Specialty builders! Let me tell you about Specialty builders. I highly, highly would NOT recommend them to anyone, not even my worst enemy. This company is a bunch of scam artists and liars. I had used this company to pour me a concrete foundation for a 30'x40' metal building that I had purchased. On day one, they had came to my home so we could go over what i was looking to do, but I am a new home owner and did not have very much knowledge on exactly how to permit the foundation legally on my own, and asked them if they can do that part for me too, they had said "yes we can get the permits for you". I also had given them a copy of the building plans which had the concrete plans. Within 3 days, the concrete was poured, during this time I was out of town for week. When I had asked where are the permits they had told me "we don't get permits" we had a verbal agreement on them permitting it. They also neglected to pour the foundation where i had specified from the property line, and they were off by 4 feet on one side and 7 feet off on the other! Not only did they pour the foundation illegally to where it's garbage and unusable, they shorted the footing by 6 inches with the depth. When I had called and complained about everything that I had happened, they said they can't do anything about it. Since July of 2024, I've had an engineer out to survey the foundation to see if there's any other options for fixing this situation. The professional said it must be demolished. Now I am out $25,000 plus interest on the financing, and I have to demolish this entire foundation. 0 star rating read more

We have a two story home with a vaulted ceiling that we had Specialty Builders paint the interior walls and ceiling. The painters did a great job taking down the pictures on the walls and moving the furniture enabling them to do an excellent job of painting the interior of the house. They also helped to put back up the heavy pictures, mirrors back on the wall and heavy items back on the ledges. Next we had Specialty carpet our house. The carpet guys did a great job of moving the furniture around enabling them to do an excellent job of carpeting the house. Everything was done in a professional manner, the painters and the carpet guys were hard working and friendly. I would highly recommend Specialty Builders. read more

I am completely baffled as to how this company has ANY good reviews at all!!! Are you kidding me? If this company shows up to your door, make sure they supply you with a Costco size jar of Vaseline!!! This will prepare you for what will happen once they start the work!!! They will lie to you about the financing, they will use sub-contractors (who are all very nice and work hard but paid the cheapest amount possible). I feel bad because the people that actually do the work are being taken advantage of as much as the customers. This contractor does nothing but LIE!!! They are NOT Skilled labor; they are just low-life SCAM Artist. They don't do the work themselves; they just tell you all kinds of garbage and lies pretending they know anything about this construction business. You would be better off believing those scam artist idiots on Facebook that try to like your post and get you to friend them. LMBO!!! Once the work is done then the financing SCAM starts. They will tell you this loan is not going against your home, you can have the loan at a LOW COST with a LOW interest rate, blah blah blah. The payment is not what they tell you it will be. The "12 months no interest is a LIE!!!" The payment will be 3 to 4 times the amount that they tell you it will be. The loan ends up being an interest-bearing loan that shows up on your credit report as a mortgage loan. OMG are you kidding me. I'll bet you, that all these GREAT Reviews, that 90% of them are all FAKE!!! SCAM ARTIST!!! that is all this company has!! Please do yourself a favor and Hire ANYONE!!! other than this company. The fact that this company paid to delete my review after they tried to schedule multiple appointments with me after I saw through their predatory business tactics says everything you need to know about how they are snake oil salesmen. Salesman came door to door which was red flag #1. Any construction company that comes door to door is preying on finding people who either don't do their own research or are just going to be trapped into a meeting with someone who won't take no for an answer. This is a common tactic with window salesmen, and more recently, solar companies. It's great to see Specialty Builders still thinks this approach works in the 2000s but they must be finding enough people to prey on if they are continuing to do it. After I scheduled an appointment just to make the sales guy go away, I subsequently flaked on the appointment. I received calls on an almost daily basis for 2-3 weeks after this, which again, why? If your business is so successful and you're doing so much amazing work elsewhere, why are you going so aggressively after any lead you get? Why not call and leave a voicemail and leave it in the customers hand instead of looking desperate? Would give 0 stars if I could based on their predatory tactics. Their other reviews show their workmanship and pricing to be just as questionable. Avoid at all costs and use apps like Thumbtack or Angie's List to find local contractors read more

We had a kitchen remodel done, the actual work itself turned out good. There were some minor touch ups that needed to be done but they got taken care of after the final inspection. The only problem we had was the lack of communication and time line. The project took much longer than expected. Many days you are left waiting for people to show up and they don't or they show up when you aren't expecting them. The communication definitely needs to be worked on all around. We were offered an apology for the lack of communication but that doesn't make up for the frustration and time wasted. However I hope they learn from their mistakes moving forward with future customers. read more

BEWARE, BEWARE, DO NOT HIRE THESE CHEATS! I hired them to do one simple job at my home in Fontana. I needed my old, plywood sided chimney, that was leaky to be fixed. The arrangement was to do the job up to code, using stucco, lathe, and new flashing. When my wife and I had the initial meeting with the man who sold us the contract(Noah), he assured us it was an easy job, and no permit was needed. We believed him as we're not contractors. They came, started the job, and right away I had issues with one of his workers blocking my driveway with his work van, and refusing to get off my roof to move it so I could get to work. It took me yelling at the guy, and telling him to get off my property in order for him to move his van. After that got settled with the lead guy Noah I thought things were going smoothly. After they put the 3rd coat of stucco I went up to inspect the work myself and right away saw it was wrong. The stucco went all the way down to the roof shingles, and they just cemented over the old flashing(which was cause of leak), and didn't put any new flashing. I caught this mistake right before he told me they where almost done, and just needed to paint. It had rained the night prior, and was still leaking, this is what prompted my inspection. I tried to part ways after this, as I no longer trusted their work, or word because as it turned out they DID need to pull permit from the start, which they didn't. I was met with threats to put contractor liens on my property, and text messages to my wife saying we are responsible for paying HIS employees for the work they did without permit, or proper procedures. In order to part ways with them I had to contact Fontana city, they came out and put a stop job on his work. I also reported him to the California State Contractors Licensing Board. Finally I was able to get them out of my hair. In the proceeding months the license board sent letters out to both of us, and contact via phone in hopes to reach a settlement so they didn't have to investigate further. We agreed that they would send me my $550 deposit back, as I didn't want the trouble of dealing with state or this company anymore. I still have not gotten my money back to this day. Just one more thing to add, the gentleman, Noah who sold the contract is not even on this company's contractor license, which is a requirement under California law in order for someone to come to your house, and sell you a contract to do work. They lied from the start, and abused our trust. As a homeowner I sincerely hope others read this and WATCH OUT FOR THESE HUSTLERS. They will sell you a contract with an unlicensed contractor, they will do jobs without permit when permit is required, there workers are rude, they will threaten you with liens when having issues, and they won't return your money even after they tell the state board they are going to. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the work completed. I had hired specialty builders to do pavers on my driveway. The work was extremely quick and efficient. David (Omer) and his team did a fantastic job. David was quick to answer all my calls and questions. His team happened to cap the wrong section on my sprinklers which caused the system to fail. David was quick to ensure that the system was repaired to my satisfaction. My only true complaint is their financing solicitation. Specialty builders use Upgrade as their financiers but fail to tell the customer that you're essentially taking an home equity line of credit. I believed I was financing a job for $12500. When I went to review the loan documents, it indicated that the loan amount was for $50,000. When I went to discuss the matter with David and his team, they diverted the matter to their finance lender's Upgrade. When I took the matter up with Upgrade, they praised the $50,000 as a great thing and that I'm free to pay it off early or at my discretion. This is the only part that had me spooked about the services. I luckily had alternate methods to pay for the job. David and his team made every effort to make sure that I was extremely satisfied with the services rendered. Every phone call was answered and complications were quickly remedied. read more
