Beware: Follow-up review after received terrible customer service and no quality control post engine work on R1200GS. Post clutch repair and new engine seals (2), I had to repair the 4 electrical items Troy/Gary @Speakeasy Moto caused but refused to rework. Additionally, the gasoline tank overflow vent hose was not reconnected. Result was after refueling, the gasoline dripped all over the top of the hot engine. A serious safety concern. Careless and dangerous! I had to removed the tank to reattach the fuel vent line. Everyone has a bad day but they refused to own up to it and rework the items listed on the paid invoice. Disappointed that a highly regarded shop would treat a customer so poorly. read more

Too many times I have taken my bikes to other shops only to turn around and bring them back to the shop with something that wasn't done right. They put some nice auxiliary lights on my ninja 1000. Now I can see the road better than I can see it while driving my car. I commute to Petaluma at 0300. They put lhs upright handlebars on my gsxr and I basically have a brand new bike. Can't wait to go to work every morning just to ride it. I used to prefer my ninja over my gsxr now it's reversed! I seriously think that the sport bike with upright handlebars is the ideal bike, I would literally buy a brand new sport bike and have them put upright handlebars before even riding it. Chill guys that can do exactly what I needed. I am the kind of motorcycle rider that never checks the air pressure or chain tension. I just ride (I know I know). I am also the kind of rider that does not really want to lube and adjust my chain every 500 miles. These guys take care of that for me at a decent rate. I was in and out in less than 30 min and was very grateful for it. They said to stop in every 300 miles and see if the chain needs anything and if not I would be on my way until the 500 marks. I am a daily six day rider but my commutes are very short. 6 miles one way and about 20 the other so it does take time to get there. Cons: wait room is tiny. One old plastic interrogation chair and nowhere to put your helmet. I just want to give a good shout out to speakeasy Moto. Took my motorcycle to a motorcycle shop in Davis California and they had my bike for three months and could not fix it. I paid over $500 for absolutely nothing. Took my bike to speakeasy Moto. Gary took a hold of it and within one week, my Hayabusa was completely fixed. I've been having electrical issues since I've added custom lights to my M50. I've had three different people work on it and brought it to two other shops- one of whom was too scared to work on my bike... Never got it re-wired properly. I live in Tahoe but have family in Vacaville. When I found Moto Tec on Yelp, I decided to give them a try since they had great reviews. I had spoken with Troy over the phone in depth about the electrical issues, clutch problems and welding needs. He kept me updated the whole time my bike was at the shop. I actually needed it back for a week-long ride I had coming up and he had it all done in time. A few things I noticed that stood out over the rest of the shops: He's super confident in himself -as he should be- it shows in his work. He's really knowledgable in what he does. Also, when dealing with him over the phone, he spoke to me like a normal person. This may not seem like a big thing but most of the shops I've gone in tend to speak to me like a clueless child because I have make up on, my nails done and high heels on- or primarily just because I'm a girl. Mind you, I change the oil on my bike, have replaced all the cosmetic parts myself and pretty much work on my bike for all non-major issues. (Women may only relate to this but felt it was a nice difference that need to be noted) Though I live in Tahoe, the few hours ride is worth bringing my bike to Moto Tec. Shop use to be good and customer service was good. Now they are a cop out and have raised there prices. I used to there frequently for there tire service which use to be $25 a tire and now it has doubled to $40 a tire. Not to mention the counter guy is rude. Call them and get it there. 100% customer service 100% fair pricing. 100% quality. Took my bike there I had just bought and it had sit for a while. Literally told Gary to treat it as if it was his and he wanted to be able and jump on and ride. They checked everything. Fixed wiring, cleaned and got my carb set up perfectly, check all the safety list. They replaced levers, corrected my chain tension, took out useless wiring, swapped grips etc etc. They did all this for under 500$. They take pride in their work and their names. I thought I did this a long time ago but apparently not after looking them up to send to a friend. I wanted some fork work done on my Indian and new tires. The Scout was newer release bike and I really didn't want to go to Dublin or Auburn so I looked around close to home. Called the shop and explained what I was requesting and was told sure we can do that. I had a vision of a certain commercial but went for it. It wasn't a standard part swap. There was a little machine work required and they called the fork manufacturer to make sure they were doing it right. One of the best gut feeling choices I've made. Finding a good motorcycle shop is one of the most difficult tasks. And finding one with great pricing is even more difficult. I am so happy I found this place. I brought my bike to Moto-Tec to get the valves checked and adjusted, which is a major job to do. I ended up needing adjustments as well as some other significant work done. They weren't the absolute best with communicating the issues with my bike, but I wouldn't take away from a 5 star rating because their quality of work is top notch. Great duo in Moto Tec!! I needed to have the seat shaved for my bike (2006 ninja 250) as my inseam is short and was not comfortable without planting 2 feet on the ground, I know I only need one but I live on a hill and I need both feet on the ground. These guys did the work and didn't charge a ridiculous amount for the work. My buddy also uses Troy for any work done on his BMW 1100r. Excellent place and excellent people. Gary at the counter seemed like a cool guy. He answered all my questions in a straight forward matter of fact way without pressuring me into any up sells. Ive been there twice. The second time I got new tires and was very happy with the service, flexible scheduling, quality of the tires, and that they did the work while I waited. The price was a little high, but they are still the best option for foreign bikes in Vacaville. The only real negative is that my bike made a strange sound for a couple days before I realized the mechanic didn't put a but back on to a bolt that was holding a clamp tight on my exhaust pipe. I noticed when I was at home and just happened to have a nut that fit in my garage, so I fixed it myself. Not a big deal. But it does knock this place down to a four. I will keep going back and upgrade them later maybe...? read more

After getting ripped off by another so-called mechanic on the rebuild of my 73 CB750 motor, Moto Heads took over the job and built me a strong motor without gouging me on the price.
