The rate Spectrum offered wasn't even close to what T-Mobile was offering, so he called back to cancel his service. That's when he was transferred to the retention department -- and unfortunately, that experience was awful. The representative was incredibly rude and dismissive toward him. She repeatedly made him feel like he didn't know what he was talking about, and he was getting so frustrated and worked up that I eventually had to take over the call. I ultimately ended the conversation by saying, "We decline the offer." Apparently, those were the magic words, because her entire tone immediately changed and the call was finally able to end. It was completely unnecessary and such a headache. I understand that retention representatives are doing their job, but there is absolutely no reason to treat a customer -- especially an older customer -- like they are incompetent or don't understand their own situation. I'm sharing this because I would hate for someone else to have to go through the same experience just to cancel their service. The actual decision to switch providers was easy; getting Spectrum to let us cancel was the difficult part.

I dropped off my phone, went down the street to wash my car and get a haircut, and by the time I got back--less than an hour later--it was done! Not only did they replace the screen quickly, but they also went the extra mile and cleaned out the charging port and speakers. Super fast, very friendly, and great service overall.
