First time customer at Bike Closet. After searching online high and low, BC was the only retailer that had the exact Sidi MTB shoes I wanted to try out, in my size, and at a great sale price. Size was not available or shoes were completely sold out at all the big sites I usually buy from. The idea of text-only customer service (no phone or email support) was somewhat of a concern, but I did get prompt responses to my questions. (I think this helps keep BC's prices so competitive.) Updating my post to a 3 from a previous 1. Day 12, I recieved a new shipping# and day 13, I recieved my package. Although the situation was resolved and I finally recieved my product, im giving a 3 for the price/deal and would of been fast shipping if everything went smoothly. I bought 3 Continental 4000 tires from Bike Closet last August, they felt dry rotted when they arrived but I took a chance and put them on. They got sporadic use over the winter but I noticed late winter that something on them was hitting my forks. The reflective tape was coming off. Had to remove them with very little miles on them. Contacted Bike Closet and got lousy responses. Same old crap like "We've never had this problem", You should have said something in August". I offered to send them back so they could see for themselves but they would not agree to it. They sold me old tires, or ones that were defective. Bought the Neo Tacx 2 from Bike Closet because their price was 10% off the retail. Should have forgone the discount. Their service basically ended after the package was shipped. When I first rode the trainer there was a clanking sound which Tacx noted sometimes happens during rough shipment(?). This is the first time that I heard about this. Tacx wrote that they can send a tool or I can contact the dealer. I choose the latter. I texted Bike Closet and after a couple days of silence I followed up, to which the person wrote, "let me reach out to Tacx ". There was no response from Bike Closet. Reference photo. And now I have to work with Tacx. Bottom Line is Bike Closet, which seems like it is a warehouse, is only concerned about the sale. I was in the market for a puncture protection tire, and decided for continental gator hardshell. I found a great price at Bike Closet and due to good reviews, I decided to purchase a tire and some tubes from them. Everything came to South Florida within 1 week. All legit original items. Installed and works. I have placed a second order for another tire and few more small items (i like to have spares). The only awkward thing is that there web page seems to be running out of inventory, and for example i cannot find there gloves size "M" nor other things I need. I assume that due to the pandemic inventories are not being replenish at the required speed. Their customer service (text message) takes awhile and it can be more helpful. My previous review was a bad review because I hadn't received the helmet I had ordered, my card had been charged, and I hadn't heard anything from Bike Closet in response to 3 inquiries after 15 days since the order. However, after I posted that review, a representative from Bike Closet reached out to me, apologized, and stated that they agreed that they had failed on their end to provide excellent service. The rep stated that they wanted to re-send me the helmet and also issue a full refund as a way of customer service recovery. The helmet arrived 2 days later and I'm very happy with it. Bike Closet's service recovery response to my negative experience was above and beyond. Everyone makes mistakes and Bike Closet worked very hard to remedy the situation and make it right. I wanted to order tubes from Bike Closet, and sent a text message to confirm that the valve stems on the tubes I was considering had fully threaded stems (and a lock ring). I sent the same text message 4 times over 2 days (several hours between messages) before I finally got a meaningless response: "i think they are just standard". I asked "What is standard?", and that they confirm if they are threaded. They said that they would have to ask the warehouse. I said "Okay, let me know what they say." Once again, no response, so I sent another follow-up. It took 2 more days for them to respond, at which point they told me that they were now out of the tubes I wanted to buy. It was 4 days of the worst customer service I have ever seen. They need to get their act together!!! UPDATE: 30 minutes after I told them they had terrible customer service, I received another text message (I guess I got their attention). This is what they said: "our custom service is great. if they were in stock you shoulud have added the to the cart and checked out. communication is never instand. however, we did have a shipment just arrive. So if you want to be nice to us we can point you in the right direction when they are back up later today..." Was I not nice to them before??? Was it not nice of me to tell them that their customer service was "pretty poor"??? I guess the truth hurts. I wished them the best in running a business with terrible custom service that only sells to people that are "nice to them". BTW... as soon as they told me they were out of stock on the tubes, I decided to order from Performance Bike. I called their customer service line to confirm that the valve stems were threaded on their tubes, and the rep put me on hold for 2 minutes while he reached out to the warehouse and confirmed that they were threaded. I ended up buying over 20 tubes, and the cost difference was 20 cents per tube!!! Never going to deal with Bike Closet again. Low prices are great, but not when you have to deal with such arrogant people. UPDATE #2: Vendor reached out to me again to say that it wasn't their fault that they ran out of stock on the item, as I should have just ordered it right away. I reminded them that I did not order it right away because I had a question that they hadn't answered... and to this day they still haven't answered!!! They did point out that they are dealing with staff shortages due to the wildfires in CA, and I feel bad about that, but then they should have just said something like "We apologize that we are unable to answer your question at this time due to....". Then to tell me I can order from them now if I am nice to them?!?!? No apology for that arrogant comment, and still no answer to my question! (FYI... So, I walked in the door with my dad and though I could see them looking at us through the window, when we walked in, no one greeted us.. No smile, no head nod, no "Hey, how are you?" Nada. Strike one. Then, finally this guy came to help us. He looked to be in his early to mid 20's and he asked what we were looking for. I told him I needed a hybrid for school and one that would be good for climbing hills. He seemed friendly enough, also he was pretty hot, if it wasn't for his hotness, I probably would rate this place a negative lol. He picked a few bikes for me to try and they weren't really comfortable. I tried one that was comfortable but the colors it came in were so horrendous that I couldn't possibly buy one. They seem to have more men's than women's bikes and the selection is pretty slim. Also, I asked this dude if the bike came with fenders and he said no and he said that fenders were "more for decoration but they aren't functional." I said I heard they were good for rain he said, "Oh yeah, but someone who's riding in the rain won't care if their bike is wet." I guess he wasn't thinking of possibly being splashed by puddles from like an early morning shower. Also, he said that fenders on a bike were bad for riding hills. I don't know why he said that when I asked a lady from another shop who looked like she'd been riding since before he was born, she said she didn't know what he was talking about and that it wouldn't be a problem. Basically this guy was saying all these technical terms about the bike specs, but I had the feeling he didn't quite know what he was talking about. I called these guys 4 times in one day trying to figure out what I wanted. They answered the phone right away every time and never got annoyed - sounds basic but that's unheard of these days. No recordings, no holding, extremely friendly and helpful and my orders shipped same day! And the pricing is best I've found for what I needed. Unless something bad happens between now and when my products arrive this will be my first stop every time I need bike stuff....! Did a group ride for the first time with these guys this past Sunday. A good mix of characters but all were very friendly. Some were hammers but for the most part the group stayed together on this no-drop ride. After the rest stop at Steady Eddy's coffee shop the hammers took off for some hill work and the rest looped back to the shop. I liked that everyone was friendly and helpful. The owner was really nice, as was the mechanic I rode with a little bit. (Forgot his name though, he had a Brian Wilson/SF Giants type beard!) He was very knowledgeable and down to earth. The shop looked kind of small but they had a large inventory of bikes and accessories in the space they had. But from my experience so far, the customer service and friendliness is what is going to keep me coming back!! read more

I WOULD GIVE THEM 10 STARS IF I COULD! I was actually just riding by and my tire was dragging (I have a Specialized bike). Rob said he would take a look and first pointed out my front tire was loose. Then as i was riding Alex said "you need some air in the back". So they put air in my tire. Then Rob put it on the rack to make sure everything was alright. While I was there I asked him about a tandem bike for me and my son (who has autism and is 12). He proceeded to tell me about all these different bikes and different places I could go. He told me about riding groups etc. I was amazed. So after about 30 minutes of assistance I pulled out my wallet to pay. I asked how much do I owe? He said nothing! NOTHING!
