I bought a Porsche 911 Cabriolet (996) at an estate auction. The price was well below market but the risk was high because the car could not be test driven. Met with Sam, the new owner of Specialized Porsche, and he outlined a plan of action. Made an appointment and brought the car back a couple weeks later. Sam is an encyclopedia on everything Porsche. He did a thorough analysis of the vehicle and mapped out a plan for immediate maintenance/repairs along with suggested future maintenance. Prior to my purchase, the car was afflicted with some second rate hack repairs that had to be corrected. Sam's work is top notch. I am now driving a car in which I feel secure. As to price, he provides the same if not better quality service than the franchise Porsche dealers at a significantly better rate. That being said, Porsche's are exotic automobiles and the parts prices he has no control over. He will not use potentially inferior aftermarket parts.
