I haven't reviewed a cell phone store in the past because it's underwhelming. This wasn't my experience on switching from my old carrier and getting new phones for myself and family. Karan helped me with the best plan and all the rebates. Their services have continued even after all the help months later with any little issues either in person or calling them on the phone. When you are ready for a phone or new service Verizon Store on 23rd Street between 7th and 8th Ave is a must for great service now and after you for personal help when you ready for Verizon service. When I came to this store last summer with the intention of replacing my broken phone with a refurbished one, Vic assured me that I could get a brand-new iPhone for free. Upon me telling him that I might be leaving NY, he said that as long as I'd remain in the city for at least half a year longer, there wouldn't be a problem. When I pressed him on the validity of his promise, mentioning the possibility that he might no longer be working at the store when I'd move, he got offended. So I went with the deal: new iPhone for free, stay at least half a year longer in NY. When I moved to Amsterdam eight months later, I was presented with a bill of more than $600. I called Vic, I wrote to Vic, I did so again and again. He totally strung me along for more than 20 messages and now he's stopped responding. The least he could have done is own up to having made a promise he couldn't make. I'm giving two stars rather than one because Vic did retrieve info from my broken phone and gave me discounts when I was still in NY, but he evidently cannot be trusted. read more

Came in with a faulty SIM card (which apparently seems to be a problem with the iPhone 13's) and the store representative (I wish I got his name because he was lovely) knew exactly what the issue was and how to resolve it in a matter of minutes. It was a really bad experience. When I went to this place to back up data, they took my phone to the back and operated it. Without my consent, they changed the original back shell of the phone without telling me. After a few days, I went to Apple Store, just known the back of my phone not the original one any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got Vic's name 10 years ago from a trusted business partner, who got it from another trusted friend. Since then he has been our company's MVP for phones. Good luck finding a go-to guy through Verizon's corporate structure! Vic, as the owner, is literally there for us day and night. I got a new phone here and these guys are a mess, my phone which I traded in with them was never shipped and is now missing (seems illegal?). Vic is rude, terrible customer service and would not fix the issue after I called and spoke with him multiple times while also dealing with Verizon. This is NOT a Verizon store. The signage in-store is misleading and when asked if it's a Verizon store the guys say Yes (illegal?). They can sell you a Verizon phone and add it to your account, but there are extra fees you must pay since they are not an official Verizon store - they don't tell you this either, just wait till you get the Verizon bill. read more

Pretty sure the other 5 stars are either bits or there was a change in management. Here is my experience, you be the judge. The owner yelled at me when I inquired about Verizon FiOS that this is not a fios store and they are completely unrelated. He rolled his eyes, waved his hands in my face and kept his voice raised for three minutes,while I tried to inquire which store in the area would be able to assist. I actually recorded a part of this tirade and will forward to Verizon. He only stopped when another employee interfered. read more

I've been coming here for a few years every time i need anything new for my wireless services. I'm extremely happy with the service that i get here. I came in and was able to speak to a worker immediately. She was super nice and explained everything about Verizon that i was able to choose. She explained the taxes and fees and let me know exactly how much i will be paying and after choosing one of the unlimited plans, we went on to get new phones! That was fun! They had several samples to look at, review and try out in terms of how it feels in the hand, weight etc. They knew everything about every phone they had and yeah...it was good to get that expert knowledge! I came to this store to switch phone services (Metro PCS to Verizon) and get a new phone. Since they didn't have the phone I wanted in stock they said that they would mail it to me, and assured me that it would come by Wednesday, the day after my old service ended. The conversation: Verizon guy: Your phone should get to you by Wednesday, so you'll be without a phone for just a day. Me: One day is fine, but more than that is not fine. Can you guarantee that it will get to me by Wednesday? Verizon guy: Yes, it will definitely come on Wednesday. When it didn't come by Wednesday evening I called them (from someone else's phone, obviously). The phone was there at the store. And I was here, in Boston. Alas, it is Friday, and I am still without a phone. If it was a mistake or a delivery problem that would be one thing, but they were dishonest, and that's why I'm giving them this poopy rating. read more

Buyer beware. This is a very shady business. I bought a new iPhone and Karan set it up fine *but* I left my gold iPhone 10XS with him to send to Verizon for trade-in for what he said was a $439 value and when Verizon only credited me $99 for the trade-in I contacted them and was informed that had received a gray iPhone 8! This was *not* my gold iPhone 10 XS. I contacted Karan & he assured me he sent Verizon my iPhone 10XS and he'd fix it with them. Each time I followed up with Karan he assured me Verizon said they had it, they'd credit me, and when this wasn't happening he started saying they had written up a ticket for it. I insisted Karan give me what info he had and he gave me a ticket #. I called Verizon and learned the ticket # was bogus and they had no record of his calls. This is some scam! I can only guess my old phone was sold in some scheme of theirs and I fear I wasn't the first nor will I be the last this happens to. Do yourself a favor and avoid this store. read more

This is NOT a Verizon store. They can sell you a Verizon phone and add it to your account, but there are extra fees you must pay since they are not an official Verizon store. In order to mail the phone that I just purchased to my mom, I had to pay an extra $350 if I didn't want to activate it right away. I obviously didn't want to cut off my mom's service for a few days while the phone was in the mail. So I asked for a refund and was charged a $35 "restocking fee". This was after I had to wait 5 days for this store to order it from an _actual_ Verizon store, because it was out of stock to begin with. I always continue to go here for all of my new mobile phone and service needs. I find everything that I am looking for in cases, protective screen covers, and mobile accessories. The staff are very helpful and responsive to my needs. They are knowledgeable about the products and services plans. When I have made mobile upgrades or I have had a problem with my phone, they are well-equipped to resolve my issues. In a crisis with my phone, they are very patient and helpful- which is wonderful and means so much. Whenever I have questions, they take time to respond. They are thorough with follow up. I echo the previous 1 star reviews that this is a shady and illegal business. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. I had just bought an iPhone from Apple and came here to get it activated and the person working convinced me to buy the iPhone from him and return the Apple one as it would save me $500+. I asked him if there were any differences between the two iPhones and explicitly told them I was moving to Europe the next day and so I needed this iPhone to work there. The next day a couple hours before my flight I go to check my settings and find out this iPhone is locked. I called this Verizon store back and they assured me they could help me unlock it in a couple of hours. That was Tuesday. It's now been 5 days where I'm calling from Europe to see if they have been able to unlock the iPhone so I can use an international sim. This place is a SCAM!!!!! Yes, Vic is amazing--so is Melissa. I have been a client of Vic's for many years--before this Verizon store was open because I've lived in the neighborhood for so long. After he left his other store many years ago, I followed him to this store to stay a client of his. They are both knowledgeable and he can give you the best deal. My iPhone 6 died, so I upgraded to a new 7 here. I forget the name of the guy who helped me, but he was incredibly thorough, and answered all my numerous questions. Also helped set up a trade-in of my old phone. I saw him deal with a really difficult customer (a cranky old man with a walker who wanted a new flip phone) with kindness and respect. This place will scam you. They charged a five percent fee and claimed it was a Verizon charge for edge service. When I called Verizon I was told it wasn't and another store I went to informed me that it was a store charge. I tried to get my money back but they then claimed there was another reason for the charge and they couldn't do anything about it. Just go to a different store or online. read more

I've been going to One World Wireless for my mobile phone needs for several years now, and I think Vic and his team do a fantastic job of counseling me on both new available smartphones, as well as new Verizon plans. They also do a great job in advising me on what add on accessories and features I should purchase to make my life easier. Vic and his team worked hand in hand to help me upgrade from a Droid 2, to a Samsung Galaxy S3, to now a Samsung Galaxy S5. Along with that, he's counseled me on what Verizon plans best meets my needs, with a goal of also saving me money. Smartphones and carrier plans change very rapidly in the marketplace. and it's hard to keep up with the latest technology advances. After visiting five or so different Verizon, AT&T and Best Buy stores asking various complicated questions about how to replace a destroyed phone and/or get new plans, we finally ended up here to make a final decision.... How fortunate for us that we did! Vic and his team listened to all our complicated questions and came up with a brilliant, multi-faceted solution that will save us a ton of money in the long run - which none of the other stores were able to figure out for us despite our inquiries. They talked us through the best way to get two new phones at a discounted rate despite being bound to frustratingly limited contracts, and even waived some of the fees to help us out more! Everyone here is ridiculously nice and friendly and totally helpful. It sounds silly to say, but no matter how sad you are about your lost or broken phone, you kind of cheer up as soon as you walk in. I had a very unpleasant experience at the store where the manager Vic- just accused me of trying to scam the store. And spoke to me as if I was an idiot, which I doubt he would have done to a man. I bought an phones a few months ago and within the first week I had to take it to the real Verizon store for service-- there was a defect in the phone--so.... I also told my salesperson I was a phone dropper and that the most important thing for me in a case was security from drops. I've had iPhones for years and always had an otterbox- the salesperson told me I didn't need an otter box. He told me to buy the extra shatterproof glass- which he assured me-over and over again-would protect it. And then sold me some case with a flap that he also said would protect it--Well, he was wrong-- and the very first time I dropped the phone-- which was inevitable as I told them..the shatterproof glass got giant cracks in it. And the case cracked-that protective case he sold me.. and after another drop-also inevitable as I told them--the actual screen is cracked was NOT protected by the protection glass they sold me .... AND since I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE PHONE--as DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE....Verizon will not replace it unless I pay to have the screen fixed.. on a defective phone. What I find most upsetting- besides the salesperson giving very bad advice- and telling me the glass wouldn't crack... Now they are saying well.. it depends on how you drop it.. UMM-im not stupid.. i have been dropping iPhones for years and never cracked one- in my other cases..they wanted to sell the glass- which is not worth it . And their phones are of questionable integrity-- When I spoke to the salesperson at the Corporate store she told me they would never have recommended that case to someone who admits they drop phones... they either don't care or don't know what they are talking about AND accused me of trying to scam the store-- when in reality... they are trying to sell the add-ons and then when a customer complains-- balme thecustoer Vic actually said to me that I just wanted to blame the store-- "if the dog chewed my charger I would say it was the store's fault" TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE- offered nothing to accommodate me and insulted me in a very chauvinistic way and then accused me of trying to rip him off THERE ARE MANY OTHER PLACES TO SHOP- GO TO VERIZON CORPORATE STORE- they are accountable people like this- are not read more

I can't speak for other plans, but DO NOT buy a prepaid Verizon phone from this establishment. My phone died while I was on vacation in NYC and I needed an immediate replacement. This Verizon store was close to my hotel and they had only one prepaid smart phone in stock, which I purchased for $100. On arriving home I found that the phone is discontinued and sells for about $39. I discovered after 3 wks use, that the speaker phone cuts out, echoes, and eventually drops calls but works fine in normal mode. I called One World Wireless to report this problem and was told there is no warranty on prepaid products. I usually buy my cell phones from Best Buy, which does warranty their prepaid Verizon phones. Verizon will warranty their phones only if purchased from their corporate store, so beware when buying phones from a franchisee. I gave them 2 stars instead of one because the salesperson was very kind and helpful. I understand that it is not her fault that the store policy does not provide support of any kind for prepaid phones. read more
