Upon me telling him that I might be leaving NY, he said that as long as I'd remain in the city for at least half a year longer, there wouldn't be a problem. When I pressed him on the validity of his promise, mentioning the possibility that he might no longer be working at the store when I'd move, he got offended. So I went with the deal: new iPhone for free, stay at least half a year longer in NY. When I moved to Amsterdam eight months later, I was presented with a bill of more than $600. I called Vic, I wrote to Vic, I did so again and again. He totally strung me along for more than 20 messages and now he's stopped responding. The least he could have done is own up to having made a promise he couldn't make. I'm giving two stars rather than one because Vic did retrieve info from my broken phone and gave me discounts when I was still in NY, but he evidently cannot be trusted.

Still I get a tiny discount because the account is in my daughter's name and mine and her employer gets her a Verizon discount of $5 off the phone line! Three stars.

When I called to follow up on the missed appointment, they rescheduled for another time. They didn't show up to that either. Two cable boxes with remotes and Verizon file slung over my shoulder and off I went to Fresh Pond Road, customer service says they're open, "what better a way to spend my intended relaxed Sunday morning" I thought. A few giddy customers played with buttons on newly displayed pads and phones and their eyes sparkled with desires, allowing me immediate assistance from the best customer service representative I've yet to encounter. The boxes were set upon the far table, Jessica looked them over, scanned something somewhere and had instantaneously retrieved my information. One coaxial box, and a digital (and optical) outputs, no more component out finally doing away with that antiquated technology and new remotes. Gently placed in a snazzy black Verizon cloth bag, all hardware was no charge and I never had to ramble on about my account numbers or and questions that are mundane, draining and wasteful when in some customer service situations. I was out the door with all of my questions answered, new equipment and a far better attitude than I walked in with all due to Jessica's attention to my needs, ability to troubleshoot the issue and send me on my way so very satisfied.

The employee that assisted me during COVID Shelter in Place still works here on Tuesdays and Saturdays. I told him my experience at the Verizon Store on 86th Street this week. He said they hear that about them a lot! Last night when I received a email from Verizon about a change to my account I realized something. If the employee at the 86th Street location had looked up my current plan I may have been entitled to a discount through my daughter's employer. The account has always been in her name and I am an authorized family member. Well I certainly learned a lesson. I have no regrets. BUT you can be sure if I need another phone I will come here first!!
