I like Carlife for auto repairs. Jeff and the Staff are great. However I must say that I did not like the service when it came to tires. It took 24 hours for a tire replacement. I purchased the tires from Carlife because of the free rotation every time I got an oil change. When one of my tired blew, Carlife had to order the tire and it didn't come into the shop until the next day. I had to take off work for this inconvenience. I felt obligated because the tires purchased from Carlife were under warranty. In hindsight, had I gone to Discount Tire and purchased the warranty and tires, I would have been on my way in an hour. Tire repairs are simple and should not take 24 hours to repair. Having tires on site would make a difference. read more

I made an appointment online to bring my car in for breaks, an oil change, and a tune up. Got a reminder about my appointment the day before. Showed up (an hour after they opened) and they were closed. I get it. It's the Saturday before Labor Day and they wanted a 3day weekend like most everyone else. A sign or a notice online would have been appreciated though. Even the phones were shut down with no notice of being closed. I don't want to say this is a negative review, I'm told they do really great work at fair prices but I never got a chance to find out and this wasn't the best first impression. I came to this place several times when I had a 1998 Honda Accord because they kept my car running. They had the lowest prices available. It was frustrating working with them because I would get mixed times when my car would be available and how long it actually took to fix certain things. Plus when they replaced my radiator, they ensured me I didn't need new hoses. Two months later, my hoses blew off and my car started smoking. Now that I have a brand new car, I figured that I start off with a brand new perspective and start off with an oil change. I called earlier this week to ensure I didn't need an appointment for Saturday which someone told me over the phone that I didn't need one. I come in early in the morning and I'm told I do need an appointment. There are not a lot of places that will tackle such diversity of automobiles. They are honest and fair, very knowledgable, and most importantly for me - pragmatic. I like to do a lot of the work myself and they don't hesitate to provide information that I need. I had a really good experience at Carlife. My brakes had a loud piercing squeal and I found Carlife on Yelp. I called them first thing in the morning at 7:30AM and dropped it off at 7:45PM. They had a lot of other cars getting serviced, but said that mine would definitely be done by the end of the day. They also have a coupon on their website for 25% off the first hour of labor, a definite help to costly car repairs! The friendly receptionist Lynda drove me home. I spoke to them around 11AM and they told me about my car inspection and sent me a text message with a link to its full report. I told them to go ahead with the service and my car was ready for pickup by 2:15PM. Lynda picked me up again and I was delighted to see my car drive without the high-pitched metal squeals!! The Midas on Power Road told me that my worn shocks and struts were causing the vibration in my steering wheel. I didn't trust their opinion so I decided to get a second opinion. The Yelp reviews were not wrong about this shop! They took me in first thing the day after the 4th. Within two hours they called to report that the only thing wrong with the vehicle was the right front tire was displaced from the wheel. No charge for the inspection either. Clean facility, pleasant staff and most importantly a HONEST corporate culture. I will be back for any repairs in the future. read more

An honest and trustworthy auto repair shop. No seriously... stop laughing, it really is! I had a check engine light and limited performance in my car, I used my code adviser to diagnose the issue and realized that I'd need pro help with this fix. I called several places and most wouldn't even quote me, they said they have to diagnose it themselves and charge me diag time. HELLO, I ALREADY DID THAT!. Anyway Eddie gave me the best quote out of the few places that did give me numbers. I brought my car in and he fixed the issue I diagnosed, while he was in there I had him change my plugs and wires and he also suggested an induction service where he would clean the residue and deposits in my fuel injection system. No hidden costs, all the expenses laid out on the invoice, and no unexpected charges!!! I have never really had an extensive knowledge about cars, nor have I ever had any serious damage to a car I've owned so when I got into a bit of trouble with my car, I went in and talked to the people are Carlife. It was close to my house so I picked it, but for the service I received I would drive as far as I needed to. They were quick and thorough with me, they physically showed me what was wrong with my car, the mechanic that was looking over my car actually gave me a ride home before he did so and the front desk woman was an absolute delight to talk to . I felt no pressure at all while I was in there and enjoyed the experience, which is not something you can say often about a body shop. I will refer all of my business to them from this point forward. I don't look at my self as a super sensitive man I spent 19 years as a local fireman and 6 years and on the local Emergency helicopter as a paramedic. now 3 years on medical disability and have to watch every penny I spend. I was debated even writing a bad review, until my wife said I can't believe how he looked at us like we were criminals I said I would wait until my blood wasn't boiling. so its been 2 weeks and and I can't get his condescending bully attitude out of my mind. this is a edited version from m UN original and just kept what's important to me and my family. And shortened it. I have just moved back to mesa from buckeyes so I called and set up an appointment to get my oil changed and made aware I have a certificate u chose for 3 oil changes as an incentive when I got my windshield replaced. I spoke with Zack he said hmmm IV never heard of it weird but I assured him I have it. The Certificate is Numbered has a authentication fingerprint on it. And no expiration date. To have $99 worth value of 3 oil changes with inspection and tire rotation. When I walked in the door Zack came to the counter finely after standing in the lobby for 15 while he was sitting on a desk talking on the phone when we arrived. no big deal we brought things to keep our 4 year old busy. When Zack came to the counter and found out who I was the caller with the certificate his face changed body language changed. He took the certificate looked at ut while said didn't you get my call? I said no. He said" he called the owner and were not honoring those anymore there like 3 years ago he said it was a promotion their not doing any more. I replied im confused there's no expiration date. He said So were not gonna take it but I can give you a discount if you sill want to get the oil changed. I said but its certified with UN able to finish every time i spoke from then on iwas cut off and bullied. Saying just the word no hacking his head. No with a nasty grin. Then said you didn't pay for it anyway. I said "I did pay for it i could of chose a hotel stay car wash or oil change and I chose the oil change and payed a lot for a new windshield that included 3 oil changes" I knew what I was facing in life with my health surgery and time down not above to drive I just wanted to explain why it took 3 years for me to use it. And there was a reason I chose the package that didn't expire but he gave back the certificate as he said nothing just snickered me with a up yours attitude leaning closer to me over the counter. I asked to speak with the owner and he said No im not gonna do that so we very angry walking out the door I said I would be leaving a review of what happened and he said great ill be look for it. These guys do a great job at alignments... they have the dedicated equipment with lift and associated laser system which has eliminated unnecessary wear on tires of two (2) cars for me... Be smart and get your car aligned by professionals before you ruin a set of expensive tires... I've learned that lesson the hard way. After a personal referral to Jeff and this specific Car Life location from an acquaintance, I came to this place in high confidence that it would be the right choice to get my AC fixed. I spoke to Jeff on the phone, who sounded courteous and professional. Jeff told me I could stop by to get it looked at right away, however he was stepping out for the day but assured me that Eddie would be expecting me and I'd be well taken care of. Eddie also seemed friendly and professional in a business sense and I was beginning to feel positively affirmed I was in the right place. The inspection and quoting was very quick, which I was happy about. The quote was well above what I anticipated from doing some prior research, but that's ok because I am not a mechanic and this place came highly recommended so I figured it had to be fair (plus, Jeff and Eddie seemed like nice honest guys). After receiving the quote, I decided to wait and not go ahead with the repair for the time being, as the price of the repair was 25% of what my vehicle is actually worth, so it was definitely something to take the time to consider. No problem. I was ok with the news and was prepared to leave. It was after I was presented with my keys and my vehicle that the situation ran south. I noticed right as I was getting in that my my car had been returned to me with the interior door handle snapped off. It looked like someone had yanked on it really hard when opening or closing the door, or possibly snapped it with their body weight getting out of the car. I calmly went inside and explained the situation to Eddie, and that this was not the original state of the door handle as presented to them prior to the inspection. Eddie asked the mechanic if they had accidentally done this, which of course they denied that they had. I was told they are not "in the habit of breaking door handles" a few times and that "even assuming it broke in their possession it was probably bound to happen at some point anyway". I was asked what I would like to have done, and I replied " I would like it fixed and returned to me in the same state I brought it here in". Eddie denied any and all responsibility, and offered to quote me on getting that repaired as well. Eddie did have another suggestion- they could glue it so that it "looks" intact if I sell the vehicle, as I mentioned earlier the repair was 1/4 or the car's value. The conversation almost had me feeling that it was being implied I somehow rigged my door intentionally to cause this to happen while they were handling it. I wonder how Eddie would feel if his young daughter or son were faced with the same situation and received this kind of treatment when they are down on their luck, with no AC in 120 degree weather looking for an honest business. I believe that the failure to take accountability for this damage was unethical as a business practice and also disheartening from another human being. I quickly realized nothing would be done and just left. I believe that what you put out there is what you will in turn receive. There is no need for this company to reach out to me with any other resolutions due to this review- I just want to make others aware of my experience here and maybe help them out in their decision making process. Also, please take the time and read some of the other one/two star reviews from other clients, as some of those experiences are truly shocking and really resonate with my treatment here. On a side note, that same day AZ Automasters in Gilbert was able to quote me on the phone at $510 for the same service (nearly $300 less than the $800 quote there at Car Life) specifically to switch out my condenser. read more
