Its unfortunate that I write this review, but Secur Tek leaves me little choice. Ive been a dedicated customer since 2018. Mark, sold me the system, Brandon was instumental in keeping me satisfied. Once Brandon left, it went downhill.For the past year, My safety has been compromised. I mistakenly tripped my system and no one checked, called or even cared if I was alive. I contacted Secur tek and the Managers explaination was I am on a delayed call? What in God's name is a delayed call? What happened was Secur Tek FORGOT to take my system off of TEST when they changed my smoke detector. Someone dropped the ball and did not want to credit me 6 months of monitoring. I thought I would give them another try, but last evening, I mistakenly tripped the alarm. CRICKETS!!!! No monitoring call, nothing. I contacted the company/left a voice mail, as well as contacted the after hour person. Greg who sounded as if I woke him from his sleep, called me back@ 1150pm. As I explained how no one from monitoring has called,he abruptly told me "When I am okay, call us and we will help you". WOW, and I repeat, WOW! he obviously did not want to be bothered. As of now, I have not heard a word from Secur Tek and the system continues to blink. I am in the process of finding a safe and secur security company for Secur Tek has compromised my safety far too many times. Please take my review as a safety precaution for you and your loved ones. What a great experience! I just moved into a new house right before Christmas and needed them to get us set for the holidays asap. I used them to install some new TV's on some walls, along with a surround sound speaker system and programmed my remotes. They also set my house set up for WI FI, X Box, and our security system. The service and expertise they provided when setting up our security system were fantastic. Really knew what they were doing, took their time, and had answers to all my questions. Things went a little off the rails (in my opinion) related to the tv installation. The short and sweet of it is they charge by the person AND by the hour for these types of things. So, instead of hiring someone to come out and paying them $100 or so to hang a tv (which is what I'm used to), you get billed $85/person/hour for labor for any special projects - like hanging TVs. On the first attempt to hang the tv, the technician mentioned he "wasn't the normal person who hangs TVs" but was already there to do the security and other wiring needs, and would be doing this as well. He, unfortunately, did not have the normal allotment of screws the "normal guy" would typically have who hang TVs. He got the tv hung temporarily and said they would have to have the other guy come back out to finish. So, I had to wait two weeks for the "normal guy" to come out and he basically said that he would have to reinstall it a different way. Here comes the problem, when you are charging by the hour and not by the job, I'm now paying for time that was wasted on the first trip. To be honest, I truly expected them to not charge me for something (whether it was the time spent of the first attempt or the second), but they chose to charge me for both visits and bill me approximately $250 to hang a tv. I gave them 2 stars because I liked everyone that I met and they seem very good on the technical side. But the decision, by mgmt or whomever, to charge me for 3 hours of labor, over multiple visits that were weeks apart, and $250 to hang a 42-inch television is absurd. I questioned this to them after I received the bill and they chose not to correct the situation. Its a terrible pricing model for this type of service as you can tell using my example above. For me, the larger issue is that I questioned the bill in a very calm way, gave them a perfect opportunity to make it right and "value the customer", and they passed. I would recommend them for your home security needs but highly advise you consider alternatives beyond that given how they charge for their services. read more

Ken at Secur-Tek was incredibly knowledgeable and not pushy at all. He came to the house, explained the system and offered suggestions. No upselling. He is the owner as well. David the installer was incredible. He was professional and extremely thorough. He was able to put a control panel where no one else could. No holes. No messes. Explained how to work the system. Would 100% recommend them. And the times we have accidentally alarmed they sent a text within 2 seconds and called within 10 seconds. Completely happy. read more
