement experiences I've ever had. The process started with a measuring technician who was rude, provided poor customer service, and had to return a second time because the initial measurement was not done correctly. That should have been a warning sign for what was to come. What is most unacceptable is that at no point during the sales, measurement, or scheduling process was I informed that floor-leveling issues could completely prevent the installation from moving forward. If this was a known requirement, it should have been discussed before installation day, not after I had already invested significant time and money into the project. When the installers arrived, they informed me they could not proceed because portions of the floor were not level enough to meet Home Depot's policies. The installers indicated the issue could likely be addressed with primer or leveling products, but Home Depot's policies prevented them from performing the necessary corrective work. Instead of providing a solution, the project was simply stopped. To make matters worse, after no flooring was installed and no project was completed, Home Depot still withheld a $100 fee from my refund. Charging a customer for a project that never happened is unacceptable. Home Depot wasted my time, failed to communicate critical installation requirements, and then charged me for the privilege of receiving no service. I expected far better from a company of this size and reputation. read more

The garden shop was buzzing with individuals and families looking for their LIVE christmas tree. There were still a lot of trees here. The available love plants for the garden were sparse and limited. The poinsettias were all inside as they should be however they could have used a bit more care. The plants were looking leaves and looking a bit haggard. There were quite a few though and some of them were still in good shape. There was plenty of help both inside and out. read more

This place usually gets the job done, but I sure wish I still lived closer to Ace or Lowes. I'll have good runs at Home Depot, then something happens to piss me off. That never - truly never - happened at Ace or Lowes. Today I stopped by to drop off fluorescent lights for hazardous disposal - just like I used to do at my local Lowes. Nothing like attempting to do a good deed and being made feel stupid for it. The guy (looked like a manager?) looked at me with a flat "Are you dumb?" look and said, "We don't take those." No "sorry, sir" or anything like that. He simply said that and immediately started asking an employee about something else. I'd been dismissed. A more friendly younger girl next to him said they only take the light bulb size ones, not the bigger fluorescents like I'd brought. Uh, okay... both have the same hazard (mercury) but... okay. And yes, Lowes always took the full size ones as well as the light bulb size. As I was walking away, some other kid behind the counter said something to the effect of "Tryin to save the world or something?" Apathy. My favorite. How charming. Good call having Rude work behind the customer service desk. I always go out of my way to hit Ace or Lowes over Home Depot. I hate that Home Depot is closest to the house. read more

Asked someone to help me find cactus soil .. didn't know where it was.. asked about about tropical.. didn't know where that was... checked out $261. What the other reviews about this location say are true. I went today to buy a propane grill to be assembled and delivered to me. After I paid for it I went back to the aisle to look for a grill cover and other items. While I was there an employee came into the area and pulled out the floor model and had a work order in his hand. I asked him if it was mine and sure enough it was. He said he was told to pull the floor model to have delivered to me so they wouldn't have to put together another one. Shady to say the least! I called him out and he admitted to it. I said no way! If they can't find the answer, they'll always try to navigate you elsewhere so that you could be satisfied. I know most of them are kids that work there but I really appreciate that they're doing their best to get you what you need. I've called here a few times now to inquire about some inventory and I usually do get a fairly quick answer, accompanied by some excellent manners and patience. If you like great one star reviews, grab your popcorn because this is gonna be a long one. Now I'm gonna say I am that guy that "doesn't usually write reviews" because I don't. I have a job as well and I understand when employees are having a bad day or tired from a long shift. Either way I understand how it is to be on the other end of a customer asking for a lot of help. So let's get started... I've been looking for a certain Milwaukee tool box for about a month now. Today after work I called my "home" Home Depot that is located off Hebron and was told that there was none there but the Colony location had some. The Colony location happened be on my way home from work and to my surprise there they had one out on display that I was interested In. I tried grabbing two employees from paint to help me and I was told to go to " hardware" for help. Now I'm not new to Home Depot and I've never heard of a Hardware department. I figured I was just dumb and decided to find it. After a minute of looking I asked a cashier where Hardware was and I was told that Hardware was aisle 12-14, and that someone in there was gonna help me. After looking in hardware I couldn't find anyone I decided to just grab the toolbox myself. When I went to grab the toolbox there happened to be a employee named Joseph there and I asked for him to help move some two Husky toolboxes out of the way so I can get the one I had through. He seemed annoyed helping and just told me to roll it to the Self Checkout. There I was helped by a shorter female where I asked for help to move the 56" Toolbox into my lifted truck. I had told her jokingly " y'all might need a forklift because this is heavy" and she told me to back my truck up in the front and someone would help me there. When I pulled up she rolled out the toolbox to the front and pointed to a gentleman across the lot and said " he will help you out ". Now ,Thomas the employee she was pointing at seemed bigger 50 yards away but when he got closer he was no bigger than myself. I am 5'10" , 160lbs and I knew there was no way we would get this toolbox in the bed of my truck. But Thomas was optimistic and we gave it a shot and failed to move the toolbox one inch off the ground. Thomas took me inside where he called for help over their PA system , asking for two people to help out in the front lot. After his announcement I watched the short female cashier not move a muscle and watched the previous employee Joseph look me straight in the eyes, looked at the toolbox that was next to my truck, then walk past it as Thomas tried to get his attention. Thomas and I were about 20 feet from Joseph and he continued to walk away. After another 10 minutes of waiting I had asked Thomas once more to ask for help and he went inside and grabbed the shorter cashier and Joseph to help me out. Once we had three Home Depot employees, including myself and my friend, we were able to lift the toolbox over our shoulders into the truck. Now I would like to mention that "Joseph" had Assistant Manager on his apron and Thomas was Mentally Disabled ( Thomas was not a problem at all) . Thomas was helpful and understanding ,however my big problem here is that a Assistant managed saw me grab this huge toolbox and thought that Thomas and I were more than capable to lift the toolbox into my truck. The fact I had to talk to five different people and no one understood when I told them this toolbox is heavy and there is no way I can do it myself. All employees today expect for Thomas seemed to careless about their jobs and care more for the paint drying on the wall. I get it was 5:00pm on a Thursday afternoon, I myself just got off work but all I was asking for was at most 1 minute of help. I didn't think that was a lot coming from employees of an Hardware store but I digress. The Hebron location was far better help in the past even when I bought close to $800 of wood from them someone from the lot came out to my truck without me asking to help me out. It shows today that it's not the job but the employees that ultimately made this trip hard. Excited about the toolbox, not so excited taking it out my bed but that's my job to do. Ooh-wee. If being spanked and called condescending names is your jam, you're gonna love it here. The staff is horrible! They won't physically slap you (maybe), but the attitude oozing from their auras is a metaphorical gut-punch. No one's friendly, no one's helpful; it's just a couple folks in orange vests waiting for God to strike the earth and your "silly" questions merely reset the clock. On the plus side, I found the HVAC filter I was looking for! Took me a whole 7 minutes, but I guess that's an accomplishment. I also made it safely from my car, to the store, and back to my car again. I should've learned my lesson after my post with their terrible customer service. I ordered our fridge on May 6th. Delivery was scheduled to arrive on June 2nd. Because I did not hear anything on delivery day I had to call to ask what time it was expected to arrive. Apparently the delivery crew had no idea about our fridge and rescheduled for today, June 7th. Meanwhile, the fridge we had broke a week prior so now we have gone 2 weeks without a fridge because of their mistake. They got here at 7:30 this morning. I understand the new fridge was big but they completely tore up our walls, scratched the fridge, and tried to pretend like it wasn't there. I have already called and made a claim. So, The Colony Home Depot may not be the biggest, or the most intensely stocked, but in the past few weeks they have proved they have heart and are beyond willing to help in these trying times. The curbside pickup is always friendly. Which helps make home projects and repairs easier to accomplish. Now I go way back out here, when there was no "Big Box" and one had to travel to Lewisville to Adams Building Supply or Payless Cashways. Imagine having to drive 15 miles just to get a piece of hardware or tool! I think that Home Depot is working on some of the concerns expressed in some of the other comments posted. They should. But for my money, I'm glad they are here, doing what they can, and trying to close the customer contact with a smile. Side note; Several years ago when a major storm came through and ravaged many homes in "The Legends" area. They came down, opened the store and gave city staff and homeowners access to such items as tarps, tools and building supplies to secure their homes. That is something I will always recall and appreciate, and always give this store first crack at my hardware and related needs. Transaction # 6562 02 47304 12/27/2018 6788 I walked into the store and notice medium foot traffic. I found most of the things I was looking for. There were lots of employees on the product floor. I asked for heater cord from one employee and was directed to isle 36. When I got there was no heater cord but a busy employee. Finally another employee walked by and I stopped him. He investigated to determine the product is available online only, thus wasting my time. When I got to the check out stands there were two full service cashiers on the side of the store I parked on. The one with the light on had blocked the entry to both cashier stands and was doing paperwork at the counter. The second employee at the opposite cashier stand without the light on was chatting personal information to the other lady. They had no eyes on customers. The self serve checkout stands were full with a person waiting. I had too much product in the cart to want to check out myself. I walked to the far end of the store and waited in line for the one available cashier to check out another customer while in discussion with an overweight black manager(didn't see his name-tag) who wandered aimlessly once he quit the conversation and the one checker could get back to work. Finally I was checked out by the one working person at the front of the store. I noticed that the store had plenty of workers but we're completely without direction or competent management or concern for the customer time or patronage. I wouldn't recommend this store anyone in the living in the vicinity unless current store management is replaced with more caring and competent folks. read more

They are always friendly and knowledgeable about any crazy project I come in there wanting to do. They can always translate my " I need a thing, that goes over the thing that's about the size of a quarter, that will make the do-be-do click into the dohickey with the help of the whatchamacallit. I think it's white??. Do you know what I am talking about?" Great service and I love their prices. They are competitive while offering a bit higher quality in my opinion. Home Depot phone customer service is the worst. I spent $780 on some new chairs that I thought the store was going to deliver assembled. Then when it came time to pay I was told the chairs would have to be shipped. I received the chairs; however, one set was missing the tools, nuts, and bolts to put them together. It took 3 phone calls snd I spent over an hour trying to get help from customer service. I finally got someone who needed me to email my receipt to them before they could help me. They then told me that I should get notified within 24 hours of when the parts would be shipped out. Never heard from anyone. Do I called back two days later. After getting dropped twice by their phone system took me over an hour to get Simone who was too busy to help me. Don't buy anything if you ever think you may need customer service. read more

I want to preface this review with, this is literally my second review of a business ever. I hope that helps explain how awful this location and its employees actually are. after spending over $3600 today, I was called by a man who accused me of "not paying for the fridge" I just spent 2 grand on. After 5 minutes of arguing he finally seemed to realize that me KNOWING the exact amount I spent to the penny PROBABLY meant I paid for the fridge. That was resolved. On top of that, I unfortunately left my wallet at one of the Pro Checkouts during the FORTY FIVE MINUTE WAIT I had, And that's just to get the fridge loaded into the truck (oh yeah don't forget this is after I went back into the store 3 times to remind them to move the fridge to my truck). So later in the day I called their number to ask anyone to check the lost and found. The response I got... "our lost and found person isn't here." *click*. 20 minutes later I call back, same lady answers, I ask for a manager to go look at the lost and found. The manager lets me know, with a very annoyed approach, that he has to walk all the way across the store (God forbid the miserable human has to get off his ass) to get to the lost and found, and that he will call me back once he gets there. Well... it's been 4 hours. Must be a long walk.... Out of respect for yourself, for the future, and for my peace of mind. NEVER shop at this worthless business. Looked to HD to obtain a bid on replacement windows. The guy came out and provided 3 bids. The first estimate was by far and away the most expensive for Brand name windows, it was obvious HD did not want to sell these windows. The second and third estimates were on products carried only by HD and STILL extremely expensive. Additionally, the guy missed 4 windows in his estimates that would have jacked up the prices even more. I asked about my Military discount and he said it would not apply as well, funny Lowes applied it.... I then called Lowes and a local company Brennans for estimates as well. Lowes came in $10k cheaper on their two estimates when compared to HD. Brennans, who btw has very good ratings came back with excellent pricing on both the brand name and their vanilla product. Their name brand was 12K cheaper and their vanilla product compared to the HD vanilla product was actually a better window (using the specs) and had an energy star rating that HD did not have. Oh and the pricing, it was $5k cheaper than HD I contacted HD and told them they were priced out of the park and asked if that was his best price. The guy said he could not move the pricing, (funny Lowes and Brennans did) and said HD offered a double lifetime warranty and the pricing difference was wrapped up in the warranty....Really??? What is "double lifetime"? How does that equate to double the price??? I did the research, the comparisons, across the board and all my comparisons were apples to apples, thus I will never use HD installation services for anything as they are far and away more expensive and deceitful. read more

Added two to my bucket and went to check out. They rang up at $3.69. I told the clerk they were on sale for "2 something". He couldn't have cared less. Said he could void the transaction if I didn't want them. I had to walk back to the display, take a pic, and come back to show him. He did reduce the price, but neither a apology nor did he give any indication he would let someone know about the incorrect pricing in their system. Buyer be AWARE! I went to Home Depot to get a quote on replacing two 50 Gallon Water Heaters. I was given a sales pitch and told many reasons why I should buy from Home Depot. One of the main selling points was that they worked with fully vetted installation contractors. These "Home Depot Approved" contractors were marketed to me as: fully licensed, insured and that they warrantied their work. My experience was quite the opposite. It is standard procedure in my town that a City Inspector comes in behind the installer to make sure the work adheres to code. When the Inspector arrived, I was immediately informed that the plumber sent by Home Depot was not licensed. Upon inspection of the work performed, the inspector told me the installation did not meet city code. I received a red tag fail on my home - a picture is attached. There can be no dispute that substandard work was performed by an unlicensed plumber. I called the plumber, who tried to "Bull Shit" their way out of the situation. I then called Home Depot who made excuses as to what happened. I had to file a complaint to Customer Service at Home Depot HQ before remediation was finally completed and the city inspection was finally passed. My issues are: 1) I was clearly told by Home Depot that a licensed plumber would complete the install and my home would pass inspection. This was a falsehood and clearly not the case. 2) The plumber would not act to rectify the issue until I had to contact Home Depot. This further shows the warranty relatively useless and is not as the language in the Home Depot contract states. 3) I find Home Deport sales tactics to be deceptive and a violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act as does two attorneys that have reviewed the matter. So, future Home Depot consumers, please be aware of this matter and make your choices accordingly. read more

Today, I was fortunate enough to meet Tony in Seasonal. Everyone seemed to be asking for Tony at some point or another while he was trying his best to help me. He was even stopped by his manager who told him he wasn't delegating his team good enough. This poor guy kept a solid attitude while trying to solve my issue of the spark plug i needed for my mower. One of the comforting things about Home Depot is that they all pretty much look the same. The pros about this HD is the back exits so you can get in and out quickly from Memorial Drive. We bought a new washer/dryer from here and the Sales Associate was helpful and really spent time talking about the pros and cons of the models we were considering. Their delivery was on time and the delivery drivers helped moved them exactly where I wanted. This store has a nice holiday section with plenty of items to choose from. The cons for me in this store are the limited items in lawn & garden. That might just be a regional & season thing so I will have to wait until spring. But even their indoor plants left a lot to be desired. Finally, the way the store is set up, I couldn't find a checkout lane with a real person in it. I had my arms full and didn't want to trudge all the way back to Lawn & Garden. They do have quite a few self-checkout lanes that were up front and center. There was a line to use those so there was a few minutes of wait time. More disappointing was the Sales Associates just milling around the self-check out areas, instead of directing overflow to wherever it is they hid the full service cashier lanes. If you want to use the military discount, you can't do that in the self-checkout lane and need to call the attendant (good luck with that). read more

All I needed was to determine if the lumber Dept had a working panel saw. It took three round trips though the phone queue, one drop and a chat with the MOD to find out. We all know if I hadn't called, it would've been a wild goose chase for naught. It might still, but if it is, I have the MODs name, and I'm not intimidated to rail on a regional VEEP. At that, the MOD seemed to think that someone looking for the specific service wouldn't know the capacity capabilities of it. A panel saw doesn't cut steel, or masonry, MOD. It cuts panels of plywood, and 2" thick lumber. IYKYK. IK. Sadly, this level of service isn't limited to HD. Lowes and Menards also suffer, possibly worse. Used to be the floor workers actually knew how to use the products; nowadays I feel fortunate if they have a clue where product is located in the store. Maybe these companies should drop their stock car racing sponsorships and buy better floor talent. read more

I visited this location on a hunt for "C" clamps or something like that. I needed about 30 of them to help hide Christmas lighting cords outside. When I entered, I have to admit.....I had no idea what I was really looking for. This location at this time was very busy, it seemed every staff member was assisting others....so I went on the hunt myself.... After a few mins (30+) I finally found someone and explained what I was looking for and the purpose.....I did get her name, however when I politely explained what I was looking for...she did not turn around or make eye contact with me....I thought I had upset her for asking. At first, I had to double check if she even worked there..yep she did. Without her looking up or at me, she told me to go check on isle 42. So I went....AND found what I was looking for. Very pleasant experience at every visit to this store. I have a lawn trimmer which was not running well after 2 years of purchase... I took it there and one o the crew..
