We loved our week long stay here. The staff is helpful and even offers dog walking. Campground is spacious with a split size dog park.

UPDATE- So, I originally had not that good of a review and I must say, within 45 minutes, maybe less, the GM of this property, who was at home, read it and personally came down to see if he could help. Tyler really cares about one's experience here and, if he can make a difference, he will. Gets 4/5 because we still have no internet and cable but, Tyler gets a 6/5, so we settle on a 5/5. read more

Very disappointed. Beautiful spot but when we(10 people) made reservations we specifically did so knowing they had a pool that was open until Sept 14. I called this morning before checkin to make sure pool was open as advertised and was assured it was until sept 14. We all checked in earlier and was told sunday the 10th will be the last day for the pool. We could gave found another campground if we had know. So be aware if you are coming any time soon read more

This resort FEELS like a resort, and we felt very welcomed and safe during our month-long stay. The staff went out of their way to talk to guests, answer questions and provide help when asked; very accommodating. The resort is very well-maintained with attention to detail. Nice pool area for the summer months. Close to Spearfish, Sturgis and Deadwood, it was a great home base. Close enough to Devils Tower, Custer and the Badlands for day trips. Would stay here again without any second thoughts. read more

I have stayed at many different KOA/RV resorts in the country and this one tops them all when it came to cleanliness, how the site were supplied, the aesthetics, staff is amazing, and their willing to do whatever it takes to keep you happy! They're also pet friendly and have well-kept dog parks, they have walking trails, they have full size athletic courts. I would highly recommend this for families, or people who motorcycle, but in addition to all that they have an event center and event party tents for weddings or reunions or gatherings. Close to Spearfish featuring restaurants, grocery, Walmart. 8 miles (short highway drive) from Deadwood. Close to scenic rte 14A, Spearfish canyon road. We stumbled on this RV park on our way back from Mt. Rushmore...how lucky we were! We quickly returned to our home base in Gillette and made a reservation here! Park is clean, well-maintained, spots are nice and roomy, level and quiet. We were only able to get 2 nights (would have loved 3) but I'm happy we were able to get in with late notice. Definitely would recommend this place and would go back, if ever in that part of the country again! Beautiful surroundings too... read more

First stop on our cross country trip in our recently purchased 5th wheel. Being first time RVers we weren't sure what to expect. But we have to say The experience was awesome. My boyfriend made the comment as we were leaving. It's gonna be hard to beat this place. The staff were very helpful and made you feel like family. The park is beautiful: the sculptures are wonderful, the RV spaces are actually concrete, there are a lot of nice cosmetic features. But functionality is what is important. The water pressure was so bad we had to keep our water pump on. The electric outlets were difficult to plug into because they were not anchored correctly. We will find another place next time we are in this area. read more

Pros: Centrally located to everything. The pull-thru pad was great for our rig and the motorcycle trailer with lots of room for the trailer ramp. Wi-fi, cable television, and all the hook-ups. AAA discount of 10%. Paved roads for riding the motorcycles out. It's clean, new looking, and very attractive. I would have given Elkhorn Ridge 5 stars plus except for one major item. They gave us site #100 and I was thrilled we were by the shower house but then we were told that the shower house by us was closed and we would have to use the one all the way on the other side of the park! Really?!?! No rest room or shower house within walking distance. We need to ride the motorcycle to take a shower? When I asked if we could have a site closer to the working showers they said those spots were closed..."winterized"...yet their were two rigs in that area. The staff showed little concern about the inconvenience of no rest rooms or shower next to our site. They are lucky I gave them 3 stars!!! read more

Top notch RV resort. The location is outstanding, and the park is exceptional. We've been there twice, and will return.

Attention Bikers & Glampers - this is a great place to stay, offers camping year round. The facility and campground are very new and have every amenity one could want in a campground. There are 186 paved RV sites (mostly pull through), a bunch of tent camping sites, and 36 fully furnished large and small cabins. Full hook-ups include on lot water, sewer, electrical (20, 30, or 50 amp service), free wi-fi, and cable. I stayed in a back-in site for $50 per night, plus tax (rates are higher for bike week), pull through sites are $60 per night, and cabins range from $135 to $185 per night. The staff are professional, helpful and friendly. Elkhorn Ridge does offer AAA and Good Sam discounts (10%), and are pet friendly. The resort itself has a ton of amenities, well beyond my camping needs (showers and flush toilets), including: heated outdoor pool; 2 hot tubs; lighted tennis and basketball courts; shared fire pits; 2 very clean shower/laundry houses; large and small dog parks and walking path; and so much more. The RV park is affiliated with the Elkhart Ridge Golf Club. The 'camp store' is fully stocked with everything you might need for camping, like flashlights, batteries, etc., some groceries, and an extremely large assortment of beer, wine, and liquor (FYI: they do not stock cigarettes). The cafe' in the main office makes a mean breakfast sandwich for about $5, and serves all you can eat pancakes for $5 - free coffee. Surrounded by the scenic Black Hills, not far from Deadwood and Sturgis, this place is a true destination spot for families and solos, big rigs and small rigs, and has something for everyone. read more

Stayed for Sturgis rally and found the campground to be one of the nicest and most week kept that I have been to. The close proximity to Spearfish Canyon and Deadwood provided some scenic riding. The trip to Sturgis was relatively short from Spearfish. The campground was easy to get into, the site was large with a concrete pad with water, sewer and electric all in good working order. Can't say enough good about the facility and the amenities but was disappointed with the lack of attention and follow through when I had a billing issue. I left numerous phone messages and sent emails after I discovered I was double charged and not issued a partial refund as promised by initial contact and documented by emails. I eventually had no choice but to have AmEx intervene and reverse the charges. I would however stay again but would probably be a little more vigilant and double check charges before driving 2800 miles home and trying to sort things out over the phone. For this, I have rated four stars but would have otherwise gone with five. Hopefully whatever lack of staffing or inattention from management to accounting and customer inquiries after the sale has been corrected. read more

So when we first got there we checked in and we were told that they had to switch our cabin. they did not seem to care that we were part of a wedding and all of our family was in the section that we we're original part of. I talked with the front desk staff there to see if we could switch cabins since there was one open near my group. But I was told they were all full and nothing they can do it about. Then I asked a little later that day and said it was open but not clean and they would not make it there priority to clean since I had cabin which this was not one I reserved. They did not even offer a discounted counted rate for the room and offer anything else. The cabins were nice but the beds were not very comfortable at all would not recommend this place at all. If we go back there we will stay some place else read more

This was by far one of the best RV parks our family has ever been to. Beautiful facilities and lots of great amenities. The pool and basketball courts were a big hit with our family. Staff was friendly and helpful and they kept the park spotless. We would definitely recommend Elkhorn Ridge to anyone and will return the next time we make a trip to Spearfish! read more

It is a new place, with good views of the hills around. Lots are wide, with paved RV pad. Green grass all over, wide streets for very easy turning into RV lots, Very Clean bath houses. And little store and other thing in main office. For Big Big rigs, you can keep your car hooked on= all the way to final placement. read more

What a beautiful rv park. Clean with concrete pads. Our pad was really deep so it made it more roomy. The spots are a tad narrow so you are a bit close to your neighbors but all the amenities like heated pool, two spas, convenience store and views made up for that. It is only minutes to Deadwood and Sturgis and a close drive to Devils Tower and Custer State Park/Mount Rushmore. Baths were individual compartments which I like. As far as we are concerned, it is the ONLY place to park your RV if you are in this beautiful area of SD. read more

Great RV Park! I stayed here June 30th. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The grounds are well maintained. Looks like a showcase! Large sites and great amenities. My only regret is that we were just passing through and only had time to stay one night. I hope to be back and stay a few days the next time and would recommend everyone do the same! read more

Stated here June, 2013; We had high hopes for this park when we arrived. Looks great, but that can be deceiving. What's Good: *Staff is very friendly *Facility is clean and open *Large paved sites, big rig friendly What's Bad: *Internet service at the main lodge is difficult to access due to a highly complicated procedure; Internet service at the RV sites does not work and the office staff is not helpful in that regard *Cell phone service is marginal at best, therefore using a MIFI Internet Card is a struggle to say the least *No security/street lights in the park itself, therefore very difficult to locate your site at night and dangerous when walking your dog. The only area with lights is around the main lodge. *Only 2 laundry rooms with a total of 4 washers & 4 dryers for all 187 sites; units are very small and there are no change machines; when we were here only 3 dryers were working *There is a fenced in pet exercise area, but the grass was 10-12" high ait had not been mowed in weeks. We will not come back here as we expected better for the price we paid, about $56.00 per nite read more
