I'm writing this through out my experience... so it's Wednesday evening I come in ask for the deluxe pedicure they say 15 min wait ok no problem... almost 45 mins later! the lady got a bucket of water and asks me to sit.. Ashlee is doing my pedicure shes nice, but cut me while cutting my cuticles, worst massage ever she doesn't even pay attention to what she's doing. then she got the paraffin wax and it's HOT my foot started twitching because it was so hot! then she brought out the Warm towels and they we're HOT I swear I'm going to walk out if here with cuts and burns all over my legs and feet. now Emmy is finishing up since the other girl left to do another ladies nails... seems like she she knows what she doing.. to bad she couldn't have done my whole pedicure. long story short I MIGHT give them another chance but I would much rather drive to vacaville and go to HAPPY NAILS! read more

Came in on a Wednesday for a pedicure. It was the middle of the day and they were able to take me as a walk in without a wait. From the pictures you think that the pedicure chairs are whirlpool spas but they're actually removable tubs that they fill with warm water and rose petals. I didn't mind though because the chairs were still comfortable although the massaging aspect of the chairs wasn't that great. I only got the basic pedicure and as far as basic pedicures go, it was what I expected. They scrubbed my feet but it was just a quick scrub and I didn't really like the scrub they used. I didn't think it really worked much at all. The technician I went to, Ashlee, did such a good job with filing and cleaning my cuticles though. I was very impressed! They massaged my feet and used hot stones and that lasted 8 minutes. (I timed it) I got a nail design and Ashlee did a really good job with it. They also have a good selection of brand name nail polish. Overall I paid $30 for a pedicure + nail design which I find to be standard. I would recommend this place (especially Ashlee) and I would return. Although if I wanted to really pamper myself and splurge I'd still go back to my nail salon in Vacaville for a more relaxing experience. But if a good quality pedicure is all you need, this place is good! read more

I took my 6 y/o here yesterday for a special treat since she's been doing good in school. $20 for an under 8 mani/pedi. We waited for 25 mins to start so that was a bit tiresome...once we started, the service was decent for the under 8 mani pedi. We had the person responsible for the phone and register I guess because she was constantly answering the phone and etc. I thought it was odd that she didn't have my daughter soak her fingers for her mani... The tech we had was a lil impatient with my daughter not stretching far enough to paint but uh she's 6 her arms and legs are only so long.... When we left we had no sandals nor were we offered any and a few of my daughter's toe nails were extended by paint.... She doesn't have small nails either.... Idk what it is but good nail shops are so hard to come by!!!! read more

I rarely write reviews but had to in this case. I made appointments for my daughter and I. When my daughter asked to get acrylic nails, she was told "NO". Then I asked if she get get them. I was told "No". I got acrylic when I was younger than my daughters age if that has anything to do with it. Very dissatisfied. Plus got charged way to much for them not being able to do any design or anything my daughter wanted, just plain color. read more

Friendly staff, listened to and executed all my requests for shape, color, etc. I'm always in and out in about an hour, hour and a half for a full set/fill with gel polish and a pedicure. I did a walk-in on a Thursday at around 330. I was immediately seated. I was a little disgusted though because the gentleman that was doing my nails was outside, smoking a cigarette and didnt wash his hands before working on my nails. Throughout my visit, no one had to wait. I got a gel full set for $40 and a gel pedicure for $40 as well. I thought it was pretty pricey, considering basic pedicures are $25. My nails were not the shape i wanted them to be, they were all pretty uneven. Some were thick, some were thin. My pinky's were really slanted. Some of the acrylic nails covered the side of my fingers, indicating that he put really big sized nails on me. They have a pretty good selection of colors. I thoroughly enjoyed my pedicure. The massage was exactly what i needed to feel pampered. I loved soaking my feet in w/ the rose petals and lemon, i wish the water was a little hotter. I was a little disappointed that the gentleman didnt change the polishes when it started to get clumpy on my toes. It's white, so its not like there's not more. It came out kindof thick. I was mostly disappointed because ive heard such good things about this nail salon, but it didnt reach that expectation for me. Overall, i wont be returning. read more

Yesterday I called Special Nails to make an appointment for a fill and a pedicure. I was informed that if I came right away they could take me so I drove over there within 5 minutes. Once I arrived I had to wait 30 minutes for a nail technician. The nail technician who eventually started on my fill repeatedly made comments about how she was busy and didn't have time to work on my nails. When I asked her about doing a basic design she was clueless and informed me that she could not recommend a design. Her work was extremely sloppy. After I was done I stood at the counter trying to pay for ten minutes and no one acknowledged me. Eventually I raised my hand and asked if someone could assist me as I was trying to pay. Another technician stood up and put her hands in the air and said "there are not enough people here to help!" I cannot believe I ended up paying $65 for sloppy service and terrible customer service. Hire a receptionist who can book appointments and treat customers with respect! I was so disappointed with my nails that I walked across the street to Kim's nails. Even though they were closing they redid my nails and even provided me with a discount because they felt bad about the service I received at Special Nails. I will never go back to Special Nails again. read more

Went in for just a fill with white tips should have been simple but no what I recieved was crooked nails way to short as nancy cut them way down and crooked was also getting a pedicure but made them stop half way through as the gentleman doing my pedi kept arguing about my nails which I was not happy with so I ended up paying $17. I'm very sorry to have to downgrade my review, but I feel like the employees don't care like they did in the beginning. On Saturday it was very quiet. At one time four employees were sitting around looking at their phones and drinking thai iced teas. The first thing I noticed sitting at the station was how dusty it was. Then, my manicurist set up his phone so he could watch something while he did my nails. While he was trimming and filing my nails he decided to trim and file *his* nails with the same utensils. Isn't that a sanitary no-no? Isn't that why manicurists are supposed to sterilize their tools each time they have a new customer? GROSS. Then, another employee sat next to us and began to watch a movie or tv on her phone, with the volume up full--no headphones. When she complained about only having made $5 in tips that day I wanted to tell all of those sitting around that if they got up and CLEANED and stopped talking in Vietnamese among themselves about the customers it would help a lot. The manicure itself wasn't the best nor the worst I've ever had, but I am wishing that the owners would tighten things up a little bit. Stay away if you want to actually enjoy your pedicure!! Worst pedicure experience ever!! I wish I could give it zero stars!! The old bag of lady was totally rude from the moment I sat down. She kept yelling at me to bend my toes even after I told her her 3x's I can't bc I have multiple screws in my toes/foot. Finally after being uncomfortable & tortured for 30+ minutes and I was sitting down to dry...she demanded that I pay in a nasty tone. After I there was a mixup with my appointment at another salon and I couldn't be accommodated, I stopped at special nails hoping I could have a French gel polish done On 9/13/18. Tina took me within a couple of minutes, did a really nice job with my nails, including repairing two that had cracks in them. On top of that great service, I realized I had left my fit bit there after I left. I went there to get a pedicure after seeing it got good reviews on yelp the service is very good it's very clean.the bowls that they use to soak your feet in our big bucket type of bowls and they put in flower petals and lemon slices since it's not a sink type of bowl the water doesn't stay warm for very long they offered me water or tea which was nice they have a very good selection of nail polish colors they also do a foot scrub which is very nice it comes with the basic pedicure and a hot stone massage. I usually have great experiences here. The staff is friendly, and I'm able to get in without having to wait too long. They usually do my nails just the way I like it... But again that's all based on WHO does your nails. I love their pedis. The basic is almost the deluxe pedicure in most places: salt scrub, rose petals, lemon scrub, massage, hot stones?! WHAT?! Amazing! Their mani's, however, tend to get sloppy at times. Again, depending on WHO does it. I always get a gel/shellac mani, and well, I expect my nails to be a perfect shape and the paint to look flawless if I'm paying $30 for it... This particular visit. Was not. I had to ask what seemed like the lady manager to look at them and see how sloppy they were so she re-filed them for me. And they look a little better. What I probably didn't need was an excuse that my nails were too short which was cut by the guy who did it. -___- I just needed admittance that INDEED it was a sloppy job. Horrible customer service. I came in the first time and the girl doing my nails was just rude.. doing it in a rush, not acknowledging what I want, and isn't patient when I was trying to figure out between two colors. Then I come back again to give it another try and she's there again, giving me attitude. I called for a pedicure appt. at 3:30. I walk in and as the lady who is doing my pedicure is sitting me, the rude lady asks if I called before I came in and I said yes. Then another girl walks in and says she has a 3:30 mani pedi appt so the lady points to me and says "see you didn't call" but I responded saying "I did call for a pedi appt at 3:30" and she laughs it off, not believing me. She pays attention to detail & gives me what I ask for every single time. My nail beds are never sore when I leave & my full set of gel/acrylic nails always look fabulous. Got a mani-pedi today. The lady was not good and kind of rough. I wish I got her name. She was scrubbing my heal and the scrub kept hitting my leg above my achilles. Now it's red and itchy because it's scratched up. Then she was doing my nails and made one of them bleed. I noticed all she did to her tools when she was done with me was spray alcohol, wipe them and then put it back in her case. The stars are for the tech who put my lashes on, not the service I received. Went for an eyelash extension after hearing about this place from a coworker. Don is super sweet and was kind answering my million questions. They are very affordable, only $25! However, the quality isn't the best. They use the synthetic lashes, I didn't do individual which may have made a difference, so you're not walking out looking like you have naturally long lashes! I did not want a natural look but the lashes are hard, almost crisp. Again, Don was awesome but I just wish better lashes were used. But that's how they're so affordable. Would I be back? Probably not, I'll stick to my strip lashes! read more

Worst experience ever. I got overcharged and only had globs left, no smooth finish whatsoever. When I went back to complain they said it was my fault for choosing such a light color. They didn't even admit to the fact that the job was done sloppy. This place is joke. The water in which I dipped my fingers in for my pedi was cloudy grey so I had to tell her because she was not going to change it and give me a new one.
