I was apprehensive about this place initially because of some of the reviews that I've seen but I was desperate from crab Rangoon so I gave it a shot and honestly wasn't mad! It was actually pretty good I also got a combo of boneless spare ribs with fried rice and an egg roll. The rice was actually very flavorful and the pork was good too. The egg roll was cooked well and not greasy just not my favorite. Prices are very reasonable. The only thing that my fat behind didn't love is that the portions were a little small (the container is small but you can't really tell this by the photo) so no leftovers for me! I was craving Chinese takeout after landing at TPA and this place was open and on the way home, so we picked up a few items. Our order included dumplings (the frozen ones I get at MD Oriental may be better), hot and sour soup (a bit strange with celery in it), black bean chicken, kung pao shrimp and vegetable fried rice (not sure why the rice is yellow). This is definitely American Chinese Food, similar to Panda Express. The food satisfied the craving, and it was quick which was good when you're hungry and trying to get home after an afternoon of travel. It's nothing special, and probably won't be my new go to Chinese place (I'm still looking for that), but it met the hunger needs at the time. read more

I had an Amtrak bus to catch and was hungry/needed to wait out some time. This place isn't much to look at & I don't recommend their bathroom, but the food was good and plentiful. I had the home style tofu. It came with rice & was cooked with broccoli, baby corn, mushrooms & bamboo(?) strips. I'm picky about my tofu & it was perfect. There are so many Chinese-American takeout restaurants near my house. But, this location is the best from my experience. The building is brand new, and the interior is still nice and clean. Maybe I am just really hungry whenever I visit China 1, but the food is really fresh and not too greasy. Crab Rangoons are not sweet, thank goodness. When I am craving steamed rice and too lazy to make it, I will order it take-out, because China 1's steamed rice has the texture and flavor that I am craving, close, cheap, and fast. I used to go here for the Crab Rangoon, would literally only order Crab Rangoon. It was made fresh in house. Every Crab Rangoon was different and filled to the brim with a delicious sweet crab and cheese filling. They were also fried to perfection. On my visit last night which was the first time in several years I ordered Crab Rangoon and it came out as small perfectly shaped triangles. Clearly purchased through distribution and previously frozen. I asked the lady who took my order what changed and she explained that her family took over the restaurant several years ago and they changed some of the food items. Well well well. Being able to notice the subtle nuances in take out Chinese takes years of being hung over and perfecting recovery of such. China One is consistent. Day in day out, month after month and year after year you know exactly what you are getting. Within a 5 mile radius you have 3-4 options to choose from and thank me later for picking for you. Menu is typical take out menu (I think if any restaurant deviates from the standard format The Gods would frown upon that) so I look at the quality control when it comes to Chinese. China1 always maintains great standards with fresh vegetables and proteins. They have great balance in their combo platters always assuring a proper protein to vegetable balance. Fried items indicate they don't over use their oil and consistently change it. This is a big deal as some places will not replace regularly which leads to bitter tasting foods. If you are lucky you can find the family children running the register. When I was 12 I could barely make it school on time much less run a register. The owner is always polite and if they tell you 10 minutes it will be ready in 10 minutes. Enjoy. read more

China 1 is getting three stars from this gal due to the food being just fine for a quick something to eat on a busy night after work. I absolutely love their teriyaki beef skewers appetizer. The meat is flavorful, tender, juicy and awesome. I truthfully could eat those and an egg roll and call it a meal. However on this trip I also ordered a "C25" better known as Bourbon Chicken with fried rice and an egg roll combo. I really liked the texture of the chicken and had high hopes for the flavor but sadly flavor wise the dish fell short. It needed some Mae Ploy sweet chili sauce from my fridge to make it better. Chinese food is always a treat especially during Covid times. We have decided to minimize out exposure and rarely go out or order takeout. So our order was sesame chicken, boneless spare ribs, crab rangoon, egg foo young, chicken on a stick, beef on a stick and steam wontons. This food would normally last us into Monday. The only thing that was fresh and was normal was the egg foo young. The remaining items we got were less then fair in taste. Now I know that Chinese food isn't health and prepared in large qualities. I've had Chinese food from all over the states, this was by far the worst. I'm not one to complain on these websites/apps. I know times are tough for everyone, including restaurant. This is spot I go to when I craving some Chinese Take Out. It's small nothing special on the inside typical take out restaurant. They do have a small dining area too. Their Wonton soup the broth is on point. Wish they had more filling in the Wonton though. I usually get the chicken lo mein and egg foo young. My son usually gets sweet and sour chicken. The food here is great, if you can manage to get an order in with the mush-mouthed person on the phone. Every single time I call this place, they have the same person taking phone orders, and it's a constant struggle to understand them when they barely open their mouth to speak. The person behind the phone is also always extremely inconsiderate, rarely even saying anything before hanging up.
