Spectrum has a nice clean store at this Stockdale Highway location. Staff member who assisted us was kind and helpful as well. Wait time was a bit long even though there weren't many customers the time we were there. Situation was resolved albeit not to our full satisfaction. Oh well. Moved from ComCast to Spectrum and it was like going from today's technology to the 1980's! I can't adjust closed caption or anything else while watching on demand, I have to go back to live tv to change them. The first 4 weeks the record button was not available after searching for a show but it appeared this week. If that is a step forward, they have miles to go. I can not use their app to find devices and disconnect them from my home network. This is very helpful and should be added (like ComCast). read more

When it comes to internet services, I have found Spectrum to be one of the crapiest companies in the central valley. They are frequently having outages, the outages range anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, and on the few occasions their services are uninterrupted, the speed can be extremely slow. I have their top tier package along with brand new equipment, so there shouldn't be any excuses! Furthermore, if you work from home and quality Internet is a must, be prepared for these challenges. If you have the option of using another company, I would definitely recommend trying them prior to wasting your time, money and sanity with Spectrum. Additionally, the low prices that they advertised are only available for new customers and after that first year, you too will be paying the higher prices for subpar quality. It's not until you threaten to discontinue services that they magically offer a lower monthly premium. Please be aware and best of luck! read more

If you are looking for a sign to switch to Spectrum, this is NOT it. The price for wi-fi is pretty low initially, but it does go up monthly. The service is TERRIBLE. I have to reboot my router almost every morning to get my devices to connect. I have explained this to the reps and they just tell me to reboot... It should not be a daily occurrence. Also, they seem to have whole area outages more frequently than what is reasonable. When its up and working, its good, but its just not worth it for the price. read more

I just cancelled after 10 years. It was once pretty reliable, but more and more frequent area-wide outages. It seems every few weeks my kids are asking me why the internet is out and it just got to a point where they don't even ask anymore because they assume it's one of those 5-10 minute outages we get every so often. The big long hour plus outages are still pretty rare. I paid for 500mbs service and got ~325-350 pretty consistently. It was really fast for the first month or two after I got it and then settled into the 325-350. When I'd call about the speeds they would say it shouldn't be that way, but weren't able to help. When I finally called to cancel, they got serious about looking into it, but. by then it was too late. Oh, and they bill you in advance, but if you cancel mid way through your billing cycle, they won't refund you the unused portion (even though you have to turn in your equipment prior to the end of the cycle) ... that's shady stuff. I am lucky that I have alternatives, I know people whose only option is Spectrum and they're stuck. read more

My cable box crashed out in my shop an hour before kickoff, panic !!. I called spectrum for advice a helpful technician in Texas recommended switching out box. Looked up the closest location, perfect 2.3 miles away, I was on my way. I arrived at the Riverlakes location parking was convenient, both workers were assisting other customers as is signed in. Seating was comfortable store was neat a clean with lots to look at but I just required a new box so I stayed seated. Daniel called my name after only 5 minutes, I explained what happened. he pulled up my account, I showed my ID he had my new box in no time. Daniel was friendly and sharp he reviewed my account made a couple recommendations on lowering our monthly bill that I appreciated. I was back home in 25 minutes with plenty of time before kickoff. Great customer service!! I had to go in to turn in to return equipment. While I was in there I explained to the guy that my bill is ridiculous an the customer service on the phone said they can't get me a better deal. He said let me see what I can do . Keep in mind my bill monthly was $208.54 After turning the equipment in it brought down to 189.04. Then he did his magic an it brought my bill down to $136.89 I still have the same Chanel's an only difference my speed of internet. Thank you to the gentleman that help me . read more

How can we even function Spectrum! Ever since you came in to my life, I feel like I'm doomed. Internet is always dropping and this past week, it went down for more than 3hrs twice. I work at home, so this affects me badly. Spectrum is super unreliable and I would not recommend it. It's hard choosing where to get your internet from because there's not a lot of competitors in Bakersfield, so you're pretty much doomed whether you go or stay. We don't have a choice so I guess for now we will deal w the nuisance that spectrum puts us through on a daily. You're a company that knows about the internet but can't seem to keep it together in that area of expertise. Any time your service goes down, you should be offering discounts or lower bills because you're delaying us from functioning with our work and everyday life. I wonder if we can do a petition because there's no accountability on spectrums side. PS your reps from customer service doesn't even know how to function too. Maybe training them during your "no internet" days would be great. read more

I can't get any of my spectrum channels and get an XLTP- 4001 ERROR. Of course it takes a minute or two to get the darn thing to come up with the error message after the dots move around very slowly for a while. I hate to call them, it's like scratching my eyeballs out. Does it really take yelling to get to a representative last Friday I had to call 15 times because every time they would switch me to representative the call would drop, and then when I did finally get the *$#@! Telephone Robot to get me to account representative, even though it wasn't an option ( I asked for canceling service and then account retention and then I finally got a human being who stayed online with technical support so I got them), after I had rebooted my modem, they rebooted my modem and I lost them. I actually talk to people in 15 different cities. The last person was an idjit, who told me because I had the mesh system she couldn't do any trouble shooting, even though I told her I could hook my TV up with ethernet for only a second. If I had any options for cable TV, I would take them . So I called again today and they told me they're working on it and I asked her if she could help me with anything more that she said no and that was it so it motivates me to post. Does anybody know if yelling at voicemail helps to get a human being? It sort of seems to me it does but I don't know would like to know. read more

Went here to find out why the Internet rate keeps going up. So I went over to the location to speak to the representative. I asked a few times and never got the answer. She keeps telling me to bundle up my services and they will take $10 off. I said as you can see and what I told you all I have is the INTERNET and don't want any additional service from you. Sounds like she was reading off a sales script. Why is the INTERNET going up every MONTH. Again no answer so I'll take it there is something fishy or they are hiding something and they don't send you a letter notifying about the increases. This is a shady cooperation. So I just walked out. I'll find another provider and cancel. This was the birth of the Roadrunner Internet and it was great during the Brighthouse regime. Did the necessary process for this to take place, it was supposed to be a matter of a day or 2 for this transfer to take place and here I am at a month and this transfer has not taken place. Thank you to customer service representative Debbie for all the help she gave me a few days ago and then again today. She was patient, helpful, thoughtful, and went overboard to explain not only the equipment I was picking up but she actually put it together for me and explained how to go home and hook it up. She explained all the billing so I would understand that there's a delay in the system, but then it would all catch up . She offered me other options to reduce my bill. I'm considering switching my cell phone service to spectrum And to top it off, she actually walked me to the door and told me to have a nice day Spectrum is lucky to have her as an employee ! Didn't know this Spectrum office existed til a few weeks ago. There is absolutely NO waiting! And they have very knowledgeable staff!! I walked in without an appointment, was helped by Debbie who solved a couple problems with my phone. She is so nice!! (The rest of the staff there also answered questions- they are very "up" on the inner workings of the mobile devices, etc! February 6, 2025 at 5 PM and he left at 7 PM. Your spectrum service person stole three pair of my $300 shoes from my house and took a number of other things. I wouldn't trust a spectrum service person he was supposed to be putting in my Internet, but he disabled my cameras so that I couldn't play it back and then he stole my shoes. very expensive shoes from my house as I stepped into another room to take a phone call the panel that he was supposed to be working on was in my closet and I left them in my closet Not realizing that he would steal from me. It was an African-American guy and he stole from my house, I would not trust a spectrum service person in my house anymore and I advise you if you do have a service person in your house. Watch him watch him as closely as you can Because this guy it was a common thief and I don't know why spectrum would hire thieves and it's it's a good thing that I didn't catch him, but I didn't know it until he was gone. Went in today to turn in a piece of equipment and was greeted by a RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL male staff member. He refused to look at my husband and wouldn't help him. He Scoffed in my husband's face when he asked the worker to look at him / acknowledge he was talking to him. The worker then pointed across the room and said, You can go over there to get helped. He refused to provide a printout of the devices on file, so we could figure out why/how Spectrum is charging $300 a month for home internet and cable. Spectrum on Stockdale Hwy should be Ashamed of themselves, Embarrassed with the staff they have at this location, and should be ashamed of taking advantage of people! DO BETTER!!! BEWARE. I called to downgrade to just internet and was talked into streaming services. I was told that it would be $157 and I could use the app on any device. Went to go download the app and could not on any of my TVs. After calling back, I was told I could purchase a device for compatibility that was a one time $40 and an extra $10 a month. The agent also informed me that my bill total was not $157, but actually $215. I again asked to go to just internet for the $91.99 I was quoted by two different agents previously. The agent told me that internet only was actually $109.99. I asked to speak with the Supervisor, Devonte, twice and was declined both times. Not a single apology was offered for the misinformation. Nor was my email responded to after being on hold for almost two hours. Terrible customer service. Switched to AT&T while on hold and will be fully cancelling once the new service is installed. Three times the speed with a WiFi extender for less than Spectrums lowest WiFi plan. Don't waste your time or energy with Spectrum. read more

BEWARE! At one point in time, Spectrum used to be BrightHouse in Bakersfield. BrightHouse had a great reputation! I would gladly recommend BrightHouse! Since Spectrum took over, they have horrible customer care, their staff at this location were rude. The customer is NEVER right. IF you have a choice of going anywhere else for Internet access or TV services - you should try elsewhere. Even AT&T- is better than Spectrum. If you already have Spectrum, their Techs are fairly knowledgeable. But be very careful as they have a lot of third-party contractors who work for them that are not as knowledgeable. If they come out in a spectrum vehicle, and have a Spectrum shirt on, you can rest assured that they know what they're talking about. That said, none of their customer service staff in their stores that I have dealt with (so far, 2 stores & 8 personnel- in Bakersfield), are very knowledgeable or polite. read more

Was in the process of switching to Spectrum. Informed the salesman on the phone of the type of phone I had. He said no problem, my data would be able to transfer to the Spectrum phone. Unfortunately, he was wrong. The technician at Spectrum spent over an hour trying. I ended up canceling my order, but was stiffed with a $50 stocking-fee.
