The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. Made a same day appointment to get a dip manicure. Great selection of colors. I had to remove a star because several of my nails cracked the very next day, which has never happened with dip powder before. I called to inform the shop of the nails and asked if I could be seen to get it fixed. I requested to have gel placed on instead and Jenny happily obliged. Recently I decided to start getting my nails done again and have come here the last 3 times because of the price point. For what they charge, it is decent enough where the minor mistakes (nails and colored tips being different sizes) don't matter, and that is not something I have complained about anyway, though I've noticed. Pretty good bang for your buck. What I do care about is my time. I don't live super close by. I had an email saying my appointment is for 9AM that was confirmed by them. I get a call while I'm out of town saying "see you at 10". I'm thinking it is a mistake as they did not indicate that there was any change of time and no email sent. If someone were changing the time of the appointment, they should indicate in the voicemail that "your appointment has been changed to 10 so see you then". I show up at my confirmed appt time and they said she put it for 10. No apologies. Just telling me even after I show the email. Then I get a call saying she said 10 on the voicemail and I tell her that there was no indication that the appt was changed to 10. I drove all the way there and had to go all the way home. Still no apology. I can't get my wasted time back. read more

Michelle did a good job on my pedicure. She really scrub my feet & they felt softer afterwards. Trihn did a good job with my facial & she also did my manicure. The only thing I requested to have a little acrylic on 2 of my nails that were on the verge of breaking. Unfortunately, both nails have already snagged & I had to file them down which I was trying to preserve the length of my nails & trying to avoid them being shorter having the acrylic placed on during my pedicure. Next time, I will have her place more acrylic on it & adjust it like I get it when I go to my primary nail shop. I would definitely recommend checking them out. Jessica is great. The lady who my pedicure was good. But I'll never come back here again. :( I asked the lady who was doing my nails, Ky, to place it almond shape like I always have them. But look at this work! Then when she filed them, she filed my cuticles too so they bled! She thought she would fix it by constantly putting alcohol on my hands at least 4 times during the process. But look at how red my cuticles are - she made me bleed then tried to cover it up! Every time she held the other hand she grabbed it. Everything she did was fast and forceful and harsh. She didn't even massage the other hand. No talk to see how I was doing. I wanted to walk out of there but I stayed bc Jessica had always taken care of me in the past. When I was done, Jessica even had to do over the paint on one nail bc it wasn't done all the way. The lady, Ky, even only put one coat on. Look at this job. My cuticles are still red and how am I supposed to go into my new office with this horrible job done on my nails?! Would no longer recommend this place. Would never come back here again. I really wanted to like this place but after the 3rd time here I'm probably going to find a different place to have my nails filled. The pros are most of the ladies are very sweet and provide great customer service. The prices are reasonable and the location nice and tucked away in a good neighborhood. The only con is the job itself. I've only had my nails done by one lady here, and she happens to be the only lady at this shop that isn't very pleasant and is difficult communicating with. Each time, I have a couple fingers bleeding, cuticles painted over, and polish is not smooth. The third time, I had enough and made sure she'd get it right but after sitting there for 1.5 hours and multiple attempts at fixing it, she decided to blame the bad job on the polish. read more

Been a customer for many years. Advice: ONLY see Jessica or Michelle for your services. Michelle is the best on pedicures. And she is warm and friendly, such a nice person. Same with Jessica. There is one worker who wears a big frown constantly, and gave me a pedi when Michelle wasn't available. She hurt me and cut my toe. Never again! She was awful. This use to be my happy place where I have been going to pamper myself since they opened. Glad to always tip them big. But sadly, I choose not to return after being turned away for service three times during their OPEN business hours during weekdays 9AM to 7PM. As a busy working Mom, my weekends are always busy. Coming in from work from San Pablo, I walked in to get just a pedicure at 6:30PM, 2 workers were available, and had only 1customer but only to be turned away by owner, Jessica saying, "can you come back another time? We cannot do now, we are about to close." I say, but you're still open until 7:00PM, so you're not closed yet. Still, I was told no and to come back tomorrow. Next two days there after, I come back, 6:15PM to get my much needed pedicure done, AND again, I was told it's late again from Michelle, "Late already and cannot do". I told her I don't understand, because she has taken me in before, but okay I'll just come back. I leave upset. The next day, I made it in again at 6:25pm. Michelle and another worker sitting at the manicure table with no customers, Michelle looking at the clock, but the other worker talking in their language, appeared willing to to take me, but was stopped by Michelle and told her not to take me, "it's late, we closing soon", told me, "you need to come a little early". Ahh, but you're still open. Hey JD Nails! your business hours says OPEN until 7:00pm NOT 6:00, 6:14, 6:30 or 6:59pm. I make it through your door before 7:00PM. Come to think of it, it's not the first time you did this, I've seen you turn others away, about the same time before. If this is the case, then change your closing time to 6:00PM! Confirmed by BBB that services should be rendered during open hours. Unless I am a bad customer, you have the right to refuse, but I am not. I was once your loyal customer. Let me start with the staff. Everyone here is always super friendly with a smile on their face. I've probably been here about 6 times already and every visit, I get someone different from the last and I leave happy every time. The prices here is decent, the salon itself is very clean with comfortable massage chairs. They even offer water or tea while you relax during your pedicure. I've went here twice the last year. Service has gone down hill from before. It used to be good and glad it was local since I live in HB. If you don't upgrade your pedicure, they rush you out there and don't do a very a good job and barely even trim cuticles. Got a haircut here. Never again. I doubt the lady (not Jessica) has her license. She barely wet my hair so cut it basically dry. She asked me to stand 3/4 the time cutting it despite me telling her it was crooked after showing me in the mirror. She said it's cuz my shoulder was making it look crooked. She said I had to stand because the chair was too low for her. I asked the chair raised, didn't it? She just kept saying sorry. She didn't even sweep the hair from the customer prior to me so I was stepping in hair all over. It was gross. I would not recommend the lash services or manicures here. I 100% agree with all the reviews about how Ky makes your cuticles bleed. I noticed that she missed some areas that she didn't put nail polish on and her response was that she was gonna file it?? FYI, the lash photos and vids that are posted are not accurate bc I found out that that specific lash tech doesn't even work here anymore! I was so disappointed. The lady who did mine claimed that that was her work, when in fact, Jessica the manager said no. Lol. Oh and btw, my lashes didn't last very long bc the grow out was so clumpy. I finally found an amazing Lash lady in Vallejo! Haha it's so hard to find someone that does great eyelash extensions. It's $120 to get a brand new set. My eyelashes stayed on tight for 4 weeks. A eyelash fill is $60. I didn't get a fill until week 6. The very first time I got them done there they were the 3D lash style. It was nice but I wanted them more natural. So the next time I went in with no lashes on I told her I wanted a more natural look. Some long, some short. Kinda like the whipsie look. And she did just that! You just have to communicate with them from the start how you want your lashes to look like. Show them picture to help. I always call on Friday to make an appointment first thing Saturday morning and they always take me in. They're pretty good. read more

Love it here! I always get the deluxe pedi with a gel manicure and sometimes get my lip waxed. The chairs in here are amazing, I legit nodded off one time! The deluxe pedi includes the norm, but they add rose petals, lemon and coconut to the water. You soak and they clean up around your nail, then you get to choose which scented scrub, I love lavender. Next is a mask followed but a msaages with hot stones then cleaned off with a hot towel. Twice that I've been in here they did my manicure while I was in the pedicure chair too! I find that very efficient! Wax is quick, everyone is friendly, I recommended this place twice already! read more

Unfortunately, it was short lived and I will not be coming back. After getting a full set 3 days later my thumb nail chipped, middle finger broke as well as my index finger. I went in and asked them to fix them in which they would only fix 2 and then proceeded to try and charge me 8$. Why would I pay 8$ to fix a full set I just paid 40 for days prior? NOW 2 days later my other index finger AND other middle finger have just snapped off effortlessly. Don't go in for a full set if you want it to last more than a week. in my three years of getting acrylics i've never has nails snap for no reason. On the bright side my pedi is still ok! read more

Went to JD nails the day after Thanksgiving for pedis with my daughter, sis in law and niece. Last minute decided to get a full set as I had taken my nails off a month before to take a break. Worst decision ever. The girl who did my nails plopped loads of acrylic on each nail, and I should have known then it was going to be all bad. I wanted coffin nails with ombre polish, and decided to add some gold flakes for Xmas. The nails looked bad but I left because we were meeting other family for lunch. I ended up going back because they just looked too bad and we're way too thick to be stuck with for 2 weeks. Another lady fixed them but a week later one popped off while doing dishes so I removed the rest super easy (they were barely stuck on). Now I have 2 nails with mold or fungus - not sure. I would never recommend going to this place. I've been getting my nails done for more than 30 years and have never had fungus EVER. Stay far from this place! read more
