Such a good place! Very nice atmosphere and vibe- dark lighting and nicely dressed wait staff. Staff is also very professional and nice! Their food is SO good. Highly recommend the seafood and burger. Very small menu but everything is good. They have a very large cocktail menu with a drink anyone is bound to like. Definitely would recommend making a reservation as there is almost always a wait- especially on the weekends. I often forget about this place. Great place for a date night, parents in town, entertaining customers, etc. great place for "fine dining".

Wow I can't believe I've lived in Greensboro this whole time and I've never been here! This is the perfect place to go for a birthday, date, or just a good meal or cocktail. The inside is cozy and on the smaller side but so cute. We started with the buratta appetizer which came with focaccia and pesto which was all amazing. The pesto had a great garlic flavor and the bread was lightly toasted. For an entree, I had the Moroccan couscous with crispy chickpeas and even though the picture might look a little weird, I can assure you it was delicious. The chickpeas were really crispy as promised and the flavor was delicious. It was well seasoned and the sauces were so good. The green one was a mint parsley I think and the orange was my favorite - red pepper tahini. My only complaint would be that I want more of the sauce because it was so good. I really enjoyed & I appreciated that they had this vegan option. They have tons of wine & the cocktail menu is also great. The waiter was super friendly and quick. I ordered a cocktail with vodka instead of tequila which wasn't a problem at all. I tried a few of the cocktails and they were all really good and perfectly described on the menu. I really enjoyed everything here and can't wait to go back!

If 1618 West is the elegant older sibling, 1618 Midtown is the cooler, more playful little brother. Still polished, but with a fun, laid-back twist. Think modern, hip, and cozy all at once, with a lively atmosphere and a bar that practically invites you to settle in and stay awhile. We grabbed two seats at the bar and kicked things off with some excellent cocktails. Michael, our seasoned bartender, knew exactly what he was doing when making our drinks. Props to him! A smoked old fashioned for me (perfectly balanced with just the right depth), and for my wife, a mezcal cocktail called Thrifted Flannel that was smoky, bright, and creative. For apps, we shared the fried chicken in a basket, which was crispy and flavorful, and absolutely hit the spot. Then came the 13-hour roasted pork belly...so tender it practically dissolved on contact. We split the soft shell crab sandwich for the main event, and it was a showstopper. Crab spilling out of the bun in all directions, with pickled shallots and a zesty slaw that brought everything together. The vibe here is what really ties it all together. Upbeat and stylish, but not stuffy. Whether you're out for a fun date night or just catching up with friends over great food and cocktails, 1618 Midtown delivers the kind of experience you'll want to come back for. Big flavors, great energy, and a team that knows what they're doing!

Upset I waited so long to come here. All around the experience was amazing. The restaurant is definitely on the cozier side but it's decor and setup still make it seem very upscale. The menu is pretty small, but there is such a large variety of food. I got the Hanger Steak which came with jollof and broccolini. As a Nigerian in an American restaurant, I had extremely low expectations of the jollof, but it was actually really good and pretty close to traditional jollof. Definitely recommend it as an intro point to some West African cuisine. The broccolini was also really good and had a nice garlic flavor. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender as well. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.

The Food, Service and Ambiance here is always exceptional. We have a date night here weekly!

The place is small but cozy. The menu is limited but the fish tacos are very good. There is a special every day during the week. On Wednesday, myself & a friend shared a 1/2 bottle of moscato. It was sweet and delicious. However, we are not heavy drinkers so we didn't finish it & was allowed to take the rest home in a wine bag. I woukd strongly suggest that you make reservations because the place fills up fast. It also, it does not open until 5 pm.

Midtown is always lovely. We went for the late night menu and some drinks. At first we were a little frustrated because our drinks hadn't come after about 20 minutes but then our server quickly realized they got delivered to another table and the manager came out and said the drinks were on her. This was a super nice gesture and quickly made the night better. You can always rely on the food being good and it's just a nice date night nighttime vibe. Love how late it stays open too for when it's past 9pm but you want good food and drinks.

This place is tiny but mighty! Great bar atmosphere with quick service. It can get pretty loud in there on a busy night. The food is done really well and my order of chicken tenders was juicy and crispy. For the price you get a lot of tenders! The bartender wipped up a delicious dirty GG martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, don't forget those!

Don't sleep on 1618 Midtown y'all! This spot combines a speakeasy vibe with an upscale dining experience that won't break the bank! The atmosphere is intimate and quaint. You immediately feel welcomed by the staff and their service is superb. Everything pictured is from the "snack" menu but it was more like a 3-course meal! Each dish was delectable. I was so full but couldn't stop going in for more! I highly recommend trying the pimento cheese...so creamy and tangy it pairs perfectly with the pickled okra and soft toasted bread. The chili-skirt steak tacos were incredible. Full of vibrant southern flavors and mixed textures. I can't wait to revisit soon!

A really great experience dining at 1618. Perfect setting for a date. The food was well past expectations and I honestly am looking forward to future visits to try the rest of the menu. Drinks/cocktails are also exceptional and offer a variety of original drinks. We shared the Fried Chicken and it came out super hot & crispy. I honestly was expecting bone-in chicken but was tenders (the size was big though). Almost certain the hot sauce it came with was Texas Pete and that's actually perfect. I had the Tagliatelle and it blew me away. Nice, tender pasta cooked well - the ingredients all made sense (sausage + charred broccoli + shallot) and all came together with the bread crumbs. The service was 4/5, but was great when they came by. Highly recommend overall and would dine again.

One of the best restaurants in Greensboro! It doesn't get the attention it deserves in my opinion. The food is always amazing and super tasty, the craft cocktails are exquisite and there are so many to choose from! We love the truffle fries, fried chicken and the hamburger mac n cheese was drool worthy. The bartenders there know how to make a great cocktail! The service is always good, the food comes out in a timely manner and the ambiance is great, very much a cool vibe. If you haven't tried 1618 midtown; you're definitely missing out on some amazing food and drinks!

Pork Belly with Crispy Rice Cake
    Monica M.

The place was pretty good overall. The ambiance was welcoming and dimly lit--perfect for our 8:30 pm arrival. Everything we ordered, from the food to the drinks, was absolutely delicious. The truffle fries, served with garlic aioli and ketchup, were a hit with our group; we devoured them! The pork belly was also fantastic, bursting with flavor, with a lovely mandarin orange presence, and the crispy rice added an excellent touch. The highlight, though, was the whipped feta dip with sun-dried tomatoes. It was so good that we ordered two without even realizing it--wine might have played a role in our enthusiasm! The prices were fair, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. However, the service was a bit of a letdown, which is why I'm giving this place less than five stars. Our server seemed disengaged--he was literally yawning while talking to us, made no menu suggestions, and took too long to check back in. We were eager to order food right away, but after bringing our drinks, he didn't return for about 15 minutes. The table next to us had the same server and shared similar frustrations. Improving the service would definitely elevate the overall experience.

Lewis and Elm delivers a 5 star experience on so many levels. Many people I've spoken with think it's just a wine bar. Oh no, it goes well beyond your typical wine bar. First off, they have a full bar with a huge specialty cocktail list, craft beers, non alcoholic options and even THC drinks. We had amazing wine off of their impressive list, plus a few cocktails that were mixed extremely well. The food: amazing to say the least. Charcuteries, meats, cheeses, apps, finger foods, and a few uniques you have to get (one in particular). We enjoyed a beautifully plated charcuterie (see pic), the caprese bruschetta, a goat cheese pesto bruschetta, and that one in particular: the medjool dates. Everything was delicious, but these dates were on another level. The dates were surrounded by a bed of creamy Brie cheese melted perfectly, topped with crispy prosciutto and sprinkled with a balsamic reduction. All of this is easily mopped up with the fresh focaccia the dish comes with. This dish rocked! It was perfect on its own, but paired amazingly well with both the chilled white wine and the cocktails we were enjoying. The vibe is amazing as well. Upscale but super comfy interior. Come casual or dressed to impress, it all works here. Live music on the weekends add to the atmosphere and the whole experience. Come for the whole evening, or pre-dinner/pre-show drinks and bites, or even for a night cap after a dinner or show. Come for a quick pit stop, or stay for the live music. It's an all around excellent experience with great drinks, food, service and vibe.

It was a theater night when we went and we had a 7.30 show to goto and our server knew that. We got there at 5.30 so figured that gave us the 10 mins to walk to the theater to be on time. We started off with some drinks. My friend loved her cherry ale and I really enjoyed my G&T , the glass it came in was just so unusual. The G&T took awhile to finally make it to me but i loved it. We ordered the tuna tartare and that was delicious and served up with fried green tomatoes which was a different take on it. Nice and fresh and nicely presented. Our entrees were the salmon for my friend and I had the Bahn mi chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. Usually this sandwich is with pork so I wanted to try this. The service for our dinner took almost 45 mins we had finished the app awhile back and my grind had another drink and still we were waiting. It was closing in on 6.50 Pm and at this point we would be inhaling our food when it came and rushing out the door . It came at 7pm and the sandwich was good but they should mention on the menu that it has mayonnaise on it as I don't like that but there was quite a bit on the bun. Not typically in this type of sandwich so I wasn't expecting it. The chicken was a good and flavorful and lots of other veggie fillings and the fries were great. My friend really enjoyed her salmon and the risotto it came with. Just disappointed we had to eat it all so quickly and leave some so we could pay and leave. We had our eye on the lemon posset tart for dessert but we didn't have time . We just thought since the server knew we had theater tickets she would have been more on top of it. Yes they were busy as it was a show night but the place wasn't totally full. Seemed like no urgency when we asked how long the food would be as we had to leave soon. I'd maybe try this place again on a non show night, as I thought they had a great menu. I enjoyed the place just not the service as we barely made the show before the lights went down.

Absolutely love the ambiance of this place and the staff were also very friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back to try more of their drinks!

Amazing! This has officially become our go to cocktail lounge locally here in Greensboro…read more We had excellent cocktails, super fun service, and the ambiance was exactly what we wanted for an intimate and classy evening out. Our bartender, LT, was so much fun. Every drink was spot on. An espresso martini for my wife and a bold old fashioned for me. On top of that, LT clearly knows his stuff when it comes to both cocktails and bourbon knowledge. I added a 1oz neat pour of 12yr Weller. Let's just say this place is a Weller lover's dream. The owner is a huge Weller fan and keeps the lounge stocked with pretty much every bottle imaginable. Something that's nearly impossible to find in Greensboro. And then there's the showstopper: a Weller Millennium bottle sitting on display. At $600 for a 1oz pour, it's pure eye candy for me. I'll just admire it from one of the comfy couches or large chairs and keep my wallet happy. Whenever we're looking for a classy evening out in downtown Greensboro, Muddle will be our first stop every time.
