I bought a 2026 Highlander at Sparks Toyota in December 2025. Within several days, I had decided I wanted to return it. I was told they would not take it back. Four months later , I went back to Sparks to ask if they would buy it back. Per the sales person, I paid 42,000 for it in December 2025. They offered me $ 35,000 initially, then changed it to $38,000. Words were exchanged between the salesman and my significant other ,and we essentially thrown out of the dealership. Two days later, I went to Carmax, and they gave me $46,000 for the vehicle, and gave me a great deal on another vehicle. read more

We had a nice enough young salesman who was patient and knowledgeable, but they wanted $62k for a $50k new 4Runner that we told them were weren't interested in for our young adult daughter's first car purchase on her own. The kid insisted he just brung it up for her to look at and then drive. Then he suggested he "just run the numbers" to see where we'd be if she traded her purchased new Mazda CX-5 on that vehicle. It was still too expensive for her so he suggested a lease and came back with an offer that they claimed was a $5k down lease. What it really was, was taking her trade they'd validated at $16.5k, and expecting an additional $5k on top of that to lease an at least $12k over priced vehicle with 12k miles per year and a $41k residual payment after three years. Every now and then a really disgruntled "numbers" guy, who looked like Ichabod Crane and Steve Buscemi had a butt baby, came by to berate us about something the sales guy had suggested, as if we were somehow trying to rip them off! Horrible experience with a bunch of con artists. I'm quite surprised they ever sell a car, and have managed even a two star rating. Run, don't walk away from Sparks Toyota. read more

Owner has no business being in customer service. I took my Toyota"s to them for 12+ years. I've owned Toyota's for over 40 years. After a contentious email exchange with Patrick Spark, I took my car in for routine maintenance. One of the salesmen called me in to try and talk me into into trading in my 2018 Prius. I told him that, after my exchange with the owner, I would not buy another vehicle from Sparks. I scheduled my 40,000 mile routine maintenance for later this month and just received a call that Patrick will no longer do business with me. Since I bought 4 tires from them in the past and was given free tire rotations, they are now in breach of contract. Save yourself money and time and go elsewhere. read more

I moved to the MB area about 7 years ago, and I'm a big fan of Toyota vehicles. Since then, I have purchased 3 vehicles from Sparks, with the most recent being a 2024 Tundra limited. All of the salespeople here are great, but the salesperson who assisted me with my Tundra purchase (Joe) was definitely exceptional! He was very thorough and helpful throughout the purchase process, and when I left that day with my new truck, I felt very comfortable with the decision I made to purchase this vehicle. The other day I stopped in to see Joe with a concern I had about my truck, and he acknowledged me (and the situation) right away, discussed thing over with his manager, and returned with a very reasonable resolution. we went to the dealership to find her a used car salesman told us that they had got a car that just came in. He said they put a new battery in there which doesn't look like it was done. He said they put a front alignment on the vehicle, which wasn't done the dealership had to know that the vehicle had some problems, but they did nothing about it. I called him on the phone to see if they could make good on their on their sale but of of course they declined. They informed me that I bought the vehicle in as his condition, but I would not have gotten it had I known that they didn't fix what the salesman had told me they fixed.. in my opinion that is bad customer service. While in Myrtle Beach, I wanted to rent a car for a few days. The rental car agencies that I called did not have any vehicles available. Someone told me about Sparks Toyota, so I called, and Wa-La!! they had cars available. They offer pick-up and drop-off service as a courtesy. The new Toyota Camry I rented drove so smoothly that I fell in love with it. The pickup and return were also smooth. I've been a long time loyal buyer of Toyota. I will not buy any further Toyotas as dealing with Sparks for the past 4 years has been a nightmare on more than one occasion. One hand does not help the other in their company. Forget getting quotes for work to be performed as advisors tell you to go to parts and get the price then come back and we will give you the service quote and this happened on two recent occasions. Since when did Toyota split the process and tell their customers they must hunt the parts and price down. it used to be you request a quote and they give it to you. Nope as they don't make their people work but they want us to spend 50-60K on a car? Service is important. Keeping your customers happy is important. Hiring a bunch young kids and making that a priority post over customer service is not what a business should be doing. Then you have an appointment for something that takes 15min (remote programming) and you're there an 1.5hrs like our time isn't as important. Sparks needs to get their house in order or Toyota should strip them of the right to sell their brand - all complaints will be forwarded to them. 30 years buying Toyotas and Sparks has destroyed that. Why buy a car from someone who truly doesn't care to keep their customer base happy and coming back. We had a terrible experience last week when we brought our car in for a simple oil and transmission oil change. After the service was done we were told that they also rotated our tires which was ok. I guess it is customarily done when getting an oil change. After all was done we were ready to leave and noticed the tire pressure sensors were not working. They were working nicely before the service. The attendant told us that they will come on automatically after a while. Nothing. it has been 4 days and still they did not come on. We had them checked out and were told the back two were damaged. I called Sparks and explained everything and were told that they are not liable for the damage of even though they were working properly when we brought in the car. We really respected this dealership and bought cars from them at one time but not anymore. I would like to caution everybody also when taking your cars in for service. read more

Beware!!! Do not buy from here! I recently experienced blatant BAIT AND SWITCH tactics that were both unethical and a waste of time. They advertised a vehicle online for $78,490 with a slashed price, implying a discount. When I asked, the salesman claimed it meant the price was "negotiable." 90 minutes later, the salesman revealed the actual price was over $88,000, blaming a "third-party mistake." They offered just $1,000 off. The sales manager then said it was not a third-party mistake, and the low Internet pricing was intentional - he told me they do this to draw people in, yet they will not sell the vehicles at the listed price. When I tried to leave they pressured me to stay. The manager, Todd Blackwell, was rude and condescending when he admitted they use misleading pricing to get people through the door. He falsely claimed disclaimers explained the higher price (not true- there are no disclaimers), laughed at me, and treated me like I was stupid. His behavior was grossly unprofessional. I previously purchased a vehicle here and was satisfied, but after this experience, I will never recommend them. In fact, I'll actively discourage others from buying here. I was excited to purchase my fourth Toyota but will never buy another. Don't waste your time or trust this dealership. They don't deserve your business. Post-note: This happened on Thursday. The salesman sent me long/concerning text messages the night after I left the dealership. On Saturday morning I had FOUR calls from the salesman and the supposed "manager" Mohammed Salah's phone. I bought a used car from this establishment and was scammed. Bryan, the salesman, was polite but very dishonest. Two months later, I'm bringing my car to get evaluated as I'm having steering wheel and clicking issues underneath the vehicle. I have tried to call Bryan and he does not get back to you. During, the trade of my 2012 Mazda 3, I was told Sparks Toyota would give me a $1500 trade. Upon looking at my paperwork, you gave me $500 for my Mazda and had me put $1000 down in cash. You only paid $500 for my car and used my $1000 out of my pocket as if this was a return to me. I lost $1000. I am in the process with the BBB and in contact with my lawyer. read more

I was then told they would not be sending me the bumping because it is too big and fragile to be shipped. What's the point of paying for oversized shipping if it's "too big," to be shipped. If you have to pay out of pocket, please go to a reputable honest repair shop such as Averill or Larry's Auto. They are both outstanding and reasonable priced. Our engine light came on on our Toyota Prius. I checked the gas cap and it was fine, not loose as this is a common cause of check engine light coming on. We took car to Sparks as we have a "bumper to bumper peace of mind" warranty. The service manager, who spoke pure condescending automotive double talk also checked the gas cap. It was tight to her inspection. She then had the car checked by the technician. Diagnosis loose gas cap. Cost $159 for a five minute fix after she already told us prior to formally servicing the car that the gas cap was not loose. And it wasn't by my inspection but hers. So we have bumper to bumper peace of mind warranty that cost 1500. We were told (really) that the gas cap was not between the bumpers, that this peace of mind warranty only covers about 90% of what can go wrong, and that Fred Anderson of Charleston who sold us the warranty lied to us by describing it as 100% coverage. But even so. 159 for a five minute fix? Really? Great work I suppose if you do not mind taking advantage of senior citizens on social security. If you have a choice, go to Averill. read more

However, Sparks Toyota and their leading salesman, Joseph Gildea, take the cake. Here's what happened: I walked into the agency on December 19 and asked to buy a 2023 Prius Hybrid Limited. I got Joseph Gildea for a salesman. Joseph Gildea told me the dealership did not have any 2023's, and they had no idea when they would get one. However, Joseph Gildea said they had a 2022 coming in about a month and diligently started to sell me that automobile. Well, I wanted a 2023, but I needed a car. So I suggested to Joseph Gildea I buy the 2022 and put down a $1000 deposit so I would have first option on the 2023 model when the dealership finally received one. I could then trade-in the 2022 model and buy the 2023. JOSEPH GILDEA SAID THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA AND IT SHOULDN'T COST ME BUT $2,000 OR $3,000. So I bought the 2022 Prius Hybrid Limited from Joseph Gildea. With taxes and fees I paid $41,500. (You might check and see if you think that was a fair price.) At the same time I bought the 2022 Prius, I paid a $1000 deposit to have the right to buy the first 2023 Prius Hybrid Limited when it arrived. Now the dealership expects to receive the first 2023 Prius Hybrid Limited in about two weeks. Joseph Gildea called and informed me. So I went to Sparks Toyota today so they could appraise the 2022 Prius , and I could trade it in and buy the 2023 Prius. They appraised the 2022 Prius and informed me that after 21/2 months and 1690 miles it was worth $31,000. I said, Joseph Gildea you said it would only cost me $2,000 or $3,000 to do this, and the car is brand new. JOSEPH GILDEA SAID EVERYBODY KNOWS AS SOON AS A NEW CAR ROLLS OFF THE LOT IT TAKES A BIG HIT FOR DEPRECIATION AND THAT WE ARE ALL LIARS. No, he did not say, "we are all liars." Terrible experience with the sales department. Went in to look at and test drive a RAV4 and was immediately shown a different model car, despite asking multiple times to view the car I originally asked to see. Salesman was pushy, condescending, and flat out rude. Never got to see a new RAV4 (despite seeing at least two with dealer plates on the lot) and wasn't offered the opportunity to test drive anything. With the older user model RAV4 I was allowed to see, I was only given a tour of the trunk - never got the rundown of any interior features except for cargo space. I left and immediately went to a different dealership where I was treated with respect and actually got to see the car I came in for. Would not recommend giving your business to this dealership after my experience. read more
