This is probably the worst internet service company I've had to deal with. I live in New York City fyi. For starters, my bill began at around $60 per month, and over time it increased to about $130. Spectrum Phone Call is on my calendar every May. It was in 2023 they turned off my Time Warner cable box and said I had to switch to a Spectrum package. That first year it was $165 a month then the next year $185 and in May 2025 it was going up to $245 a month for cable and internet. It's a bunch of channels and apps I don't use and high speed internet like I'm gaming. The first representative made my head spin. After 26 minutes I said leave it as is for now. I needed to think. Then I remembered I was just going to cancel my cable if they wouldn't give me basic. So I called back to cancel and a much nicer service representative searched for a plan with better promotions and less bells and whistles. Another 34 minutes on the phone. I'm exhausted. Bottom line is for now I'm going to pay $146 a month for cable and internet. When I return the cable box and stream to my television I'll save another $15 and tax. I'm sure not forgetting that if I keep seeing my bill increase I'm going into the store and cancel the cable. They won't want me going off in the store when they get on my last nerve! For a few weeks, our telephone land line did not work. Spectrum resolved the issues. However, my wife and I decided that we would cancel the line. On contracting the company, the agent offered a special: transfer the land line and phone number to a cell phone and reduce monthly costs about $60. I accepted the offer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we tried to activate, the agent could not find the account number, and referred us back to the land line department. The land line folks tell us that we have to restore the land line to be able to transfer to the mobile department[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. And, of course, we are told the phone would be added to the current bill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It appears that the 'left hand' does not know what the 'right hand' is doing. And now all we have is a non-working cell phone and phone number! The company needs to figure out how to resolve this issue and let us know[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We were having signal issues Sunday evening and went on line to schedule service. A technician, Daniel, was at our apartment with the hour. He was professional and courteous. He tried a few different repairs and each time updated or replaced equipment. After each fix he waited in his truck to ensure we had no further issues. I have had spectrum service since April of this year prior to this class I had absolutely no knowledge of circuits sources conductors loads and GFCI's! The space that's allocated for the router modem and plugs isn't effectively or efficiently made to properly plug in either of the devices!!! Customer service has always been helpful until recently when I tried to discontinue my TV service. Talk about a run-around! Can't discontinue this service online and when I called, I was informed that I'd have to be transferred to another department where there was a 45-minute wait for my call to be answered and NO, they can't take my number and call me back. I was also told that my bill would remain in full until the end of the billing cycle. Fast forward to the end of the billing cycle. I went to the Spectrum store in Astoria and was given a new rate and upgraded the Wi-Fi. At no time did any of the associates that assisted me say I'd have to return my modem (which was just upgraded a month ago) and pick up a new one. I've been with Spectrum for at least 4 years in my small workspace. I only need WiFi to email, research the web and send high res files. The service in the past two years has been spotty, on and off...usually rectified with a call to tech, who are very helpful. Two months ago, service was out, and I was informed that the modem and router had to be replaced, Cool. It was 2PM, and a technician in the area would arrive between 4PM and 6PM, Amazing. The arrival time kept extending and I waited until 830, until they told me 9:30PM. No apologies just a notice that the appointment was cancelled. I finally spoke with a live representative today to cancel and naturally she attempted to persuade me to not cancel with a better deal but I said politely, please, I just want to cancel, I am busy with work and don't have the time.
