I like coming to the Speakeasy. The bartenders are friendly. The food is awesome, thanks to the cook. The wings were fried to juicy perfection. You can also download the jukebox app and play your own tunes. It was a tad too cold to enjoy the outside bar, so enjoyed the upstairs. Great place!

A favorite go to spot. Excellent sandwiches, burgers, onion rings and wings. Also, they have a tempura friend sushi that is excellent. During the cold months they have homemade soup. Good food, very clean and comfortable. Friendly people. A great local hangout with a solid beer selection and a growing list of cocktails and bourbon.

I came here on a Saturday night. I only saw one bar tender who was great about checking on us and refilling our drinks and keeping up with what everyone was drinking. The bacon cheese fries weren't very good. The cheese was not melted very well and the fries didn't taste freshly cooked. Other than that we enjoyed our time here.

I like the Speakeasy Tavern alot. Its sort of a hidden gem when it comes to good food. I have tried several of their items and they have always been served hot and fast. Bartender and chef are very friendly and they are helpful when we had our nfl fantasy draft. They have a nice upstairs area that was perfect for us guys to do our draft and have some privacy.

I was able to come here and do my fantasy draft with my friends. Downstairs, they have a wide seating area and in the back the same. They also feature an upstairs and I'm my opinion that's the best part of the bar. I was very impressed by the bourbon selection, and the prices were fair. The bartender was very friendly as well. The food was banging!!!!

Did not know they serve food there, but stopped by to have a few drinks. Cool place, great environment to chill with friends. They have another bar in the patio area outside. Service was good.

We stopped in after running errands - first time visiting this place - over all 4 stars... We got the sesame chicken wings to start with - wow, the sauce was delicious the wings were crispy like chicken wings should be! The Greek salad I ordered with grilled chicken and the house balsamic was also delicious. Hubs got the Reuben and hot chips, the hot chips were great, crisp and not a single one was soggy! The Reuben was filled with everything a Reuben should have! There was only one waitress and she was running a full house, she did great, was prompt and ensured we had what we needed. If you're in the mood for some good tavern food - check out the Speakeasy

It was quiet when we walked in but after an hour people started coming in. The bar tender was so nice, friendly, and gave great recommendations. The food was SO good! Everything from the fried pickles, homemade ranch, wings (you didn't even have to ask for them to be cooked crispy!), Reuben, and French dip were cooked perfectly. We come to Greensboro for concerts at the complex often and will make this a for sure stop.

    Reuben with fries. Very meh.

Speakeasy Tavern is a long-standing establishment withing the long strip of shops flanking Battleground avenue before it splits off into Lawndale. It's a bit of a dive, and the name should not indicate to anyone that it is meant to be styled after some kind of old-timey speakeasy. It's very much a bar food and beer kind of place, and not where you would go for finely crafted cocktails. After finding the wait times for dinner to long at some nearby restaurants, our group settled on grabbing a more readily available bite here. Service was a bit lacking from the start, but for the most part it was tolerable. I ordered a reuben with fries, and around the table there were orders for fish tacos, chicken wraps and other similar bar fare. My reuben arrived, and while it was fine, it certainly isn't something I would get again. The meat was a bit chewy, the fat on it wasnt rendered very well. It made for a strange texture. I like that the fries are steak fries, so that was a plus. My friend that got the buffalo chicken wrap with pasta salad did not have good things to say about either part of it. The tuna tacos actually had a nice amount of seared tuna in them, so that person was happier. Overall, while things weren't bad necessarily, there also wasn't anything that would draw me back in here other than convenience.

I love this place! It's has such a welcoming atmosphere. The bartenders are always so nice and make great reasonably priced cocktails! My favorite thing about this place are those wings!! They are delicious! They have some of the best bar food I've had in a long time! Oh and they have a nice covered patio out back for the smokers!

I came here for a little bit of a bachelor party. Not the real deal but certainly a little bit of fun the night before. It was not too busy when we got there but it certainly picked up. I had a few PBRs and a burger, which was great. The service was great. We had a number of entrees, beers, jaegers, whiskeys, etc. and then... yeah we went home. A great time all around.

My 17 year old daughter and I stopped here for lunch back In August 2022. We are from out of town and we were looking for a place to eat that wasn't a chain and this place did not disappoint. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon as soon as it opened. The woman (I forgot her name) was behind the bar and waiting tables was so patient and kind with us. There was one other employee at work that day and he was the chef. He definitely made a mean Buffalo, ranch fried chicken sandwich. Both our food was great no complaints at all. The atmosphere was nice and chill at the time of the day we came in. If we're ever in North Carolina or the immediate area again we will definitely come back.

    French dip sandwich is amazing!!!

Awesome beer selection and huge patio! The food is great and the bartenders always friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to grab drinks with friends and play some board games or listen to live music. Tons of TVs so there is no missing out on game day!

The space is cozy with a great atmosphere, and they have a nice selection of drinks at the bar, beer, wine, cocktails and THC Drinks. The only downside is that it can get crowded pretty quickly and it is a walk no matter where you park. So be prepared if you're attending a popular event. This past weekend, I went for their Bastille Day celebration, and it was fantastic! They had delicious food from Breakfast in Paris, beautiful aerial performances, local art including caricatures, and live jazz music that made the whole evening feel festive and unique. It was a well-rounded event with something for everyone. You can tell this place is locally-owned and locals enjoy it. If you're looking for a local spot that hosts creative community events in addition to having a great bar, the Continental Club is definitely worth checking out. Housed in part of an old mill, it makes for an incredibly unique space. The club is broken up into two spaces, a gallery and the bar. The bar is incredibly eclectic, with so much fun and interesting decor to look at. The bar also has a full bar, though the drink prices are on the higher side. The bar tender was very friendly and quick at getting drinks made. They also have a full size piano for music, and I'm told other performers will also bring their own instruments for events to have live music. The parking lot is a bit tight, and shared spots with the Back Table. So some may need to find street parking depending on the size of the event. They don't serve food and my only real complaint is about the lighting. They have a lot of red and blue lights, which may be apparent based on the photos, but when it comes to looking at art, it may be hard to see because of the distortion from the lighting.

Our bartender, LT, was so much fun. Every drink was spot on. An espresso martini for my wife and a bold old fashioned for me. On top of that, LT clearly knows his stuff when it comes to both cocktails and bourbon knowledge. I added a 1oz neat pour of 12yr Weller. Let's just say this place is a Weller lover's dream. The owner is a huge Weller fan and keeps the lounge stocked with pretty much every bottle imaginable. Something that's nearly impossible to find in Greensboro. And then there's the showstopper: a Weller Millennium bottle sitting on display. At $600 for a 1oz pour, it's pure eye candy for me. I'll just admire it from one of the comfy couches or large chairs and keep my wallet happy. The dip is always so delicious - it's one of my favorite appetizers ever. The pita is really good too. I think they recently started adding cheese to it too which is good but not really necessary in my opinion. At first, they brought us pita that was really burnt but our waiter told us she requested a fresh batch without us even saying anything which I think is great service. I also tried their garlic parm boneless wings & they were so good. I loved how seasoned & salty they were, although they might be too salty for some people. I really loved it though! Their cocktail menu is also really interesting & creative. It's mostly whiskey of course but they do have other spirits. I tried the peanut butter & jelly Old fashioned and it was surprisingly delicious. It really did taste like a PB&J so I highly recommend. The inside is small but there's a nice outdoor seating area too. This really is one of my favorite places to get food in the area BUT the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because anytime I've been there remotely close to closing, they definitely let you know & make you feel rushed. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)

The cocktails are consistently excellent. You can tell the bartender really cares about what they're making and you can ask for modification and they will give them to you. Everything is balanced, creative, and thoughtfully put together. Whether you order something from the menu or ask for a classic, it's always spot on. The prices are great for the quality, usually $15-$20 for a cocktail, which feels completely fair for craft drinks like these. One of my favorite details is the playlist. It's always so good -- a mix of current hits and those deep cuts you forgot you loved, and it somehow always fits the vibe perfectly. It is in downtown Greensboro, so be prepared for parking as it is not nearby. Great drinks, great music, candles glowing, and it's the kind of place that makes you want to stay for just one more round. I'll visit again soon.
