Before hiring him, I specifically asked if he could make it after 12:00 PM. He said yes. I then asked if he could be there before 1:00 PM, and he confirmed he could. The next day he messaged saying his previous job was taking longer than expected. I completely understood that. I even told him that the exact time wasn't the issue. I simply needed the job completed sometime that day because it was important to my schedule, my home, and my family. Instead of honoring the commitment he made, he asked to move the job to the next morning. I explained that wasn't an option because I had hired him specifically because he said he could do it that day. When I told him that if he chose not to complete the job as promised, I would be leaving an honest negative review, his response was completely unprofessional. He told me to "shut up," said I was "very bad at what I do," threatened to report me for harassment, and told me to "get someone else." That kind of communication from the owner of a business is unacceptable. Everyone gets behind sometimes. Jobs run late. I understand that because I run a business too. What I don't understand is speaking to a customer that way after you fail to follow through on your own commitment. I'm a very reasonable person. If Sam had simply called, apologized, and handled this professionally, this review probably wouldn't exist. Mistakes happen. How you respond to them says everything about your business. As of today, I have screenshots of the entire conversation documenting exactly what happened. This review reflects my personal experience with this company. Until the owner takes responsibility, offers a genuine apology, and handles situations like a professional, I cannot recommend MST Services. If you're considering hiring this company, just be aware that this was my experience.

What stood out the most throughout the project was Nick's attention to detail and the continued pride he takes in his work after more than 20 years of experience. At one point, the pavers that were delivered didn't meet his standards, so he had the entire shipment returned rather than installing subpar materials. That told me a lot about the kind of company he runs. The quality of the finished product speaks for itself. The pavers have clean, straight lines, our garden area was laid out perfectly, and the artificial turf looks great (our dogs have already put it to the test and it has held up wonderfully). Nick was easy to work with from beginning to end. He listened to what we wanted, was honest throughout the process, and also suggested improvements we hadn't thought about, including solving our drainage issues and running low-voltage wiring around the backyard so we'll be able to add landscape lighting later without tearing anything up. His crew was professional and skilled as well. Our project wasn't the biggest one they'll ever do, but after this experience I'd have no hesitation hiring Tranquil Oasis Landscapes again or recommending them to friends and family. It all started…read morewith the backyard where they add pavers to extend the patio, realigned a paver pathway, added plants and trees, added both turf and a small area of real grass (for our dogs), updated irrigation, removed gravel and added river rock. I was so pleased with the work that I contracted them to do my front yard and side yards as well. For the front yard, Nick the owner, provided a scale drawing of the new layout following our conversations about what I was looking for. After HOA approval, they transformed my mainly gravel front yard into a beautiful park-like environment with turf, new plants, new lights, new irrigation, new pavers. It's beautiful and I couldn't be more pleased. Finally, I asked them to update my side yard. It was originally an ugly, unused gravel area with weeds. After collaborating with Nick, he came up with a beautiful design that once again transformed a small space. They added grass (for the dogs), irrigation, pavers, river rock, a new hose bib, lighting, bottle brush trees that will eventually provide nice shade for this east facing area (but won't overwhelm the space), and they assembled several vego planters (for which I haven't quite decided what I want planted there) Nick, along with his foreman Guillermo and the rest of the team, are professional, responsible, responsive, creative, collaborative, easy to work with, and create beautiful spaces. As we got closer to the completion date (January 2025), we began our search for landscaping professionals. MDG was recommended to us from an architect we've been following on Instagram for several years. Between that recommendation, MDG's own Instagram portfolio, and their online reviews, we thought this might be a fit. We initially worked with Andrew, who was super accommodating - first working with us over email and Zoom, then meeting us at the homesite in person when we flew out here for progress checks. He was great working with two people who have never had any outdoor space (former apartment/condo/townhouse people) and were mostly clueless about what we wanted other than some Pinterest inspo photos. And he was also just so perfect for us specifically - he is a former east coaster himself and a dog-person - so he knew to explain things we wouldn't know (e.g. window reflections can melt turf in this Arizona heat) and how to prioritize our dogs' needs (e.g. our pool has a ledge so if a pup falls in, they're not far from safety). There was never any pressure - to go a certain direction, to exceed our budget, or to hurry up with decisions. Andrew was always prepared to talk in detail about options, tradeoffs, and pros/cons - and to let us see how those different things would look using his design software. We eventually landed on a design that we loved, that met our HOA requirements, and that met state and local requirements - all of which MDG took care of (e.g. HOA application info, county permits, etc.). Eddie and the teams on our property to complete the work were great. Everyone was kind, everything was kept as tidy as possible throughout the work; someone even came over on their day off because of a big rain storm - just to make sure everything was put away. Our project wrapped on time, on budget, and on expectations. We had a super informative final walkthrough - letting us know how to work everything, when to maintenance things, etc. And then we've heard from the team a few times since - just checking in on us. Our backyard is our sacred space - we LOVE it. All our guests love it. We've caught neighbors taking photos as inspo for their own yards. It's very simple because it prioritizes our view and our pups, but we've seen much more elaborate work MDG has done - so whatever your project, we would highly recommend MDG!
