Recently Bright House updated their system causing several households to be with an incompetent router. We were given no warning, no heads up, nothing. When our internet stopped working with a message stating they recently upgraded our modem, we were confused. We didn't update anything!! We were forced to go to their location and purchase a router and set it up ourselves (as were many others standing in line). As if that's not enough, the cable connection sucks! It sucks on a daily basis!! Cuts out, sound glitches, image skewed, sometimes channels aren't working at this time....worst service ever. Ever since Bright House and Time Warner Cable became Spectrum, my fiance and I have had nothing but bad experiences. We paid 50 dollars a month for supposedly fast internet, yet the internet went out every so often, just long enough to disrupt what you are doing. On top of that, they raised our monthly premium 20 dollars, and when I asked why and if they had anything cheaper, they lied despite me seeing a deal for 45 dollars a month online. Terrible internet, terrible cable equipment, yet that not the worst part. The last I talked to on the phone insisted she uses bright house and they run six or seven items on the wifi at the same time with no slow down. I'm gonna call a big ol BS on that one. We can't even run one. Considering we have the fastest speed available, you'd think it would at least let us browse the net at a brisk pace. Cable freezes all the time and the box/remote has a delayed response so trying to fast forward or rewind is a nightmare. My parent's first VCR had better features. Had a tech come out to fix it, but he was dumber than a box of rocks. Did nothing, but waste our time. At least a box of rocks can be used for something, such as propping a door open. He took down the name and model number of our media player and said he'd talk to his manager and get back to us......still waiting. Needless to say, we will be canceling all services, never to return. One star only because I can't give them less. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service organization I have ever encountered. Schedule appointments, even after being told no one is home, schedule 8AM to 8PM appointments and never show up/call/no followup. Customer Service appears outsourced - replies come in at odd hours. No method to escalate issues and complaints are simply ignored. If you have ANY other options, choose them. I can honestly recommend you select any other carrier before using Bright House. read more

Hi everybody I have internet 100 speed. We upgraded 8/16/2019 to ultra 400 speed new modem and I bought a new router. I ran a speed test with just the new modem speed was 250sh . This is for a Tehachapi apartment complex. They installed and the billing was only supposed to be to the complex, part of our lease, and they also charged us individually, much of the time. Eventually, I called, and they confirmed they weren't supposed to do that. Yet, we never got the money back. The customer service person I talked with said they have a 60-day complaint policy, so I should get back 30 bucks. I asked about previous moneys. Not their policy. And this goes with all the times we've had difficult service. I would never recommend Spectrum. We never trust commercials that say how good companies are. Brighthouse is bad. The dvr boxes, on demand, wifi, installers are a disappointment. If you have their services or products you will have to replace boxes or things will not work altogether. Amongst the numerous issues I've had with Brighthouse the best was when I had to replace a recently installed box after 18 hours. It had quit for no apparent reason and upon returning the dysfunctional product I was given the option of upgrading or getting the same model as the product I was returning. I for one, am tired of watching the Spectrum commercials which air ad nauseam, which tout their superior service and product. The prices advertised are misleading, and the internet and cable services are anything but reliable. We are into the fourth night of the Olympics, and have lost our cable signal two of those nights. Package bundle customer. The Internet is never working. It always cuts off. No wonder they were quick to offer me a 2 year contract and insisted it was cutting off due to "the old package deal i had, it would save me money also..." and would help if i had higher speed and with the new router box upgrade most likely take care of it. I think Spectrum uses unfair business practices! They continue to raise prices and there is nothing you can do to lower your bill so you can make service more affordable, you cannot change or drop a service because no matter what you try to do it raises your price. I am getting close to being unable to afford their services as I am on fixed income. They have a monopoly and they know we have no options available to us. I just wish there was a smart lawyer somewhere who would file a class action lawsuit representing all of the customers who are treated with no respect and are being overcharged for services they do not need nor want! Awful, awful customer service! They took me to the cleaners for $76, when I canceled HBO, making my pmt $185, when it was $107. Called and was told they could do nothing because I am a existing customer! To help, I was offered faster speed on internet for 1 yr free of chg. and a $30, credit for one year. I received neither. I was told my equipment was outdated and due to covid they would not be sending it. Bill continued @ $185. I went with another carrier. Returned all equipment to UPS. Receipt was tracked and everything was received by Spectrum. Closing bill arrives for $199.18!!! Bill states for non returned equipment. I was also charged for a full cycle, not prorated. I was with AT&T for years, and I was paying $49 a month for 50mbps internet. Then I got a letter in the mail that the price was raising to $60. Here's the thing. I make good money and another $10 is not that big of a deal. And honestly, it's expected that the prices are going to rise. However, $60 for 50mbps is kinda insane. I'm humble when it comes to change, but I'm not an idiot. To top that off, the internet was choppy, and often caused me to lose connection during gaming or work production. The price change hammered the last nail in the coffin. I decided to give spectrum a try, knowing full well of their issues. Yes, I know a lot of people have issues with their internet. Yes, I know spectrum spikes their pricing often. But it was worth a try considering that they don't have contracts. And honestly, I'm quite surprised. My internet is much faster. Doing several ACTUAL speed and router tests show that my internet is much faster and far more stable than my internet through AT&T. I did go with the 400mbps plan and I'm getting an average of 370mbps so it's definitely within the margins of expectation. As far as the price goes, I know for at least two years it'll be good. As long as it doesn't end up being so expensive that it doesn't make sense anymore, I think I'm going to stick with it. As far as customer service goes, I have a few people that work for them that can take care of things quickly. Yes, I know it's not fair. No, it doesn't matter. Anyway, for the price and the service I have received this far, I can't complain. Everything is working much better than it used to. read more

But recently had to add cable . Yesterday they Shut my WiFi services in fact completely shut my account down . I made a payment on Dec 30th they told me I had until the 19th to pay my remainder of 99.00 . The 14th they shut me off I called the technician said I owed 44.00 and do not know why they shit me off . I talked to another technician later that evening he also said that sales was closed and did not know why they shut my service account off Now I owe 198 and a service charge to get new internet services read more

Really disappointed. I was moved over from brighthouse. I've had the same service for five years, and now, all of a sudden, new customers are paying $10 less than me, for 4x the speed. Yes, that's correct, 4x the speed of my current internet service. Wheres the appreciation for loyal customers. When I called, all they wanted to do was make me pay more to "upgrade" (it's not really an upgrade to just be brought up to standard.) Cancelled service after bill more than doubled. They state employee was supposed to tell me when I signed up that it was a temporary price. I paid bill in full and returned my equipment to California Ave. location and verified while at site I owed nothing and account was closed. Over a year later I start setting calls from collectors for spectrum for $200.00. I call Spectrum and they said I never closed account or returned equipment. They stated they would do investigation and get back to me. Days later I get a call from a Jovani stating I was found correct, and I returned equipment when I said I did and then could not owe for the months they stated because I didn't even have equipment. I asked for a letter stating this. She said they could not provide such a letter because it was against rules. I asked to speak to supervisor, She stated they would call me back. 2 days later I get a call from "Christopher" stating he is a manager and he is calling me back on my request, but wants to also inform me that I do again owe the money and they have now found I did not return the equipment until months after I returned it. He also states I didn't close account when I said I did. This company is a FRAUD! They lie and manipulate people into paying money they don't owe. When you don't pay they send you to harassing collectors. I am currently looking for an attorney to fight this. read more

There is one Spectrum office in Bakersfield. Are you kidding me? I live in Tehachapi and had to make a trip to this location to return equipment belonging to my mother-in-law after she passed away. Nobody would pick it up and I couldn't just drop it off. Had to take a number when there was 30 people already in line. One customer service rep was all that was there and there were 30-40 people waiting at all times for the duration of the time I was there. If there was another cable company in my area, and hopefully there will be soon, I will leave this company in a heart beat. read more
