Everyone here is friendly, professional and speedy. The nurse who started my IV did it in the hand which is a difficult and usually painful place to put it. I hardly felt it all, which is amazing! What a pro! The next day I could hardly see where it had been located. The nurse anesthetist came to see me as well as the other nurse in the procedure room and the doctor as well. My husband and I have been in several surgery centers and it usually takes forever (I'm talking hours) for the physician to see you after the procedure and discharge you. Not here! They are so busy they have to be efficient to stay on time. My procedure was at 8:30 and I was discharged at 9:35. Unbelievable! We will be back.

We had a moment of confusion concerning my gender, but the Medical Staff was only unfamiliar with my paperwork dilemma. ("Is this an Insurance form or a Medical Form?" is the sort of question a Non-Binary person has to ask when there is only a binary checkbox and it is almost never labeled with the correct terminology. Obvs, nobodies fault stuff like that happens all the time. :) The Medical Assistants were all quick, efficient and genuinely pleased to be of service! They got me in early for my appointment too. I won't say my Doctor's name, but they were openly and respectfully curious as to how they might be of service to a Transgender Person, when so often the past told a different story. :( My Doctor addressed my every concern and meeting with them was very pleasant. The fish tank next to the check-out desk has an _Actual_Literal_Sea_Urchin_! They are very black, except for their orange rude part, and about nine inches across. The Staff Person at the check-out desk was friendly and enthusiastic! They walked me through every step of the check-out process with a smile! The Medical Assistant thanked me for coming in today! I am totally 100% assured that they will follow up with me at every opportunity and that our relationship will continue to be successful and pleasant.

Wrong prescription was sent to pharmacy…read more Was on hold for a total of two and a half hours, to be told a nurse would call me back. She never did, went there the next day in person and spoke to a nurse practitioner (Beth)who changed the prescription. Her attitude was horrible, told me I was rude for asking to speak with someone in person. She said that my situation was not an urgency, and that it was rude to show up in person to ask for the correction to be made. Then she went on to claim that the reason behind their ineptness was lack of employees. Let me be frank, she is an awful person with a passive aggressive attitude who should not be allowed to speak with patients. Please avoid this place

Capital Area Medical seems to control a lot of doctors in the Lansing area. They set up appointments, decide who gets to transfer their medical file, and which patients to 'ban' from going to their doctors for 'nonpayment'. I am on that list. I got so pissed off at them for the drama on the phone that I decided to find a doctor close by who DIDN'T use this billing company. Yes, I would have paid the 87 bucks by the 1st of the following month, but the female who answers for Lansing and Mason decided to throw a temper tantrum, pretend she talked to the doctor 'about my situation', and in general showed herself to be a vindictive, petty, drama queen. She even called and told me I 'wasn't allowed to transfer the medical file' to another doctor who uses her services. So Dr. Laurain personally made sure my file got to my new doctor who was not so far away. Sorry doc, but I hate your billing service, and we know I lived too far away to come in regularly like you pointed out I should. Meanwhile, Dr. Laurain, you need to have a talk with the company who waited NINE MONTHS to bill for my last visit. What was she doing besides making nasty drama ridden phone calls? Doing her nails? Hopefully you changed billing companies in the last year since I called. Meanwhile, I recommend the doctor. He's good. He doesn't make you wait forever for an appointment. Worth a little drive once in awhile.

Wouldn't give me any details about when I could be rescheduled, and never gave me my $20 copay back.

The nurses are friendly as well. It is overall a comforting environment. They bring a sense of humor into the atmosphere to help you feel more at ease.

I've been using MMP OB/GYN for several years (and through three pregnancies) and have been…read moredelighted with them. Dr. Takyi delivered my first, Dr. Herta my second, and I'm currently pregnant with No. 3. Dr. Herta is my primary OB, and I love her, but I've liked all of the OBs, NPs and the CNM that I've met there. The nurses are fantastic (one in particular always goes out of her way to aak about my kids), and the front desk staff has always been friendly and helpful. On the occasions when I've had a problem, someone has always gotten back to me right away. My current baby has given us a lot of worries, but whenever I've called in with a question or concern, they've gotten me in right away for a checkup (and ultrasound, if necessary). A good friend also went through a pregnancy with some unknowns (due to her own health issues) with Dr. Herta and was very happy with her. MMP OB/GYN is definitely known around town as one of the more natural childbirth-friendly practices. In the two deliveries I've had with them, there were minimal interventions (as per my request), and I felt like both were fantastic experiences. My only complaint about the practice is that it can be a little difficult to get in, particularly to see Dr. Herta, of you aren't pregnant or having a major problem, or if you're a new patient.

I really wish that we had shopped around more. We've both seen several different doctors, because it can be difficult to make an appointment with the doctor they assigned as our primary care physician. After initially seeing him for my physical, I returned two weeks later for a pap smear and he didn't remember me. With a few exceptions, the staff do not come across as friendly, and I usually feel like I'm inconveniencing them simply by being there for my appointments. When I've brought health concerns to the doctors I've seen, they have repeatedly dismissed or ignored my reports, sometimes allowing treatable conditions to worsen before they take them seriously enough to treat them. When my husband developed sciatica, he received no advice or treatment at all until his third visit to seek treatment. He was simply told to wait and see if it went away, despite the fact that it was causing him a great deal of pain. When he was finally referred to a physical therapist, his pain decreased drastically and he has been able to maintain the improvement at home. MMP has been singularly unhelpful compared to the various other doctors/facilities I've used in the past. We're moving soon, and I can't wait to shop for a doctor who'll actually be able to see me at appointments and who will actually treat me promptly if I'm sick or in pain.

That about sums up everything you can expect out of this facility. Unless you want to drop your loved one off to die, avoid this awful place at all costs.
