Overall our experience with Pool and Landscape was good. The reason I gave the rate I did was because we did have issues with our project. We had a few re work done and our main issue was plumbing. That pushed out our project for another month. Our project manager was very nice and would have liked better communication with him. I think if our project manager were to supervise the plumbing work we would've saved a lot of time on the project. Our pool did come out looking amazing I do recommend them as a pool company. I can't complain at all , I had the pleasure of working with salesman Jeff E which I'm happy I got him he was a true down to earth guy not trying to sell you stuff you don't need or want. I shopped around and had 4 different pool companies give me quotes for basically the same set up and Jeff by far came in with the best price and gave me some great advice and options without losing what I wanted. I believe I signed my contract on January 24th and the dog started January 31st so turnaround time to start was ridiculously fast , my last pool took over 3 weeks just to get permit so this was great. Jeff actually showed up on dig day with donuts for everyone and to see if we had a hard dig and as luck would have it no hard dig which was a shock considering every house around me had a hard dig. The dig crew was great cleaned up everything and didn't leave the house or yard destroyed. Next was when Randy showed up to go over step by step of what was going to get done and when he was at my house several times every week to check up in things and answer any questions I had , and if by chance I needed him to look at anything he wouldn't hesitate to come by and check things out . I believe they told me the pool would be up and running within 45 days which would be by middle to late March and they were right around that time , of course there were delays due to heavy rains but that has to be expected . Next was the hard scale crew that did all the travertine bbq firepit. Humberto and his crew were 2nd to none they did an amazing job to where I know I won't ever be that person calling someone to fix there work just an outstanding job all around. All the other trades that did there work were great as well down to electrical and plumbing . I know it's hard to choose companies knowing your spending a lot of money with them and they didn't make me feel stressed at all they gave me a sheet showing how much and when payments needed to be made , which you had all at the tap of a button on there poollogic site. I also have to thank the pool setup guy Jimmy , now this guy goes above and beyond on everything he doesn't do a half ass job of telling you as little as possible he will explain every single thing in full detail so that you understand and no question is dumb for him he knows his stuff and has obviously been in the business a long time and it definitely shows just an absolute scholar in the pool business. Again thank you to Jeff , Randy and Jimmy and all others who had anything to do with the creation of my backyard. Also if you are thinking of doing a pool give these guys a try ask for Jeff and tell em Chris sent you he will give you a great deal. DO NOT HIRE .... I am currently in the middle of a dig and it has been a miserable experience ... I have a small pool being dug and signed on Feb 17th ... The first dig was supposed to be June 16th (no call no show) they came on June 21st.... Plumbing did not start till August ! So I had a hole in my backyard for two months with two dogs stuck inside the house and my brick wall broken down and open to anything to go back there. Aug comes around and plumbing finally gets done then rebar then electric .. after many set backs still. They failed inspection not once but twice with the city. When I was told it got fixed and was on the schedule for shotcrete .... I woke up to a tractor in my pool digging everything up. (Plumbing and rebar) I called Randy the project manager and he stated "they needed to fix the depth of pool. We just wanted to get cleared of the inspection from the city first" .. Wait wait wait? Sooooo now you're being shady? I wrote Dawn in office who I communicate only through email the most (which I don't understand she has never come to my home to see project but ok) and she said she wasn't aware of this but still on the list for a shotcrete date. First off it took them 3 months to finish the plumbing rebar and electric .. how are you going to finish all those again before a shotcrete date ? I wrote and asked when plumbing will come ... She said they came down with covid and is waiting on a date ..... ( Oh that's funny that was the excuse they made on Aug 26th when plumbing didn't show up ) I would be using different plumbers by this time! Just saying! I have tried reaching out to Tim Mass and still nothing .. I told Dawn to have him contact me .. and still nothing. Also the last time the diggers came they took a bucket I used in back yard for cleaning up the messes they make .... Yes it's only a bucket that I got from auto zone to clean my cars with ... But it's the principle of this whole situation .. their workers are stealing shit right out of my yard .... We are in the middle of a 82,000 dollar pool/hot tub build. We are paying cash. We put our first payment down on October 12, 2021. I was told walking out the door that we would have water in the ground within 6 months. Mind you, this was in the middle of Covid - it's not like no one saw it coming. Come the end of January we still didn't have permits approved. I contacted the office and magically on February 2nd we had approved permits. Why did it take 4 months just to get the initial permits approved? I'm going to contact the Buckeye permit office and find out when the initial permits were sent in. I have neighbors all around me that are having pools put in that signed their contacts in 2022. Some are already swimming but ALL of them are far beyond the progress of mine. We are now in a situation where we may not even be able to enjoy our pool this summer. I can't speak to the finished product as of yet but I will say this - do NOT believe the estimates given for when your pool will be done. On Tuesday, May 19, 2020, my wife and I signed a contract to have our pool and backyard remodeled by Pool & Landscape AZ. It has been a nightmare ever since. Poor to little communication not just with us, but also within their own project team (pool chippers, deck team and tilers). · July 20, 2020, at 9:08am Diego, the project foreman, arrived at our house to start up our remodeled pool, this was after the date we were told the job would be completed (tentative date given was by July 4) The very next day at 5:48pm we notified Diego that there was an issue with the pool. Our new remodeled pool was leaking over a thousand gallons of water a day. The owner, Tim Maas, told us it was an existing leak. We tried for months to explain this was not possible but he was only concerned with collecting his final payment instead of supplying good customer service. We sent him detailed information showing the very big difference in our water usage-attachment (1a) In addition, we notified our project manager that we were having issues with the drip system they installed, it was not working properly. We waited a couple weeks for them to check the system, because they claimed it was working efficiently. (Photos 2, 2a) Once they came out it was clear there was a leak in the drip system. After much back and forth, we told Tim we were calling a leak detection company. Upon hearing this, Tim scheduled someone to come out and check for leaks. Tim got the report from the leak detection person and told us the leak was in the spa, and that it was an existing leak. Again, we showed him the water usage report. Again, he denied it was his crew that caused the leak and demanded his final payment. At this point he put a lien on our home because we would not make the final payment until the leak was found and fixed. After months of not being able to use our pool - when we turned the pool on it would leak almost a thousand gallons of water a day- we scheduled our own leak detection crew to come out and find the leak. (Picture 3, 3a, 3b,3c). These pictures were their findings. We were not happy with the quality of work or the customer service of Pool & Landscape AZ. Here are photos of their so-called quality craftsmanship. (Pictures 4,5,6,7,8) It has been over eight months. We still have issues. The electrical system that they installed "shorts out" during rain or when we plug 2 appliances into the bar, which they built. My wife text Tim Maas, the owner, and he told her it was a "warranty issue" even though we notified his foreman (Gus) on October 29th that we were having this issue. We have taken close to 100 pictures. We have numerous texts and emails verifying our concerns, complaints and frustration. Their communication throughout the project was horrible. We constantly had to ask about everything. Communication was non existent. Nothing was proactive. They would get upset when we would question their quality or question why something was being done In a certain way. We are waiting to see if they will stand by their warranties. read more

Pool turned out beautiful after several delays and many, many phone calls. It took a month longer than expected which is probably typical for all pool builders. The real issue has been trying to get warranty work completed now that they have been paid in full. My original request was on July 2nd. I emailed about several issues, two of which have been solved. There have been 9 emails exchanged since then and still the work isn't complete. It is very frustrating. I understand Covid is a huge issue but 6 months is unreasonable. read more

He was genuinely a pleasure to meet with and brought up important things to consider, that we hadn't given much thought to (pool placement in relation to surrounding homes windows, pool equipment placement in relation to the space one one side of the home being mostly unusable due to the AC units and putting the pool equipment there since it's already unusable for landscaping etc.) He had a great personality and wasn't trying to sell us stuff we didn't want or need. He was straight forward and listened to exactly what we wanted. Which we genuinely appreciated. Also wanted to note: The choice to use another company had nothing to do with Pool and Landscape AZ we just happened to catch a really good sale with someone else. My sister just bought a new house a little over a year ago in San Tan Valley, always dreamed of having a pool, and was finally going to be able to get one! She decided to go with Pool and Landscape AZ because they had a great pool & landscape package deal they were offering. Since I was staying with her and here during the days, I dealt mostly with the ins and outs of the construction of it and helped her with the design. We were immediately thrilled with our designer Matt who was not only extremely knowledgeable but very helpful in helping my sister decide what she wanted for the price she was willing to spend-- which is not an easy feat, especially since my sister can be very indecisive. Matt handled it like a champ. We were very comfortable with him as a person and with his expertise. He made us feel at ease with the process. He was on the ball, very communicative, and seemed to understand well what my sister was wanting (again, not an easy feat). Afterwards we were assigned Gus as our project coordinator. As the one who had to handle the logistics of things, I was beyond appreciative that Gus was absolutely outstanding! Just like Matt, he was on top of everything, extremely communicative, responsive and explained the process to me so I knew what was happening every step of the way. It was a massive relief considering the process of ripping up your yard and putting in a pool can be pretty stressful. I felt like I had a partner in it who had our backs! Now that's not to say there weren't quite a few bumps along the way. Honestly, there were a lot more snags than we would have liked that got increasingly frustrating, but that had everything to do with the hired contracting companies, unfortunate unforeseen circumstances and still being knee-deep in the pandemic (this was during the summer); tiles being backordered (my sister's first three choices for the waterline tile was unfortunately completely out of stock and she had to settle for a very distant fourth choice), a shortage of electrical chips for the pumps, workers getting sick from Covid, etc. Not what I would consider the fault of the pool company, however. While not a totally stress-free experience we are still overall happy with this company, how they handled the issues that popped up and most of all, the final product of the backyard! Also, shout out to the scheduling coordinator Dawn. That is NOT an easy job, I know as I've had experience coordinating the schedules of a large and diverse set of incredibly busy people before, and I'm sure she puts up with a lot of incoming frustrations (as well as her own). All in all, I would highly recommend this company. Unfortunately Gus was asked to oversee another region for the company (I think out in Surprise, North Scottsdale), but if you're lucky enough to get him as your project coordinator, you're in good hands! Scott was the PC that came in at the end and he went above and beyond to make sure, when things got sticky with one of the contractors, that we were happy. read more

Pool and Landscape AZ did a great job and I am very happy with the results. I got quotes from several of the well known pool companies and Pool and Landscape AZ was cheaper by $5K - $10K. I met with these companies as well as price doesn't matter if the work is cheaper too. The sales guy Jeff in the West Valley office was head and shoulders above all the others. He's a local guy with tons of experience and knowledge. He doesn't try to oversell, but will give you plenty of advise and as many opinions as you want! I changed my mind several times as we went from initial meeting to final build, but Jeff was very patient and made sure we got it all right before I signed off. When I signed he gave me a rough timeline, and it was completed within those parameters, even with all the trade and material delays that have been apart of the new normal these days. My PM Randy is a good guy, and was available whenever needed. The Scheduler Dawn was Awesome! She kept me up to date whenever one of the trades were due to come in, when they had to move up or move back dates, and would quickly answer any questions I sent her. I've had four front and backyard remodeling projects done through Pool and Landscape AZ over the last six years. Each one of them has turned out very well, and really freshened up the look at each home. We've done the following types of project work with Tim over the years: - Building gas fire pits with travertine and stacked stone - Building gas BBQ islands with travertine, stucco and stacked stone - Incorporating a new spa and water feature to an existing in-ground pool - Artificial turf installations - Remodeling existing pergolas with stacked stone columns - Pool decking and interior surface remodels - Low voltage lighting - Rock/plant removal and installing new rock and plants Tim Maas sets a positive and ethical example for his company. He is responsive and reasonable throughout. His ideas are creative and incorporate what I've been looking for (or otherwise could not articulate properly). It seems like either the support staff doesn't know what areas you work in or your automated response to requests are not accurate. We requested a design consultation via the web site and Amy contacted my wife and told her you don't work in Maricopa. Yet the automated response indicates you work closely with permitting in both Maricopa and Pinal counties. Pool Permits No matter who builds your new pool it has to be permitted by a city or county. We've worked with just about every permitting entity in Maricopa & Pinal County's and we have staff specifically dedicated to making sure that the permit process goes as smoothly as possible. I guess we will look for someone who knows what they do. read more

Well we have had a few issues the Job is not finished, the pool does have water but the yard is a mess piles of dirt everywhere, rebar and wires sticking out of the ground, stack stone falling off the spa, installed unevenly all the way around sticks out in certain areas, you touch it and it moves, the travertine coping is uneven I have inch and half over over hang in some areas and in other areas no over hang, gaps throughout the stacked stone, the stacked stone was installed on dirt, this makes me question all the work and the lack of quality in the work, electrical run is exposed and not done to code should be 6 inches below ground, will be hiring an electrician to correct this as I do not trust the guys coming back to do this correctly the electrical should have been ran differently not under ground because the way its is currently I cannot finish my landscape due to the electrical being basically above pool level. project manager hasn't been to the property in 4 weeks to even inspect the work that has been completed. No Kind of quality control in place to make sure the workers are doing it correctly we basically are doing the inspections ourselves. read more

Signed a contract with this company over a year ago and our pool is still unfinished. Getting results from them has been horrible. One whole side of the pool was left exposed for 10 months. We finally took care of it ourselves. The dirt dug out of the pool itself was left on property and is still there waiting for a response from them as to when it will be removed. We were assigned a new supervisor 3 times during the process making it easy for them to pass the buck. We have experienced problems from the very start. Many of them we have dealt with ourselves and we still have many unresolved issues. Be sure to read the reviews online before you sign with company. This is apparently a common problem. read more

I had David out around this time last year to give me a quote on a pool and landscape package. This is something I've wanted to do to my home for a while now and I have been saving specifically for this project. We had decided to shelf the project and possibly buy a new home, but with the current market conditions, we agreed staying in our home was a smarter move. So here we are a year later, still in need of a pool. I reached back out to get the process started and had poor communication with David. I called the office and asked if there was a different sales person they could put us in touch with. Today I was emailed by David, he sent me over a new quote which was about $9k more than the original, which is fine we understand the construction industry is crazy busy and prices as a whole are increasing with every trade. I had emailed David back and asked if they could do the job for a price that was about $1500 less than the quote he sent me today (as this is what we had budgeted for). He emailed me back and stated that they have been advised not to sign difficult customers. As this is my first time doing a project of this scope, I did not think my request was difficult. A simple "no we can't do that" would have sufficed. I wish I could have had the same great experience many others have had. My apologies to Pool and Landscape AZ. I picked pool and landscape about 3 1/2 years ago. I had a great experience with them even after the fact. About 1 year ago my travertine started to crumble on my entire patio. I called for them to come and take a look at it to give me my options. Darrin came out to look and was surprised it was as bad as I stated. With no hesitation he told me that they would warranty out my entire patio. Now with COVID and everything else that we were dealing with, I am happy to say that my patio is finally replaced. We are THRILLED with the final product! We had a pool with an electric heat+cool pump put in. What we were less than thrilled about was the general communication between the project manager and the subs. But in this current construction environment it is to be expected. Our project manager was extremely overwhelmed with all his pool projects or at least came off that way. The industry is booming right now and it's definitely pushing people to the brink. The one MAJOR improvement we have given the owner is to under promise and over deliver. Expect MINIMUM 6 months from contract signing to pool build right now and if anyone tells you different from this company know they are wrong. Our pool was finished is just under 6 months from contract signing to swim (12 weeks to get the permits and come dig then another 10 weeks to complete the project). I wish I wouldn't have believed them when they said 4-6 weeks to completed on dig day. We all live and learn! We will see how responsive they are able to be to any issues that may arise under warranty with how overwhelmed they are on the day to day operations side. read more

BUT, I would NEVER use them again or recommend them! Over promised & definitely under delivered time wise. Wrote my first check in September 2018. Was promised by three different management people it would be done before Christmas. This was the key to getting the job. I paid my final check in February 2019. I finally had to hold back payments to get it finished including the punch list. Almost five months. When promised three months. Totally messed up our Christmas plans. If I wouldn't have been there everyday there would have been several costly mistakes. As it was they still made mistakes. The Sub Formans & their crews were terrific. It wasn't their fault. I reviewed my experience with this Company a year and a half ago, after they renovated my backyard with travertine, artificial turf, new LED lighting, etc. I had the most wonderful experience, everything from start to finish was fantastic, including an outstanding crew and wonderful supervisor, Diego. But the real test of a Company is whether they will return to do follow up work or repairs if needed. Well, after a year and a half, some of the travertine tiles settled, and needed to be regrouted. I called the office, got a return call the same day asking for details and pictures, and my same crew that did the installation came back to repair within a week! The crew also checked all other tiles, including the ones in and around the pool, to see if they needed any repair. Its amazing that the same crew was still with the Company after that time had passed, but not with this Company! Tim Maas, the owner is fantastic and is a true man of his word. He sets a great example for his employees and the crew was genuinely happy to come back to do the repairs and see how the yard looked after that time had passed. Not impressed. Called to a quote to re-plaster my pool. It took two calls to get someone to return the call and set up someone to come out. All other companies that quoted, returned the quote within 24 hours of coming to my home. This company took two week to get back to me AND there quote was twice the amount of the other 3 quotes that I got. If it takes them that long to quote and follow up, I wonder how long it would take to complete the job. Oh yes and let me pay more too! Not interested. read more

They designed a beautiful grotto pool with a Baja along with large patio using beautiful travertine. After meeting twice with their estimator Scott and thoroughly explaining what we wanted (twice), picking out tile, travertine and colors for the cool deck, as soon as we handed him the down payment (less than 24 hours after signing the agreement) Scott started changing the bid. He didn't seem to recall the conversations about our desire to have the cool deck completely ground off and completely resurfaced, so of course it was going to cost us more money! He started advising that there could also be additional cost when their inspector came out. After already having a bad experience with another pool remodeling company, this is when the red flags started going up. All of that was frustrating enough but what annoyed me most of all was that Scott seemed fo use his professed Christianity as a method of gaining our trust. It almost worked, but thank God we were able to see through this sales tactic and cancel the deal. In reading the good reviews, I don't doubt that some customers did actually have a good experience, but for us, the trust went straight out the window with Scott's lack of integrity. read more

We're on day 58 of a project that doesn't include a pool and were just informed that it will be at least another two weeks before it's completed. We're beyond frustrated with the lack of coordination amongst work groups/contractors. While the initial hardscape updates and additions have been mostly completed, we've been waiting on pergola and landcaping for over two weeks. Once the landscaping is finished we can complete with turf, but I'm guessing that won't be coordinated, so we'll wait an extra week or two for that as well. I have confidence that we'll be happy with the final result, but the amount of time it's taking -simply because no one is coordinating the different contractors - is extremely irritating and frustrating. read more
