Terrible service. Told them many times when signing up we did not want Spectrum Voice and then when the bill comes around, still got charged. After an hour+ with customer service, they say that they cannot drop it without us having to completely cancel the service and return the modem. They are so shady and greedy. The people are nice, but they can't do anything! Trying to give TWC money and they can't take it! Our rental house was originally a model home and is listed in their system as a business address. You would think it is a simple change to switch it to residential... but no sir, that is in a different system. So I place an order Tuesday and get a confirmation off their agent that it is ordered... had to speak to an agent because the website couldn't take my money. Then Friday arrives, no installation? Where are they? So I ring them... this is when the fun begins. First agent, can't find my order and in the process of placing me on hold hangs up on me. Second agent, finds my order and this is when we discover we are listed in their system as a business address. He tries to get the Business team on the phone and in the process transfers me to the Business call center... who promptly cut me off. Third agent, very nice, hears my explanations and frustrations immediately attempts to change the system herself, can't do that so tries to get Business team on the phone... next I hear "You have reached the Business Team outside of Business Hours!" It is 1pm in the afternoon for crying out loud... wish I could operate my business on those hours.... oh, and I get told to call back later! I had been on this one call for 20 minutes at this stage! Fourth agent, again very nice and tries valantly to calm me down. Immediately tries to get Business team on the phone... then takes me off hold after 10 minutes to say they are trying to reach the "Construction" team? I didn't want anything built! I just want a new service! On hold for another 5 minutes.... then I get told, sorry the Construction team are all out to lunch... come on guys... it is now 2pm... are you out to lunch? or closed for the day? Please figure it out. So now I wait. Here Time Warner, over here! Here it is is, a paying customer wanting to give you money! I sit here stewing in a pool of my own psychic pain. Twc has too few customer service agents, monstrous lines, and no desire to create a process that prevents people from needlessly waiting for incredibly long periods of time to return cable equipment. The few agents that they have are apathetic, overwhelmed and slow- would you like more fidgeting with computers and systems? Occasionally an elderly person will exclaim aloud while wAiting for the second hour to simply Return some device. People wait with children who Are clearly hungry, elderly people sit confused by the ticketing system, obese customers lay in anguish over cushion deprived seats. The feeling here is utterly Soviet in kind and sort. My entire experience- from receiving my devices and using them- to trying to return them- has been marked by pain and horror. I hate this company, this store, all of the devices, their monopoly upon the region, the swollen and apathetic customer service, the inexcusably poor quality of the digital network as well as, sadly, the rabid lifeless decor in this awful waiting room. These guys are the worst. I have never had to deal with a company that can care less about their customers. We moved from Cary to Holly Springs over a week ago and we still cant get them to provide internet service. They have sent out several technicians and construction crews and none of them have been able to resolve a simple issue. It is really sad to see how far this company has fallen. As a returning customer you would think they would want to do everything possible to our business, but that definitely is not the case. Going to try going to another provider that actually cares. We go in to attempt to lower our cable bill. Somehow it had climbed to 199/ month. Way too high for retired folks. They gave us no concessions. We stopped HBO and other premium channels. They girl said she would give us a phone number to talk to someone who could help us further. That number connected us to a sales pitch for medical devise. When my husband said he was not interested and was trying to lower our cable bill several times they finally said try calling this other number which was for Direct TV!!!? After reading so many negative reviews, I was worried about going to the Cary location today to return a cable box and modem. What a pleasant surprise! There were 13 people ahead of me, but my wait was under 25 minutes. The counter was fully staffed and the employees were helpful, friendly, and smiling to all. Second, after quoting me the ridiculous price of $70/mo. for internet only, I said with a laugh, "for internet only? No thanks." He asked me to wait on the line while he tried to get a better price from his manager. Okay, no problem. Commence awkward silence... Apparently, downer dude doesn't know where the hold button is. I hope this place burns down with people inside it. I was supposed to get free cable through my apartment complex. I had to drive all the way out here to get a box. When I got there the guy told me I could take two boxes and it didn't matter. Got a bill from these jagoffs one month later for the extra box. I had to drive all the way back out there just to give them their POS boxes back, which I couldn't even use because they had eliminated all my programming. I asked the guy who was driving a van with the logo what he was doing and he eluded my questions saying he was doing his job and he didn't have to tell me anything. Time Warner Cable promotes their new service" One hour window" but fails. We had Time Warner installed at the end of last month. TWC provided us with a 1 hour window. I called early in the morning and confirmed the time period. I was told the "technician" would call prior to showing up. No advanced phone call 45 minutes into the appointment window, so I called again. TWC CS told me they would look into it. The 1 hour window ended. No phone call back from TWC and no phone call from the installer, so I called back. TWC failed to provide a recovery time. The technician showed up approximately 25 minutes after the window without calling first. The tech left a mess outside of the house. Unfortunately the tech didn't provide a channel guide or any programming information. So we had to guess channel numbers. I spoke with TWC who failed to apologize and neglected to attempt to "make it right" I've heard and read horror stories. If you are reading their reviews so have you. Take it from me do not believe their ads and do not expect customer service. I ordered Roku from Amazon it's great so far. Getting ready to "cut the TWC cord" Update: Months later. After leaving the individual who responded to my post multiple voice messages; still no response from TWC. If I could give them less than one star I would. We asked to move our business line, set up a date to move it, went into our office the next morning and had been disconnected. Customers can't call us, potential employees can't call us and we'd just put out advertising for new hires. They get a message that says that the number is no longer in service. Needed a new remote for our set top cable box as the one we had wasn't working properly. Walked in, there was no line, a lady met me at the front of the store and said: "Can I help you?" I told her what I wanted. She said - "OK I have one right here". (or similar) Then she walked over to a nearby cabinet, pulled out a bran new remote in plastic packaging that came with 2 new batteries and directions and handed it to me. I was back in my car headed home about 5 minutes after I had pulled in the parking lot. No - I am not affiliated with Spectrum/TWC in any way. I'm so surprised at the combination of price, price changes (increases), and the need to provide my own router or pay a monthly rental charge. Then, I find out that buying my own router means that Time Warner won't support it. I'd be fine with a small rental fee on a pay to own type basis, or some other option, but the rate they were charging would allow me to buy my own router in just a few months. On the positive side, I will say once it was installed, the service was solid. Then, after my entry price period ended, they nearly doubled my rate. This review is for Spectrum/Time Warner customer and technical service, not the Cary store location. Have had Time Warner for many years, overall good service...every year you call and negotiate your bill, taking forever on the phone. Now that Spectrum has Time Warner, I decided to give a call and see what I could do about my bill and what they offered. After being on the phone for the dreaded length of time, I was told I would be having 2 NEW BOXES overnighted due of the issues I had been experiencing (WOW, nice), changed my internet provider from Earthlink (Time Warner provided), was told there is a $5.00 fee for ALL WI FI even without thier equipment, and added channels to cable I had never had. "I asked, will everything work as it has always, no interruption in internet...this is very important I run a business from my home". Customer service: "you will see no change". Less than 1-hour after this conversation, cable had all the new channels...but, NO INTERNET!!! I called back to technical support for about 90 minutes and finally got my hard wired internet back, but NO WI FI. Technical support said they found nothing wrong on thier end and could not do anything about my lack of WI FI. About 8 hours later, I lost internet again. I call back to technical support.....another 90 minutes; yes, you have no internet we will send out a tech representative. In the meantime the short period of time the internet was back up I contacted my internet/computer support company to see if there was anything on my end that could not be working correctly....there had been a lot of rebooting and resetting going on with Spectrum calls to technical support. My internet/computer support went in the backdoor of the system, setting are incorrect on the modem when it was operating. I waited from Saturday till Wednesday afternoon with NO internet (running a business). Tech representative shows up for appointment and too can't find out what the problem is. Finally, internet is back up....NO WI FI. I told him of my conversation about the additional $5.00 being charged for ALL WI FI with or without Spectrum Equipment, he was unaware and said it should be working he said my account showed no WI FI equipment. I had him speak to my internet/computer company so they could explain the setting for the modem were incorrect to receive wi fi. He had never heard of such. Finally he called his technically support after being at my home for 2 hours to have add the $5.00 WI FI Fee, which was not on the account that should have been......settings changed on modem and WI FI starting working.....THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED if Spectrum had told thier technical support of the change. Long story short....if you are changing over from internet provider, make sure the WI FI fee is on your account and your system or you will NOT get WI FI with your equipment or Spectrum. AND, NEW MODEMS being sent overnight......have never arrived. I trust I will not be billed for them....I can't bring myself to get on the phone again for a loooong wait and conversation to customer service. Good news, all is working now! read more

I got a $50 fee for something that was never disclosed to me, and when I told a representative on the phone about the situation, she just told me there is a paragraph on some random document that says there is a fee and she said it can't be avoided. What an excuse. I had an issue that I wanted to resolve and rather than seeing what she could do to fix it, she just said there's a paragraph somewhere that says there's a fee. I have zero respect for a company who's customer service's priority isn't even the customer. Their priority is to say "you have a fee and that's that, I'm not even going to try to help you." Only giving one star because zero stars isn't an option. I've been a Time Warner / Spectrum customer for almost 12 years (which means absolutely nothing to them) but not for much longer. Moved 2 miles down the street and took all my equipment with me. First technician showed up 2 hours late and had no idea why he was even there. He thought it was an internet upgrade. He was at the house for over an hour but he didn't even have the tools to complete the job. Total waste of time. Two days later another inexperienced tech shows up. I had to explain to him how to do his job too. He insisted on changing my box in the bedroom when there was nothing wrong with the other one. Two days later it quit working. Third tech shows up three days after that. He replaced box in bedroom finally I have fully functioning cable and internet. Then the bill shows up. It's over $100 higher than my the bill at the old address. Called customer Service and that was a nightmare. Had to talk to 5 different representatives and was on the phone for the most frustrating 1 hour and 3 minutes of my life and I'm still not confident the issues are resolved. If you have other options for cable and internet use them! I'm looking into all my options now. Spectrum is a F*#@ing joke! read more

One star is way too much. We had a lightning strike that took out our cable. On calling Spectrum we were told 5 days to correct, I argued that to 2 days. The technician replaced a cable and got the internet up but cable was still out and the tech said our TV was fried. I bought a new set and the internet came up but no cable. Called and again told 5 days, argued to 2. A second tech came our and found that the cable box inside the home was fried and replaced it. Everything worked including my former TV. We are now out over $400.00 thanks to a tech not checking the inside box. Spectrum has great tech support on the phone but is very lacking everywhere else. Cost is too high for the lack of quality. We switched to another provider and saved over 50% on our monthly bill. read more

The absolute pits. I've had TWC WiFi for more than a year and it has never worked properly. Once I convinced them to turn off their router and not charge me for it, I installed an Apple Extreme router and it works like the rocket that it is. I wish there were more options for cable/internet/phone service in the area. Verizon... where the heck are ya?! I signed up for service last August and since then, it's been nothing but issues. First, they screwed up the address on my account and put the address for the house next door. I was told that this would delay the installation, which my job depended on and this STRESSED ME OUT! Then, the technician comes to install everything and we had opted to use our own modem to avoid the fees, but the guy insisted that we would not have to pay anything extra for using the modem he had installed. Great! I ended up returning the modem I had purchased and saved a few bucks there. Then, guess what happens next? A few months later, we were billed for using their equipment. I mean, WHAT THE, WHAT? There's obviously an internal communication issue here. I ended up purchasing another modem and installing it. I then went to this location to return their modem and they printed out a list of equipment that we were supposedly using and the list was LONG. I told the associate that I had no idea what some of these were and she just told me to go home and look for any parts they might have sent via the mail. I mean, at this point I'm just like WTF?! Why would I be responsible for all of this equipment that I had never requested? Anyway, this was just the jist of the BS I had to deal with... I will spare you the rest of the gory details.. but I will say this: Time Warner is a JOKE and I wish there were more options in the area!
