I can say that i'm one of the sooo unlucky customers that came to this place. Had the AC fix with the issue of blowing hot and cold air went there twice and never fixed the issue spend $900.00 to replace 2 parts ome is the fan and AC leaked line which i don't the problem is because when i checked my freon it is always full so it means there's no leak going on my car and still didn't fixed the issue . The shop texted me and asked how did their service went and told them the problem on my vehicle is still the same texted me back but never offered me anything to fix the problem so now i have to spent more since i don't have a choice my AC still has to be fix but a BETTER SHOP this time. read more

The car had failed emissions test, and we hired Spectrum initially just to diagnose. While an unscrupulous shop might have wanted to replace expensive parts, Spectrum found the cause to be the inexpensive gas tank cap. The diagnosis fee ended up lower than the initial estimate, and the total charge including the new gas cap was also lower than expected. The car passed reinspection, so the cap was indeed the cause of the problem. read more

I was told over the phone that the diagnostic fee would be $65. So I told my daughter to take her car there because her check engine light was on and it was making a noise. They charged her 2 diagnostic fees because they said it was 2 separate issues. Trustworthy and fair priced! I had been to this location previously and was unsure. However, I decided to try again and I am glad I did. It has new ownership and they are working hard to build a respectable business. I went here for a second opinion on work my car needed. The previous place stated I needed a ton of work and had a high price. The guys here were able to show me what actually needed to be done (which is half of what I was previously told) and gave me a fair price. I then took it to a third place to an opinion and they agreed with Spectrum on what work needed to be done but had a higher price. I returned to Spectrum to complete the work and was very happy with my service and care. I have young toddlers and they went out of their way to accommodate my schedule and my crazy kids to get the work needed. I cannot say enough great things about this place. After going to multiple shops & getting quotes for my vehicle around $1,500 I checked here at Spectrum Car Care Center and was lucky enough to work with Michael who told me all my vehicle needed was TIRES!!!!!! (They don't even do tires at Spectrum, so Michael didn't even get paid to look at my car or make it worth his time.. but he was HONEST!) Having relocated to AZ from the Midwest several years ago, one of the tougher services to find is a trustworthy and reasonably-priced auto mechanic. And, as a decades-long gearhead, this is not an easy task... I found this place a few years ago. Right from the jump, Spectrum went above & beyond to show they cared. They listen, ask questions, and set reasonable expectations. They've always kept in touch, contacting me at work with status updates. This is not always typical with other repair shops. Believe me. Working the front desk, Spike has always shown experience, thoughtfulness and honesty, explaining the repair(s) as well as the technical processes, if you indeed care to know them (which all "car guys" like me do). The owner, Christian, has even gone out of his way to taxi me to my Gilbert home to allow me to take care of other responsibilities. His kindness exemplifies a quality Small Business owner who will work with his clientele to earn repeat business. He even adorns his walls with pics of his family dogs within cars. I mean, how cute is that?! These guys have recently extended their availability to Saturdays, which I've come to learn is a big deal in an area where so many Service businesses are closed on the only days so many customers can bring in our vehicles. I had great experiences with Spectrum Car care for my car repairs for the past couple years. Last week I noticed some concerns with the performance of my car and we thought it could be malfunctioning engine or head gaskets and I was expecting and prepared to spend the money to repair it. The team worked to assess the car quickly and called me to keep me informed and ultimately performed several tests and determined the root of the check engine light and it was not an expensive repair. I appreciated their integrity and honesty and reaffirmed why I continue to take my car to be serviced by this team. They are friendly, attentive, responsive, and honest. Christian, I am not trying to be dishonest nor am I trying to hurt anyone, simply sharing my experience. I am not knowledgeable about cars, all I know is the paperwork and quote that Spike gave me at Spectrum was for $1,350, I asked if there were any other options as that price was higher than I hoped for, he said no, this was necessary. I took it to Rob J. the service manager at San Tan Hyundai, they fixed the air like it is brand new, and the charge was $350.00. My review is 100% factual. Maybe your guys made a mistake in diagnosing needed repairs, I don't know, all I know is that I'm glad I got a 2nd opinion and saved $1,000. Please refrain from indicating my review was dishonest or what it was designed to do. I would have expected you would offer to refund the $55.00 you charged me to give me the quote, or at a minimum an apology, but instead I recieved a malicious attack on my character. Disappointed, but moving on, life is too short. read more

Took My care there trying to do the bare minimum. However, they told me everything that needed to happen. At the end of the day it cost some money, but they worked with my warranty company and did so much to my car for a very reasonable price. When I got it back it felt like a new car. They even went above and beyond to fix stuff that other mechanics screwed up. When it was all said and done I went their to fix my AC and was having some problems with my transmission. I also wanted a window fixed. After looking at the car they said my transmission could go out any day. It was good to know because I have a wife and three small kids. I would not want them on the side of the road in the AZ sun. Here is what they did: - New Transmission - New AC Compressor - Cleaned my AC Cabin Filter - Stopped a Huge Oil Leak - A new Axle - Welded Some stuff that made my car drive much tighter in the suspension - Fixed the Window - Fixed a broken door interior panel - New Alternator - New Wiper blades At the end of the day, Spike (the manager) was the most honest and up front guy I have worked with since I used to take my car to a friend back in Florida. I truly felt as though he was looking out for my best interest and not trying get one over on me. I won't take my car anywhere else going forward. Thank you! read more

I found this place on yelp with great reviews, so instead of taking it to another place I found I took it to Spectrum. The people there are very nice. But when I received a call about what was wrong with the vehicle I was very surprised. they told me that I needed new suspension parts and that the bill would be over 2500. I had just had new suspension parts done two years prior . I paid to have it fixed and the day I picked it up I heard a strange new noise coming from the front end. The noise was completely different and new from what had been going on before . I called them back and was asked to bring it in again. After they looked at it a second time, they told me that the new noise had nothing to do with the repairs that they had completed and that they didn't work on the issue if it had anything to do with the drive shaft anyways. They said they did hear it, and then insulted me by saying I basically I thought it was louder than it was because I heard it while I was in my garage, which would make it sound louder than it really was. They also said it was nothing to be concerned with. Weeks later, this noise is still going on and is big seems to be louder and louder the fact that it only happened after I picked up the car from this place and that they claimed to have no knowledge of what it could be or that it came from any work they did is ridiculous and upsetting especially after the amount of money I spent at the shop. I will not be recommending this place as now I have to get this new issue looked at from a dealership. I am afraid that the dealership will tell me that it does have something to do with what spectrum did on my car. read more

My son was in an accident and we needed to get his truck fixed. I sent a request in for a quote and received a response back the same day. Michael Reed was very nice and understanding and explained everything they could do. He found the rear axle we needed, he communicated with me every step. I had the truck towed to their shop, and my son drove home in it and it runs great. No extra fees were added on after the truck came in and they didn't try to sell me something that was not needed. I was staying in the area for a few days and I was calling around to get an estimate of work where I already have the parts and just needed them installed, and I already have a parts warranty. I hate to give a less than stellar review for a place that has all (but not many) good reviews, having not even had any work done on my car, but they INCREASE the labor charges by $20 an hour when you bring in your own parts!! That's potentially a big jump in cost depending on the work needed (which in my case is at least 4 hours of labor). They expect to also make money on the parts. The guy I spoke with used the analogy "If you brought your own steak to a restaurant, they would charge you extra to cook it." Uh, well, using my own real-world analogy, if I go to an oil change place and bring my own oil and filter they don't add $20 an hour to the labor charge: it's the same amount of labor. (Just got one for $20 at a dealership.) While I've never heard of a steak restaurant where you can bring in your own steak, I HAVE been to more than one fresh seafood market that was also a restaurant and they just charged what they figured it cost them to cook and serve the food, they didn't add on charges for you to site at the table, too. ($5 extra for my favorite place, Sea Food Harvest, if you must know!) It doesn't cost MORE money to cook the food you pick!! (Yes, technically they are selling me the food, but they are not conversely charging me extra to NOT cook it, and they have competitive market pricing, so you get it, right?) I get making money, but c'mon... You're already charging a base rate of $110 per hour, which is pretty high. Spare me the lame analogy and just simply state that you prefer to not work with third-party parts (even though you could order these exact same parts yourself). On the plus side, at least they are willing to do the work, but other places I've since called don't charge extra labor to make up for their lack of profits on parts. 3 stars because they are at least willing. read more
