I came in with a budget, that limited what I could do with the coloring and services, but Rudy made it worked out and it turned out to be better than any other salons I have EVER been to. I'm be honest it's been the second time she did this to me the first time she took someone after me and had me under the dryer and made me wait even though I was there already at my appt and they were late and I ended up waiting my hair over processed and I had to say something even then and then I come for an appt I booked weeks out for 4 and she kept pushing me off that day to come at 5 and then I sat there until 5:30 waiting for my 4 pm appt and then you said your son was sick and you had to go do I didn't get my hair done at all pretty sad and you should of compensated me since I drove from Vacaville both times. Terrible experience went to Megan and she had overbooked her appointments so was working on me and two other people at same time so unprofessional. Every other place I've been before they've always put 3-4 hours for one client. Then my color was not like the picture at all. I had to go back 3 times still not happy with the results. I had a wonderful experience with Nina. I have very curly, frizzy, color treated (over gray) shoulder length hair. I saw pictures of Nina's fabulous work on curly, damaged hair in reviews on-line and hoped she could help me. Nina took the time to discuss my hair issues, what I wanted to achieve, types of cuts, recommendations on processes and products that could also help. After my haircut, I was going to have her blow dry it by brush, but Nina also took the time to show me how to use the diffuser properly and get the best out of my new cut. I was looking for a new stylist. I made an appointment and arrived a few minutes early. I sat in the waiting area for 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. I watched one stylist sit in a chair, legs stretched out, relaxing. She looked a me several times but never asked if she could help me. Finally, someone asked what I was there for, said the couldn't find my appointment, didn't offer to try to fit me in, or to make a new appointment. Ruby is a diamond in the rough at this salon. I've been through a few shabby hairstylists in my time who have either given me the wrong haircut or hacked my hair to death and then I met Ruby and my opinion about hairstylists and my inability to have amazing hair, immediately changed. For the past 2 1/2 years she has been cutting my hair to my version of perfection. Which is great because she really listens to her clients. I trust her to cut my hair in a way that I would like and I trust her expertise. She's the only stylist I've ever had who continues to go to hairstyling and cutting classes to get updated on the newest trends. I find that as a long as you're clear about what you want from the beginning, it's hard to go wrong with her. It helps to bring her a picture of what you would like. For the times that I was unable to, she really walked me through the process as she cut my hair. Constantly asking me if it was the right length and what I wanted. I found it to be a very professional and I could tell she really listened. As far as the rest of the salon goes: It's okay. You have your share of snobby stylists, but they're not the worst. They're the kind of stylists where if you make the step to interact with them, you'll see that they're warm and friendly. Also, there's no receptionist at this salon. Each hair stylist acts as the receptionist and while I'm sure it's cheaper to not have a receptionist, it'd make the salon more professional and easier to run if there was one there. So if you're a walk-in, make yourself known right when you get there. If you just wait inside and wait for them to come get you, they might accidentally assume you're waiting for someone or you have a scheduled appointment. If there was a receptionist there, it might make this a much easier experience for walk-ins. read more

I wish I could give it ZERO stars, but unfortunately, the least I can give is a ONE star.. I had my hair highlighted by Ruby and it didn't come out light enough. You could barely tell that anything was even done to it. I asked if she could lighten it a bit more and she did. She also completely ruined my hair. She went overboard with processing it to the point that my hair badly fried! It was like a rubber band and every time I brushed it, tons of hair would break off. I was so devastated and she just told me that I needed to get used to my new "look". She also blamed it on me saying that I didn't take good care of my hair. My hair was extremely healthy and had not been touched by anyone in a very long time. She refused to refund my $$ and was extremely rude. I wish she would have told me that she wasn't good at highlights. I would have NEVER let her near my hair. Never. Beware of this place, and more importantly, beware of RUBY...unless you want to lose your hair! And your $$!!! read more

She treats you not like just another customer but a friend. Stephanie does my hair and does great perms and highlights and you get a "good haircut" . When I first moved to Fairfield from the Valley, I would go back to Madera to get my nails done every 2 weeks because I tried several other places in town and Vacaville but they could not measure up. My mother-in-law gave me a gift certificate to have Karen do my nails, she thought it was crazy for me to go all the way to the Valley. I was very apprehensive but after just 1 visit I knew that my traveling days were at a end. I schedule all my other appointments/ surgeries around my nail appointments!!! I hate this salon. I sat down with Ruby for a root touch up on my color. She didn't lighten my hair enough to even the color, then when she toned it she didnt pay attention and left it on too long turning my hair purple on top and orange/grey at the roots. Then she did another tone at the shampoo bowl which left me with pink ends. Then came the bleach with 30v developerto "correct" her color mistake, and melted my hair half way off because she left it on too long. The owner offered no help in correcting all the mistakes, I left with wet melted uneven hair. AND she charged me 65$ this place is horrible and I will be filing a complaint against it with the California state board. read more
