No refusal after all paperworks signed and done, I was told to come back 4:00-4:30 PM for pick up. While I was on my way around 4:00 PM, I got a called and was told there was an "incident" and service couldn't be performed on my cat, so they will need to reschedule. Shockingly, even with an appointment and you dropped off on-time, you could get bumped off. When I picked up my cat, I asked if the appointment can be rescheduled now, and was told they will do it later (yup, not at that moment, LATER). Reschedule through their end is the only way to have the old deposit honored by the way. Now I'm being stringed along for an appointment may or may not be made. My cat is a female kitten who test positive for FeLV, so the window to spay is extremely limited, considering if the procedure to be done while she in heat cycle will be even more riskier. seems disingenuous to put a cat with pre-existing condition to a bigger risk and not respect owner's time. read more

It's incredibly disorganized. Over 75 animals (maybe 100+ people) lined up around the building at 7:00 AM. The wait outside was an hour, and another hour inside. So there goes your morning. Add travel time and that's three hours. Drop off the fur baby. They say they'll call if needed. Otherwise return to pick up your pet between 4:00 and 4:30 PM. I got there on time only to be called out first (by my pet's name). I say "That's me" and start to think that maybe I just won the jackpot and I'm first in this room FULL of people in no line. Just packed in randomly. The lady responds "We didn't do yours". At this point I'm thinking, "why not?", and "what do you want me to say". The whole room is looking at me. This is not a private conversation with an explanation. It's shouting across the office. Next they start calling out pet names like at an auction. I'm like WTF, can I get mine back and leave? Nope. I'm lumped in with the 100ish people that actually got what they came for. TLDR; I wasted three hours in the AM and 1.5 in the afternoon on this place for no reason. They didn't do the job. I went to the Buckner location before they moved and it always too FOREVER but they always did my surgeries right and took care of my animals, I've also gone to the Crandall location with I preferred the most even if they only have one lady working at all times. I visited the Dallas location due to an infection my dog had a couple of days after the spay surgery. I was appalled at the conditions. There was no exam room, just an open room with towels on the floor with dogs laying unconscious on the towels with tubes in their mouths. Some of the dogs had completed surgeries, some were in the process. It was a gross, unsanitary, humiliating assembly line. None of the employees were wearing masks and unwashed crates were stacked against one wall with barking dogs awaiting their turn. On the back wall were roughly 15-20 full garbage bags stacked up. The bathroom was on one side of this room with the door open to the six or seven surgeries happening on the floor. Unbelievable. It broke my heart that I could see where I sent my pet. 1 star doesn't represent the disgust I experienced. The day after my visit for the infection, my dog's incision opened up and this time she went to a reputable vet. read more

Yes it is an assembly line of pets but that is how they must do it to be efficient and timely. I took both dogs and one cat here for spays and neuter. Yes there is a long line out the door even if you reserve a slot online. Yes there are separate fees for pain medication/ waste fee's which I fully understand paying. It is nothing compared to crazy amount I've paid in vet bills at other locations.($800+ for spay) I respect and appreciate the entire staff's hard work. I'm giving them 4 stars, because they do provide a valuable service to the community, and I don't want to put a huge dent in their rating. After all, they accomplished everything I asked them to do. I'm not giving them 5 however, and what follows explains why: I own 2 dogs, a female blue tick mix, and her pup, a catahoula/blue tick mix who was born a year ago. I've taken 4 trips up there since December, the first two for shots, the next two for spay/neuter. The staff are a sweet bunch. Nothing negative to say about them. In fact, the lady who checked me in yesterday remembered my boy from when he was there for shots, his name and everything. That impressed me. But this place is about as organized as a monkey poo fight at a zoo. First of all, update the paperwork. It says additional pain medication is optional. But both times I took my dogs it was required. Apparently this is a recommendation from the vets they use. That's fine, but put it in the paperwork so people don't get blindsided when they show up. Second, get a better check in system. For spay/neuter, they make you form a line outside the clinic, and if you've ever been to the hood that is Pleasant Grove, you don't wanna be standing outside defenseless. For vacs, they have a 3 day 4 hour window, first come first served. Pre-schedule those, like you do the surgeries. I had to sit out in my car for 2 hours waiting for my turn, and again....this is NOT an area where you wanna be hanging out in the parking lot unless you're trying to get robbed. Third: Fix the website. I don't have a problem with scheduling online, BUT allow me to save my info so I don't have to punch it in EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Thank God Google remembers stuff. That was my saving grace. Fourth: I get that folks want to get feral cats fixed. That's great. I was an animal control officer in my younger life, I appreciate that service. But don't mix them in with the "pets". Maybe designate a day and post it on your website? I want to say a couple of good things: they're great about communication, they do call/text, whether there's an issue, or to let you know your pet is ready for pickup. They DO care about your pets. I saw some reviews where people complained that their pets caught this or that. I ain't buying it. They do the best they can with where they're located. Last thought: I get that you're trying to serve the underprivileged/unwashed...but for God's sake, find a location where people don't have to worry about being shot. Maybe Lake June/Masters? They told me that my dog was to old and that they would not operate. They also told me that they would not place the micro chip. I asked about my deposit and they said that it was just to hold my place in line and that I would not get it back . The clerk at the counter had to get up from her chair and go ask someone in the back of the building questions 3 times because she had no idea of anything. It may be free but will it be worth it? I had my 4 moth old cat neutered at a mobile location early July. Online reservations were easy enough, left a deposit showed up on time waited with the other pet parents in the hot sun. I was pleasantly surprised to learn the cost was $0 as I was expecting to pay around $160. Surgery was fine, picked up on time... kitty healed well. By the grace of God, no problems. That's where the good review ends... What I didn't know is that during kittys stay in the mobile clinic he had picked up fleas. Post-surgery instructions say you should wait 10 before bathing. So for 10 whole days flea season were festering in my home and on my kitty. Both of my kitties were on seresto collars at the time of the surgery and fleas were never a problem prior to. After multiple topicals, shampoos, powders, sprays, pest control treatments, the only thing left is to fumigate which is a big bill that I don't want to take on. I'd figure to call the clinic and inform them of the problem and to make a formal complaint as the cost we're growing out of control. After a few days I received a call back from the office manager Sabrina who said they could've picked them up anywhere and seresto is not an effective flea treatment. I explained to her that due to COVID-19 both hubs and I have been working from home and we RARELY go anywhere. I told her that I wanted to file a formal complaint and she said it was a nonprofit service and they don't take formal complaints. I told her that they really needed to add in the clause warning pet owners about pets contracting fleas in the contract. She told me she would speak with he manager about it. I asked her to send me a follow email confirming our conversation and her next steps and she said yes ok and hung up on me. Now here it is early September my cats are still covered in fleas. Hubs and I are being bitten and my home is infested. Fumigation is the last necessary step. I'm just curious as to how many other people/pets have suffered at the hands of their negligence. Sure fleas can happen to anybody but what can they do to reduce the likelihood of an animal contracting fleas while in their care? Sure they're providing a free service but for me and many others it costs a lot more than it was worth. read more

Horrible experience. The clinic was dirty and didn't smell pleasant. Staff were rude and expected you to know the vaccine process even if you hadn't been there before. There were no apparent signs or instructions. I waited over an hour and still wasn't able to get my dog vaccinated. Never saw a vet at the facility. Overall, the staff didn't seem to care about your time, you, or your pet. They had an attitude that their time was far more valuable than yours and you should be grateful to be in their presence. i called to make an appointment for my cat to get spayed and i was told i needed to make a $40 deposit to SAVE MY SPOT as in the $40 secures an appointment and i had a voucher from the city of irving and they said my $40 will be refunded after the appointment. the day i arrived they took my cat in and after a 1-2 hour wait they took her in to get spayed but later that day they texted me saying she couldn't get spayed. when i got there to pick her up i asked what was wrong and they just told me she was "unhealthy", when i asked what was wrong they told me that she had eye discharge which is just eye boogers, they told me to take her to the vet and that once she was clear i could bring her back. i asked if the $40 would be refunded because they didn't even spay her and they told me that they couldn't because the $40 were used to take test for her even though on the phone they said the $40 were to secure my appointment...i went to the vet and i got her checked and they told me that she was perfectly fine, that nothing was wrong so i don't understand why she couldn't get spayed that day. im not sure how they had the animals in the back or how close the animals were to each other but i know that my cat now has worms and she did not have worms prior to me taking her to spay neuter network. if i could give this place negative starts i would because not only did they waste my time and my money they also gave my cat worms!!!! -100stars read more

DUCK TAPE THE CONES. The cones they send you home with are a hard plastic with very sharp edges. Our dog not only scratched everything he ran into and cut my husband's hand, he also managed to reach his wound with the cone on and cut himself. We had to take him to our vet the next day because we saw bleeding and swelling. Turns out he has a scrotal hematoma (which is fairly common following neuter surgery) and has to be in antibiotics. Whether or not my dog caused this from hurting himself with the cone or it was just a complication in general is unclear but the surgery seems to have been done well. Our second dog is doing perfectly fine. Simple solution for the cone is to tape around the edges. I did a sloppy job of it as seen in the picture but it worked out for us. Also it would have been helpful to know, when you arrive to this clinic there is an extremely long line that extends down the sidewalk quite a ways. It's like going to the DMV or lining up at a popular store on Black Friday. Check in is 7:30AM for ALL animals getting spay/neuter surgery and there are a lot of them! So do not be late! I was about 20 minutes late and ended up having to stand outside with my dogs in tow for an hour and a half. Arriving early is probably best. Otherwise, the process was pretty smooth and the price was obviously great! read more

However, when I pulled up, the transportation truck was wide open with my cat sitting in its kennel with no one around. I looked around in the parking lot, looked inside of the truck, and waited. I ended up grabbing my cat and putting him in my car and headed inside 1) to see who was supposed to be with my cat 2) to make sure I didn't owe any fees for a cancelled surgery and pay bill. The driver stated he was just inside for a minute, but I was outside longer than that and regardless the fact I could pick up my car and put him in the car without anyone knowing was extremely upsetting. Signed up assuming my cat would be watched and in good care- seems like they were indifferent to him getting home to the right place. The staff are great. They're quick to warn you of something, and good at explaining things. And the prices can't be beat. I took my two 'new' strays here, as I didn't have the $300 a piece to get them shots. It was only about half that for two cats' vaccinations, plus microchips. Really happy they exist. (When I say 'new' strays- they're a couple strays that showed up as kittens, and had been banging on my door for a couple years. I'm really grateful that there are cost-sensitive options for pet spay/neutering because it's a requirement in Dallas county to have your pets fixed (especially cats and outdoor animals). I definitely experienced concern with dropping my sweet baby boy kitten off at a van in the Home Depot parking lot in Oak Cliff, but kept telling myself that a service like this wouldn't stick around if people experienced common issues with a common procedure. We arrived a little before 8:30 am (scheduled time to drop off pets) at the van and there were only a few other cars pulling up too - this is a completely different experience than others have noted where they waited in a line for an hour. The person taking care of the van and loading the animals was friendly (you could tell, however, that she's dealt with some bozos that just want to show up and give their animal away for the day without completing the right paperwork before arriving as she was also direct with her instructions) and knowledgeable about the process. I asked a few basic questions regarding pain meds and pick-up procedure and she confirmed my name was available and that was that until that evening. Pickup was FAST - there were fewer cars waiting at that point and we picked our little guy up and made our way home back up in Dallas. Our kitten recovered QUICKLY - he had a day of being loopy, and a couple days of quarantine in a kitty tent so his sister could still interact with him and he had more space than in a kennel, but he was still forced to take it easy and not have options to jump on things or hurt himself. Well within 7 days he was healed and back to normal and we didn't experience any signs of infection. I would recommend this service for those that are trying to be budget-conscious and are willing to have faith in the process and people caring for other people's animals as they wouldn't last long if many people lost their fur babies regularly. Also, remember that these people, our fellow humans, are giving up their time to do this and sometimes dealing with the general public requires a stern tone in order to maintain peace and order when facing a long line of other people. I took my one year old cat to get neutered on 3/12/2020 at the Buckner location. I had no issues with the service but afterwards. George got really sick with an URI not even a week later. I took him to our vet and he was given medicine for his URI. I also have two older healthy cats at home. Because of the URI George contracted my two other healthy cats got sick. My cats are not around anyother cats and they were all healthy up until I got George neutered here. To be honest the low cost of the neuter isn't worth it. I've spent over $400 in vet bills and still have more to come as my babies are still sick. Although some people haven't had any issues here, I do not recommend taking your pet here. We took our male cat to be neutered and we are very very happy with our experience and outcome. This is a slick production line with everyone arriving at the same time to drop off their pets, but it was very well organised and the staff were very kind and efficient and made us feel that our pet was in good hands. Our kitty was back to his old self by the following morning and we have had no complications. When I arrived she was laying on the cold floor not moving still with the same medical concerns. I was told that if this didnt change within 3 hours to take her to the emergency vet. I was supposed to get a call for my dog to get their stitches out and I never received it. I've emailed and called many times with no response back. As soon as I come I see the staff has provided a small canopy for the customers but one of the employees ( crystal ), who had her nose out of her mask while enforcing COVID rules, was rude telling the elderly to move out of the shade and into the sun even though someone from their family was holding their spot. She was very rude and disrespectful to people of color. There are no fans outside and she expects us to move into the sun to wait in line for hours when some patients could have been in and out. I waited an hour to outside to be told I could just walk in and get them out right away. When people of color speak up we are given a very pointed attitude and we are talked to as if we were babies and can't understand them. Please hire people of color and people who speak both English and Spanish it is very uncomfortable when a mostly white environment acts this way towards people of color. There are no chairs for anyone to wait in the shade. This establishment is very good with their work but not customer service. I was so nervous and scared about the procedure but the staff were so kind and reassuring. They texted me as soon as my puppy was out of surgery and let me know she was ok. My husband and I had scheduled our five month old kittens neuter appointment and were told to be there by 7:30 and estimated pick up time was around 3 o'clock. We received a call at 2:30 saying our cat wouldn't be neutered today because they ran out of time and we could either pick him up and reschedule for another day or let him stay overnight free of charge and they would do the surgery the following day. I didn't understand why they overbooked themselves if they are not able to complete certain amount of pets daily, my husband had asked for the day off to get this done that day and it was very irritating that he wasn't able to get his surgery. We decided it was best to leave him overnight to assure that he would get his surgery done the following day. Whenever I went to pick him upThe following day I overheard the veterinarian mention to the front office ladies that these were the animals that weren't able to get spayed or neutered that day and to call and basically tell them the same thing they told us, so this was not a one time incident, this is a reoccurring situation.And to top it off when I got my kitten back they had placed a piece of newspaper on top of his cat bed and toy that I had taken for him and it was all drenched in urine and what was so sad is that the instructions for postop is that they cannot be taken out of the The carrier until the following morning because of the medication so to me it was just heart wrenching that they expected me to leave him in there in those conditions. I chose to place him in an isolated room instead of leaving him in the carrier which smelled very strong of urine and medication.Overall the neuter was reasonably priced but the experience was just not pleasant at all. Wow so unorganized I had hoped due to the pandemic they would find a way to take care of pets without such hassle. Arriving at 11am for shots (no appointment needed) there was a line of about 7 people with their pets out in the sun. The temps were pretty harsh I felt so bad for some of these pets for even standing on the hot concrete and not having any water. You would expect to wait awhile for 7 people ahead of you but not 3.5 hours. At the front of the line was a tent with a table which I assumed was for signing in all paperwork when it was your turn. However people who arrived after us were getting seen before us because no one told us paper work needed to be filled out AND turned in inside upon arrival. Why would they not inform us of that and have many of us stand outside with pets in hot weather for hours? They did have one sign which stated if you were not standing on the left side of the establishment you would not be provided services. How does this help pet owners? How about make that sign useful and let them know how the check in process works to make this go smoother? As for the service the vets were very kind and attentive. They just need a new system for checking in possibly having people wait in their vehicles because even the vets were complaining that the animals were having high temperatures because of wait times in sun and were therefore not able to see them. If it was not for that disastrous wait time in the sun and lack of communication my rating would probably have been a five star. read more

I got called around 3:12 ?and was told " we had a little scare" your cat rejected the anesthesia and was needed to be given CPR. FIRST OF ALL WHY WASNT I CALLED WHEN THIS HAPPEN OR AHEAD OF TIME. If you can't help an animal when something goes wrong you should not wait to see "if he can get better on his own" . APPARENTLY his lung collapsed and was never operated on. Vitals are up , heart is racing and all I needed to do keep him warm to get his temperature up. I had to come to the location and take him to the emergency room because it's out of their hands now. Apparently it was my fault that perhaps my cat was sick and I just didn't know. However they are sure the cat will have just a LONG recovery. Once I finally got to see my cat I knew my cat was brain dead and wouldn't stop shivering. I had to take him to a nearby clinic to find out it wasn't shivering it wouldn't stop having seizures. I decided to put him down. Later on I was informed by an employee and a former employee that they lack skills and that this has happened before. They are careless and she believes they put more chemicals unsupervised that my cats body couldnt handle it. If I can give them 0 stars I would. I would hate for another family to go through what my family is going through. My cat was loving , energetic and we are heart broken. Do not bring your animals here save yourself the money and time.
