Bought an SL7 Tarmac a few days ago and a previous shop had serviced it but wouldn't touch the seized seat post.. they told me the previous owner may have known that's why I got such a good deal and it's going to be hundreds. Purchased Specialized Vado in late 2022, for $5,600 new. Had the motor malfunction on my way home and was unrideable, rear tire would not roll. Specialized offered $100 off the price of a new motor that retails for $1,200. I would never buy a Specialized anything after no support. You can find many other pedal assist bikes that cost a fraction of what I paid. My bike is junk without the $1,200 repair. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Warning: Specialized Santa Monica does not have any better service than your average local bike shop. Just like regular bike shop, Specialized corporate can only provide customer feedback and nothing else can be done if you have any problem. This location will not provide any customer service after your purchase. The Sales rep told me I would fit large frame size but had issues with fitting. They changed the frame to the correct size. The previous frame also had issue with brake line rubbing the frame that left the marks. If i had not noticed it, it would have easily damaged the frame. That bike looks like it is still being sold at the shop. Replaced bike had issued with rear wheel bearing that sounded rough and not spinning well. It would completely stop before 20 second mark from good amount of speed free wheeling. I brought in for checkup mechanic told me nothing was wrong with it. I went to different bike shop and they immediately noticed the issue and fixed it. Now it rolls just as it should. Now the bike bearing seems damaged due to not having it adjusted out of the box and not adjusted by the mechanic. The reason why I am not going back for repair is because of their carelessness after sales attitude. Plus, I know for a fact that I am gonna have to convince them that the shop messed up the bearing. It will also take very long time for them to get the parts and wait couple month for it. If you want specialized bike, buy it from the local shop you can trust. Have it shipped to them. The shop will not bother with you after making their sales. read more

Crazy slow service for the bike they had as part of a warranty repair for one week. The person at the front became super annoyed with me because I kept asking for the old parts back and buying things totaling $500. The bike work was not great, and the rear derailleur, bar tape, bottle bolts, and brake alignment were poorly done. This was my only time getting work done here and I won't be back. Well worth the trek over the hill (pun intended). I'm from the San Fernando Valley and ride a Trek but am fond of Specialized equipment and clothing. I was looking for a new wind vest and found one I liked online. I did not want to wait for the vest to be shipped to me so I checked local stores in the area and found this one. I was hesitant because I don't like driving in traffic but that was the only time I was free to go. When I arrived, I was happy to find that they had a large parking lot and parking was easy. When I walked into the store, I was immediately greeted by Shon. Shon took me to the item I was looking for and guided me to the dressing room. The vest fit perfectly and was exactly what I was looking for. I love the quality of their gear. Went in for new tires. Guy asked me "Do you want me to throw them on your bike for you?" I say "Sure." Didn't realize they were going to bill me for that service. It was definitely pitched as "we can just do this for you," not "do you want to pay for this service." I'm fully capable of mounting a clincher on my own. I don't remember how much they charged for it, but it was absolutely not worth the money. Now they send out marketing emails with the unsubscribe link colored to almost completely blend into the background. The bikes are good. The shop is skeezy. read more

He steered me in the right direction as far as fit,size, tire options, and gave me a break down on how to operate and use the turbo functions. After branndon set me up with a test ride i knew i wanted the bike. He then helped me with upgrading the software to tune the bike to optimum performance. I've been coming to Cynergy for many years, at least since 2008. I have probably stepped foot inside this store over 60 times in that period. I've been there shopping for bikes many times, repair, helmets, road shoes, inserts, clothes, sales, accessories, general advice, fitting advice, warranty matters, and seminars. Sometimes I just stop in to browse and see what's new. I own a Specialized bike--fits me perfectly and rides like a dream. Just picked up some incredible Specialized Pro Road Shoes--feels like you have slippers on--my flat as a pancake feet love the internal support. Have a Specialized Helmet--the best fit of any helmet for my funky head, and I have tried them all. Specialized products cannot really be compared to other brands--they are really in a class by themselves for better or worse--they are cutting edge. They are different. They work for you or they don't, and if they do--you are golden. One time I was not in the mood to change a flat on one of my Specialized tires, was leaving the next day for a ride, and came in to pay them to do it and when they looked at the tire noticed a subtle defect in the sidewall unrelated to the puncture area, and they replaced the tire under warranty, no charge, I just paid for the new tube and tube labor. I will never forget that great service. I can guarantee you that if I went anywhere else for a tube change, they would never have noticed any problem with that tire--I didn't, and I ride, tune, and inspect by bikes constantly. Sometimes you get the best advice and help here, and other times you can be completely ignored. Times I needed help and was not getting it--I left and came back another time and it felt like I entered a new store. There are times that I just wanted to look around and not talk to anyone, and I ended up in a 1 hour bike talk conversation with some of the old timers behind the counter--I was one of the few customers in the store at that time. If you want attention, best time to visit is during the week M to Th. There definitely can be LA attitude here sometimes, which I don't particularly care for--this is Santa Monica, exclusive territory rights to hot Specialized Branding, in an affluent area--that's what going to happen. Picture walking into a Ferrari Dealership. You can avoid a lot of this during non-busy times and get that attention. As you can imagine, everyone and their grandma is here on Sat and Sunday--and help time will be limited. Picture 7 PM at Mastros in Beverly Hills on a Saturday Night and you want a table stat! without a reservation. The old timers here know their Specialized stuff--they are closely aligned with the Corporate Headquarters in Northern Cali. I have even met some of the Specialized execs at Cynergy as well as Mr. Andy Pruitt, Mr. BG Fit himself. Last I just want to say a word about Specialized Pre-Talc Lightweight Road Tubes. They are expensive for a tube, but probably the finest tubes manufactured. They are also in a class by themselves. Been using them for years in all my road bikes and I have only had 1 blowout, and it was not until I got back to the car that it went flat amazingly--maybe I am not riding hard enough? read more

He tells anybody that will listen, Specialized Santa Monica is not only the best bike shop on the Westside, it's the best bike shop in the whole city. After going through the sizing video guide on Specialized's website, the website determined I needed a 130mm saddle. The only 130mm saddle on the website was a Sitero, so I ordered the Sitero Plus thinking that the extra padding would help on long rides. After riding on a bike path for approximately 20 miles, I was sore from my thighs rubbing up against the saddle and having to adjust my pedaling motion to avoid the rub. I didn't want to go through the trouble of ordering multiple saddles and returning them via FedEx so I visited this store and was helped by two employees. The first one measured my sit bones and informed me that the saddle I chose was for a totally different type of riding (time trial). The sit bone measuring device suggested 168 at first, but I happened to notice him measuring the outside of my butt impressions. I asked another employee (Sean, according to my receipt) to verify and he measured the middle portion where the imprint was deepest and determined that I'm actually a 155 for their saddles. Although my group and I took up a good chunk of Sean's time, he remained professional, personable, and very chill. Also, for those that are wondering, they do not accept returns for orders made on the Specialized.com website. No big deal since Specialized provides a FedEx return label for you. read more

( I had to go in to show them what I was talking about) a D then they ordered me the wrong part. Come on. You work at a bike store!! After a 14000 dollar purchase would would think I would get a call to see how everything is and they do NOT even offer 1 free tune up.. You have definitely lost my business. I bought my new bike six weeks ago a 2022 Levo, love it. Already put on 900 miles! Had to go back to the shop a couple of times for some minor adjustments, the boys took care of me instantly. The bike is amazing , generation three is a huge improvement over generation two. 2019-2021. The bike does everything better I was really surprised, and not being an expert rider I wasn't sure if I would really notice a difference compared to my 2019 Levo expert that I loved. The 2022 is more stable because of the longer front end, turns really quick on hairpins, because of the smaller back tire, really steps don't feel as steep anymore so not as scary! Love the bike and it really helped me improve to the next level.
